I attempted to build a website with Wix.com about six weeks ago. Customer service is AWFUL. I should have known in the beginning, no real people, no "chat" without going through an hour of hoops. No help... period. They could NOT get my domain name to work. I paid $162 for the website... and never got it operational. I canceled within 14 days and they sent me an email showing a "refund." That was six weeks ago. NO REFUND has shown up in my bank account. I have emailed them every day for a week and they finally stopped responding to me. They STOLE $162 from me. Run from this company, take your business elsewhere.
Update: After 2 weeks of back 'n forth with customer service/support, Wix was in the midst of a price change which is the explained reason for the discrepancy of renewals. FYI.
I'll add - Wix will sometimes discount to current customers and not to new customers and vice versa. I have yet to figure out if there is a pattern to this or if it is random.
They do their renewals (charge your card on file) about a month in advance of the actual renewal date - so put a reminder on your calendar at 10-11 months out after you purchase otherwise, you'll be surprised, and not pleasantly.
I have four sites with Wix. Every year, they increase their price for current customers. But here is what it becomes fraud - when you go to the "change plans", the pricing on each of the plans, reflects the lower price per plan (what you paid the previous year - not what you're charged for the upcoming year) and thus, you are refunded for less than what you paid. It's fraudulent - pure and simple. And, as others have reported, their customer service is non-existent. Responses are computer generated and you'll just end up frustrated.
WIX is a borderline SCAM.
They will push you through clever wording, positioning, button colors and "Click Here Now" to get you to where they wan't you. My FREE website cost me $84 before I could get out of it. Their customer service was extremely illusive. Call the Support Line, you get sent to a Chat number. Get there and a message directs you to what is essentially email. It's not customer centric. It is misleading and professional "con" centric.
I'm aware of on-line scams and did my best to avoid the overwhelming "up selling" and misdirection. But they tricked me. I want out. Guess what. No so much as evening an order number.
So proceed with caution when dealing with WIX. They are more sly and practice than a "toss the ball at milk bottles" operation at the county fair. Be sure to count your change.
What a group of deceitful people.
Terrible platform... wish I'd had more info before I purchased it. Terrible customer support - links that circle back, no real support and a fake phone number that sends you back to the same link... crazy... call back service is shut down until further notice, no way to submit support ticket... are they going under, or just scamming people?
Website is impossible to use even for a programmer! Slow loading for customers. Need an app for shipping. Need another app for emailing clients. Need another app for newsletters. Want to change something? Their help is outdated. Have nexus in a state with county sales tax rates? It can't calculate it for you. And no partial refunds when you finally cancel them! "It's not their policy." Their policy is money grubbing and supporting terrorism in the Ukraine. Why should my money go toward persecuting my own church there? Criminals!
STAY AWAY.
I can not believe that no email address come with the highest payed package. I I can't believe that that was not made aware to me before I signed up and payed. I have 10 people working for me so that meant that it would have costed over £1000 just for email addresses.
This management decision made by WIX will be there down fall.
Stupid.
Watch for an auto renew that you never ask for... wait for the $220 to hit your account. They laugh at you... the last laugh is always had by honest businesses and this one won't stand the test of time. Disgusted.
Wix has allowed my business to have a professional website, accept payments and have really cool features. However, I had to deal with their customer support team a couple of times and they are some of the WORST I have ever encountered. There is no such thing as immediate service, you need to leave your details and in a few days someomne will call you. Staff lack the necessary knowledge and are not very helpful. You can tell they intentionally want to get out of accepting responsibility. One of the worst services anyone can receive,
They will hound you for credit card numbers, renewals, payment in advance, and then use deceptive tactics to keep you renewing. When names did not match up for site and service, I was hoodwinked into renewing for 3 years in advance for a domain I never used and did not want. They harassed me with over 4 renewal notices, and even after I deliberately did not renew, created a narrative that looked as if it was for another service with them. When it was discovered, they refused to refund, giving no reason after 3 attempts (they have only a call back and email which they carefully screen to avoid accountability). Also, their emails and other web services are marginal, since they have them arranged to maximize profits, multi-tasking servers so that email is tagged as spam quickly. This actually loses your customers for you. Stay away.
I guess, here are the most trustful reviews on this website. WIX had very low rating on Google, now it's hidden. Here is why I'm giving only 1 star. I build my website using WIX, spending a lot of time and paying for Premium account. It worked well, but then they changed something on this platform, and now there is no possibility to make changes on the pages I created earlier. Now I have to create them again! About 40 pages with a lot of items on each! Did they ever think of their clients, when decided to make it unavailable to make changes on the pages, created before? They did not even leave me a chance. I found out about this problem only when I tried to make changes on some pages. That could be enough to hate it, but that's not all. Beside that, their guides sometimes don't match the site's capabilities, and you have to find the solution by yourself. And often WIX works very slowly. Just pain in $#*!.
I have been trying to get a live person on the phone for two days, so we can get help with wrong information on our site, they don't have a number, I have been trying different routes and they all lead to absolutely nothing, trying to convince management to hire another web designer
They put spam all over their site and I use to be able to ignore it but then they put it at the top of the order page on your store so you have to scroll down or close the add to see orders. As you update orders you have to do this each time you come back to the page. This is time consuming if you are rushing to fill orders and do invoicing. They also nickel and dime you to death cause everything things cost more money. Their customer support is horrible in my opinion as they seem to be the bottom of the barrel in IT skills. Their website is like walking back in time before IBUYSPY was introduced so you really get old technology because their team of developers are not the brightest stars in the sky it seems to me anyway...
I have successfully used other e-commercer platforms. I am no novice. I tried WIX and set up my website only to find out their templates are not responsive like other platforms. That means you have to recreate the look of your site to be compatible with each size of phone, tablet, etc. It's the same as making 5 separate sites. All that time wasted and all the while you are paying them to suck up your time. I am not promoting any other platform. I am just saying PLEASE BE SURE the template you use is actually Responsive to the size of your initial Desktop format and no other adjustments need to be made.
I wasted my time (30 days) & energy and in the end, I learn you basically have no options to modify anything. Wix honestly sucks at everything. People who rate Wix 5 stars are newbies who don't understand what a website is. If you want an actual website Shopify is your best bet, but you will have to buy a paid theme.
Please tell me why I can't speak with a human with this company? The little "help" guidelines don't "help" at all. Just more of a time suck trying to find a topic that may fit your issue. FRUSTRING. It takes me 45-minutes to type an email address into the template. Each letter I type takes 22-seconds to appear. How is this helpful? Use any other site you're able. This WIX company isn't worth the time suck. I especially will not get the 14-hours of my life back.
I cancelled my domain with Wix and received confirmation from them that the domain was cancelled. I also turned OFF the auto renewal for payment of the annual invoice well in advance, but Wix still took the annual subscription of £74.25, plus a further £12.45 even though the domain was cancelled and the auto renewal was switched off. Wix refuse to give me he money back even though it is their mistake. They also are impossible to contact
Do not use these thieves it is a scam!
I have a problem with Wix sporadically freezing when I try to save a publish my product. This only happens on Wix on my computer and it happens infrequently enough that I forget to be hyper-villigent about saving every few sentences.
I sent in a ticket and I got a random response that indicated that only a keyword was observed which makes me feel like a robot answered the question. I tried to call the customer support center but random hours mean that they leave on Fridays at some ungodly early hour not matter what your time zone might be. Do go there.
Good luck trying to find a phone number. If you do, it only refers you to online support. Technical glitches abound with online suppory, including endless login loops. Email? OK if you don't mind waiting a couple weeks, despite endless follow ups. Use godaddy. Prominently displayed phone number, friendly helpful live people always available. Wix sucks. Good product can't make up for nonexistent support.
I have considered this and I think every poster on here should come together and let us take a class action against WIX. If more and more people come together and start taking these companies to the courts through the lay litigant avenue then these companies may just begin to treat their customers with the respect and support needed. Especially paying customers. You pay for a service, if such a service is not fit for service then it is a possible action of Fraud. Making the Directors personally Joinder in the court recordings with rogatory recordings, this can have real standing and meaning.
Wix is a great website builder, it didn't take long to learn everything and i'm happy how my website turned out. There was 2 things I did notice though, 1 thing was that you have to have the premium feature to attach pictures to forms, the other thing I noticed is that on weebly you can get one free domain, on wix you do not, otherwise I'm happy.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
Wix has a rating of 1.3 stars from 653 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wix most frequently mention customer service, credit card and premium plan. Wix ranks 149th among Website Builder sites.
