Have not been able to read with these glasses already scratched up no way to keep them clean of course the COVID hit a few days after I got them so was not able to go back Worse experience I have ever had
I booked two appointments online on 7/20/2020 one at 4:30 and the other at 4:45 and The associate called me stated we can not have the appointments like that so I said keep the 4:30 and can we book another appointment before the 7/31/2020 then he asked me what insurance I have and I told him and he said that they do not take that insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket.
So I went in to get my glasses and contacts, I did the exam and they were trying to pressure me into everything they offered but I didn't want that. So after the exams were completed I went to pick out my glasses and the lady that helped me when I first got there kept coming over to me saying have you got them yet? I replied to her that I'm still looking then she started grabbing glasses from the most expensive places and kept pushing me to get them. I finally found what I wanted and after $300.00+ bill with my insurance I left. I tried calling them to get the status on my glasses and contacts but their automated system is so messed up I couldn't find anything out. So I drove there to ask them and tried to explain about their phones and how much it was a inconvenience for me to do this, and the lady that helped me all she could say was that they are on hold. I tried to get an answer and all she said was I'm not going to argue about this and walked away. Never doing business again with that kind of attitude. I would rate their business as a -1 star if I can
My husband was told by eye dr during exam that he was hemorrhaging in one eye and referred us to our ophthalmologist for follow up, suggesting urgency. The ophthalmologist said he needed to review notes from eye exam but it was IMPOSSIBLE to dial the store directly, you get a ridiculous phone system which includes no live person option. Multiple phone calls later we reached a customer service rep who also COULD NOT REACH anyone in the store directly. Said he would email the store but by the end of the day our dr still had received nothing. Our dr had also faxed the store asking for info; no response at all until the following day. I actually drove in 20 miles the next day to make sure they had responded. (because I still couldn't reach them on the phone) It took over 36 hrs for a response to a fairly urgent matter. Absolutely the most aggravating and useless customer service ever encountered.
The folks who work in the store are great and none of this is their fault but try to get any follow up once you walk out. Apparently the company doesn't care, their reviews are consistently poor.
The nose piece on my glasses broke off. I went in and no questions asked, she replaced both of my nose pieces and I was in and out in under 10 minutes.
Hi Just want to review my last Eye exam It was a zoom exam conducted by a technician not Dr. Checking my vision. You look at letters and try to read lines The man kept giving the same size letters. He kept telling me to blink. Never had a test like that. Usually you move up to bigger letters to get range. Also we went to the Whats better or clearer part of the test Picking 1 or 2. He was going so fast. I was laughing. And saying 1 or 2 to get finished with test. Also after going thru the various eye exams I developed an eye infection. Not happy. The coo de gra was I asked what $$$ amount my insurance would cover. Technician said pick out frames. I did I came back frames close the the amount Insurance will cover. The tech picked out frames that was far lower in cost and was telling me they are much better. I am sure when I pick up my glasses the Prescription will be wrong. Also The 2nd zoom with now a Dr He was telling me I need glasses for driving I said I need reading glasses only. I told I just renewed license 2 years ago. He said I had a very generous examiner. WTF He was reading results from the First zoom tech who gave me vision test. Soon will see if my new glasses are good. Next year no more zoom visits.
Ordered new glasses AUGUST 2021. Received letter for free glasses from benefits not used 2020. I called visionworks it was verified. Went in and was told no I could not get a free pair. They will have to call insurance company. We will call you. Never received call. I called them. I was told that coupon was expired 10/1. The other coupon in the letter expired 10/31/21. I had not had that letter long. I called my insurance company. They told me that I could redeem that coupon for 2020 benefits. The insurance co called visionworks. I went back today. Lady tried to tell me that tell cancelled that coupon but was told to honor. I call bull $#*!. I talk to the insurance company and that was not mentioned. They lied I will not go back to that location. They cannot even return ur call. I think they noted my act for her to recall conversations in regards to that. It's ok want get my business in kernersville nc again see ya. The lady telling me what the coupon said. I said I know. That progressive lenses come with co pay. I said no read the coupon. They are doing dongs. I also dropped about $300 in August.
Went to Waterworks location in Pgh. Got my glasses and kept complaining that I couldn't see out of them. So it was suggested I go w a lighter frame. So I goto the one in Monroeville bcse the original. Didn't have what I wanted. They also retested me. Then I selected the ones I wanted and goto get them and they put the script in the original frame and then couldn't find the one I selected. Then it was some weird thing going on where it showed I returned the cheaper frame, I e. The new frame I had just selected and purchased the original frame I returned. And she had created a 2bd profile for me. But anyways bcse she prcsd it wrong the new ones were sold. I ended up selecting another frame and just paid cash. Then had to go bk to the 1st one to be refunded. I thing goto Walmart to have them do the lenses. Still could not see out the bifocals. Mind you I had also purchased just reg glasses for distance at the same time at VW and they were ok. FF this year bcse of insurance chgs I was able to get tested again and get new glasses. So I goto Pearl. She informs me that my original script for my left eye the info was missing. And that is why I couldn't see. But VW after 2 exams didn't catch this and Walmart didn't either. I feel even though it's been a year that I should be compensated for my co-pay for the new ones.
Visionworks in Lancaster, PA, is the most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with. I had an eye appointment scheduled three weeks ago for today. I get there 15 minutes early. I get checked in, I am brought back for the 1st two tests, and then am told to go pick out my glasses and leave them in a tray. I get done, and go sit down to wait for the doctor, who then comes out and calls in the woman who had just checked in. I tell him that I am next, and he says, "oh go talk to (whatever her name was). She then tells me that they tried to call me several times to tell me that my appt. Was rescheduled. I never got a call or even a message, yet she insists they called several times. Even if they did and I never heard it, they can't leave a message? I also got an email reminder about TODAY'S appointment. So apparently they also knew my e-mail and could not have let me know that way? Instead I get a reminder yesterday about today's appointment?

They seriously could not have told me as soon as I walked in that it had been rescheduled?
I will never go to this place ever again, and I will be sure that everyone that I know hears what happened to me today. Nothing like wasting all that time and gas... thanks for nothing visionworks!

DO NOT GO TO VISIONWORKS!
I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO VISIONWORKS!
Very unhappy with the customer service with Visionworks.
P.S. It should be a way to give zero stars
Went to order a pair of glasses and lenses for a pair of frames I bought there a couple years ago. Once again I was told my vision insurance wouldn't be the best way for me to go. I was told I could NOT purchase just lenses as part of their BOGO promotion. For a pair of glasses with relatively inexpensive frames and a pair of lenses I was quoted $840.00. This was after someone behind a closed door told the clerk I could use the BOGO. This mysterious voice didn't ever show its face. Went to the optician behind them and got lenses for my frames and a full pair of glasses for under $600.00 using my insurance and a promotion for a second pair. A call to the customer service number at VisionWorks left them firm on the $840.00 price tag. They don't care. I had been a repeat customer...but no longer. Shop around. They will milk you for everything they can. Extremely poor experience both in store and on the phone with their customer service department. It wasn't like that the last couple years when I have shopped there.
The Dr.Merlino very knowledgeable and very handsome and super professional and very friendly
Carrie sales agent super sweet very patient and great customer service and greatttt deals!
Anita at the centereach office was very rude and lacks customer service skills. She may benefit from additional patient experience training.
My insurance company gave me the green light as far as my coverage with Visionworks. So I go, have exam stating I wanted both a contact & eyeglass prescription. After sitting in a frenzied waiting room, I saw Dr Jin Qian. Could she have gone any faster than the dizzying pace she took with me? I don't think so - very poor exam with absolutely no feedback. Contacts not available, glasses prescription was for readers only, not bifocals as recommended by previous ophthalmologist. She couldn't even tell me if contact prescription would be right for she "bumped up" script and said to wait 2 weeks for samples to come in. The worst part of all was when I was told I did not have coverage but was considered " out of network ". Seems every Visionworks is independently owned and I did have coverage in next town over (20 miles). Folks, please don't think you are saving any money by using their coupon flyers or the fact this business is everywhere. They are pure and simply scammers and the disarray & nastiness of this Murfreesboro, TN location should have been the tip off. Why wasn't I told my benefits were only good at another Visionworks? Why was I given the bum rush when it came to an eye exam? Guess when I left I saw the 2 doctors playing with their cell phones. In all fairness there was one young male employee who attentive but that was because he was the one who took my payment. This location is BAD NEWS. So many more honorable eye doctors in Murfreesboro, TN. Please don't let this place get you too. I usually don't comment on bad experiences, but this location needs serious attention by its owner.
We've been going to the Visionworks in Arlington Hts IL, for many years and receiving excellent care by the staff, especially Alyssa and Dr. Bunchuk.
Very Thankful!
Pat and Ed Young
I called and made an appointment for an eye exam a week prior to my 4p.m. Appointment today. When I got there, I signed in as asked and waited, I was ten minutes early. People kept getting called for their appointments and I was still waiting to be called in for my scheduled eye exam. At 4:10 p.m. I was wondering why they hadn't called me so I went up to the desk and the lady said sorry she forgot about me. She gave me these papers to fill out. About five more minutes later she told me oh no we don't take this insurance(when I made the appointment I made sure that they took my insurance). Anyway she said I could just pay for it and I agreed. I didn't have enough cash in my wallet so I said I would pay with the debit card. But what a nighmarr that was-for like a half hour I kept sliding in this way that way putting it in and waiting etc etc and three of the ladies behind the desk were trying to get this thing done. A line was buillding up behind me and people giving me dirty looks. Finally one of them said it's not me it's their system went down. So she said she will try it in the "back" and disappeared. Another 5 to 10 minutes went by and I was still waiting. Needless to say it was a huge cluster... and I got nothing accomplished. The lady never came back out from the back trying to accomplish the task. I told the remaining lady I am going to pass on this now and find another place that will take my insurance-or actually accepts my payment for a damn eye exam.
They were excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The doctor was amazing very thorough. The best Optometrist i have been to in a long time!
I went to the VisionWorks in Frankfort, KY for a standard eye test and new glasses. First, they try to sell you items deceitfully. I was ordered bifocals and they talked me into "digital lenses" which I was told meant the bifocal would go from one side to the other so you aren't missing any text. This was incorrect and when I picked up my glasses and noticed this was not true, the person who sold them to me gave me shrugged shoulders because he didn't have bifocals - he just knew people liked them. Also, I was sold "smudge-proof" and when I went back in, the manager said it wasn't smudge-proof, just dirt resistant. I have to return my glasses 4 times to get the bifocals in the right place so I could see without getting nauseous. These are the worst glasses I have ever had. I couldn't return them because my insurance was already processed and going to a new place would cost more because of the benefits taken at VisionWorks. My son got regular glasses (no bi) and his glasses are fine. I wholeheartedly do not recommend VisionWorks if you have bifocals or anything difficult about your prescription. After my third trip in, they had my vision checked to make sure the prescription was right and the Doctor treated me poorly as if I was questioning his ability.
This is the worst company ive ever had to deal with.from management to employees none of them care.
Co pays not as advertised, OD's charge more and retailers few and far between!. Participate at own risk.
Answer: Tried to call General Manager and other 800 number to voice complaint but was put on long looped music/business nonsense for too long.
Answer: I haven't heard of any success stories around the Syracuse area... they closed the lens making facilities locally... and they should close the rest of their operation as well
Answer: I believe Wal-Mart would be a better choice even if price is more which I don't think it is
