Yellowpages is a scam business!
They added my business to their online listing with my PERSONAL CELL phone number
Listed. I continue to get autodial and marketing phone calls to my
Personal number every day (Sometimes at 4 or 5 am in the morning!)
They did this without my consent to disclose my personal information. The
Worst part is you cannot ask them to remove your listing, they make you
Sign up for their bogus service in order to edit or remove your listing.
I am looking into whether this is a chargeable offense under
Canada's Anti-Spam regulations and will be reporting this highly
Unscrupulous activity post haste.
Have been trying to call YellowPage's to go over my account. I have been on hold for 3 days, for a total of 6 hours. Pathetic customer service. I wanted to cut back on some of the ads. But with the experience I have had in the past 3 days trying to get ahold of them, I am just going to cancel the whole thing.
YP deserves a zero for their business practices!
They offer a terrible service, not worth the money then force you to be their customer through auto renewall process, then they pretend they can't cancel service.
Waste of money,
Terrible service
Poor business practice
No wonder they arent on BBB or you cant review them on google business page... it would be all bad!
It started out as 90 dollars a month by 2 months in it was 230 dollars a month I asked to shut the advertising off as I was not around to run my business for a few months and they said they couldnt. I asked if I could cancel it althogether and they said I had to wait 10 months. Made me and my business look bad and didnt bring any extra sales
I am a financial services rep in Ontario and wanted to get a website to promote my business. However, I don't have the working knowledge of building a website and don't consider myself very proficient in marketing either.
Therefore, I really liked the services "offered" by Yellow Pages about being able to take care of the website design and build for me. However, my experience with them has been terrible. The website design is mediocre and it is obvious that the wording on the site is canned and unprofessional. Upon reviewing the draft version of the site, I was left with the option of publishing a website that doesn't represent me - and I am not happy at all with - or, spending money to hire someone outside of Yellow Pages to redo the site (Hint: if you are considering YP, do yourself a favor and hire someone else).
I tried cancelling and was advised that I was locked into a 1 year contract so now I am paying for something I can't use.
Save yourself some grief and headaches by looking elsewhere. I have no clue how this company has managed to stay in business so long.
I signed up for a year for my business. I didnt get 1 call via yellow pages online. Think about that for a second. I shelled out about $700 and didnt get 1 call. Use Kijijj instead to advertise your business.
Customer service- horrible!
I tried to change my listing because we moved.
I was told that I couldn't make that change that my phone company needed to request it.
Wait... what?
I'm the customer though!
After arguing with them for 15 min they finally agreed to make the change.
It could take 24-48hrs he said.
So a week and a half later I searched my company name.
Still the wrong address!
Call them once again.
We have made the changes to our web site but we don't control Google so
It could take up to 3 weeks for them to change it.
Sooooo the service I was paying you for (dearly) isn't what I agreed to.
I was told that if I sign up with you when people search my company name I will pop up withing the first 5 links. Thats what she said! Sorry YP I'm not paying you 1 more cent!
The salesperson who called me from yellowpages told me that I can expect to receive 25 calls per month, or more, from the yellowpages ad he sold me. In order to build trust with me, he showed me someone else's yellowpages ad, and indicated that he was receiving this number of calls from his ad. I agreed to sign up for 1 year as this is the minimum length of contract they offer. It was a big mistake on my part - I receive only 5 calls or so per month and have realized they misrepresented to me what I can expect. I am paying $140 per month for 5 calls. As such, yellowpages grossly overpriced the service they sold to me. When I raised this concern to them, instead of agreeing to come to a more equitable arrangement with me, they insisted that they had not promised any particular result and I was locked into a 1 year contract. I told them that they cannot make a false representation and then contract their way out of it. They had no response to this. Yellowpages is not an equitable company. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. I wish I had. There are other issues I have not discussed for the sake of not making this review too long. If you look at the website of the better business bureau you will see this company is highly problematic and not trustworthy.
If you ever call them, or they call you watch out. They called one day, got one of my staff and used her name as confirmation to enlist us in services we never asked for or wanted. Then they put an $1,100 CAD charge on my Bell phone bill. Then the battle started, I eventually got my money back, but not without a fight. SCAM, SCUM, SCABS AND SCABBIES!
This is the most frustrating and incompetent company out there. Do not spend your money advertising with Yellow Pages. There are far better ways to advertise your business online.
The create profile with wrong info and wont let you change it... BIG SCAM...
Please do your research, they are classified as the worst marketing company on the net.
They trick you into contracts with fine print, increase prices without warning, and make it impossible to back out of once you are trapped.
Don't fall for it.
Ive been a costumer for over 25 years last year when I spoke to my account manager Keith Ormesher and cancelled the account I was told no problem no charges after August 2022
Yellow keep billing me through Bell
I called Keith and he told me no problem he would take care of it 3 months latter I am still being billed and Keith says he cannot do anything just keep paying if I want to retain my phone number with Bell
I Know they record you when setting up the account as Keith told me so
They have proof that account was cancelled but lie about the whole thing
They are ripping people off do not trust them
I rate them 0
I had a 1 year contract that I got no results from, called them at 11 months to cancel and they had already auto renewed. I told them I won't pay because I didn't agree. So now they're taking me to court. My lawyer just laughed when I told my story and told me let them take me to court and I will win. I decided either way I'll make them pay as much in legal fees as possible! Complete Extortion trying to scare you with the thought of going to court! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY!
Don't waste your money, they do NOTHING for you,,,,,, huge scam. They tell you if you don't advertise you won't come up in searches and then don't tell you that your contract automatically renews every year!
Had a website built by yell, the sales rep said the site would be mine,, but it wasn't just the domain name was mine,, u have to rent your own website off yell every year, so the money I thought I was spending on website build was really rental, which would be due every year,, also the account manager takes weeks to get back to you when you have an issue, and customer service is about as useful as a bucket with a hole, also to top it all off I spent a total of 1000 pounds, and never even got 1 phone call, yell apologies are not worth anything and I got a total of 10 pounds in a way of an apology,, never use this company again, total waste of time
Too bad there isn't a negative star because they deserve it for their dirty tactics of putting customers on the hook for contracts they didn't want, and not letting them get out of a contract. My husband has been trying to cancel a service that they tricked him into signing up for a year by quickly reading the terms to him over the phone and slipping that in without being transparent. And apparently on top of cancelling the contract; he has to explicitly state in a letter that he doesn't want a new one to be automatically renewed. What kind of bogus practices is that. They have been very evasive every time he calls saying "the guy" who cancels the contract is out of office and will call back. How come there is only one guy that cancels the contract and 100 vultures that can sign you up for one? Is is some special rocket science technique that only one person in the company knows. They make is difficult and a complete waste of the customers time on purpose so we will give up. What a terrible company.

The guy called me to advertise with them, and i kept saying no and he kept insisting and at the end he tells me well i hope you have luck with your PASSIVE STRATEGY. Excuse me boy, did i miss something or you had a phd in marketing? Who are you to tell me how i should advertise my OWN BUSINESS. Like seriously, i really would like to know how this company hires their employees because they clearly miss manners and respect. If someone tell you no, have a dignity and self respect to take it and not be an idiot about it.
You can sign a contract to start advertising... BUT THEY WILL NEVER LET YOU LEAVE...
Just play Hotel California while you try and deal with this BS company...
They have every BS excuse as to why you owe them money and you can't end your agreement... Why they are able to continually SCAM people with their fraudulent practices is beyond me...
Answer: Hire a lawyer. They are scam artists... trust me. Stay far away from this company
Answer: Our contractual terms are for a 12-month period (or a 6-month period for certain products). Customers are able to cancel their contract with Yellow Pages by providing notice 3 months before the expiry of the term. If not, contracts automatically renew, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. We invite you to contact us at 1-844-875-4290 to discuss this further. Thank you.
Answer: They also posted my personal information to their site without permission. I recommend reporting them to Canada's Anti-spam regulatory body. You can report them here: https://www.fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/frm-eng/MMCN-9EZV6S
Answer: My son in high school was harassed by a telemarketer and said no. He created an IT website in HS for a class. Two months later I got an invoice for $57 month. I told them my son has a Communication Learning Disability, a Medical Disability and is being treated for PTSD. They refused to help. I will go to BBB and ask my lawyer. My son should have hung up but they coerced him and he was too young and naive to know better. Shame on them!
