SCAM - DO NOT USE WIX

The reason they have income is because their website is well-known, and they are able to trick newcomers into paying full-price for their horrible services. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They will charge your credit card without your consent. They have zero customer service representation. Their actual service is subpar. Use squarespace, you're better off.

THIEVES

($590+) will not refund or prorate after canceling subscription 2 years early, credit card will side with Wix and chargeback after dispute. My entire profits and start up costs went into Wix now I am down $600 and have no website. Stay away from Wix if you don't want a money pit for a website. They will not work with you to prorate 2 years of unused service and all the time I did use Wix it was spam to use SEO. They aren't real customers visiting your website they are trying to make more money off you.

Wix consultants always blame their users for the slow loading sites. I have modified my wix sites many times to improve the loading speed according to information provided by Wix (consultants). But the changes did not help. Wix consultants make their users waste time and efforts giving users useless advice to conceal their own faults, knowing that the slow loading actually comes from their heavy engine, not from the contents of sites in most cases. Otherwise they are foolish. I have tested, with http://www.webpagetest.org/, one premium wix site with only one blank homepage, one text word "test" and a domain bought from WX. The test results show 5 seconds in USA and 13 to 30 seconds in Russia.

Wix shoud not make a fool of their users any more. Wix, blame yourself and improve the loading speed by yourself!

Proceed with caution

Probably fine if you are building a simple, low-traffic brochure site for a local service. Completely unfit for any other purpose.

The Wix salesperson promised far more than the platform could deliver. We were sold a two year subscription up-front. Wix's technical support could not help with the persistent problems (our site was constantly crashing, and we were unable to update our content). After a few months of this, we switched back to using Wordpress. The whole Wix experience was a waste of time, money and resources and set our business off track quite considerably.

Once we moved our website back to Wordpress, we asked Wix for a refund for the second year of our subscription. Their support was very responsive in this instance - but only to explain that because by this point we were a few days into our second year, they could not offer any kind of refund at all.

If you are expecting any kind of significant traffic to your site, remember that you have no option but for Wix to host your site on their servers which appear to have no capability of scaling up or down according to demand. If your site is going to have a significant number of pages or plug-ins, or could develop in this way, it's likely that this will cause their software to crash. In many instances we lost days of work this way.

Tradespeople looking for an online presence, fill your boots. Otherwise, I'd say steer well clear.

I love wix

I absolutely love the Wix website builder. All their different designs are beautiful to look at and easy to adapt to your own requirements. People should appreciate how much effort and skill Wix put into making this service available. For my part I use it as an artist's portfolio to share pictures of my paintings and photo-artworks with my old friends at Mansfield Art College and the Royal College of Art. The colors of my paintings and photo-artworks are accurate when they are uploaded to the Wix website, and they are well supported by easy-to-use written text. The page layout design is well organized and allows me to display my paintings so that viewers can access them with no difficulty. As an example just take a look at my own portfolio (http://davidpoyser.wixsite.com/portfolio). It's not a business, just a really professional way of sharing my pictures. As an artist I do appreciate good design and Wix certainly provides that.

WIX is a RIP OFF

WIX promised a refund for a charge that was not authorized and has been giving me the run around for the past 7 weeks even though I presented absolute proof that the charge was unauthorized and not refunded.

WIX's customer service is some of the worst online customer service I have experienced. "Pass the buck" and "Let's not answer his questions" must be the pinnacle of your customer service support. Despite having multiple upgraded and paid sites, multiple emails, etc... they make ZERO effort to try to fix a problem. Moreover, they have no interest in actually compensating you for some of the crappy tech that they offer as widgets, which don't work at times. And because they didn't create it - they hold no responsibility DESPITE some of the issues being persistent to these widgets for OVER FOUR YEARS. Disgusting level of service. DISGUSTING.

I created a website with Wix and they use Authorize.net to process CC transactions and I never got any of my CC payments and they are idiots and don't have any idea at all at how to run a website company

Wix not very honest

We had an account with wix for 1 year and renewed. Next thing they suspended the shoutout service saying our company violated the terms of use without any proof. They refused to returm our funds. They want to keep the money without providing the service

They want to do some checks and verify some things about the sellers and I understand that but they should do it before they take your money for a subscription or at least before you start accepting payments.

At the moment they are holding illegally! Payments for 3 weeks now and an amount of £2700.

Someone is sending you an email requesting all sorts of things and when you provide these to him then he is reffering the case to someone else and from the start again and the worst part is not that, it is that they are asking documents that they shouldn't be asking and that you have to wait 3-4 days before the next reply.

I am calling them and when you are talking on the phone they are are all fine and they will act very helpfull until you hang up, then they forget everything.

Now I completely understand why nobody recommends them!
Too bad we don't read the review in advance!

WIX is the worst!

I am a site "owner" of wix I paid a designer to design my site they never changed the ownership over to me so I contacted Wix they told me there is no way to transfer ownership even though I have given them all proof and documentation that I PAID A DESIGNER to design my site! I cannot get a hold of the person who designed the site apparently he RAPED a person and now reside in PRISON! IVe been on countless phone calls and sent more then 10 emails! Still no resolution. They have Bots responding to emails. I cant change anything on my website nor can I book on my website! I hate WIX they are full of $#*!! Beware of using this platform! SIgned a agree customer!

There's no doubt you can build a great looking website using Wix in a relatively short period of time... but you can't test the essential features like member login until it's published on a live domain... then the Wix business model starts to bite... for example if you want to send a 'thank you' email to people who become members of your site you get hit by a subscription model that's a TOTAL RIP-OFF - £57 A MONTH IF YOU WANT TO SEND OUT MORE THAN 20 EMAILS... you're only allowed 3 for free... and despite what they say sending yourself a test email DOES count against that... so it's incredibly misleading saying the service is 'free'... trying to rip people off on such a basic feature is a ridiculous business model and ensures that no one with any sense will ever use the product again. It's a shame... great website builder wrecked by greed...

Fraudulent billing

I've never done any business with WIX but out of the blue they started billing my credit card for a subscription I never signed up for. In fact I had never even heard of WIX until until they started billing me. I've reported them to my states AG office for fraud.

I have used Wix for many years, went to a competitor for a year (Shopify) and then back to Wix. I like everything about it except for one thing - their 'use a Wix partner' option.
I have recently used one of their recommended SEO merchants who they now say they don't recommend only for that person, Michael at frontlineweb, to not only undo but reverse 6 years of in-house SEO. If I was just reviewing Wix I would give them a 5*, but as they won't step in and take this company to hand, I have no option but to give them a 1*. I am not saying all their 'partners' are this bad, but this one is, and if they are going to 'partner' with them, they should take some responsibility when it comes to that 'partner' screwing up your whole business!

Extremely Rude
July 20, 2021

I sent a few inquires to partners of Wix based of Wix's recommendation. I kept getting a call from an unknown number but no voice mail so I decided to call it back. When I called a man named Alex answered. I explained I had a missed call from him and his response was "yeah it's Alex" in an annoyed tone "you put in a request for me to reach out to you" I responded "is this for a website?" He then irrelevantly said "no I'm pretty sure you put in the request" but in a very agitated tone now. I said "I understand that, I used wix to reach out to several of their partners are you one of their partners?" At this point he hung up on me. I still had no answer to who this man was other than a name and him saying I put in a request for him to call. He never said what business he was with or that he was associated with Wix. I then looked up the phone number I found the company Graphic 2 Traffic which is a partner with Wix. I will not be using any partner with Wix if this is how they conducts business.

Don't use WIX
July 24, 2020

We joined WIX in January after doing much research and was told positively there would be no issues with selling CBD online through them. It is now July and we still are not up and running with a payment provider. Why? Because WIX does not integrate with the CBD merchants. Oh they say they will but they don't. We literally had to go to shopify in order to sell online. When we requested a refund since the site had not been published at all - WIX declined within a hour of the request. They did not even refund the remainder of the year which will not be utilizied at all with WIX. Funny they have a webinar coming up on how to sell CBD online with WIX - Don't believe the BS.

We are a real company with real data, all verified everywhere else, so they let us sell, collect money, ship our orders, then KEEP OUR FKN MONEY!

When i signed up for 1 year I made 100% that the auto renew was turned OFF. Made sure several times because I was afraid of getting charged again and it really wasn't good service anyway and our accont wasn't being used. Then a year later i was charged $300 on my credit card. Double the $150 i originally signed up for. INSANE. They claim it was on auto renew and now on a premium plan. Which is completely false. Wix.com is in the habit of making money on autorenewal (whether or not they've been turned off by the customer - wix controls the backend - they can turn it back on and upgrade your account). Complete FRAUD. I am working with credit card fraud team to get the charge off as wix was very very unhelpful and would not refund the charge.

I really don't know how in the world there's a good review for Wix, they are Just about the Worst Company Ever.

Costumer Service is a Joke, there's none, since it never work. They don't care, and they probably pay a lot of money to have good reviews.

As soon I can, I take my website out of the junk. Enough is enough.

I tried, I tried and I tried, I contact them, I ask them to phone me, they just don't care, they continuously sending me the same stupid answer refuse to call me.

It should Ring the Bell when a company don't have a Phone Number for you to Call, That says a lot, we just ignored, and as result, I'm paying the price because os so much Fake Review. Well, it can't be true if there's any good review about this company, they are Just Bad and don't care!
