Question:

I used a provider to dogcare and she started skipping on it, so, i terminated her employment. after couple weeks, i posted a reciew about her on care.com and she text me back that if i don't take the review down she will tell her family that i behaved inapproriately with her. she has texted me again and called me names. need help?

Answer:

Take a screen shot of the text she sent you. Document that text. If you think she can potentially cause you harm, report her threat to the police. If she claims you were inappropriate with her, she could cause you a tremendous uphill battle for a long time. That threat shouldn't be taken lightly. Reporting her to your local police will document her false claim.

Question:

I wrote an honest and accurate review that was polite and respectful on a caregiver that had left my baby in a dirty diaper and crying for 3 hours in her crib while she sat outside the house with her boyfriend, not realizing i had a live stream nanny cam in the house. i was too far away and could not get back as soon as i wanted. i called several times and asked her to check on my baby and she did nothing. i was kicked off the website after calling her in as negligent and writing a review. never use care.com. this is an unethical, criminal company that will take your money and does not care about anyone or anything.

Answer:

Care.com is a real company that is run by money hungry greedy CEOS that have no interest whatsoever about customer service, children or anyones safety. This is the biggest scam since Enron. Background checks are mostly wrong and babysitters are not vetted. Stay away!

Question:

I would like to know if it is possible for a babysitter to run a background check on parents? minors as young as 14 years old are allowed to babysit at care.com in stragers homes, off the net with no adult supervision. could the parents of that 14 year old minor run a background on the employer parents?

Answer:

My experience was that Care.com ran a background check on me immediately upon purchasing a premium account. My account was suspended because of a dismissed non-drug, non-violent charge. When I contacted them to ask why I was being treated as a criminal when I am not, they informed me that they suspend the account of anyone with any conviction or non-conviction in their background (covering only the previous 7 years). However, only one adult in the household needs to be named on the account and they make no effort to determine the number, names, or backgrounds of any other adults in the household. I would definitely be concerned if it was my child going to strangers houses. My opinion is that Care.com does a terrible job of protecting any of the users on its site and you are better off spending the money you would be paying them for membership conducting your own research into potential caregivers/employers.

Question:

Why do you need to pay a membership and then plus pay the sitter on top of that.

Answer:

I have filed a complaint with the BBB with no resolve. I am a fantastic caregiver and they just terminated my account! No reason given. I also contacted the Today Show but haven't received an answer. I will continue my attempt to discredit them as they have discredited me. They're malicious!

Question:

I would like to hire someone to help for one week only while we settle into our new home. i do not have a credit card. i would like to purchase a one-month membership; can you please tell me how?

Answer:

Care.com does not accepts payments "other" than a credit card. Care.com most likely will not accept a prepaid visa card (but I'm not certain). Available at most dollar stores or grocery stores. I DO NOT recommend using this site for childcare. If you read all the Q and A's on this page below you will discover Care.com does not provide a safe and legitimate service. Care.com is nothing more than a Craigslist and not any safer. Most caregivers on this site have no experience in childcare and many caregivers have lengthy criminal records. If you do decide to pay the extra $80 on a preferred background check make sure to run the persons name on a second internet background service that is not hosted by Care.com. Care.com uses a cut rate background check that is almost always incomplete and not updated at all. The basic background check literally doesn't cover anything but a basic police record (cross referenced) from the caregivers address on his/her drivers license. Careviers are able to pass the background checks with felony charges because any drivers license borrowed or stolen can be used. No real ID is ever seen by anyone at Care.com. Call a reputable nanny service that uses live interviews with paper police reports. Your children's life is not worth the risk to save a few dollars. Care.com is truly the fast food of childcare.

Question:

I found someone i am interested in interviewing for a job. how do i contact? no interest in a subscription.

Answer:

Care.com uses a predatory approach to its customers by roping you in by the free to get started ploy. Then after you spend time making your advertisement, choosing caregivers and the lengthy sign up process you s realize that you were scammed. THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT A BABYSITTER ON CARE.COM WITHOUT FORWARDING YOUR CREDITCARD. THERE IS NO WAY FOR A BABYSITTER TO LEAVE HERE PHONE # TO A PARENT UNLESS THE PARENT PAYS FOR THE SERVICE. This only the opening scam... Then after you sign up and pay the service care.com will contunie to bill your card for the rest of your life. EVEN IF YOU CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD THE BANKS WILL FORWARD YOUR NEW CARD TO CARE.COM. YOU MUST CANCELL YOUR ACCOUNT AND CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT OR CARE.COM WILL CONTINUE TO BILL YOU FOREVER... The problem is closing your account is sometimes problematic and Care.com will not close it for you... Figure out how to close your account before you open your account and put a post it note on your computer to close as soon as you are finished with the service. The next scam is the biggest of all. Care.com sells everyones personal information between the 16 counties its in and 50,000 accounts it has open today... Dishonest American Care.com employees are doinf this and making a killing... So your credit card information and first and last name, address and the whole shabang will be exposed. GOOD LUCK!
