12Months in
January 10, 2017

So, I'm currently 12 months into the ADT Smart Home Security System and i can say its absolutely fantastic. I currently have a monitored system with police response and additionally have my smoke/carbon monoxide detectors monitored as well. The monitoring station has some of the friendliest staff and their quick actions have saved me from 2 break-ins so far! ADT are a credit homes across the UK and probably why they are still the number one choice!...

Really ADT
September 21, 2016

I called ADT on 9/7/16 to inform them I was cancelling my service. My service was up 10/2/16, I was informed by them that I would have to pay up until 10/7/16 because I did not give them a 30 day notice. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years, always paid for the policy up front for the year. They can not denial that. My new service starts on 9/26/*******@5pm. So I am paying ADT for service that is not render to me.(9/26-10/7. Their cooperate office called me to ask why I was leaving them. I explain to them what was going on with no results. This company has engaged in the worst form of gamesmanship to achieve their own goals. I am not asking them to built me a Noah Ark just do the right thing. As I understand ADT is merging with protection one. I do not believe that because I started out with security cooperate and they merged with deacon then deacon merged with ADT No one is around. I am reaching out to the public so they will no this company is not what they say they are. Thank you for your time reading this and thank you Site jabber for allowing me to tell the truth on your site. Kathy

I had ADT on my parent's home for 3 years. It was very expensive. Installation was a week -long ordeal that caused problems with telephone service that kept recurring. The ADT technicians seemed to be ill-prepared and tended to pass the buck rather than try to solve the problem.
Despite my parents death ADT was going to charge us several hundred dollars to cancel service. I transferred service. I recently cancelled. Now, I am trying to get tech support to come out and remove the equipment.
Overall, I think ADT is a poor value and customer service is lacking. Find someone else; you can do better.

ADT is probably one of the more expensive monitoring services out there. I think they're overpriced and considering that I use two other monitoring services before, this one offers the least flexibility. I've used Monitronics and SafeTouch before. Both of the others offer non-wifi dependent remote monitoring service that can be controlled with my phone without depending on an existing wifi present. I can also assign codes easily for extra users to monitor entrance and usage right through the internet site. With ADT, this is not possible unless you go with their PULSE program, which ONLY works with your existing wifi. Oh, and they are about $10 more expensive per month. Too bad those other companies don't exist in the Northeast.

I bought a house with an ADT security system installed by the previous owner. I did not activate the system as we are a big family and someone is always here.

After a few years of living in the house the alarm began going off each time we open a door. When it goes off we have to push a button on the keypad (clear or off). Unfortunately we cannot get it to stop doing this so every single time we open a door it does this.

After contacting the company they have told me:

1. They cannot provide any code to me to turn it off permanantly
2. They cannot turn it off from their end.
3. They will not send a technician to turn it off because I don't have an account
4. If I had an account this would cost me $2OO to have it fixed

I feel that they should be responsible for the system in the home and that they should be required to fix this problem. Whether they disarm it or remove it, they should do something.

I am disgusted and have a headache!

Kirsten

For my home, I found ADT to be more expensive than its competitors. I'm not saying it's bad but I don't think for home security its as good of a value as many others. I got cheaper quotes from Protect America and I thought Alarm.com was a lot better.
