For years, Walmart's brick and mortar location has been affectionately referred to as Walley World by several patrons in particularly it's late night early morning shoppers. Being as Walmart is open twenty-four hours one great way to avoid the crowds and shop in peace. It's also handy if you happen to be one of Americas late night workers or someone like myself who suffers insomnia. With all the great prices and variety, the store offers in the middle of the night it can resemble Disneyland for adults shopping in the wee hours.

Now that we are in the technological age shopping just about anywhere at any hour is possible and you don't have to leave home to do it. Walmart.com is a great website to comparison shop and offers the traditional wishlist that is a tremendous feature for keeping track of all your treasures while you surf away in search of a better deal. Just don't be surprised if you navigate your way back to Walmart and your wishlist. The deals are hard to beat and Walmart.com has an enormous inventory of well-known brand name merchandise. It's hard to find a competitor with prices that are lower. Honestly, I don't know how they do it. And with most of your purchases, if you choose you can arrange to have them ready and waiting for store pick-up. If you are not impatient like I am and don't mind waiting a couple of days for your recent acquisitions the delivery charges are very reasonable. Often they offer free delivery as a sale perk.

Walmart.com just like it's brick and mortar counterpart offers a wide variety of merchandise so you can find the quality you're in search of and if you are unhappy with your purchase honestly I don't know of any store who's return policies compare to Walmarts. The customer service should you need it when your shopping the internet site is equal to what you would expect to find in a Walmart employee. They are always extremely friendly and helpful. Now if we could just get them to change the URL to Walleyworld.com! LOL

I've been buying from the Walmart online and physical store for years, so when I recently broke my wax burner, I was planning to replace them with the inexpensive Mainstay ones.
In the last month (Sep 2021), Walmart.com decides to change the Shopping cart page to a widget on the right of this screen. Now instead of scrolling through a webpage that loads about 20 different items per page, the widget loads about 6 items before it has to buffer to show more. Likewise, the checkout is also through this widget instead of a page. I don't mind widgets for browsing (like on Amazon) but when someone is ready to checkout, they probably want to see a full view of what they're buying and have the security of not checking out through a flash program. For example, if a person has 60 different items in the cart and wants to find 1 specific item, it's easier to look through 3 web pages than scrolling 1hrough 10 buffering flashes that are 1/5 of the screen- no?
I contacted customer service via chat today (13/Oct/2021) and got an agent named, Jullien Grace. I ask if Walmart.com still has a webpage that displays the cart and he responds that Walmart.com can be used to buy items. Mind you, the chat is created from Walmart.com. Then I specify by telling him the issues I'm having viewing the shopping cart and he gives me a link to my purchase history. I then ask again if there was another way to view the cart other than using their widget. I exampled Target's cart page to illustrate the type of html page I was asking to see. Jullien Grace responds saying the cart is located on the right of the screen.
I'm only giving Walmart and extra star because their online store does have the inexpensive Mainstay brand.
Walmart.com Customer Service: I implore you to do better. It's clear Jullien Grace knew nothing about what I was referring to and instead of just stating he was unsure- throughout the chat he gave no aid, knowledge or solution. It was almost as if he had never visited Walmart.com himself.
Walmart.com Web Technicians: Change or revert the cart page. I refuse to use a widget to checkout and view a large cart.

Spent 3 months trying to return an item purchased on walmart.com which was not what I put in my cart and not what I ordered. I attempted to return in store and was not allowed to do the return there. Their online system does not work. I was told I had to log into an account that doesn't exist in order to return the item and get a refund. Called and tried to chat with multiple representatives/supervisor and just got the run around. Didn't even know that I was not purchasing from Walmart but rather a third party vendor. Third party vendor was willing to accept the return and issue a refund and Walmart made it impossible and would not allow it. Approximately one month ago I was told by phone that a refund was being issued by Sharmaine and I never received it. At the end of the day, after trying to resolve this for 3 months I was told by representative Patrick and supervisor Max that it is now outside of their return policy time period and they couldn't do anything for me. After Walmart made it impossible to facilitate the return it is now outside of the return time frame.

The worst online shopping experience I have every experienced. Walmart is trying to be amazon and broker sales from third party vendors. Walmart does not stand by their service. Their dealings are highly unethical. Their website and systems do not work properly. Customer service is unreliable and a waste of time as they will not resolve anything with customer service as their priority in mind. It is evident that Walmart.com priority is sales and not servicing and treating customer fairly and ethically. I would highly recommend NOT shopping at walmart.com or at walmart as no matter how large the savings might be you will loose and it isn't worth it.

Beware
November 5, 2023

Beware! If I could put zero stars I would! Walmart somehow put a funds hold on my bank account without an order being placed! I filled my cart and went to check out and it said that I didn't have enough funds in my bank acct…so I go look at transactions and it's Walmart holding funds and my order hadn't even been placed! When I reached out to get help…They apologized and told me the hold would be removed in 5-7 business days…I was furious…I need my money now …they had no right to hold anything I hadn't even placed an order! I told them I needed the money now and if they couldn't remove the hold they needed to comp me the money for my order. They then went on to try to blame my financial institution…saying it might have been a glitch ….I said NO! Banks don't just randomly put holds on ppls accts and label them Walmart.com.A different agent asked me if there had been anything in my cart for longer than today….I said yes…I put some things in cart a few days ago and some today but that has nothing to do with anything….She then said that sometimes if u have items in your cart for a few days Walmart automatically does a funds hold….OMG What? No! That is not ok! This is fraud and now I don't feel safe shopping online w them! I left a review on their website but went to look for it and it's not there…which is why I came here! I didn't realize there were so many issues because I just see the reviews on their website…but today I see there are mostly bad reviews! I know what happened today is very stressful and a huge inconvenience…Looking at some of the other complaints I see this is a regular thing with them…If this has happened to anyone else please
Reach out.

4/27/25 UPDATE: Walmart has decided I don't deserve to have my items shipped to my house and just wants me to have my stuff delivered by someone to my house? They have blocked me from using chat in my account and in the app? Ok then fair warning that I am not subscribing to walmart+ next year. It's called cause and effect. You screw over your customers that keep you in business, you get to deal with the consequences of your actions. They have already closed down a bunch of store across the nation. We have to band together spend/use less, make what you have stretch and for an indeterminate amount of time and go without extras to send a clear message that we are not going to be funding the inflation trade war. It's the only way to get them to stop being parasites living off the backs on the poor, elderly and disabled. DO YOUR PART. 4/8/25-UPDATE: So I guess walmart thinks they are slick with the delivery/shipping switcheroo where you order an item to be shipped and if you are not watching closely you won't notice you item is switched to a drop off delivery if the item is supposedly at my local store. I guess this has been happening for years to customers and just hit my store. The problem with this is for years 99.9999% of items are not at my local store and inevitably my order is cancelled because the items I order are in fact not in stock. So walmart wants to save on shipping to your house by falsely making people believe that if they just claim they stock the item/s you want at your local store then they will just switch your shipping order to delivery. Not sure why walmart wants to kill their own business. They are are already closing stores that are not making enough profit and now they make it worse with this b. S? I will be shopping at walmart less and amazon more. Eventually people won't find walmart+ or delivery to be worth it anymore. This was a thing with covid but there is no real use for it now that covid lockdown isn't a thing anymore. Walmart being the retail giant days are over. Ever since sam walton died it's just been going more and more down downhill with their self sabotage. Kinda sad to watch but yet not. If you call 1-800-nine-six-six-six-five-four-six "account review" department will pick up the call and claim they can't help you and tell you to call 1-800-nine-two-five-six-two-seven-eight and lie and say it's walmart's corporate phone number when it's the their other customer service phone number. If you call 1-800-nine-two-five-six-two-seven-eight "lost packages" department will pick up the call and also make excuses as to why they "can't" help you. Both have a 25-25 minute hold time since they have no live chat or email anymore. No more chat, no more email and now bizzare stuff happening with their customer service phone numbers. Looks like to flood the corporate line if they don't want to help customers anymore. Apparently they just want to take people's money but not help them when issues they caused arise. People get turned off by lack of proper/adequate customer service and end up shopping where they are treated well.

Wal-Mart is going down the tubes. They really don't care about their customers, especially their handicapped ones. Since the first of the year, I've been to their store in Ammon, ID over a dozen times and now it's been six times I couldn't find a handicapped parking place, nor did they have a motorized shopping cart available. I had to park further away than normal every time, and when I got into the lobby of the store no electric cart. This last time I asked the store customer greeter Jim, a tall, thin and old guy, five times to get the manager for me. He simply stared ahead at the doors and totally ignored me. The sixth time, I asked him in a threatening tone to call the manager, he finally did. When the manager Justin finally arrived, I explained things to him and that it's the sixth time they've had no electric cart available. Of course he said he was sorry and got on his radio and checked around if there were any in the lot, etc. He said they have eight, and two were in for repairs', so 25% of his fleet was down and out for a week I found. I asked him to check on those and he disappeared to never return. I just left wasting a half hour.
With all the wounded warriors returning and being released from hospitals, they should realize there are going to be more people than ever requiring those facilities. The attitude of the store greeters, if you want to call him that, the manager and Wal-Mart employees overall is poor and isn't improving, and that all reflects back on management. Saying sorry just doesn't cut it anymore. They should just act and accomplish something. I just don't shop there anymore, and no handicapped person should until they correct things.

I had a slip and fall in the Robertsdale Alabama Walmart, As I was entering into the door, two women were coming out of the same door in my pathway, so I step to the right to move out of the way. I slip in some water (trying to save my back), I fell forward. Immediately my hand began to swell. So I go to the cashier to let her know I injured my hand, and If I could speak with a manager to report the incident. The manager comes up, I explain what happened, then she calls for a guy to come up and take an incident report. So the guy ask if I really want to make an incident report, looking at my swollen hand, I said yes, look at my hand. I told each one of these people, that they may want to clean up the water so no one else would injury themselves. No one picked the water up, NOT ONE OF THESE PEOPLE I SPOKE WITH SAID I'M SORRY YOU HURT YOURSELVE. THE GUY WHO TOOK THE INCIDENT REPORT SAID THEY WOULD FOLLOW-UP AND CHECK ON ME WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS. NOT ONE PERSON CALLED, NOR WERE THEY EVEN CONCERNED. I'M SURE A LOT OF PEOPLE MAY HAVE SAID THEY FELL IN THE STORE AND WERE NOT HURT, BUT CLEARLY IT WOULD BE SEEN FROM THE VIDEO, AND LOOKING AT MY HAND, THAT I WAS INJURED. I MAY HAVE TO HAVE SURGERY ON MY HAND NOW! WALMART CAN GO TO HELL, THEY OVER-WORK THEIR EMPLOYEES, AND DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I'LL BE SHOPPING AT TARGET FOR NOW ON!
