Wix has become my preferred platform for building beautiful and functional websites, even with minimal technical skills. Wix payments app froze my payouts (nearly $2,000) and gave me no clear explanation. Sent additional information they asked for in their automated e-mail (far more than they asked for in order to TAKE my payments in the first place). Every day I call and no one will help me or give me a status. Hate is too kind a word. Still waiting for my $2,000.
Its been a day 10 of my frozen payout with wix. Provided all necessary docs, all of the invoices etc. Still checking something. Found "suspicious activity on my website". My website sells tables, and the activity was, guess what, someone bought a table. Very frustrating.
I understand everybody not happy but you got try it for yourself, so i did and tell you truth it its not all bad i never had problems with it and i had a website and account before the html5 came out. I never had problems once and they do reply really fast many some people didn't have lucky or never gave it a chance... even did something wrong only thing i dislike is plan prices but you might pay little more thats pretty it. If i were you i would give chance
Use WordPress instead. More responsive and aesthetically pleasing. Wix seems cheaper at first but the deeper you dig, you realize it will end up being more expensive with hidden costs for plugins. Even then it's not anywhere near as responsive- Wix doesn't look good on tablets... pretty much ever...

I'm using Wix on a daily bases for my 2CENTS UX Design & Strategy site and blog ( https://2cents.co.il), and I must admit that although the interface is great, and the themes are awesome, there's something disturbing in their sales mechanics (pushing you again and again to upgrade, even though I'm already a paying customer), as well as their offering within the free tools.
It seems like they did the minimum on each feature, just to check each box, and not invest into upgrading and offer a really exciting and rich modules, while promoting 3rd parties to develop premium features, e.g. the gallery module.
I've monitored it for the past 2 years, and nothing changed there (no new capabilities or designs...) It comes with a lame design, very minimal, and if you need something that looks better, you need to pay for a premium feature...
Wix is absolutely horrible. Our business closed due to financial difficulties caused by COVID. Only three weeks into a one year subscription, Wix refused to refund any of the money paid for an entire year. I will never use their services again and I would highly recommend others choose a different company to work with as this company treats their customers horribly especially during these difficult times. I'm extremely disappointed with their customer service.
They have just emailed me saying that their prices are increasing from £50.40 to £108! They are trying to justify this by saying that they have increased their storage and my website will no longer have 'wix' written at the top. Neither of these things I'm bothered about. Would strongly advise against using this company.
I had been using wix integrated with square as my pos quite happily until one day it stopped working after sending out a email marketing blast. Which I only found out after customers contacted me alerting me their payment info was not being accepted. I spent an hour on support from customer service who was friendly but had no idea how to fix it. They said they would get back to me in 48 hrs... so I switched from using the square integration to wix to accept payments (seems a little convenient that the bug they couldn't fix forced me to do this) tried to verify to send to my bank and all seemed well. $2000 of sales later and the next morning I get notified that I can't accept payouts because there is an issue verifying my account. Now with customer support again wasting valuable time. Freaking ridiculous. 2 hours wasted with customer service. Still not able to receive payouts.
Wix literally scammed me out of hundreds of dollars for a service I cancelled almost two years ago. Several charges since trying to cancel ranging from $170 - $300 each transaction. Contacting their support and abuse lines does nothing. They just keep running me around in circles and refusing to refund the money they stole. Stay away from this service! It will cost you more than it's worth!
I closed a small business last year while it was under a one year subscription and attempted to cancel my subscriptions immediately. I had a Premium Plan, Domain Name and eMail. With all online accounts subject to renewal I always turn off the 'auto-renewal', as I had with WIX. They ignored this and debited my bank account with another year's subscription. In other words they stole money from me. I've had to cancel my card at great inconvenience. After I finish writing this I will proceed to write to the American Ombudsman. I encourage all those that have been bitten to do the same. For the others contemplating using this company then don't. Also publish your complaints on fb whenever possible. We may not be able to put the senior officers in prison but it will help to make people aware of their 'shonky' operation. Note also tha their product is plagued with bugs. Please note, I tried to call the phone number above and it is invalid. Trying the support email next.
Wix only pay out on Monday's! Joke, who wants to wait days. That isn't disclosed during setup. I setup a business account. Had a webinar and after Wix received my funds now their telling me I have missing paper. You would think that would be a trigger once you accept funds. Very unethical. Debating if I should report them. There is no direct number. I Googled and found an 800 number but no live person. Definitely had better customer service with Go Daddy, at least I could reach a human on the phone. Do yourself a favor, don't bother.
Anything you add or change on wix editor does not end up the same on the live website, also it is very glitchy, and to make your site mobile is like having to redo the entire damn website. I hate wix! They are always worried about adding new features, yet the features that already exist seem to completely suck. What a seriously horrible website service. I want to seriously chuck my computer thru the wall after using their slow $#*! editor that constantly is messing things up. I could on for days about how much is actually wrong here, but I am sick of wasting my time with this crappy website. I have been using them for like 9 years hoping things get better but they dont, my advice is DO NOT USE WIX!
No customer support. Instead, you're forced into an AI chat that does not good or told to scroll through dozens of articles to find the answer yourself, and of course none of the articles have anything to do with your problem, and the AI chat spews out stuff that has nothing to do with it either. Going elsewhere for a website. **** Update. Finally go through to a live person b/c my website's formatting AGAIN suddenly looks weird and the customer service rep needed me to explain what the word "formatting" meant. And it got more and more incompetent from there. Glad l took the free version. Will be moving on.
I think it is amazind for beginners and those who are looking to make a quick portfolio. But personally I would like to see more serious tech features than fun store-builder game. But thats just my preference
I was sold on their customer service but found out it sucks! Over the phone they admitted it. I had told them what I wanted to do before I signed up I was told "no problem, we have experts that will help you", after multiple attempts finally one of their experts said it can't be done. I canceled my 1 year subscription but no refund. Worst platform for starting a store. Stay away!
I have had five wix sites over the past five years. Today, they made a horrific error in regard to my billing and it cost me a ton. There is no one to call. I just sit here sending countless emails requesting a callback. I am officially done with this company!
There is not enough space for me to go into detail about how bad this site is, so i will just list all the problems. Doesn't save, takes 5 hours to load, no paintroll option, glitches and deletes your whole site, super confusing, you can't insert photos half the time, and you can't delete anything.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..

Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
