I can't begin to tell you how much time I have wasted fixing the same formatting issues over and over again just to discover that the wix editor has undone my work and apparently does whatever the f*<% it wants to do. Want your text center aligned? Wix will only do half for you. And every time you try to fix the half not aligned, wix will align that but un-align the text that was originally aligned. Both the website and phone editing is total crap. Currently I can see half my photos out of place on my actual phone. But in the editor there's nothing wrong so no way to fix it! As soon as I have the money and time I will switch over to a different platform. I'm so tired of fixing the same thing over, and over, and over, and over, oh and btw all my service photos just disappeared on mobile, oh. Fix that well here let's just randomly reformat your desktop site! Aggghghhhhhhhhhhhh! Save yourself the headache. The savings compared to other options just aren't worth the agitation of doing the same thing 50+ times.
I have been with wix for a good 8+ years. Now I got scammed by them. So they like to change their plans and prices. I had my current paid billing cycle coming to an end (last day June 6). I was intending to change my subscription to one of the options they had with 50% off and a bit less bells and whistles than i currently had as i ended up not using them all. I got charged 14 days early however (on May 22,2023). I call them right back to request a refund explaining the situation. They told me 1) The refund process takes up to 12 business days (!) 2) You are not guaranteed to get your money back! I'm sorry what? You charge me EARLY and tell me most likely i'm not getting my money back for a service that is not even take into effect for the next 2 weeks?! What the fudge. The customer service rep told me my best chances to downgrade is to go ahead and do it myself and used the applied credit (i.e. The money that got charged early from my card) to pay for subscription. I said okay, so subscription is 2 times cheaper than what I got charged, when are you refunding the rest? He said, they are not gonna refund the rest. They are already "gifting me" that great deal on promo. That promo was there for couple weeks now... I've always paid for each next year through promo... Anyways, I had to sub for 2 years in the end and lose about $60 in difference between credit that was applied and money that got charged from my credit card. I'm going to start building a website on a different platfom and wix are losing me as a customer. F u wix with your scammy shady policies.
I closed my account with Wix this year in May, 2017, and went with Linknow Media, a great alternative. I was happy with Wix, for hosting the site I had until i found out about LinkNow Media. I then closed my account with Wix and transferred my data and domain access to the other company. On July 29th at 07:42 am, I received an automated email titled, 'Your premium plan for (my site), will renew soon.' At 07:55 that same day, (13 minutes later), I received another email from WIX stating, "Your premium plan will be canceled". With no further emails received on my end, I noticed a $149.00 charge on my account on 12/22/17, from WIX.COM********. I tried to contact their company this morning on a Saturday, but they are only open M-F. I have since contacted my bank and filed a dispute against that transaction. I find it very dirty / fraudulent for a company to inform you that your account will be canceled, (months after I canceled it over the phone), and then make an unauthorized charge to my account. They did not even have the courtesy to send me an email stating the charge was made against my account for the renewal. To me, I find this to be a dirty tactic as well. These are the facts. You decide whether they are worthy for your business or not.
They dont even allow one time fee like most websites, KEEP AWAY! After working with their online editing it was decent enough but also too restrictive and it doesn't think outside the box.
I hired a Wix.com "pro" to design my site since the wix app is incomprehensible and unconnected from consistency and any time I was lucky enough to speak to someone they were only a little helpful, but condescending. His name is Rodney L. Bonner with the business name Cardinal Group Marketing Corp.
When I spoke to him the first time, he was friendly and after a few times, he finally got what I was going for on my website and completed some of it well. Then I didn't hear from him and got no answer to my emails or phone calls for months.
When I tried to stop his contributions to my site, I found that he had copied my site and my premium account with wix and put it on his own site with me as the admin so I couldn't get my site back since he was now the owner.
There's really no way to call wix directly. I had to email them and wait for them to call me back on their timeline. Their customer service really sucks. They carry no liability for the people they have on their "pro" list.
I regret ever using WIX and after a year of frustration and expenses I would never recommend them to anyone.
A designer calls and gives you a price and you pay half down. Then you get emails to start sending info and pics. They give you different emails for different things. They then ask for another payment. They then tell you they are not getting info that you sent. After a while you are told to send more money! You send receipts and find out three different people from around the world with no phone access are building three different sites and taking down payments!
You do not have any money left to pay for one site and they all have your money for finishing nothing! WIX itself will not call you! One person then let's you know they send your request out to six different people and you choose whom to hire. Would have been nice to know this ahead of making any payments!
WHAT A SCAM!
They sent this:
When you make a request on WIX, they automatically send it to six WIX Partners. As the client who sent the request, you get to receive six answers and six quotes and then you choose the person you want to work with. So, you should have replied to each email and saw the person you like and then go with him or her.
WIX is not a scam. Every partner is trying to make a living and they will respond to each request they receive. Try to understand.
I also felt like you were dealing with two different people since i gave you a quote for 860 USD but you pointed out that we had discussed 600 USD to 800 USD. Which wasn't the case.
Sorry about the 300 USD sir.
Cheers,
We are a wix platform web site client and have added payments, bookings and other addons. Some features are tricky to get configured correctly. The norm is that calls to support level 1 are a waste of time. They are not trained in guatemala and all they know is to transfer the call.
Average hold time is 1 hour to get level 1 and they say i am working on the problem - can you wait. 4 minutes later they never come back and they have transfered the call to another que and that takes one hour. Tickets are immediately closed and responded to with useless links.
Weh you have alive site and the features dont work, wix hax has NO regard for the urgency of the moment or customers time. The favorite procedure is to transfer and ignor.
When we get out of the weed... and we will... companies who behave like this will be remembered as the ones that make life harder and more difficult.
No one is accountable- no managers accessible and HQ staff have no emails or any wait to cry fro help.
We need it and this disrespect is just not nice.
I noticed that my email has been down for 3 days. I contacted my provider, myhosting.com and they notified me that I needed to update the MX record on my WIX site. I tried to log into WIX and couldn't remember my login. Since my email is down, I looked online for a way to contact them. Only way is to request a callback, which requires you to login. I tried to have them recover my account and password, which requires sending a copy of a photo id and the last 4 digits of the credit card used. I did this and got no response. Keep in mind I've been a loyal customer for 9 years at $20+ a month. Finally I created a free account so I could request a callback. When they called, they kept referring me to a team which only works via email. I explained the problem to a support person and then spoke to a manager. They won't change my mx record for me or rest my password... and now won't respond to email... so I'm effectively screwed. Not sure what to do as I've had this domain for 15 years and it seems I'll be forced to abandon it and my email.
I decided to close my account with wix. I had no idea the hoops I would have to go through to achieve it. The number of steps required to get to the page where you are presented with a Cancel button is ridiculous. Even then, you have several more steps before that process is completed.
Once that part is completed, you must go back to the beginning and choose each service and cancel them individually, repeating the same steps you already completed.
Finally, you must navigate to the payment method and cancel the recurring payment which requires you to select a reason at which point you can finally click the cancel now button.
I had chatted with someone prior to my auto renewal date and explicitly told them to cancel my account and make sure I never get charged again. I rcvd an email stating that it was done.
On the renewal date, I was charged again. I spent 20 mins trying to find how to contact someone. When I finally was connected to a person, it took another 20 mins to get to the point of them cancelling the auto renewal, again and was told it would take up to 20 business days to rcv my refund.
Companies that foster this kind of BS should be shut down and fined for their crap.
Worst company I've ever dealt with, aside from UPS!
F U Wix!
I started using WIX to try and set up an eCommerce website, nevertheless it proved too complex for me. I then decided to get help from a WIX Partner. I chose Daniel Rosado as he spoke spanish as well, and he seemed professional enough at first. Then he started sending me logo proposals and they were, very amateur to say the least. We went through the process iteration three times, and after 15 days of no progress and logos getting even worse (I had paid him 60%, at the start of the process), I asked him if he had anything to show me regarding the website. He did not, so I asked him to stop working on my project and to return my money, as this was going nowhere. He refused and insisted to continue working, and after two days sends me a link to a pretty much blank template with a logo and name, saying he had been working 15 days on that site and would not return any money. I of course complained to WIX, but they would do nothing, so I basically lost my money, received no site and most importantly, received no support from WIX, when it was them who suggested I use Daniel Rosado (danrricos.com). WIX needs to screen the people they propose, and the also need to take action when the partners they propose don't work out. I am very disappointed, I have been robbed of my money and WIX will do nothing, this person continues to offer his services through WIX.
They mess up and take no responsibility - I am now out of pocket and have wasted 2 days trying to resolve it with them
Inept customer service operators - they cancel your mailbox and then leave you to deal with Google to try and resolve it. Terrible SEO. Overpriced cost for mailboxes. For two days now I have spent 4 hours and still counting trying to resolve mailbox issues with WIX. I have had the phone put down on me. A WIX representative made a BIG mistake and cancelled the wrong mailbox on a phone call. I am now left to pick up the pieces of sorting it all out. I have made 8 phone calls over the past two days and I am currently holding to speak to supervisor. I was told "I will put you through to the supervisor now" and instead of being put through I am holding once again, 10 minutes so far... yet again. COMPLETELY INEPT SERVICE. I spend around £300 a year on wix products annually, and am now moving my websites and connected services as their service is a joke. Another company would try and resolve it's mistakes and offer financial compensation for two days of wasting my time but not WIX. They instead hang up on you and place you on hold and offer you nothing.
They simply say, there is nothing we can do (IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE!) and all the work is passed on to me to sort out my mailbox account that they cancelled. My new provider has also opened my eyes to how bad WIX is at SEO. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
They wont refund your money when you want to cancel domain purchase and they will lock your domain for 60days when you need to transfer it to other platform.
I purchased a premium plan to host my website, plus 2 gmail mailboxes. Had a lot of trouble setting up the site and could get no support, ever. Then the worst part is that the gmail mailboxes where not sincronizing as expected between devices. Learned the hard way I needed to switch to Outlook. I purchased a yearly plan and only used 1 month before I realized this was not what I needed. Wix will not refund me for the 11 months I am not using. I actually already purchased new mailboxes from Outlook, but have this expense for a Wix service I am not using. I talked to Google Support (which is nice) and they explained that If you purchase the mailboxes directly with them you CAN get a refund. So Wix is robbing customers and keeping the money. I have not been able to talk to anyone for 3 weeks. I only get robot answers. Worst of all (even worse than Wix robbing me) is that I need to change the CNAME records in my domain settings to re-configure my mailboxes to Outlook, and Wix will not let me! They are holding me hostage.
This is a terrible company, designed by experts in marketing to take people's money. They advertise that you don't have to be an expert to build your own site. But they will take advante of you if you are not an expert. Wix is a fraud.
Websites created on this platform are NOT compatible with Wordpress or others.
If one wants to change to Go Daddy or other hosting platforms, one has to create an
Entirely new website!
Since i have switched to wix there hasnt been a day where everything runs as it shold.
From my site showing up without an error page to sending emails and shoutouts which never works right. DO NOT USE THESE BUGS FOR YOUR BUSINESS. YOU WILL GET COMPLAINTS CLIENTS DONT RECEIVE EMAILS AND NOTIFICATIONS, YOU WILL LOSE MONEY COMING IN BECAUSE SITE DOESNT WORK, YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR BUSINESS. A BAD JEW OWNER THAT LIKE ALL BAD JEWS KNOWS HOW TOP ATTRACT AMERICAN BUYERS. THATS WHY THE COUNTRY IS IN RUIN AND WELL DESERVED
As an update to my previous post on Wix.com I would like to add the following in all due fairness:
I have not experienced any noticeable site -based upload or updating delays. Such problems might occur to users that have slightly incompatible browsers. I recommend using Mozilla's Foxfire and all works well.
Certain personal website additions are actually easy, provided that you know where to look and access the features. Figuring this out comes with more sit use, familiarity and experimentation.
Customer service is a problem if you rely upon their online support center. Call 1.800.6000. 949 and bypass the foolishness and waste of your time. You can schedule them to call you, but that could take a while.
Most frustrating is the long time between getting the Microsoft Bing controlled search engines (Bing, Google, MSN, etc.) to recognize and actively list your website. This can take several weeks to a month, yet you pay for the lost time. This may not be the fault of wix.com, but no party should get paid for services not provided.
Now that my www.motometercentral.com website is up, running, with the hits coming in and the traffic building I am generally pleased and my familiarity and mastery of the sitebuilder growing successfully. Just a learning curve issue.
Updating, enhancing or altering your site can be done on a very frequent basis without restriction.
I actually like this sitebuilder more and more once you know how to manipulate it. (Wish the mobile site viewer worked and views exactly like the regular desktop version. And, that the app worked with iPads and Mac iOS (8 or any other version).
This is the part where I would say if I could give them zero stars, I would! They recently stole money out of my bank account through the debit card that I used to have linked to my wix account. The business I had wasn't getting any traffic from the website that I made using the wix website editor, so I discontinued my premium subscription 10 months before renewal and removed my debit card from their system. On 8/8/20, I was checking my bank account to see what funds I had available and saw that I was several hundred dollars shorter than I should have been. So I looked at my bank transaction history to see what had been deducted and saw that wix had taken $224.19 out of my account without my permission or authorization. So, the first thing I did was call wix up and find out what happened and why they took money out of my account. They said that I had to put in a refund request and they would get back to me within 20 days. When wix sent me an email confirmation saying that I will get a response within that 20 day time period, they even confirmed themselves that I had unsubscribed to renewal of my premium subscription. How is it that they can take money away from me in 1 day but it takes them 20 to even get back to me with no guarantee of getting it back at all. My suggestion would be to not go with wix at all and go with a reputable company that other people have said that they trust.
I payed to upgrade my site so that the wix ad doesn't show. Right after I gave all my credit card details my computer rebooted by itself and I have not been able to access WIX eversince. I logged out and cant get back in. All of a sudden my email address is considered to not be registered with them so I cant even email a complaint. At the time that I PAID I was a LOGGED IN user with my name showing in the top right. I logged out and cant get back in and HAVE NO RECOURSE.
Most recently. The website changes now don't happen on the mobile version. So when you update the website you have to update the mobile. Total WASTE OF TIME!
I NEVER allow autorenew functions online for any service. Upon receiving their notice, I went in and removed the autorenew and canceled the service. They make it IMPOSSIBLE to contact them telephonically and emails go unanswered. When I finally got in touch with them a CSR walked me through cancelling again, she was very nice and helpful ( 2 days after the yearly autorenew charge), they literally ask you if you are sure you want to cancel 4 TIMES before it goes through! If you dont answer all 4 - the request doesnt go through. They refuse to refund ANY of the $264.00 charge even though I had cancelled previously well before the renew date (didnt go through so they say and they never received my email- copy attached below) and 2 days AFTER the charge was made. Why are they entitled to a 1 yr charge of my money for a website I AM NOT using! SCAM COMPANY DO NOT USE! Thank God for my credit card company that charges back against companies that do this crap!
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
Wix has a rating of 1.3 stars from 653 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wix most frequently mention customer service, credit card and premium plan. Wix ranks 149th among Website Builder sites.
