I already have a paid Wix site, so set up a few more. I was wondering why I was no longer getting any business through my site. It turns out they changed my URL from wix.com to wixsite.com. Needless to say, no one could find me, my old URL no longer worked, and the money I spend on business cards has been wasted. I guess I'm moving to their competitor. Goodbye Wix, you are dishonest, deceitful and you have ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT!

The former address, of username.wix.com/sitename, redirects automatically to the new address - username.wixsite.com/sitename, and the SEO reputation of the former address is retained in the new one.

Ever wanted to make your own site, without the programming knowledge - yes and with FLASH? And completely FREE? Well go on to this site, and you can. I know there is plenty of sites offering free website builders and templates similar but this one offers FLASH on addition to all the templates and you can add your own videos and images and stuff as well. I havent personally used them but ive bookmarked them for my future use most def cuz i would love to make my own site FREE which looks really cool. Theyve got like scores of sites made using their service so you can see how good they really are.

I read several articles online from what I thought were legitimate sources of info that said Wix is great... free. For trial as long as you like... best for small business... only 10 $ per month... only $20 per month... Well Wix obviously has enough money to control magazine reviews and fake positive press soHow THE F Does such a blatantly immoral and hated company get to that level? I: did not even find bad reviews on BBB site. Well I feel deeply sorry for all the talented people it must have taken to create the web-builder but their hollow greedy souls will dwindel away any satisfaction from that or anything else and as is a common scene at the corporate executive level-Your malicious and ridiculous greed and quest for fulfilment at the cost of the population shows Your unsecursifear. We ahess, and worthlessness at the human level. And then I pity them

Wix has sent me email reminders for every automatic payment until today when I was charged $149 with NO WARNING. The most concerning part is that they didn't even have my current card info or billing information on the site as I've moved across the country and gotten entirely new cards in the past year. This is an incredibly unfair business practice and I will be cancelling my account as well as the many client sites/accounts my company has set up via Wix. DO NOT GIVE THIS SITE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION BECAUSE APPARENTLY EVEN IF THAT CHANGES THEY WILL SOMEHOW FIND A WAY TO CHARGE YOU WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE.

Used to be OK, but something's going wrong

Been using for about 6 or so years and as I'm not a web designer was pretty happy with its ease to use and it being relatively professional looking. It was kind of easy to manage too.

Logged in today for the first time in a while to do some updates and they'd implemented some stupid colour scheme so had to go through the entire site and manually correct fix it all which was a complete waste of my time. Loads of fonts had also changed so again, had to manually fix everything.

My existing contact form had been replaced by something from MS Paint (alternatives were awful).

I've just been billed for the next year too at full price - if I'd just cancelled I could've got the same thing for 50% off because it's on offer. Awful loyalty reward!

Worst thing about the site is stupid limits on videos. Not only size/ duration of videos you can actually upload, but those limits apply to youtube, vimeo etc links. For an "unlimited" packed (seriously?!) I get 1 hour. Next package up gets 5.

I was looking at other options but looks like I'm trapped for another year because of the auto-renewal, but if things don't improve, I'm gone.

One of my biggest regrets in life to date has been choosing to use Wix as the website builder for my business. It has caused me so much grief, trouble and frustration and had an impact on my mental health. Unfortunately, I am so far into the process now that it's difficult to change. My advice to anyone would be to avoid this company. Their customer service and support line is non-existent. They do not help, avoid replying to you and most departments are only email contact (not via telephone). Therefore, any issues that need to be resolved are rarely done quickly. In fact I have an ongoing issue of two years. Just back and forth emails (2-3 weeks for them to reply to each one) and the issue never gets resolved. Furthermore, really basic functions never work. There always seems to be a technical issue or glitch. These technical issues can have devastating impacts on your business. My most recent issue is that suddenly wix decided to not allow customers become members to my site. Considering i am a membership based business, and becoming a 'site member' should be a basic function, I am absolutely shocked that this issue has arisen. No support, help or guidance has been given so far - just 'we need time to investigate'. I doubt I will hear back from there and will need to keep contacting them to get at least some response / acknowledgement that they are trying to fix it.

I am seriously so tired of this. I wish I never started with Wix. I think taking three years out to learn coding to create my own site from scratch would have been easier. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

After having a business site for over a year with Wix, they decided to hold payment on an item that was paid for through their credit card system. Paypal purchases went through without a problem. I make handmade kitchen items, including kitchen knives. When I called them up to find out why they haven't released the funds to my checking account, they told me that I sell weapons, and that might site is "under review".

First of all, I don't sell weapons, they are tools that people use every day in the kitchen. Second, why did it take them over a year, when they could have said it falls under their no "weapons" policy right off the bat? Third, why are they holding the money they owe me?

I've been wanting to go elsewhere for other reasons before this happened, but I had a year contract. Good thing it's up in a month.

Last but not least, when I spoke with the Wix rep, he reprimanded me several times for not knowing that kitchen knives falls under their no weapons policy... right up there with guns and ammunition. Even though it doesn't mention knives at all in their policy.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! They're looking for any opportunity to screw you out of your money. Just read the growing list of complaints...

Dear WIX Support

Almost a month since my site was erroneously restricted and unavailable.
You have apparently passed on the credit card imprint requested but still nothing.

It is a mockery of how you value your customers that this is how long it has taken, and we are still unresolved.
I have had to have an event with 50 people giving out samples for Three Dogs Approved that have a QR code that goes nowhere except the WIX - Not available page...

Totally ridiculous response which is nigh on contempt for your customers and how valuable their websites are to them.

I have now started to learn WordPress while I continue to wait, after a decade of loyal and devoted WIX usage on many sites, this service is so bad it is a travesty.

The wide variety of customer service response comments has suggested that you "understand" my frustration but the actions do not back that up.
I am so painfully disappointed a once wonderful brand has done so badly on this occasion.

I wanted to escalate this complaint but you don't have a mechanism for that, I wanted to get an adequate response to my needs but also not yet.

I am dented enough to tell everyone who asks website design to just say NOT WIX. Great design usage but APPALLING customer service.

I invite anyone to adequately respond or get an email from anyone who cares how bad this experience has been.

I will not hold my breath for either.

I need an outlet for this appropriate frustration. I will find it eventually.

Poor Service

I was waiting for an Expert call and canceled all my other appointments, unfortunately, haven't received any call or email from Wix team. Spending a big amount and getting the Business VIP plan mentioned Priority customer care Service. It's all useless. Spent more than 2 months uploading the products and now feel like it's all in vain. There are no options like buy 1 and get 50% off. Just for discussion need to wait for a few days and the result is a BIG ZEROOOOOOOOO.

Within the last week WIX has taken a renewal payment from my credit card for twice the amount I paid for my site last year. I never had a warning email from them as it disappeared into my spam box, so I no chance of de-activating the auto renewal in time. I have requested a refund from them and am waiting for a response but judging from the comments here, once WIX has your money you won't hear from them again.

A hike from £55 to £111 plus for a year of hard to build website and awful customer service is surely unjustified.

Reading here I think it's unlikely that I will get any refund from WIX or even be able to talk through these issues with anyone from customer services.

The other thing which really concerns me is that I cannot take my credit card details down from my account page, despite the fact that I have cancelled my plan with WIX. Surely this is not legal? It says a lot that a company has to resort to underhand and "small print" ways of extracting hard earned money from small businesses and craftsmen rather than offering them a decent service and transparent way of working with them.

As someone else has said here "Absolute rip off merchants!" I'm disgusted.

Consumer BEWARE!

I subscribed their domain and email(google email) services in 2015. I am on their Premium plan. Back in 2020 my company faced harsh reality due to Covid19 and we had cut our expenses where possible. Therefore in Sep 2020 we had to delete 4 email accounts out of 8 (total annual charge for 8 email accounts is 868$ CAD). So I thought my email expenses cut by half and should be 434$ CAD in next billing cycle. But On Sep 4,2021 invoice we still got charged for total of 8 emails for 868$. It was definitely Billing cycle and requested half of the payment back since I only had 4 emails by Sep 4,2021. Unfortunately to my surprise Wix refused to investigate and resolve my issue. Instead they showed me middle finger. They mostly don't take phone calls, easier way was to contact them via their chat but it useless. I had contacted them about 7 times, every time I had to explain everything from the beginning despite the fact that trouble ticket was created on my request.
They are very dishonest and disrespectful people. I wonder how they conduct business with the rest of their customer base. I already requested service cancellation.

Very BAD experience, I believe it's theft by corporate company.
Stay away from WIX!

It is SO expensive! I wanted to sell my jewelry online, but I have to pay $192 a year to sell, and that's their BEST deal! Their worst is over $500 a MONTH! I do not recomened this to you, or to anyone.

100% beware. They disabled my store and have been holding ALL my store revenue in their (verification) loop for over a month. However, I used to receive payments just fine. Somehow, the rules can suddenly change and no matter how much proof I send to them that I am ME, THEY REFUSE TO VERIFY MY ACCOUNT.
Customer service is a dead end.

What I learned the hard way: Wix falsely advertises AdSense as a monetization option but it turns out that their sites are illegible to AdSense text crawlers. So Wix has robbed me and many others (the issue is all over the help forums) who have paid them money to build our sites on their platform under the pretense that we'd be able to monetize via AdSense, only to learn that we can't. They deny the issue outright and chalk it up to the AdSense application process, but it's BS. The AdSense forums make that clear.

WIX SUX

I believed the hype that wix was easy and it wasn't. Tried to get past the wall of menu options then ended up in another country with a live operator. Who always referred me to someone else. Waiting and waiting and waiting. I ended up begging them to give me a refund.

I would have loved wix if it had and expert available to just give e some simple guidance. But that was obviously not important. They got my money and looked the other way. What's worse is the books on shelves for WIX all have poor ratings. And the online learning center was useless. They race through each session and even using the speed settings on the video didn't always address my issues.

There was mounting frustration for 48 days until I gave up and told them they won. They completely shut me down to the point I was unable to even think about making a website.Several times I was almost completely done making the site and everything disappeared into the ether. Never to be seen again!

If you advertise your product is easy and drag drop elements will make your site professional in a day. You will attract artists and other non technical customers. But, this WIX System is deceitful in that they sell that line of ease and the second punch is to refer you and encourage you to hire a professional from their teams. An expert who rapes your wallet for hundreds of dollars and has a constant access point to the back door of your site afterwards. They claim the access point is to assist if a problem occurs but in this day and age of hacking and companies in the tech industry laying off people by the droves. Can anyone trust this business plan?
