We are a law firm and former customer of ADT. This is a warning: if you prepay your account quarterly, and then terminate your account, they will steal whatever you paid them and have left on the account. They will not refund the money, saying it is too bad but they wiped your records. If you have been similarly cheated by ADT, please contact our office INVESTIGATIVE LAW OFFICES, P. C. We are gathering complaints to file an action against the company at the state and federal level.

My neighbor is using ADT camera for his criminal activity. Camera is pointed at my back door aprox 40ft away, ADT, police Dept, state police or sheriff department can't do a damn thing about it. Michigan has NO LAW pertaining to this. This person is a known thief of Mancelona, Mi. I personally know. NO moral values, he's trying to railroad me into moving.
ADT IS NOW ENJOYING THIS NEW EXPANSION OF THEIR BUSINESS. THIEVING BY PROXY.

I signed a contract with ADT thinking it was a good deal since I was living outside the city. They were promptly when signing and getting the basic equipment at my place. After that I almost had a fire in the kitchen. My dogs were my alarm. ADT equipment did not even go off or did I get a call. It's been two years and I am stuck with this service until February 2022. Good way of guaranteeing they have money coming in. They never checked again to see if their equipment was working... they did a call maybe 6 months after the contract was sign and that was the end of feeling someone had my back in case of an emergency. I called to share my experience and I was scolded by their representative. Good luck to me for the rest of the contract. Donating Money to ADT.
Okay so the service is horrible I been with ADT for about 8 months or so they are never on time with service, had to wait 2 weeks for new batteries replacement for the sensors, finely when I received them it was the wrong batteries then I had to wait another two weeks for a technician come in to Take a Look at the sensors, the technician was rude and unprofessional, afterward sensors would go off in the middle of the night all of the sudden and scary me and my children to death, happened very often. I wasn't noticed that they put me on a 3-year service when I had enough and decided to cancel the service they charged me 830$ for nothing, but ended up paying $520 with supervisors service… suck a rip off for a very unprofessional service I will not come back as a customer and will not recommend it to anyone I know!
After 30 years as an ADT customer I tried to cancel my account after being gifted a different system. I informed the call center rep that I there was nothing they could do to keep me as a customer since I had a family relationship with the new security provider. That was a courtesy I extended to them to expedite the cancellation. It was completely disregarded by the rep. She kept insisting that I was making a mistake, would not listen to my louder and louder pleas to "Please just cancel this account!" The simple request took 30 minutes on the phone to accomplish. So much for courteous help for a long-time customer. They only care about the cu$tomer who $tays with them. Over the years ADT has kept rising prices after the contract expires, forcing you to have to re-negotiate and get into a new 3 year contract to do it. That is always a pleasure--NOT. So avoid ADT in your house like you would avoid DDT around your house.
I am a business that was affected by the pandemic and we had to close our doors. I called to cancel service, and was told I had to pay $563.00 to finish out contract, then ADT submitted a bill request for $695.31 from my bank account! When I called they could not tell me why the increase and offered a refund of the difference. So they were going to steal from someone when they are already at their low. I did not receive any financial assistance for my business failing but they have the nerve to try and take more from my family. So very sad that a company feels they need to take advantage of others. Want to add I paid my bill on time for the 2 years of services I already received. Will not recommend them to others.
After a 20 year customer stint and a conversation with FOUR people today, I canceled my service.
I was offered a "discount" on an upgrade but told that the more my upgrade was discounted- the higher my monthly monitoring rate would cost.
I am seriously disappointed in ADT's customer service.
The worst company that pretty much is a scam, they raised monthly bill from 50 to 90 without warning and would not let people cancel Witwatersrand hefty charge. Will never ever use it. Stay away!
Been a long-time customer. Trying to reach customer service through telephone and PM's. Terrible customer service and very unethical business practices. I've filed a complaint with the BBB.
Terrible customer service. Had two appointments with four hour windows. 1st time guy doesn't show up. 2nd time they show up late. Called customer service to complain and they couldn't care less. All they wanted to do was schedule another four hour window then tell me it's not a guarantee. Why bother telling people a time window then. Might as well tell you just wait all day and maybe someone might show up. Switching my business account ASAP and the home account as soon as the contract runs out. Done with incompetence. Never again.
BUYER BEWARE: the "early" cancellation fee is HUGE. If you need to end a contract early, you pay 75% of the contract balance. I cancelled my system 3 years early because I was relocating. I moved to an apartment building with keyed access. I was charged $1,200 for the cancellation!
Note: What's really upsetting is that I've been a customer for 15 years, at two different residences. ADT is *not* customer facing. They have a total disregard for customer loyalty. Had I ever needed an alarm system in the future, I would've gone with ADT. But now -- they've lost a customer for life.
Simply put: ADT is an unscrupulous, bait-and-switch business, and should be avoided at all costs.
I signed up for the service vis phone and was promised $20/month for the 1st 12 months and $28/month for the following 24 months.
The installation tech arrived and wanted to walk thru every room and around the whole outside of the house, continuously pointing out all the "vulnerable" areas. In hindsight, I should have recognized he was preparing me for a pressure-packed upsell to switch from the basic package I ordered to a much more expensive package. I told him no, I just wanted the basic system. He kept pushing hard to get me to agree on a more expensive system to be installed. He was trying to force me to sign his ipad agreeing to the higher priced system, saying he didn't know anything about a $28/month deal and that I was going to be billed $37/month. I ordered him to leave my house and as he was packing his equipment, he was uttering angry words in Spanish. I didn't know if he was threatening me or just cursing me out, but I was then getting concerned about my personal safety and the security of my home and property since he was now intimately familiar with all of it, and he had my credit card number.
I reached out to ADT through twitter and was told someone would contact me within (I believe) 2 days so I could lodge a complaint. This went on for about 2 weeks as I recall with no one ever contacting me. Finally, after a few more tries via twitter I was contacted by a low level person with no authority. I demanded to be contacted by a senior level person because I wanted ADT management to know how badly their people treat their customers. That was over a month ago. Nobody from ADT has contacted me since.
Horrible customer service. Equipment did not work or do the job, Despite repeated trips to fix it over a year they couldnt get their equipment to work. We had to change to another company, and now, even though their equipment didnt work, they want $600+ in cancellation fees. Letter to President fedex, no response.
Check contracts rep forged my signature on the legal document wouldn't trust this company so all should check there contracts because if you didn't sign it its not legal and void
I installed ADT in my house, the rep assured me that i can take it anywhere i go in case i move because of the contract. 2 years later i moved to a different place, same thing another rep assured me we were only transferring the contract to the new address. I was very firm with this question because i knew the new address was temporary. After a year, when i called to cancel they said the second time was a brand new contract, i called the rep she said she never said that. I lost my job, end up with very low paying job, i am going thru a very tough time, ADT doesn't care, they keep calling as if I'm talking to the wall. Really don't know how to get out of it. I never missed a payment with anyone in my life. Now i don't know how to deal with this nightmare. To ADT couple of thousand dollars is nothing, to me it's food on my table.
In October of 2020 - I took over the church and changed the name of the church and needed to change payment for ADT. We changed name and changed credit card billing. Never was I told we were in contract. NEVER DID I RECIEVE ANY PAPERWORK. In fact I was told we were not under a contract.
Never have I received any emails or bills from ADT until this today when I received a bill with the penalty.
When I canceled last week - they never mentioned a contract. Someone called me days later to confirm the cancelation - never was a contract mentioned.
Today I receive a bill for $458 due to early cancelation. This is absurd.
I was told we were not in a contract, when I canceled I was never informed we were in a contract or there would be a penalty. Called and ya'll said there was nothing you could do. I am very disappointed with the lack of clear transparency and that will cost the church $458.
Not pleased - NEVER WILL I EVER GO WITH ADT and I will advise everyone to say away.
Adt is a rip off I was a customer for 3 years and the charged me 567 dollars. Go with Ring and save $
I have spent two months, countless phone calls (including irritating "hold" music) and talked to approximately 12 people in Customer Service and Account Management, only to continue to have the same problem. I have sold my home and requested service cancellation. No one seems capable of closing out my account. The last phone call resulted in me being out on hold for 30 minutes and then getting only dead air.
Do not use this company. The employees are clueless and inept.
We moved into our new home after selling our old home. We cancelled our service for our old home. We were billed for services on our old home after we sold it. Then we were billed on an accelerated program for our new home. Over charged over a $100 in all. Customer services was not any help when I called. Basically saying nothing she could do. I would not recommend ADT to anyone. Plenty of other home security companies out there. ADT will overcharge you and their service is below average.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
