This place is a joke time and time again they have sent my package to the wrong address I've been chasing my package for two weeks now and they still can't get it straight what makes me mad is that they don't even contact you or call you back
I was given a 20% discount to return as a customer so placed an order for $230 worth of goods. I received no notification of any delay and placed another order of 3 items that came within the 4-5 day window. I called 2 days ago and the customer service rep stated it would be shipped later that day. I checked today and still no notification and nothing has shipped after 11 days!
I called and cancelled my order and will be buying items needed from the store and not ordering from them anymore.
I have made a mistake when I left Iherb to deal with this site. I placed an order with them 5 weeks ago, but haven't received yet! When I contacted them asking only to contact the courier they said contact us after 60 days! 60 days! Which means that if I will receive my staff, most of the items will be expired!
I was looking for an alternative to Amazon a few years ago and discovered Vitacost. I buy everything from bulk herbs and vitamin supplements to toothpaste and food! I have not been disappointed yet!
I even had a mishap where the laundry soap wasn't fully closed. It was in a bag, so I wasn't too upset. I let them know just to let them know, I wasn't expecting anything, and happily they refunded an item for me to make up for it.
I have tried to unsubscribe at least 25 times, I have called customer service at least four times, every time I was promised they would remove me from further emails. Their unsubscribe is a joke... don't ever get on VITACOST... so-called... mailing list... it will be forever... I'll never buy from them again... I'm going to copy and paste this on to my social media page!
Worst customer service ever. They do not stand by the products they sale. I had an unopened item. Still in the shipping box and they would not issue a refund or exchange. This order was for almost $200.00. It was a product I found out right after reordering that it was causing a horrible allergic reaction. They would not accept the return at all.
Vitacost customer service was horrible. I shopped with this company because of guaranteed 2-day shipping offered by FedEx Ground through shoprunner. My order was shipped priority mail (4 day service) to my physical address where it will not be able to be delivered due to no street delivery by the postal service in my town. Customer service did not offer to correct the mistake. They just told me that once the package was returned then the matter would be taken care of. FAIL FAIL FAIL
Long time customer here. It's sad to see how Vitacost has gone down. Maybe the products are still good. I don't know. I don't trust them after several packages were lost and they only refunded part of one. Why? According to their customer services, only one package came back to them. The other are lost so they don't reimburse them. And they don't reimburse shipping and VAT for the one coming back.
So why do they male us pay the VAT before if they know they have so many delivery problems? Why they don't take an insurance with their shipping companies?
At the end they choose to make the customers pay for their mistakes and poor services.
Also the customer service is just horrible. Totally inefficient and impolite sometimes
The shipping company, Veho, Vitacost uses is incompetent. Cannot make deliveries during regular business hours. Veho customer service contact is by text message only. Veho still has my items after the first delivery attempt 5 business days ago.
I cannot begin to describe my hatred for vita cost. I was a loyal customer for many years, but now whenever I open their site, i immediately regret it. They have ZERO customer service, they require a phone number in order to make a purchase, and they make absolutely everything more difficult than it needs to be. Do yourself a favor and shop literally anywhere else.
I got an email from Vitacost saying the box had been delivered. Turns out that delivery was a shipment FedEx sent back to them because of a poor quality box. I finally did a chat and the agent told me the shipment wouldn't have been sent if I had not made this inquiry. They charged me and had no intention of giving me my products. Vitacost sure has gone downhill.
I made the mistake of purchasing something (and later found it cheaper someplace else anyway) and have been punished with relentless, daily spam emails. I've unsubscribed, contacted customer service (who lied to me and said they would stop emailing me.) It's all over the internet, complaints like mine. Buy ANYWHERE else unless you're so lonely that you want daily pushy sales emails.
Ever since this company was taken over by Kroger everything has been downhill. Product, customer service, shipping, and even the sales such as BOGO are deceiving. They are using new marketing techniques to trick you into thinking your getting this great deal. This is not the same BOGO sale they ran in the past. So Buyer Beware! There are many other companies that will value you and I advise to go elsewhere. At least try, and see if you don't want to take my word for it. For those of you giving 5 stars... give it time, you too will be a 1 star client soon.
Now not so much. Products not listed as being out of stock and are, then items are shipped slow boat (even though you had "free two day shipping" you receive item 6 days later. You spend the required amount for two day shipping and receive an email on due date saying its late but tracking number doesnt work so no idea when it will arrive. This is the new norm. Again corporate profitability trumps all else including customer satisfaction. This is also dishonest practice to get customers to spend more to get two day shipping and then dont deliver. Vitacost email doesnt work, either does chat. Guess that way they dont have to hear the complaints.
I've ordered from Vitacost at least 20 times and I've never once had any kind of an issue with an order or delivery. Amazing BOGO deals so keep an eye out for those. I use coconut oil by the buckets so it's nice to get a discount on it. Plus, their coconut oil is fantastic!
I had ordered several bottles of Mega EFZ D3 fish oil, seduced by the attractive price. The fish oil arrived, I used it for a few days and it made me sick every time. It must have contained semi-rotten fish; it smelled terrible even though the expiration date was ok. In 20 years of daily use of fish oil capsules no other brands ever made me sick. I tried to return the merchandise, asked Vitacost about their return procedure, never got an answer. Since the company does not stand behind their merchandise and since we are not talking about some cute accessory but about supplements you ingest, get your order filled by a reputable company!
I ordered just some real expensive vitamins at the beginning of July. Today again contacted vitacost for the 2nd time. Shipment still in process and they told me international shipping terms will take 70 days according to their policy? This is totally crazy. I ordered more times before but always fast delivery before the covid-19 pandemic! Never ever again for me! Ordered more vitamins a Iherb and other stores later this month and got them all within a week after ordering.
I've been ordering from Vitacost for years. I've had one minor incident in all those years, a fish oil bottle that smelled rancid. I was expecting to have to ship the bottle back, but they not only offered apologies, but sent me a new one that arrived overnight. I was floored.
Fish oils are susceptible to rancidity if there's even the slightest breach in the seal. I live in AZ, and this was during the summer (nuff said), so it's not at all surprising.
I've never had any other issues with Vitacost, if you could even call that an issue; they've always exceeded my expectations in quality, cost, packing and delivery times.
Overall Vitacost is a great site to order all kinds of food and personal care items from. I love the huge selection of products that they have. I have several ongoing auto shipments with them and haven't had a bad experience with their customer service.
The only drawback I've experienced is glass items (holding beverages) breaking during transit. On more than one occasion I've received my order and, while the box was fully intact (indicating that the shipping courier wasn't at fault), the glass bottles inside were shattered. It was clearly the result of being poorly packed. Now I make it a point not to include more than one glass item in any given order because they seem to break when they hit against each other during transit.
It's important to note that Vitacost has always replaced any broken or defective items. In the end I always end up satisfied.
