Just posting up my wix review on how bad my whole experience was using them.
From all of the advertising I have been seeing I thought that they must of been a good business, sadly I was wrong and it has been a nightmare.
I built a website using a wix template which I found very restrictive, not as easy as they make it out to be. The system is very old and hard to use and making simple updates such as changing content or images proved a major issues at time.
When I sent through an email for support I did not hear anything, waiting 5 days and had to send another email, ion the mean time my business was suffering due to an unprofessional website online.
It is also very annoying that you could not just pick up the phone and call them, needless to say I waited 14 days with no response so decided to cancel my wix account.
I noticed after cancelling my wix account they were still charging me so I had to cancel my credit card so they could not take any further money out.
Be aware and DO NOT USE wix.com
The new way of doing things in this site is really bad - it used to be a lot better before. There are an unbelievable amount of little glitches and flaws that make this program almost unusable if you want to make your site look any good. They advertise freedom in creating on here but really this program is very limiting with what you can do with ease. You need to find loop holes to make simple things work because of how bad the glitches are.
Also, at least for me, the way you format in editing mode does not turn out the same when you publish it. I worked so hard to make everything look nice, just for it to publish as a complete mess. After that point, it's guesswork to try and make it presentable on a desktop. It's hard to believe this is a large, established company and not some beta version of a brand new program.
Let's just say it took me a least three times as much time to complete something on Wix as opposed to using a platform that works properly. I highly recommend using literally any other program to help you create a website. I regret ever using Wix.
I "opened" an online store, spent a fortune on marketing, only to find that a "technical issue" was preventing anyone from purchasing. After 5 days, all I'm getting told is that they are working on it and that there is nobody I can talk to or complain about. THE WORST MISTAKE I EVER MADE!
Just bought the VIP Membership level yesterday for the added level of customer support which I knew I would be needing as I am more of a direct communicator when I am working on a project. I would rather call and get an answer to a specific question than spend my time filtering through FAQ's.
Called support today to ask an extremely simple question; "what does your productivity tracker actually track in your app? What counts as a session?"
I was put on hold twice by two different departments, only to be told "we don't have an answer for you, sorry." I told them that I was disappointment to say the least as I would expect that my membership price tag should at least grant me the answer to a simple question about the functionality of my purchase which their website does not clearly define.
Wix. I wished we could have a good relationship. I guess the only relationship I will be having is with your features, as they are described, for the next year that I have paid for- with zero support.
WIX IS THE BEST WEBSITE BUILDER I HAVE COME ACROSS AND I LOVE IT! IT'S PERFECT FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE. BUT FOR THOSE WHO NEED A MORE THAN WHAT WIX OFFERS ( AND BELIEVE ME, THEY OFFER A LOT!), WORDPRESS IS PROBABLY YOUR B EST BET. BUT PRICING IS MUCH BETTER AT WIX AS THEY PROVIDE QUALITY SUPPORT, A FREE DOMAIN, AND FREE HOSTING!
-JUST ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER
Been promised 100 euros for a damaged cause but haven't received anything.
Terrible experience. I wish I could give them a 0. Managers just lie to people.
I am a sole proprietor and every penny counts as I start up my business and budget for diapers. I feel completely robbed by WIX. I have worked very hard to follow their suggestions so my page can be found in a search to no avail. I have a pay account so I am not a free loader. I can do any combination of searches to find myself and even on page 20 of google I am nowhere to be found. I really hope someone looks into this to determine if they are in violation of any advertising laws. I am so devastated after spending countless hours trying to create my page and then find it online. I have researched and tweaked and tinkered but WIX does not deliver! My peers who used other methods of creating pages such as square space show up on the first page of a google search and they did not pay any additional money to google for this. There does not seem to be any customer service at Wix and they have made it very hard to rate them or find out about them since apparently they didn't use WIX alone to create their advertising propaganda.
I've purchased many products via WIX over the past few years, and I'd consider myself a good customer (though I learned today, not at all valued by WIX). Today, I contacted WIX customer service after noticing a recurring charge for an email address product that was never used. The email was apparently connected to a domain/website that was set up for a few weeks only, for market testing, and then canceled approximately 9 months ago. WIX has been charging me for this unused (never set up) email for the last 9 months. Shockingly, WIX refused to refund this charge. I did not intend to have this email. It was a mistake. I did not and would not intentionally agree to the terms of having this email. Yet, WIX refused to assist a long term customer to correct an obviously mistaken charge. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Extreme display of corporate greed. Very displeased with the result.
For months we have been trying to update the account details for WIX Login as the previous email is no longer accessible. We have tried to contact by phone but you need to login to WIX to set up a help request to schedule a call back. There is a verification process to send a request but no one answers the request. To date we have attempted the same request 5 times since July. I guess the only way would be to stop payment for the site. Then it will become inactive and maybe go somewhere else. It should not be this difficult. Up to now the set up and ease of use convinced us that we made a good decision. Should there not be a general inquiry or a place to submit help that is effective, with some initial information to get a response. So much time has been wasted on the request to get access to the account. Given that the business recently changed locations, it has been impossible to change this information. Therefore, it has created significant confusion for our client base, who visits the wrong location. I wish they had better access to customer service. Previously we would have given them an overall rating of 5 stars; however, now they are not making the grade and we need to look at other options.
I have used wix for years. The website side of things is great. Once you start using Wix payments that's when you start feeling like a criminal. I have never had a charge back, a customer complaint. However they decided this morning that they're not going to pay out my payout that was due today. Apparently my website was not compliant. Even though there hasn't been an issue in all the years I've had a website. So now my employees will not be paid tomorrow. There is no phone number to contact anyone. They do not respond to emails. They just make you feel like a criminal without any explanation. I would stay away from them at all cost. They have ruined my business, reputation and my ability to pay my employees. They lack human dignity. They lack common curiosity and respect for their fellow man. Regardless of what their response will be I can show anyone that they are liars. That they don't responded and didn't responded. They of course will make me out to be this awful person. Just watch! They will only try to protect their reputation at my expense
First you have to pay for getting a website on Wix before you can look at how it works. I bought a website and domain name, based on reviews, and then tried to build the website. It is very complicated and despite having online tutorials it is not user friendly if you are not used to building websites. They do have live person support and the woman I worked with was very nice and helpful, but even she admitted that the WIX is difficult to use. And the website that we spend about an hour starting together was no where to be found, despite saving it, when I logged back in later to work on it. One thing I really hate about Wix is when you log in it takes you back to the pages asking you to pay for a website and a pay for domain name. Navigating to the website you have already started is like finding a needle in a haystack. I have had to start over 3 times as the save function does not seem to work well and/or finding your already paid for and started website is exasperatingly difficult. They promote their website builder as being user friendly, but then suggest that you hire someone to build it for you and they have outside designers listed that charge at least double what you already paid to Wix. I honestly don't know how Wix has gotten so many good reviews as it is awful and a waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere.
Absolutely abysmal! Don't use this service if you want control of your website and email. We had an employee set this up five years ago, and then they left under bad circumstances. I didn't realize our annual renewal was charged to our debit card that expired, and they shut down MY EMAIL ACCOUNTS! WITH NO WARNING! They won't give me access, although I am the only admin employee. They will not give the owner of the company access. THEY EVEN REFUSE TO TAKE A PAYMENT TO GET OUR EMAIL SERVICE BACK UP AND RUNNING! I have been going round and round with them for four days. They are absolutely useless. I can't get access to my contacts or any of my saved emails. BE WARNED -- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
Can't even do something simple, like get a photo onto your blogs correctly. Very frustrating. If your blog is important to you, you will be frustrated.
My experience with Wix is that it is indeed quite easy to use HOWEVER be prepared for lengthy waiting periods to get answers from tech support if you have trouble. I am so disappointed with their service over the past 12 months (been with them for 5 years) that I will be moving to Shopify.
They were extremely vague when it came to what the plan had to offer and when I bought it I didn't even get date booking for a plane meant for "Entrepreneurs & Freelancers" when I tried to call them they said I had to pay an extra 100+ dollars just to get that so I asked for a refund and they said that they were going to keep the 20$USD for the domain because of some policy that is not clearly stated anywhere on their site or when purchasing it now I'm just stuck with no website time lost and 20$ out of my pocket thanks, Wix.
I had a very negative experience with Wix previously. They charged me an annual subscription for a site I cancelled a long time ago.
I tried to remove my billing details from their site a while ago but was unable to do so. (Their site is not user friendly). O in order to avoid being charged again I cancelled my previous card so they would not be able to take another payment. However, although I changed my card details to avoid being charged again, there was a small section in their T&Cs which stated that even if you changed your card details they can still take a recurring payment. When I emailed them to explain there had been a mistake and (as they could obviously see I don't even use the site and haven't for almost a year) did not mean to sign up for another year they refused to give me a refund.
I understand that sometimes these things happen, but sites like Amazon can be pretty reasonable and offer refunds for these mistakes. To think that Wix obviously relies on sneakily taking subscriptions and refusing to refund them even though it's obvious the user isn't using the account, is quite telling of their ethos as a business. Also, the Customer Service experience was dreadful. I would not recommend this site to anyone as there are plenty of blogging sites out there who are more focused on your experience as a customer of theirs and less on wrongfully taking your money.
I have had the most horrific experience with Wix, Their VIP support includes numerous members of staff playing guessing games with DNS records, Wix is not suitable for business websites, because they don't have the support that is needed for when customers need help
If you have a business, I would not recommend Wix. All that jargon about VIP priority support is not true. You can wait months and still not have any resolve, this can be for important things such as DNS or a your content being changed.
They are a bunch of foreign thieves who charge your credit card without authorization and without any prior notice, then make it impossible to get your money back and difficult to cancel a subscription. By the time you remember you have their service they've already made off with your money. There is no one to talk to by phone and the (no phone number published on their website) business address is in a foreign country: 40 Namal Tel Aviv, *******, Israel. I suggest you use a US company that takes care of customers instead of finding deceitful ways to steal your money and then hiding behind the Internet or a website AND DON'T USE ANY COMPANY THAT HAS A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE OR CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION AS SOON AS YOU SIGN UP! They charged me 2 weeks before (9/25/23) the subscription was due to be renewed on 10/09/23 and provided no prior notice, no information on cancelling the service, and no digital or printed copy of any contract or subscription agreement.
I have been with Wix since December last year and I am truly disappointed. I have since found out that it falls short on a lot of technical features which would help bring my site up in the Google rankings. The SEO are limited to 10 words and although Wix say that's not important, a lot of experts disagree. The worse thing is the mobile view. Every time I add or edit something to a page, I have to redo the whole mobile page. Also, it never displays properly, well, it does on their mobile view but not on a real mobile. The customer service is very up hazard, sometimes it's good, sometimes they take the easy option out and give you a link to their help menu, even though I've already told them that the instructions on a particular help feature didn't help. Because I live in the UK, I have to wait for the time difference, and sometimes I have to wait two days for a response and have to pick up the phone. I spend far too much sorting out my website problems and much less time running my business. I have decided to end my contract early and ask for my money back, I have signed up with a professional designer, I don't want to risk going with someone else and find the same or a different problem. I have been told by friends that Square Space is good, but do check reviews from customers, not magazines!
I, too, have a problem with WIX. The bait and switch stuff is true, yes. But, also, something else...
THEY MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CANCEL SERVICE OR REMOVE YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD INFORMATION.
This is a bad red flag for ANY company. "We cannot remove your credit card information". Whatever. All you have to do on Amazon is click DELETE MY PAYMENT INFO and it's gone in a flash.
I had to cancel my premium subscription (which I did to begin with), then I had to delete my site (which I did to begin with--and they HIDE the DELETE SITE BUTTON, lol)... HOWEVER, they don't tell you that you have to delete your site from TWO DIFFERENT PLACES ON WIX in order to delete AKA "destroy" your account.
Really?
NEVER AGAIN.
One star. I wish I could give it zero.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
Wix has a rating of 1.3 stars from 654 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wix most frequently mention customer service, credit card and premium plan. Wix ranks 149th among Website Builder sites.
