I purchased a pair of Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones on Vinted after specifically asking the seller to confirm they were 100% genuine. The seller assured me they were bought from Currys. What I received was clearly counterfeit: Packaging was cheap and nothing like genuine Beats products. The headphones were made from flimsy plastic and looked/feel fake. I checked the serial number on Beats' official website—it was not recognised, confirming the item wasn't genuine. The seller even sent a fake "receipt" with no VAT number, no postcode, and a disconnected phone number. I reported all of this to Vinted, referencing their own policy, which states that if an item is counterfeit, you will be refunded without needing to return it. Instead of investigating as promised, they pushed me to return the item at my own expense—despite all the evidence and the seller failing to provide any proof of authenticity. To make matters worse, the seller sent me a series of abusive and offensive messages, calling me a "posh prick," "greedy bastard," and more. I reported this to Vinted, and they did absolutely nothing. The seller remains active on the platform. I also paid a Buyer Protection fee for this transaction—yet that so-called protection was totally meaningless. Vinted refused to enforce their own policy, refused to take action on the abuse, and effectively protected the scammer, not the buyer. Their customer support responses were robotic, dismissive, and refused to escalate the matter to a manager or legal team. I've now deleted the app, reported Vinted to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice, and raised the matter with my payment provider. Vinted is not a safe platform for buyers. They do not enforce their policies, and they allow counterfeit goods and abusive sellers to remain. If you value your time, money, and sanity—avoid this app.

Vinted charge the buyer a 'protection fee' on every purchase. The seller doesn't have to pay any fees. But when I, a buyer on vinted, need Vinted to investigate a seller who fraudulently sold me something significantly different to what they had advertised in their listing, they were not interested and only protected the seller instead. I was charged a 'buyer protection fee' for Vinted to just protect the seller instead. I would have thought that Vinted wouldn't want fraudulent sellers using their platform to scam and deceive their buyers, who have to pay fees on every purchase, but they don't care about the buyer and protect the fraudulent seller instead. Vinted's response to me complaining about the faruaulent seller, was to return the item to the seller at my own cost, not the seller. I've been scammed by Vinted fraudulent seller and they expect me to cover the cost of returning their item to receive a partial refund, as I would NOT be reimbursed for the cost of returning. So again, the seller is protected when scamming buyers and protected from having to cover the cost of the return. So I will be losing out whether I return the item of not. Vinted informed me that I will only recive my partial refund once I've returned the item and seller has chosen to 'accept order', if the seller chooses to not 'accpet order' my refund will instead be relased to the seller. So of course the dishonest, fraudulent seller isn't going to 'accept order' so they can keep my payment, and Vinted allows this. Vinted is aware of all of this as I have raised my conerns, but to no avail, as Vinted are now ignoring all my contact. Vinted is clearly fine with frauduelnt sellers using their platform to scam their buyers, why else would they protect the sellers while charging the buyer a 'protection fee' that only protects, their precious, fraudulent sellers

My wife and I had both used Vinted to purchase several low cost items over the last two years and had always found the platform easy to use and felt we were getting some good value out of the platform.
The last month my wife purchased a Blakely hoodie and leggings which were sold as 'new with tags' and 'unworn', the items arrived and this was clearly not the case. The items didnt have tags and had clearly been worn as there was a deodorant mark on the hoodie. My wife contacted the seller who didnt deny that they didnt have tags but said "it's in it's original plastic bag" (not the same) and that the deodorant mark was "just dust from them being in my wardrobe" and said if you dont want them send them back.
This is where Vinted's wheels come off, firstly the buyer has to pay to return the item even in these scenarios but worse than that was that I then read her previous reviews and the seller has clearly done this before as many reviews said the same.
My wife posted the items back the next day in the exact packaging that they had been sent out in.
Within another day Vinted contacted my wife to say she had inappropriately packed the item, one of the 2 items was now missing and therefore the seller would retain all of the funds (which was £90).
We then contacted vented support again, (which we had done at the start of the process but they said as she had offered a refund thats what we should do, immediately refusing to acknowledge the mis-selling of the goods in the first place by the 'new with tags' line being a complete lie) and explained the fact that this clearly isn't the first time that the seller has done this and that we are surely entitled to our money back as she mis-sold the item. They completely refused to acknowledge the mis selling of the items or her previous form and initially we were clearly dealing with only bots. Eventually after trading standards and the sale of goods act was mentioned a human responded though they were equally useless and ultimately after a few messages of the same type (always refusing to acknowledge that the items were not as sold, they simply said that the funds had now been returned to the seller and whilst they now saw our point, they could no longer do anything as the issue was closed. Ultimately I feel this seller is very possibly deliberately playing the Vinted system as it is all skewed towards the seller (unlike Ebay which has far better protection for both parties) and they are allowing it. They are clearly operating outside of the sale of goods act, can you imagine a shop saying "well the money has changed hands now so that's the end of it" it literally makes no sense at all. Ultimately Vinted are not at all interested in running a fair trading platform, they are quite happy for it to operate as the Wild West as long as they are getting their fees. I would avoid at all costs and go back to Ebay, yes the fees may be higher but now I can see why.

Don't waste your time
March 13, 2025

A joke...been using this app for over a year now and never had a problem until now...they sent me 2 labels that won't scan or process on the parcel machines. No customer service no to call and an automated message service that doesn't reply and solve your issue. Pathetic I will not be using ever again...the app will deleted

Stay away
February 24, 2025

I used Vinted for a long time now. At first it was a brilliant app. Now it's just become a money making machine and I feel the company is only trying to get its fix from both buyers and sellers. I bought pairs of jeans on the platform that I returned and never got my money back. I tried contacting customer support for months and they didn't respond to me until I sent help queries repeatedly. In the end, they didn't reimburse me claiming the refund had been made even though I showed them my bank statements proving the contrary! Worse part is we pay a "buyer protection fee" which in the end is just a way to charge you more for a service you'll never get. I'd stay away if I were you.

This company needs shutting down. They steal money from customers who have done nothing wrong.

I made an order, which was not delivered to my house, as it did not arrive. My ring also didn't go off.

They have refused to offer evidence of the address it was delivered to, and when ive tried to get support from their team ive gotten nowhere. I was sent a form, in the wrong format, it was PDF which I couldn't do on my phone and was in hospital. I asked for the form in a different format but they didn't respond.they then closed the sale and released the money saying I didn't get the form back in time despite me pointing out I asked for help.

They are refusing me a refund and refusing to help me any further. This company needs shutting down and I have been in touch with Watchdog and ombudsman about them.

Please people, don't risk it. Use Ebay or the multiple other platforms available. This company doesn't care about customers one bit and they're stealing people's money. They need to be stopped.

Allow scamming
December 24, 2024

I had a dispute with a buyer who scammed me and Vinted will do nothing to take the buyer to task. Clearly this attitude demonstrates Vinted are happy to have SCAMMERS operate on their platform. All there rubbish about keeping it's community safe is a load of rubbish. From my experience of their customer services they are morally bankrupt, will stonewall any criticism of their safety procedures and will not even discuss that scamming is even possibly taking place on their platform. I've tried to resolve my complaint from the CEO, a mediation company working in partnership with them and customer service. All I've experienced is a culture of corporate dishonesty and stonewalling. I've asked the CEO to challenge me but have the usual stonewalling.

Sold a jacket for £200 and the buyer did not get his parcel on the doorstep, royal mail took it back to the postoffice and the buyer collected from there. Royal mail would not set the parcel as delivered, the buyer claims he has clicked the item was delivered but Vinted will not pass the sales money over. They keep coming up with excuse after excuse. There is a system fault, your details need to be updated, we cannot confirm the delivery, despite the buyer showing proof he has accepted the item and Vinted have been advised of this. They are money pocketing scam artists, use Gumtree and sell local, cash in your hand.

Avoid
December 13, 2024

Bought some trousers that were meant to be 34" waist, when received they were 36" and I have been told by support that I have to pay the return postage.
So I pay for someone else's error, sellers could post out anything they like and you will have to pay to return it, avoid and do not buy off this site.

Absolute disgrace
November 29, 2024

Vinted is an absolute disgrace and protects scammers.

Sold a lovely bag for £140. Photos, description all accurate. Buyer, after begging for a lower price because they 'don't have much money'. Put something on the bag (possibly talc?) and requests a refund with pictures of the bag that was black, now a pale grey colour with damage to the bottom. Completely different to how it was. States it's worn and not as described. Course it isn't, you've sodding damaged it. Vinted allow this to happen and sided with the buyer refunding them with no requirement to return. Didn't read any of my messages or screenshots or do any investigation. An absolute disgrace. Account will be deleted when the last few orders are complete.

I'd rather give my things away to charity shops than have to deal with disgusting, low life scum.

If you do decide to use this platform, watch out for sob stories, poor English (like scam emails) and repeated messages.

Terrible
Terrible. Apparently if you buy an item and don't realise it's counterfeit within 48hrs - tough Vinted don't care. SO meaning it's Ok to sell knock off products so long as you don't get caught out within 48hrs. LOAD OF RUBBISH.

Everything with Vinted seems ok until something arrives that is not as described or damaged Don't expect customer service to care. They always side with the seller even though they've charged you a so called protection fee. They make it so confusing to make the complaint that I'm sure they just hope you give up. It's disgusting and disgraceful. Buyer beware.

Use at your peril. While the interface is great to use, the issue is the customer service. It is absolutely appalling. They will not help you with any scenario. The only response they have is 'get in touch with the seller to see if you can come to an agreement'. Yet, the buyer pays for insurance. I have just had a parcel go missing, after it was stolen from my porch. I contacted customer services and was told there was nothing they could do. I have never been in this situation before and rather than honouring their insurance agreement with me I was told to contact the seller. As if the seller is responsible for my item going missing? EBay does not charge this insurance fee, and the few times in 20+ years that I've had an issue with eBay, it has been resolved amicably and very speedily. I am really not happy with how they treat their customers. If you do decide to use them I would urge you NOT to have parcels delivered to your home as you will NOT be secured by their insurance policy, whatever they claim. Also, unfortunately there is very little support for you in the case of a faulty item, as I also found out on another occasion that I contacted their appalling customer services department to get a resolution. A money grabbing and self-serving institution.

Vinted 'bots' deleted listings without warning. When you appeal the decision or ask questions about what you did wrong you still don't get clarity or explanation even when a human being replies!? The messages you receive as a seller are threatening and accusatory, full of warnings about your account being blocked! I had over 50 listings deleted which had taken me a lot of time to list! This was the last straw after several previous incidents of legitimate listings being deleted. So I spent a whole day relisting the items on Gumtree plus over 100+ more items I had on Vinted. I deleted all the Vinted listings and once I've dispatched my last orders and received the final balance I will be deleting the account and will NEVER sell or buy from Vinted again! This experience has impacted my mental wellbeing. I'm surprised this site wasn't shut down by Trading Standards ages ago! I've read it's really good if you're a scammer selling counterfeit items tho!?

Been using the app for a couple of years with no issues. Had gained over 100 positive reviews, always followed Vinted's T&Cs & now I've been blocked for literally no reason. I've tried to dispute it but all I get is bot like customer service responses. Absolute joke of a company & I am beyond enraged!

Vinted may be good for buyers but is definitely not good for Sellers! If an item you sent is damaged in the post, Vinted will take no responsibility and will argue that it was not packaged correctly so you get no compensation. My buyer was really helpful, even to the point of contacting Vinted to confirm it was well packaged and sending numerous photos of the damaged item and destruction of the dress. Despite this, Vinted stated that the dress I sent should have been packaged in a sturdy cardboard box! Vinted will not pursue the delivery company for you and when you try to pursue the delivery company yourself, they say their contract is with Vinted, not you, so you can't take it up with them either. Vinted's customer service is appalling- AI to start with, then their customer service team are difficult to contact and bordering on rude. I won't be selling on Vinted again.

I have been selling on vinted for 1 year as ebay have showed themselves to be illogical greedy fools. Yet vinted has its problems too, they blocked my account for selling antique glassware? They delete your items for sale with no reason and will eventually block you. All your 100s of hours of hard work become pointless. Sad but true. Any genuine platform for selling I'd love to hear about.
