I would like to hire someone to help for one week only while we settle into our new home. I do not have a credit card. I would like to purchase a one-month membership; can you please tell me how?

Care.com does not accepts payments "other" than a credit card. Care.com most likely will not accept a prepaid visa card (but I'm not certain). Available at most dollar stores or grocery stores. I DO NOT recommend using this site for childcare. If you read all the Q and A's on this page below you will discover Care.com does not provide a safe and legitimate service. Care.com is nothing more than a Craigslist and not any safer. Most caregivers on this site have no experience in childcare and many caregivers have lengthy criminal records. If you do decide to pay the extra $80 on a preferred background check make sure to run the persons name on a second internet background service that is not hosted by Care.com. Care.com uses a cut rate background check that is almost always incomplete and not updated at all. The basic background check literally doesn't cover anything but a basic police record (cross referenced) from the caregivers address on his/her drivers license. Careviers are able to pass the background checks with felony charges because any drivers license borrowed or stolen can be used. No real ID is ever seen by anyone at Care.com. Call a reputable nanny service that uses live interviews with paper police reports. Your children's life is not worth the risk to save a few dollars. Care.com is truly the fast food of childcare.

Check out FREE job listing services like Craigslist or FB groups. If this is for childcare you can call your state for resources to get names of licensed childcare providers. Always check references and if you can do a background check.
