I received work boots smashed up and the box dented online. I returned at a store in CT, where the sales lady said " yeah, the online services at DSW are terrible" - their own worker said this. This was a xmas present. Of course, the new ones didn't fit, so I returned online. ( the physical store was too far away and I wasn't going back).Well, the CREDIT appeared to be a DEBIT. DSW customer service said " not it" and made me call citibank. After weeks - the CREDIT still looks like a DEBIT ( with a minus sign) and I have been told repeatedly this is a CREDIT. I will never, ever, ever, shop at DSW again. A total and complete nightmare. The customer service people are clueless. NOTHING is easy or intuitive. Terrible. Save your breath and energy.
Shoes did not arrive on time
I ordered a pair of shoes for vacation. The site said they would ship in 4 to 7 days and would arrive on 12/12 which would be the day before my vacation.
I ordered on 12/4 which would get them to me no later than 12/12. After watching the site 3 times a day for shipment and not seeing them shipped I called customer service on 12/6 and was told they would arrive in 12/10. I also wrote emails to customer service and they told me delivery would be 4 to 7 days AFTER shipment. My how things change once they have your money!
The shoes finally shipped on 12/9 making it impossible to arrive by promised date and to late for vacation!

I have snapshots of all fraudulent promise dates and also saved all emails if DSW wants to dispute my claim.
I was shopping for the person who can't go to the store for health reason. I was bringing him shoes and return if they didn't fit. Yes I was buying a lot. Last time my purchase was rejected for return. Cashier gave me slip with a number to call. I called,but they k ow nothing. They repeat what was written on the paper
I asked fir the manager but of course, he was not available. And he never called me back. I comminicated with customer services of DSW and after long emails with promisses to help,i was ty old that they are servicing purchases made on line. So im off $70. I return all shoes within 5 days unworn.
I will be able to start returning in 6 mo. Lol
I have shopped Prosper Tx location ever since it opened. Used to be great. Now it's horrible! Don't bother shopping there! Service is horrible and manager is extremely rude! Store is always a hot mess!
Is it too much to expect brand new shoes when you order shoes online? I don't think so. Twice I received clearly used shoes. Dirty and scraped up. No packaging. Never again. Customer service is terrible. They just said return the shoes for a full refund as if they weren't used and worn and disgusting and dirty.
Found a nice pair of Brooks sneakers in the clearance section. Regular price $85. I was so happy to see the price tag was green and according to the sign directly above where I found them the green tag means 50% off. Yay! What a bargain...that is until I went to pay and guess what - green tag was ringing up at only 20% off. WHAT! How can you have a sign that says 50% off and then tell you "Oh sorry it's only 20% off this week". Take a look at the picture here. How is that not clearly 50% off. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a picture of the price tag. It was clearly green. Nobody was disputing that. "That sign didn't get changed, like all the other ones did." But if the sign says 50% off, is the store not obliged to sell the item to you for that discounted price. I'm sure other stores would. What a crock! I'm done shopping here! One star for having a nice pair of sneakers that I did not buy!
I like the rewards program and credits received when donating shoes. The shoes are then made available for those in need. It is a win win.
They are also very helpful locating shoes. The location is also convenient for us.
I made an online purchase for in store pickup. I go into the store to pickup my shoes and was helped fairly quickly however when I asked for a bag because they got my shoes and slid the box over to me i was told they don't give bags for purchase. I leave with my box in my hand and shortly after my exit of the store another customer walks out right behind me with a bag for her purchase. Like wow you just told me a huge lie. I spend over 50 bucks for my shoes and I can't have a bag. I will.never shop at this store again. The shoes I got are very cute but not even comfortable either. I didn't even receive a receipt. I did get my email confirmation of pickup but I would think I would have gotten a paper copy in case I wanted to.return or exchange my shoes. My entire experience was very weird.
I purchased a pair of $50 sandals online at DSW and when I received them they had already been worn. The bottoms of the sandals were dirty and the tops were stretched out. I have been going round and round with customer service for a week. They were supposed to be sending me another pair but then canceled the order for no reason.? They tell me to tack them back to a DSW store. That's NOT going to work seeing how the nearest one to me is 60 miles away in another state. I am NOT going to pay for shipping for their mistake. Now I have a used pair of $50 sandals I can't even wear due to the tops being so stretched out.
I purchased a pair of slippers two and a half weeks ago. I called today and they said they could refund me or resend them as they are still available. I opted for the reorder. The customer service rep was very friendly. He said he checked the tracking and the package was lost. No offense, but I could barely understand him. I had to ask him to repeat himself several times. I am waiting to see if the second pair shows up. Thus far i'm not impressed with their handling of online orders.
I ordered a pair of Betsey Johnson flats for $79.99. Not cheap. I received them without tissue, toe stuffers, box was filthy and damaged. Shoes were worn by someone with fat feet and stretched them out. Customer service was ignorant. I will purchase my shoes from a reputable retailer and I will NEVER buy from DSW again
Ordered in store on line because they didn't have the size I wanted. It arrived fast but it is used. Very disappointing. Also a piece of it is broken. I'm returning this for sure. Hope the return goes well otherwise I will be editing this review.
All I heard was lies. From the minute that my delivery was delayed until the moment I found out by mistake that my shoes were out of stock until they claimed via email that they will personally call me.

I ordered two pair of shoes to be picked up at one of their stores well in advance before I went on vacation (reason for purchasing shoes). I have called their customer service three times. Only to be told, They were shipped to your house, wrong, I am picking up at the store. They are on the way, they are coming today, you will get an email when they arrive- still waiting.
Every time I call, I am told you have to wait until they arrive, then you just don't have to pick them and a refund will be issued. WRONG AGAIN!
Yet,I paid for items I don't have. Never will shop at DSW AGAIN!
I gotta start by saying the positive: having emailed DSW regarding a defective product I purchased from them online, they got back to me extremely quick! Sometimes even just a few hours later! Bravo to them on their fantastic promptness! But be warned - each response was from a different representative (at least 6 or 7 in my case), which meant each response was completely different. Their initial response was most helpful, but after that, every response to follow had a different answer, and in the end, their answers went from "Yes, we'd be happy to help you" to "We can't help you at all." It was beyond ridiculous. Almost comical, in fact. I eventually gave up - too much unnecessary stress and a complete waste of my time. Should you need to contact DSW customer service, you might be better off doing so over the phone or in person.
Ordered a pair of Saucony shoes that were on sale on June 19 and didn't receive any notification about their status for weeks. I called multiple times to check my order but it was still not fulfilled. I finally was able to get a hold of customer service today on July 14 and was informed that there had not been any movement on the shipment since the confirmation date so we went ahead and cancelled it. My refund is pending at the moment. Very unlikely I'll use this service again in the future.
Bought a pair of boots I used 4-6 times and walked less than half a kilometer in before they started breaking down while still brand new. They suggested the damage was intentional and offered a 10% discount even after seeing the pictures. If you want piss poor products and even worse service now you know where to get it.
I bought a pair of shoes that completely fell apart after 5 months. But what is even worse is that when I reached out to DSW they said there was nothing they could do about it, no refund or exchange. They don't stand behind the products they sell. I've been a long time DSW customer but this will definitely be my last purchase from them. Do better DSW.
This was my first order with DSW. With all the introductory promotions, I got a pair of Bare Traps sandals for a great price. They were too big which didn't seem consistent to other brands I've worn. I quickly set up an exchange on there website and quickly had my smaller pair. I did not have any interaction with customer service, because the exchange was automatic, so I can't vouch for that area of company. That and the size problem are the only reasons for 4 star. Will recommend to others.
Called store about Birkenstock's Arizona Big Buckle in white, giving full description and price of shoe. Was told there we 2 in my size. I arrived at store only to find what was advertised as white online was actually a pearl/off white yet the shoe shown online was white white! I am stuck with a purchased gift card for $170 that I cannot return to Kroger! I assumed if DSW sold Birkenstock they would be authentic and true to color. The person who identified herself as a manager had no answer excepted advertising department was responsible for photos online!
