I signed up for a free trial and was disappointed in their service. I decided to cancel within ten minutes of signing up. I googled the company and was rather worried from all the complaints that cancellations were more or less impossible. I was also rather scared when I pushed the "cancel account" button on their website and a box popped up telling me I had to call their toll-free hotline during business hours to cancel the account (they were closed). I read the contract and it states that during the free trial period cancellation requests can also be submitted via email or mail gives a sample cancellation request. I submitted the sample cancellation request via email and received an email confirmation that my account was cancelled the following morning... I'll post if I have any trouble down the road, but so far I can't complain.
Their email address is *******@usenet.nl. Just send them a message of cancellation with your account number. Should take care of it.
Usenet claims to have the correct Open Software or even Generic free licensed firmware but you need to get an account. Yeah, free for 30 days (trial) and you can stop the contract.
Guess what, the software isn't there.
But here it is, you can try stop your trial account within the 30 days, they will only respond after the trial period and then you have to pay. You can complain but then they will use a dept collection agency on you. No service what so ever, they only want your money under false pretences.
Please, do not make the same mistake I made, you are warned!
Same story here. Tried to cancel my subscription online but realized I had to call them oversees and so forth (how convenient!), so I canceled the Paypal payment. Then got a letter from them asking that I pay them 110 EURO or else they would pass the outstanding debt to their partner on site.(credit recovery company). And of course, they made sure I could wire transfer the money directly to their bank account out of fear.
What a bunch of low life, useless worms. Please people do not give in to these clowns. PLEASE IGNORE these thieves. I actually find myself quite idiot to have even registered for a free trial of pure s*h*i*t. They can send me crap letters as much as they want, I'll use these rags as toilet paper or to start a bonfire. (btw, can I put negative or at least ZERO star. One star is actually way too much.)
Just fell into the Usenet.nl trap like a fool November 2017. They took money without authorization from my account, and then when I canceled they came after me with collections.
Please people, don't even sign up for a free trial. It's a pure scam.
I was searching an e-book online and found this website. I thought they had it. Then I installed their client and signed up an account. Unfortunately, I didn't find my content, I then cancelled the service (in free-trail period of course), But After a month, I received a mail, which said I owe Usenet.nl 165 euro, wtf...
I decided to cancel my subscription immediately but couldn't log in until I copied/pasted my new user name and password from their password reset email. I logged on finally and wasted about 10 minutes attempting to cancel online only to be directed to call. I called and was put on hold for about 5 minutes and then was directed to their cancellation department where it was done immediately. I received a cancellation confirmation email within minutes. Hopefully that is the last I hear from them.
Everything that happened to all of you guys happened to me. Now technacally my deadline to pay like 60$ is today, I was about to pay but I saw all of these reviews so I was like "hell nah these suckers aint getting sh*t". Now I'm debaiting wether or not I should send them a vividly rude message in like 5 differend languages
This is a scam! Never sign up for this service. Whatever you think you need it for... trust me you don't. I signed up for the free trial and after doing so I realized they did not have the sheet music I was looking for, and then cancelled it (or so I thought). My subscription was not cancelled even after four attempts, and consequently I have been recieving invoices for the subscrption that I have never used, and to my knowledge cancelled. Also if you live in the United States and need to make phone calls to the hotline keep in mind that their business hours are different. In our time it is 3am-1pm on weekdays, and 3am-11am on Saturdays.
I thought I wanted something, and had to use Usenet to get it. It turned out that it wasn't the case anymore. So while being in first day of the trial period, I tried to cancel via e-mail and tickets. Grated, that was on a Saturday, so it may have something to do with the fact the on Monday my subscription was still active.
But, after trying again to cancel, this time with a phone call, it was a breeze. The call lasted about 2 minutes, with wait time included, and the subscription was canceled.
I panicked when reading these reviews. However, I messaged them using the online form, also emailed them at *******@usenet.nl and called the UK number from their site (available in the contact hotline page). I wanted to cover all the possibilities. After the phone call my account was cancelled. Also received an email response to my cancellation request stating it had already been done. So no issues with cancellation. I did cancel well within the free trial period and not afterwards.
That being said, the service I believe gives false results on a Google search. I was searching for a specific book which usenet.nl said they had so signed up. The book was nowhere to be found, hence the cancellation.
There are better usenet services by far.
I went to check my cap one statement online, i see a 99 fee for usenet. I never heard of them. I contacted my credit card company right away today and disputed the transaction. Don't bother calling them fist, call your credit card company and let them deal with these guys. Good thing i saw it! Don't get mad, get your money back!
I made the mistake of creating an account with usenet.nl, but fortunately gave them details of a debit card which I use only on demand, that is, when I need to buy something, I put money on it and then use it. So these fraudulent guys didn't have a chance to rob me, but they did try very hard. After I registered with free trial and realised there was nothing valuable for me on their website, I tried to cancel the subscription, but guess what? You have to call them to cancel it! That is, you have to call them from wherever in the world you happen to be, spend your money and talk to their employees who will try to persuade you into staying with them spending your own money! Well, I just waited till they blocked my account because of not being able to rob me and hope they will forget about me in the nearest future. I won't forget about them, of course, and will try to make my experience public so that other people don't get in the tramp.
Somehow I paid for two years of usenet without even knowing what it does. The customer service rep was unable to refund even a few days after the second renewal, even being able to see that I clearly did not use the service. Deplorable.
These guys are scam artists. They will harass an blackmail you if you don't cancel your trial membership on time. Be careful an learn how to block emails, return to sender on trash that comes to your billing address. They won't be getting a dime outta me.
Respond to these crooks by registering a complaint at FBI Internet Crime Complaint (https://www.ic3.gov/about/default.aspx) and Interpol (https://www.interpol.int/Forms/Access-blocking). Maybe if enough registered complaints, will drive these maggots underground?
USENET.NL make spam adverts that abuse author copyright making people think books are available as PDF for a 14 day free trial. Then you sign up, as I did, to see if my book was there and it was not. I did NOT use the service. I cancelled Paypal subscription but this does NOT cancel Usenet. Then debt collector wrote and said they wanted 115 euros because I used the service. I ignored it, problem went away.
I did termination for my account before end of trial period and they didn't reply to me then they charge me for 99 dollars they don't have emails that u can contact directly be aware of them they are liars
They took $100 out of my account when I was suppose to be charged monthly $12. They have no supervisors and refuse to return the money even if you cancelled. %100 a foreign scam compay. Stick with USA verified company's. Or be out of 100 bucks
I made the mistake of signing up for the free trial. It immediately said I had used my free limit and wanted money. I canceled the service and then they tried to rob my credit card for their fee. Fortunately for me it was at the time the card is changed out and it did not go through, now they have resorted to sending threatening emails. I suggest they come right on over here to the USA South and we will introduce them to our southern jails.
I tried to cancel way before the subscription was up and they wouldn't answer their service line. Now they are charging me $100 for no reason. Absolutely ridiculous and a truly horrible way to do business.
Answer: I've been getting them for nearly a year now. Nothing has happend beyond getting letters
Answer: I subscribed to a 14 day trial and like many quickly was faced with the difficulty of unsubscribing and locked into a 1 year plan. They will hunt you down and make you pay with a debt collector, so the only viable push back is legal support. If this has happened to you, report it to econsumer.gov and your local authorities, the more of us who report it, the more likely they will be investigated and face criminal charges.
Answer: They took money from me too but Paypal reversed it! They continued to send me me letters each time upping the amount. I have just this minute spoken to a Paypal adviser. Who said.`Don`t worry theres nothing they can do. Paypal have jurisdiction over them. If Paypal decides they are fraudulant theres nothing they can do! If they continue to harass you got to the police and ask for a harassment form... ignore them don`t pay ANYTHING TO THEM!
Answer: I haven't paid and I won't, if you ignore it as I am, then, if they want to peruse the matter they would have to get a court order to send in the bailiffs. I highly doubt they would attempt this, as shady companies, a, do t want to raise attention to their dubious practices and b) they wouldn't win anyway, as I've never even used this services what evidence could they present? It's worth noting that such threating letters could easily be deemed as harassment and you have every right to contact the police and press criminal charges!
Answer: Yes you can. With my experience working with them it's either going to be far easier or the only way to go through PayPal versus going to them directly
