It must be a foreign based company. After two years of having an account with Affirm now they say they can't verify my identity.
But they don't have a problem varifying my payments. And they still can't get it straight.
I wouldn't recommend them unless you like crazy ness.
I've been using Affirm for approximately 3 years now and paid thousands of dollars worth of loans off. Back in 2021 I was 2 days on ONE payment but got that caught up and even paid that specific loan off 4 months early with a pretty significant lump sum of money. Now fast forward I'm thinking yea I can use my Affirm app to make payments on smaller purchase and have lower interest than on one of my regular credit cards. Nope not happening, I was so called "pre-approved" for plenty more than my original purchase amount requested. I go through all the proceed to checkout and guess what Affrirm declines my purchase for "serious delinquency of past Affirm loans" so I called customer service, they explain oh yes I see her you were 2 days late back 2021 we won't be able to give you a loan at this time. Wait what? I counted I've paid off 43 loans with them and that ONE payment was the ONLY ONE that I missed by two days. Absolutely the worst ever. I will gladly take my business to Klarna and Afterpay. They will continue to get my business without any hassle. Below is just a small list of what I've paid off with Affirm. But never again!
I used Affirm when Covid hit and was helpful. About a month ago I notice that money was being used from my checking account and noticed the transaction was from affirm. They proceeded to send me an email days later the charge.
If you get a loan and for any reason you get a refund the monthly payments change totally. The personal who works there don't go farther than the system did that and is nothing we can do. You suppose to help your customer to make their payment easy. I got a loan for 12 months and after a refund change to 4 months. Chat online, call over the phone, talk to the supervisor and the only answer they had is THE SYSTEM fault! I really like Afirm for a loan but after this I will go to somewhere else.I have a very good credit pay always on time you losing a good customer. I don't like the robot customer service.
The first year was great! Made a ton of purchases, paid off a ton of purchases then all of a sudden, I get a strange call while at work from an Affirm rep stating that my account had unauthorized purchases. Next thing I knew, money started missing out of my checking account (Debit Card on file with Affirm). Before I could stop it. I was cleaned out in my checking and merchandise I didn't purchase was on its way to Florida I would be responsible for paying for! Affirm was no help! In fact, according to an investigator, it looked to have been an inside job! I had merchandise I was already paying on and now I couldn't pay for my merchandise without being required to keep my new Debit Card on file with this company which forced me to close and reopen a new Bank account. Now, they have forced me not to be able to pay for my merchandise, and now my credit is ruined! I hired an attorney and will sue them exhaustively! Be warned, do not do business with Affirm! It was a good company at one time, but now criminals operate it! If you don't have cash to pay for your items, save up for it or do without!
I got an Xbox Series X through Verizon and AFFIRM did the financing. I cancelled the order before the Xbox was even delivered. The Xbox was processed and returned back to the warehouse. Late February 2023. Verizon did everything they could for me. But AFFIRM still today says the Haven't received information of this cancelation. Affirm does not go over and above when helping you and they told me to make payments on a item I never even had! They say the same things over and over. And always have shifted the blame to Verizon. They say you should a receive a refund with in 3 to 45 days. Dealing with AFFIRM is nothing but a up hill battle. They do not care about helping you. And they never change what they keep telling you no matter how much you plead with them to help you. This company has totally sleazy scam feeling with dealing with them. DO NOT DEAL WITH AFFIRM. As of now I still haven't been able to get my loan cancelled. What a pain in the $#*! this company is. Don't give this company single Penny.
Was in a car accident last month and was in the hospital ICU unable to make payments due until I came home. You would have thought I had borrowed millions of dollars from them by the way they were acting. Pushy. They threatened my credit rating for being a week late on a $10 payment? Sure. Five payments in all that were a few weeks late, total of $65. They were okay up until that time, then life happened and well they started acting like your local loan shark.
Next month I'll just pay it all off ($350) and that's that.

Affirm is by far the worst lending company to do business with. This predatory lending company will leave you dry in the cold when you need help. Affirm does not investigate and they karats side with big business. You will be left with no protection at all. Their customer service and investigative team are a joke. If there was a zero star, I would gladly give affirm zero star. I used this company a total of 3 times to make purchases. I never have any problem paying my bill. In fact, I paid off two loans that I got in 2 months. I purchased an airline ticket ( $2000) through an agent who promised me 24 hours to help and cancel if I ran into any issues. My worst came true and the airline would not let and my family board our flights. I immediately contacted the agent who then advised me to contact Affirm. The purchase was pending when I spoke someone who promised to open an inquiry for a quick refund. Instead, affirm let the purchase go through even though my family and I never boarded our flight. We were left stranded in lax. I called the airline, affirm and the agent for help but each kept sending me to speak with the other. I ended up getting a rental and heading back home. My family vacation which I had been planning and postponing for two years had been ruined. Do your due diligence. Don't do business with affirm. Their customer service will not help you. They always side with big business. And you will be left with no protection if something goes wrong with your purchase. I hope this review helps someone. Don't fall for quick and instant predatory lending like affirm. Use your credit card which offers you some protection. Affirm does not care about consumers.
The automated phone line is shotty at best, requires you to say what you need help with and hope the computer understands your request. Then once you speak to an agent they're extremely rude and disrespectful. I actually had a woman laugh at me and then deny doing so. Refused to help me. I wanted to pay with my credit card like I did when I put down my first payment. Nowhere on Amazon does it say you cannot pay with your credit card. She simply told me they'll send it to collections and mess up my credit score. Said she was her own supervisor and that's all there was to it.
I've been using Affirm for a few years and never had a problem - until i had to change my phone number in August 2022. Now I can no longer access my account. I tried changing it online first. In doing that, you get to a point where you're forced to call them. When you call, you're told that they have to send you an email, which should arrive the next business day or soon after that. I got the email, uploaded my ID, completed the forms, and was told there was an error and they couldn't complete my request. Since then, I've called about 20 times, and get the same thing about the email. But I never got another email! No one will help me. I put in my email address for verification, my ss#, my home address and dob. NOTHING! All because I had to change my phone number! I couldn't pay my loans because I couldn't access my account, and my credit score dropped 67 points! If someone tried to steal my identity at this point, the joke's on them. I didn't have to show a photo id when I first used affirm, and now that they have it, I'm locked out of my account. STAY AWAY!

Be prepared for the royal run around, lying, being talked in circles an down right breaks in process to get anything done. Thank goodness my request is for a lovely reason of becoming married, because had it been due to divorce, this process would be a complete disaster and almost heartbreaking. The "process" doesn't work to get them information to verify who you are, so much so where it has taken me over 3 months and i still Can't use my affirm account due to them "not being able to verify my identity". This is especially hurtful because i think its discriminatory to do this. And there is no issue with my account. I have used Affirm in a way where i have an excellent account and payment history. I have never had issues being qualified for credit in the 6 loans I've had ad paid off according to my account terms. Now because I'm doing the right thing and disclosing my identity information changing to all my creditors, this process has been less than blissful. Now i cant use my account until they fix this, and there isn't anyone who can tell me what will rectify this. It's almost like they are doing this to deliberately remove me the opportunity to borrow with Affirm. Is it because I'm black? Or a woman? I'm literally not understanding any other reason why this has been so difficult.
I am posting this everywhere because I am so frustrated and I wish I had researched this scam before I uses it. SCAM ALERT! I have uses Affirm several times but this last attempt is the WORST experience i have EVER had with any company. I purchased a phone from my cell provider. The phone was backordered and the order was cancelled. Fine. So I start getting messages that I owe money for this phone I NEVER RECEIVED. I have been going back and forth between Verizon and Affirm for at least 2 months. They order is from November and it is now March. So they are charging ne for NONREFUNDABLE interest because they can't figure out how to fix this. I messaged affirm multiple times only to get the same response which is prewritten list of questions. Every single time the same message. I finally get them to say the issue is resolved. Guess what the resolution is...I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR AN ITEM I NEVER RECEIVED. I am so frustrated and have not idea what to do now. I swear I am always a very reasonable and understanding person but this is really driving me crazy. I am so tired of being scammed by this company.
It's just a continuous loop, insisting you filled out the application wrong, when in reality you've been denied, but... Nothing indicating this, until you call and they say you've been denied... I wonder what they do with your info? I'm disappointed Amazon would support this... Affirm is trash!
Folks go elsewhere for your purchases. I have perfect credit perfect payment history even with Affirm so being denied a payment plan for a pair of shoes is ridiculous. They let me pay off Lagos but Kizik shoes they deny me. I paid for the shoes in full on the Kizik website. When I tried to get an answer that was non effective I would have had better luck talking to my 2yr old grandson. Never a problem with Afterpay Klarna Zip and other payment sights. My advice to you is take a pass on Affirm it's Horrible
I opened a loan sometime between Nov and Dec of 2022. The money I was waiting for came on 12/29/22. I paid the loan with Affirm of $319 off with $320. I paid it off before the installment payments were required. Affirm stated I had accrued interest of $7. I didn't pay that until February 23,2023. I have no open loans with Affirm but they have lied and report to Experian I have $7 and that is the monthly payment.
According to them, the reporting will be corrected in the next report.
AFFIRM itself was great... However their customer service sucked. I called to pay off balance and the gal "Rahil" wanted my email, dob phone number and all this info (felt like she wanted my firstborn child as well) all I wanted to do was pay off acct. Because I would not give some other personal info she wouldn't let me make payment. (was planning to pay off acct) was rude, hard to understand and did not go out of way at all to provide good "customer service" I would not recommend using Affirm due to the customer service. They can make or break a business. So now I am having to get a bill sent in the mail which is going to take longer. In the future I will be only working with those who have a 5 star rating and those who know the meaning of "customer service" Kindness goes a long way... As well as being able to understand what they are saying.
Make sure you absolutely verify that a firm is accessing the account that you originally signed up with. For example, if it's a checking account, make sure that on their end, they have the checking account information only. I just had an experience where a firm went in to take payments out of an unused savings account versus the account that I signed up for. This caused a lot of problems. Please don't trust this company. Find other ways to finance don't use them. I think it's important. This type of information is shared everywhere.
In the very tiny print, if you don't see it, it will authorize to open a line of credit on you. This will affect your credit score, and it is very difficult to close the account. They gather personal information and make it very difficult for you to stop their behavior, assaulting your credit score.
