I have been unable to use my system since April, 2020. I contacted them many times to close my account, but they refused. I started getting bills, which I refuse to pay, as I didn't receive service. I finally got the account closed, and told the "supervisor" that I was not liable for the charges, and would not pay. She said, "it's taken care of."
What she meant, apparently, was that my account would be sent to a collection agency.
I will not pay this invalid bill.
My system came 3 weeks after signing up
The system didn't work sins I am on 5G and they are not
When I asked to send it back for a refund sins I only got the system two weeks prior they refused sins they said I ordered it more then 30 days ago and they don't take responsibility for delivery delays
So I lost all the money I payed

Several attempts to cancel the service which I didn't contract in the first instance and then I gave up. I disputed the bill for $124 and they said they would get back to me but never did. In the end, I paid it on 6/10/20. In early-mid November I get a letter from a debt recovery agency that's impossible to contact and I call ADT- despite quoting the receipt number the extremely rude person in the billing department refused to sort the problem and said they will get back to me. I called the next day - the guy I spoke too told me that that they had not done some processing or other - so as I understand this you can pay them but their systems are so poor they may not recognize it, and then with no cross-check happily pass the account to a debt collector. The guy I spoke to, said while he could correct whatever it was he could not solve the hand over which was another dept! I asked for confirmation that the problem at his end was resolved and he promised to email me by COB - he did not. And that is entirely consistent with the track record of this extremely poor business. Stay away from this poor service dishonest mob.

We explained to ADT that we only needed monitoring temporary when the tenant (who had been there for over 20 years and paid for monitoring for all that time) moved out of our office building that was up for sale. Unfortunately i was 2 1/2 hours from the location of the office building and my husband took time off from his job to meet with the tech to transfer the service. He thought he was signing just transfer papers because we had repeatedly explained to ADT both the corporate office and their tech that this was only until the office building sold. Well the tenant moved out in July2020 and we took over paying for the monitoring and the building sold on 10/22/2020. So that is 4 months of monitoring. Now ADT is making me pay the balance on a 36 month contract! Basically the tech tricked my husband into signing something we did not want. I have zero respect for this company. I called and explained and their only remedy was to move the service to a new location... they building is sold where would be move it. BTW my husband and I are senior citizens. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB.
The alarm went off and ADT did not call or send the police. Waste of money. Called to cancel they won't cancel for 30 days. Have to keep paying fir nothing.
Customer service is horrible. System did not work correctly. Place you in 5 year contracts. The ‘6 month money back guarantee' is a lie by the sale reps. If you switch to an ADT blue to get out of the contract they will send you more fees (again after confirming no fees to change). When asking customer service reps about this, they state ‘sorry our departments don't know each other's rules' beware. Would give 0 stars.
Had a system installed by ADT representatives and have had many issues including smoke detectors not working and 2 out of 4 cameras not functioning. Have contacted ADT online and had local representatives try to fix the situations. Online can't help because the installed system is out of date (5 years old) and local service only provides temporary fixes which fail over time. System is expensive and ineffective... I advise DO NOT USE ADT.
I was very impressed when a young man about 10-12 years of age knocked on my door and told me what he offered was free. The free was the yard sight saying my home was protected by ADT. Soon his father showed up with a contract. The contract was for 2 years, not too bad, and required checking information for auto payments. I had many technical problems with some of my equipment. The on hold time was excruciating, often over an hour. Most solutions were the typical "Do it Yourself." All of this is typical for this kind of company. My problem came when I called ADT to find out when my contract was over. I told them I would not be renewing because of the broken equipment, nothing happened to the equipment it just quit working, and lack of customer support. I paid my final bill. They continued to take money out of my account. I called again and was told that they have an automatic renewal policy. I informed him that I had spoken to customer service about 3 weeks before my contract was up and informed them that I Would Nor be renewing. He informed me that the request had to be in writing, a detail the previous customer service agent failed to tell me when I specifically told him I would not be renewing. I put it into writing and they continued to keep taking money from my account. I called customer service again and was told the request to stop service had to be submitted in writing at least a month in advance. I of course had switched companies so for an entire year I got stuck paying two companies for the same service. I find this company very dishonest and poor customer service support.
I spent hours waiting for customer service. Cancelling the contract was a nightmare. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.
ADT IS A SCAM! RENTERS SHOULD NEVER GET THEM! The contract is no less than three years and if you have to move you breach the contract and pay 75% in penalties and have to get a new contract for the new house and new equipment.
I joined ADT when I got my first house. The salesman didn't educate me on important issues. Such as the police won't be called out if someone is actually breaking in your home. I have to pay an additional cost to the city that I reside in. Also the camera that was put in only would stay charged for 4 hours out the day. The installation guys have cancelled multiple times. What's the point of having the system? When I tried to cancel a week shy of 6 months due to the continued issues they tell me no! They had the audacity to say they get three attempts to fix the issue. By this point I'm over ADT. Of course they are trying to keep me in a three year contract. So now I have a system that is pretty much no good.
Was searching for Security System for my home and ADT popped up during my search, I should have passed, yes this conpany has been in Buss since? That's a lot of years of ripping off customer's if ADT is SOOOOO GREAT! Then why STICK or STUCK customer's with a 36 MONTH CONTRACT! That's like buying a car, keep in mind it will cost you to CANCEL! You only have 3 DAYS to change your mind AT NO COST! But they won't tell you that. For anyone looking for home security think three times before you choosing ADT! I WISH I DID! But we learn from our mistakes, but if you decide to try ADT when the tech comes to your house with all that CREDIT? Think about your parent's telling you all your life NOTHING IS FREE make sue you get what YOU NEED NOT WHAT THEY WANT TO SELL YOU!

First I would like to say that I never written a poor review for a company. But, here it goes. We had an ADT security system installed 9 days ago, in July 2020. The first day after the installation the security system malfunctioned. ADT sent someone out the next day to correct the problem. A few days later I performed the weekly test of the system as recommended by ADT. In doing so I realized that the motion sensors were not working. I called in for service and was told someone would come to my home the next day between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. The service tech never showed, never called to tell me he wasn't coming. So, I called ADT and was assured someone would be out the next day between the same hours. Again, no one showed up and no one called. This is the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had. It amazes me that a company with such poor service survives in today's environment. If you ever have to call in for a service request be prepared to wait for up to 30 minutes to speak to a real person. Finally, when the tech came to install the system he told me that the total cost would be over $3,000. After I declined he made a few phone calls, the price dropped to just over $500. He then told me that the monthly monitoring service would be over $50. I again declined so he dropped the price to $27.99 per month. I feel sorry for those people who don't think they can negotiate ADT's pricing because they are paying a vastly inflated price.
The equipment is just as terrible as customer service. The departments aren't even on the same page as 1 person told me I was covered for maintenance, then the manager said I was not. Had them for a few months & it's been nothing but issues. From billing, to a camera that doesn't record or have night vision, to incompetent techs who didn't place the sensors on our door correctly. I spoke to manager "Shawnee" who was a waste of time to speak to. Horrible, inconsiderate & careless. Definitely canceling ASAP and absolutely NOT recommended.
Worst experience ever. Expensive and very poor service! Was lied to multiple times. They said RING was included, it wasn't. Had to pay for replacement of faulty equipment! Look at RING directly and WYSZ. They are high quality at a fraction of the cost.

So for 20 years I was loyal. 3 years ago I bought a home... I had to wait Til it was ready. ADT put my account on hold. I signed another 3 year contract. Once the house was ready.
I got a job transfer, sold my home. Call to transfer service said it would be succeed in 90 days they said no problem but they cannot call. Received a cancelation bill called the agent said the cancel we charge. I explained it was temporary and I've been with them 20 years, he didn't care said had to pay it. No problem they will get their money... But I will never use ADT again and will never recommend them!
You can never cancel with ADT! Even if you die, they will go after your family for their monthly monitoring fees. No joke! Do yourself a favor. Use anybody else!
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
