Run... Wix boasts about their invoicing system with the plan I picked so I sent invoices to my clients for which apparently has a payment tab on them (I had not planned to use their payments, only invoicing and the plan I picked clearly noted that). Naturally, my clients used the payment tab. Only for me to find out they hold the payments for what works out to be about 3 wks and charge a fortune in fees. Then today, 2 days before the payment was set to be released, they emailed me and said my letter from my bank proving my account was valid wasn't good enough, they need a statement. Well since it is a brand new business account, I do not have a statement yet so they told me to call my bank and get a certified letter which usually takes 48 hours and then they reserve 5 business days to review the letter so this will delay my payments EVEN MORE! All the while they charge a fortune for these payments and do not provide me an interest for the time they have illegally held my payments! Needless to say, this place does not know how to run a business and will COST you tons of money. Furthermore, when I spoke with Monica in payments, she was rude, sarcastic and unhelpful. This has been the worst experience yet and I will be finding a different website and invoicing software... within the USA!
It automatically renewed my premium plan when I had no clue and no email whatsoever about it and planned to move my website elsewhere. THEY SAVED MY CARD INFORMATION - SCAM THIEFS STEALERS I DIDNT AGREE ON THAT! No email whatsoever informing this. I chose 1 F*** YEAR PLAN NOT 2. It's against your own policy! I expect money back otherwise see you in court! This is not legal.
Scam-brings you in on the free but you have to pay to get anything worthwhile, not user friendly and by their Facebook "post by others'-incompetent to boot
All of Wix websites have pre loaded spyware for their advertisers to spy of your all of your customers. I don't know how they are even still around. To hell with the liars and scammers!
Need to get something fixed on my webiste. Tried calling customer support no answer, then they asked me to setup a call appointment 12 days out! I need my webiste fixed now, I'm loosing money.
They customer service sucks. They can't do $#*! about nothing. They don't even have a customer review page that just goes to show you they are not to be trusted. They are scammer.
Hi! I want a refund, because I forgot to cancel my Subscription. They should asked me first, I didn't know they're charging me automatically. Please, help. What do I do? I want my money back!
With premium plan must give at least one business mail like all others, makes no sense to have to buy the separate business mail, also when you decide to leave you have to remake the whole website...
They all say the same crapped til you are forced to upgrade because unless you are a computer genius, you don't understand a f in thing they say. I can explain in a dumb way the UN genius can grasp
My website was stolen from me by a third party that I hired and they claimed that the third party is the owner of my website. I asked to talk to supervisor and they refused to allow me.
This website doesn't let you have your independent ownership of your website you are trying to create. They also suck at letting you create your website.
The only good thing I have to say about wix is that in order to actually build your website they have easy to use features. Other than that since I have purchased the business account on wix months ago my site has been completely useless because the Wix Payments Team has been nit picking every little thing that's on my website and requiring that I change my website exactly to their liking while holding my money hostage. After complying with literally everything that they asked (mind you they told me to do the same thing to my website over and over again after I had already done it) they tell me that I just need to take my products off of my site completely in order to receive my money that I've already earned. You can't even get a hold of this payments department by phone and they take AGES to respond to requests via email. Since I can't properly run my business using this I will be switching to another provider ASAP. Except I can't do that until they actually transfer me my money that they're holding hostage, I've completed their last request weeks ago by taking my products off my website so that I can finally get my payout and switch providers and they have yet to do anything about it.
Apart from being a nightware to build a website, DON´t give them your credit card details: they will renew automatically and althought consumers have the right to ask for the refund under 14 days ( EU consumer law) WIX WILL REFUSE TO REFUND.
I DON´T RECOMMEND WIX AT ALL.
There would be sudden hike of 50- 75% of actual cost after 2nd year while renewing for 3rd year. Be careful while going forward or buying wix. Experienced by myself.
Super disappointing when you are starting a business and creating a web presence to end up with the most jacked up company, I did not research them enough apparently. I purchased the business premium website builder plan and they do not offer a mailbox with the site so I had to order a mailbox subscription. My domain is with GoDaddy and I get a free mailbox with my domain. I purchased this domain over ten years ago with no problems. After purchasing the mailbox subscription with Wix I found out you cannot have a mailbox with two different providers. So of course I wanted to get rid of the Wix mailbox because I had the GoDaddy mailbox for 10+ years. Trying to get a simple refund with Wix is such a terrible ordeal. This company has no customer service phone number and you have to submit a refund request of which they just deny you without explanation. I spoke with 4 agents all from Guatemala even though their callback number on my phone says San Francisco, CA. So right there you know they are lying fraudsters. Anyway, none can help and tell me I have to be transferred to "Advanced Billing" who are never available, not in the office, or can't be found. This "international company" mission is to take your money, keep your money, and get more money with renewals. Nothing else matters to them. The CEO and people on top must be reptilians because they are so money hungry thirsty. I would not recommend them at all. Just based on their customer service practices alone.
I tried out a trial of Wix. Since it's a yearly renewal and a lot of things happen in a year, I forgot about the automatic renewal. Most companies send a courtesy email before charging your account - not Wix. And it's not like a $20 charge. It's hundreds of dollars.
Sure, you can dispute it with your bank and they'll send the charge back.
But WIX will dispute the chargeback (they're sure to send you an email about the charge back and how you need to update your card information - so they are capable of emailing you).
So, even if you don't use the site at all, they still charge you and dispute chargebacks (never seen another company do this shady nonsense). Most products, if you don't use the service or product, you can return it. But apparently WIX thinks they should be able to charge you for nothing.
And really, even if I were using their product, it's extremely over priced. Several hundred dollars and there are much better sites out there. Their customer service is terrible too (not just about charges, but in general).
I canceled a premium hosting account for a domain name earlier this year but when the renewal came a few months later, Wix charged me, with the bill even indicating for a non-assigned website. WTF!? I have to cancel two things -- the account and the unassigned hosting? Folks, this is what you call unscrupulous billing practices; sort of what a typical bank likes to do.
So, when I brought this up to "Wix Support" do you think they saw it my way? Of course not. They ignored the sound logic of my request: that I in no way benefitted from hosting since there was no domain name to host. Instead, I got weird indifferent responses, like "sorry you feel that way." Feel? Wha? And "we cannot issue refunds after 14 days of billing." Absurd! Wix is outright stealing peoples money!
I gave them two chances to right the situation, even offering to accept some kind transferrable credit to someone who could use the hosting. Nope, I got the same robotic and indifferent reply.
My next move it to file a fraudulent charge report with my bank.
After updating my FAQ page I moved to the live site and there was a header added to the FAQ page I did not want, and did not put there, that said "General(r)1"? I returned to the edit screen to remove this header and when I did the entire FAQ page was deleted from the site. When I tried to restore the site to an earlier version the content from this page was completely gone. After communicating with 3 or 4 WIX support staff they informed me there was nothing they could do to retrieve my content. They also could not offer an explanation how that happened. They apologized and sent me an article the explained that when information is lost from FAQ app, as well as numerous other apps, the restore function won't work. This means you are at risk of losing your website content with no explanation or ability to recover the material - and they know this and won't change it... I obviously should have had a backup word doc in place but I also trusted that once the material was on the site it was safe. IT IS NOT. The customer service manager gave me a month free of the website but still could not explain how this occurred. Be aware that you may lose the content you've developed for you website and WIX knows this and can't resolve it.
This whole WIX is a scam. No customer support. Tons of phishing emails. No warning emails to take my money off my accounts. People don't use wix unless you want to be robbed.
I'm not sure how else to get Wix's attention. I tried to contact customer support when the editor became buggy. It wasn't creating links properly, randomly adding images to background - stupid things, but things the editor shouldn't be doing.
These aren't the things that get answered on a "quick-fix" support page.
Surprised to find no text support - that is common these days.
Phone number for support always receives a "we're closed" message even if I called during published office hours.
Put in email ticket after ticket. Only got one reply back after I took to social media to complain and then the one response was followed by - *crickets chirping* - silence.
Then I received an email today saying my ticket was closed because it was answered! Like hell it was!
I like some of the nicely designed features of Wix website building, but when my year runs out I'm going to have to switch services. I have a premium plan which means I'm paying their top dollar for a website but I can't get anyone on the phone - or text - or email - or semaphore - when I'm having a problem.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
