To keep it short, placed an order, 1 month later nothing received. Contacted customer service and got copy/paste reply to wait for another 15 days, ie 45 days.
Replied and suggested they either send again, follow up with postal service, refund or i would file for chargeback, Response i received was same copy/paste as original response. Normal delivery time is 2 weeks
I discovered vitacost.com about six months ago and just received my third order from them. Each time I shop there, I do price comparisons across the web to see if I can get it anywhere else cheaper. Most of the time, for the things I buy (mostly essential oils), Vitacost wins in the price department. Then, there's the shipping. With this order, I wanted an accurate timeline since I always feel like it arrives quickly, but had never paid attention to how quickly. With this order, I checked out only minutes after checking out an Amazon Prime purchase (with free, two-day shipping). My Amazon order arrived yesterday. My Vitacost order (which qualified for free shipping thanks to their low threshold) arrived today. Free, three-day shipping without paying for such perks is an excellent example of great customer service! I have been nothing short of happy with Vitacost and will continue shopping there regularly in the future.
I purchased a 4oz bottle of Vitacost Stevia extract drops last year from their website. I opened the bottle several months ago and the product looked fine. Now the liquid is cloudy and when I contacted Vitacost about the issue I was told there is a 60 day window to request refund or replacement after purchase. The product has an expiration date of 04/26. I didn't open the bottle until well past the 60 days and even though the product is defective, received no resolution.
The product is inexpensive and clearly something has gone wrong. Any level of positive customer service support should have been able to rectify the situation in some way to my satisfaction. This company has been my "go to" supplement supplier for many years. I will never purchase from them again.
They charged me 40$ more than they had to, without mentioning the shipping cost up until they actually charged me! I have even sent them screenshots of this - and they don't reply. Poor customer service and site, will never buy again.
I've shopped Vitacost for years. I placed a $120 order on 2/14/22, and never received my products. I have sent emails, messaged on FB and tried to call, which is a joke! I have gotten zero response from them. Very frustrating!
I've had 2 instances where I had to contact Customer Service about either an order that was sent that should have been canceled or a product I received that didn't agree with me. Both times there were no questions asked and they issued me a refund within 2 days of my email or phone call. I use this company all the time due to very good prices and their hassle free customer service.
I recently tried buying supplements from this website but could NEVER get the order to go through. I tried several times and I don't like having to enter my credit card info over and over on a website. I also tried using Paypal to pay and that didn't work either. I won't ever use Vitacost.com or recommend them to anyone.
They have everything! And usually at a much cheaper price than stores and online stores. I find it to be a little more educational than other vitamin selling sites as well. I get most of what I need on Vitacost and shipping is quick.
Last week I made a purchase and saw that they used OnTrac for shipping. Unfortunately I've had horrendous experience with OnTrac (9 out of 10 packages never make it to me with them). Sure enough, OnTrac once again marked my package as delivered when it was not. I immediately contacted vitacost and they shipped my package again, with FedEx this time. They followed up with me throughout the whole process and made sure I got the package and was happy with everything. They have great customer service and an unbeatable price for what I was looking for.
I am able to find products that are either more expensive at other places or hard to find elsewhere. The prices are already low but they also have some great sales. Shipping is fast. I have had a few problems with how products are wrapped for shipping in the past but none in the last 1 1/2 years or so. Love the free shipping. I wait until I have a large enough order to ship free.
Would not let me cancel an order after 2 hours of placing it. Telephone rep said it was already packed for shipment yet still said not shipped.
1 item ordered was twice the cost of both Walmart and Amazon. Yet other item from same brand was similar in price. So including shipping I overpaid by $10 for 2 items costing $12. Ripoff.
I've been a long-time customer, at least ten years. I've ordered regularly through them. I've always read reviews, good and bad, about products. Something happened recently. They've scrubbed their reviews, and have deleted a ton of negative reviews on products. I've tried posting a negative review of their pumpkin seeds sourced from China (Go Raw products), and they refuse to post it.
I just don't understand why Vitacost doesn't address their packaging problems. Recently I was mailed 11 glass jars and there was no padding on the bottom of the box so many of them were broken. We receive crushed boxes of crackers pulverized even though the boxes look fine. I have been on eBay for 20/20 years and have had one glass item broken and all that time. I guess I'm just going to have to stop ordering from Vitacost. I don't have problems with Amazon, Lucky Vitamin, and Walmart. I am sure I am not the only one who receives items broken or crushed? Now of corse the items on reorder are not available or I've filed too many complaints so they just refund my account. It's a shame because I have been buying from them for years (even before they were purchased by Kroger).
I'm about over Vitacost. Without fail, I will place a $100+ order at full price and just after it ships they send me a $15 off $100 email or a bogo email, (either only valid for 2 days), knowing I just ordered and won't need to re-order. This happens literally every month right after my order ships... I just see it as a shady practice, tempted to give someone else my business even if it cost a few bucks more.
If you want to go through hell or a lot of stress, then use this company.
This is the first time I didn't get my order in my 10 years shopping experience.
The most ridiculous and hopeless shopping experiece ever and customer service is useless.
Vitacost = bunch of scammers. They are driving you crazy.
Very happy with the quick shipping and easy-to-navigate website. I ordered disinfecting wipes that were impossible to find elsewhere online, but Vitacost had a few in stock and they were shipped the same day I ordered them!
Order never arrived, found out there was a payment issue and i was never contacted. Now ill go without my supplements for pain and depression for weeks while I find a new supplier. Just not reliable enough for my heath concerns.
I had ordered successfully from Vitacost in the past so didn't hesitate to order again when they had an item I wanted but couldn't find anywhere else. The order arrived promptly and all contents were intact (including a glass jar of vitamins). Then I discovered my charge card had been billed twice. I immediately filed a dispute with my credit card company so I wouldn't be charged interest on the double amount and then opened a chat with Vitacost. I was told the amounts were pre-authorization billing and actual billing. This is common practice with online retailers but usually the pre-authorization charge is reversed when the actual charge goes through at shipment time. I was told by the Vitacost rep that the pre-authorization charge should roll off in 7-10 days. It is now day 9 and still on my account. I don't find this to be a business practice with which I am comfortable. Be aware if you order from them that this is how order charges are done.
They sent broth boxes that looked like they ok at first. I left them in the plastic bags just in case they leaked. A few weeks later I went to use the broth and the boxes looked like they exploded and leaked all over my pantry. They credited me the 2 boxes but I asked them to replace the drawers in my pantry that had warped. I took pictures and also gave them a picture of the replacement costs of the drawers (under 125 each). They kept telling me they were evaluating it. Then they ignored me for over a year. I will buy somewhere else.
Buyer Beware!
Don't be duped into ordering the larger size bottles from the Vitacost BOGO 1/2 off offers.
They will "shout it from the rooftops" but these enticing deals are an underhanded way of unloading products that are close to their expiration date.
I have come across several in their current BOGO offers.
A perfect example is the B-12 bottle of 300 capsules (to be taken one a day). It has an expiration date of 10-1-'15. By the time you use up the first bottle, the second bottle will already have expired. This is just one example. There are others.
Answer: Yes they sell brand names and reputable products. They may not sell everything though depending on what you're looking for. I couldn't find the product I wanted anywhere other than through Vitacost so I was quite impressed.
Answer: Can't see it online, only on actual product if ordered
Answer: They sell the reputable Thorne brand recommended by wiser MD's and not available in vitamin shops, retail pharmacies or food stores
Answer: There is a money-back guarantee on all of the products they sell. Often, you will be given a refund without even having to return a product. They really are the best in the business when it comes to customer satisfaction.
