I purchased Baldurs Gate 3 from gog.com last week. The app that they made me download to download the game was horrible, took almost 3 hours of sitting spinning for the download to even start. So here's where it gets really good, after taking 2 whole days to download through there less than desired app, the files were mismatched and wouldn't even play. I contacted them, they replied with download the offline version. I started to, but it was in 44 separate files, around 4gb each and every time I tried to download another file the last one would stop and say that it wasn't verified. I have asked for a refund for over a week now with no response other than automated messages saying that they have received my request. I have messaged support on there website 4 times with no information. If you want good, fast and helpful service don't go with gog especially if you end up having a problem because I'm apparently going to have to fight to get my money back.
It's been well over 30 days now and I have yet to receive anything, other than an automated reply, concerning my request for a refund... which they "claim" is the amount of time they respond in. I was also unaware there is an international transaction fee charged for every purchase. A company that is "unable" or unwilling to set up banking within the US is questionable at best.
I DO NOT recommend this company.
Have bought several games from GOG in the past all of them are now unplayable, and will not launch. Don't bother asking for a refund because the company will not give you one. This gaming service is a complete scam. Stay away. I am done dealing with this company.
I can not tell anybody to support a company that does not care about it`s customer base. GOG customer service is very bad. I will no longer buy from GOG. Customer service acts personally offended if you ask for a rebate on a game. I have 83 games in my library and I will not be buying more. I have asked for only two refunds out of the 83 games I have. I wanted to support GOG because of the whole DRM free thing BUT... Anyway, I hope this helps people
Games break months after getting them and then their GoG Galaxy stops working. Money spent on games in advance are down the tube, and unless you a buy a game at a time, and finish it within the 30 days you can forget about any refund. So basically games bought is a race to the finish as everything they have is garbage from customer service to games to quality to system to everything.
Biggest scammers in the world, stay away from them and stick to Steam.
If you ask for a refund, they credit your "wallet" on their website instead of refunding the way you paid. That's fine if you want to continue using their services, and use that money for something else on their website. However, be warned that they will tell you that there's nothing they can do if you don't want to use that money for anything else, and you want it refunded another way. They will tell you that once it has been refunded to your "wallet" on their website, there's nothing more they can do! Don't get ripped off!
Took 3 secs to make an account here wasted 20 mins with nothing cant even create an account to log in on top oh if u try to highlight something it will delet all your stuff make u start over but keep the username u put in. Use any other site
BEWARE! I bought a game and registered with GOG but could not download any games. I did download the installer but after it opens it says it cannot connect with GOG. They email me promos every day but do not answer any requests for support. It looks like they ARE in Poland.
-Most games sold require mods and a lot of tweaking just to boot and you only have a two hour return window.
-Constant propagandizing from the staff both on the discussion boards and from the main page. You'll see sales and announcements revolving around things like things like "women in gaming", BLM, "minority representation", and gay pride month (all of which happen multiple times a year).
-If you ever voice an opinion that criticizes this kind of ideologically driven advertising you are threatened by the mod staff and told that you will be permabanned if you continue such wrongthink.
-I'd recommend avoiding such a "progressive" cesspool of a site. It's not a good idea to support people who want you dead for politically disagreeing with them.
I bought a game off of here since they were having a sale and I had heard good things about they're website. After I bought my game and downloaded it I launched it and nothing happened. I thought maybe it was just some error so I tried launching it through shortcut and still nothing happened. I reinstalled my game the next day and tried relaunching it and nothing. I tried to do a verify game files/repair and that did nothing. I tried to launch it one more time and still nothing happened. Stay away from this website at all costs, it doesn't even work at all.
It takes an average of one month before GoG responds to technical help requests with a product they sell. This is outrageous. Most companies respond within days.
The moderation on their forums is so awful and biased. GoG themselves don't follow their own rules when posting political threads regarding their response to the Ukraine war, banning all Russian customers who have no control over it.
They promote woke agendas and post political threads supporting LGBTQ and women's issues yet banning individuals who challenge equity concepts in favor of equality for all persons regardless of subgroup affiliation.
Desired outcome: I hope someone else buys GoG because of GoG's parent company, CD Projekt SA, stock's downward spiraling price. Maybe then service and respect will be returned to customer service.
Got locked out of my account and can't get back in. Support takes weeks or months to reply. Ridiculous there's no way to transfer a single game from the same company that owns the platforms.
Wish I had read reviews before wasting my time and money with these people(?). Glitched product,
Lousy service and no support. I'll just have to chalk it up to lesson learned the hard way.
I am using them for years. Tremendous job is done to make old games running originally on dos, windows 95 or 98 on win 7 and 10. You do not need to stay online to play. And their special offers are really great.
Recommend it strongly
They have lots of sales on Games. However most of them are outdated and or older games that most people don't care to play anymore. I have never dealt with their customer service, but when you order a game it instantly starts downloading and an hour later you're playing.
Great website for your old school games. Every game comes with it's own installer from GOG that works on all operating systems. Great prices and special deals are always running for many different games. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for classic games of any kind.
I had no issues with any part of obtaining the original Diablo. Works just as intended despite my concerns after reading some reviews. For the amount of money it cost, I had to see for myself, as people tend to want to spread the bad news more than the good.
I am a PC tech, and found everything to work quite well! It is much appreciated to be able to play these older games on our newer devices.
If you ever have a problem with anything there will be no help. Their payment options also are quite odd. I had more then enough money and a card that allowed international. Would not accept payment. Then switched money to paypal account to buy it. Told me payment was not accepted but got charged. Had to fight tooth and nail to get the money back but they could not give me the game. I find them to be garbage mostly. But if you can get your games might be ok. Go steam if you have an option. Also if you notice most of the reviews are copy/paste. Clearly company at work.
I bought 2 games from GOG, neither of them worked. These were my first two purchases from them. I put in a ticket describing the problems in clear detail and explained that I had already tried everything suggested with no results and requested a refund. Got an automated email from them simply stating that my ticket was 'general in nature' and is now marked as Solved. No one ever contacted me. I've dealt with my fair share of scumbags before but GOG nailed it.
Beware of this app, I bought Cyberpunk and it never added to my Library. I talked to the support for months to no avail. This is a scam company. Buy your games On steam or somewhere else.
