GOG claim to have a money back guarantee. That's a complete lie.
I purchased starwars galactic battlegrounds. Multiplayer does not work. To this day, the product page clearly shows single player and multiplayer support. I have a photo attached below with proof of this.
GOG blindly claim that they do not advertise multiplayer support, and denied my refund on that basis. I persisted and showed them proof, and they wouldn't budge. What a bunch of scumbags.
They seem to have some fine games on there... but I wouldn't know, I couldn't get it to work on my computer. Then life happened and I got busy: a month or so later, I contact them and tell them it won't work, but they won't refund my money. The email I received from "Lisa" in their customer service was short and not very honest/polite (it ended with the phrase "I can't help you.") After I told them their customer service sucks, they begrudgingly offered a credit. I told them to stick it up their a$$. I refuse to support a company that treats its customers like crap and so should you. Look elsewhere for your games.
Sadly I didn't find this site and saw other GOG reviews that praised it. I purchased a game described as "download for multiple platforms" and started to download it. I cancelled the download when I found out it was ONLY Windows, and then asked for a refund. Throughout the purchase and all over their site is a "30-Day Money Back" guarantee, but when I contacted the site they only offered store credit under the guise that the game was already downloaded (also a lie). Not only did they lie about the platform of the game but the refund guarantee as well. I refused to take their store credit as I would not be using this scam website again. It looked like a scam for a reason: it IS!
I'm really not happy with customer service. I just accidentally purchased a game from them that wasn't compatible with my OS. I contacted customer service just ten minutes after I purchased the game. They refused to refund me my money, after I have previously purchased games from them before. I thought that this was much poorer service than I would have received from a competitor like Amazon. I will no longer be doing business with GoG.
Great site buy a game and get all versions they have for every OS not just one. Dont have to be locked into a front end ui like steam to play your games but if that is your thing they also have their own front end.The frontend required for auto updating otherwise if you look in your library they tell you if there is a new updated version of a game for you to download for your master back up. Otherwise any time you download the games image it is the most up to date version at that time. Download and copy your games installer to any format you wish. Cd, DvD, Flash etc etc.No drm slowing your or locking you out of your game etc.
FANTASTIC SITE! Great bargains on great games, always doing special deals, and entirely trustworthy. I've bought loads of games from them with not a single problem so far.
Can't recommend GOG enough.
This video-game download co. located in Cyprus (the country) ASSUMED that I downloaded the game after I reported to them that I experienced a broken link and their websites directions were contradicting themselves too many times. So guess what, NO REFUND. Really?? You have to ASSUME that somebody downloaded your digital content when we have had the technology to PROVE how much bandwidth was taken from you site since 1997!!! REALLY??? Don't give any these pirates American business. They will copy and paste a declaration to you rationalizing how they can keep your money. They DO NOT have to operate under U.S. law. BEWARE!!!
Its a complete scam. I downloaded commados pack and it wont work. Reinstalled gog and galaxy etc. all games too. Wont even load. I cancelled the credit card i used just in case its a hoax. Oh and go ahead and try to use the site to contact customer care. Its not possible as they dont exist. Be warned I really think all the reviews and so called "users"are complete shills. I bet no one has ever downloaded a gamer from them.
Downloaded software and it would not run. Asked for refund and was told to send diag. Files. So now I paid for the opportunity to be their debugger! Think not. They claim software would work - it did not so refund my money. DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
Been wanting to buy something off GOG for a few years and finally a Dungeon Keeper 2 promo came along where it was like $2.50. I couldn't pass it up. Well not only did the site actually do what it was supposed to, but the game was fully patched AND actually plays properly! And on top of that I got Witcher for free which I wasn't expecting and didn't even know about that promo. Maybe my expectations are really low and I'm used to things never, ever working, but GOG did come through seamlessly.
So... obviously you need Steam due to some games ONLY being on Steam (and some content being workshop-only also, and multi-player 1st or 3rd party...), but whenever possible get your stuff DRM-free from GOG.
They have pretty much most of the games I played in my early days on pc. This brought me down memory lane and I had a grand time. Best site for classics.
I bought NWN diamond and NWN 2 Complete and neither would even download. I tried the new Gog Galaxy and the older Gog downloader and neither will even start the download. I tried the use the report feature two different times and it pops up an error message. I contacted tech support and never heard back. Poorest quality game site I have ever seen.
Paid for Close Combat Panthers in the Mist. Download was in seperate parts that required GOG downloader. None of this worked. Asked for refund. Was told no, despite money back guarantee.
Chat support will not connect to a representative. No games that require the "GOG Galaxy" App will ever install. They do not respond to emails.
I created an account with GOG a few months ago and I have never deleted a service faster. This company misleads you on their refund policy to ensure it is impossible to get a refund for funds you add to GOG wallet. You are encouraged to add funds to your GOG wallet under the promise you can refund the money to your bank account within 30 days. I added $15 to my wallet to buy a game. However, in my case, I purchased one of their games (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) and it did not work on any of my systems. When I requested a refund, I was told they would gladly refund the money for the game ($10) to my GOG wallet, but that I could not have the funds I sent to my GOG wallet ($15) refunded to my bank account because I had "used the funds." Excuse me? You just refunded me the $10 for the game, effectively cancelling that purchase, so I should also be able to refund the entire $15 back to my card (along with the international transaction fees, since they are based in Poland and apparently do not have a U.S. branch). I argued this and my ticket was closed. Whatever, they can keep the $15 since my bank's deadline for chargeback has passed. I'm closing my account and posting this review to warn others to stay away. They advertise 30 day returns but will then nitpick your case for any excuse to deny giving you the money back. It makes me wonder why they bother offering returns at all. One last thing, if you want any help, get ready to sit through 15 minutes of talking with their support chatbot, which will do everything in its power to prevent you from talking to an actual human. And when you do get to email an actual human, expect to take at least 3 days to get to a solution. I won't be using them again or recommending them to anyone going forward.
I love this site, it's easy to use and I found a lot of games I haven't played for a looong time! Very fun and the games are at the right price. I'm really glad to have found this site.^^
YES, I'm one of the PISSED OFF customers. On May 28th, 2016 I Ordered and Paid to receive CONQUEST: FRONTIER WARS. I tried several times to download and it kept failing.
I have been trying to get a hold of someone at GOG ever since. NO SUCH LUCK! I would say it was like they disappeared off the face of the Earth, but NO, they are still around because I keep getting their 'offers' to buy more. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT EVER HAPPENING AGAIN!
The $5.99 for the game, about 2x Fosters Oil cans worth, no biggie, but the principle of the matter, GOG, if they are going to operate like this, they need to be taken down, and I have given them several opportunities to make it right, and they won't even contact me and even have the decency to LIE to me, or give some BS excuse. So I'll revoke payment and report them the BBB. I suggest everyone do the same.
One FRIGGIN STAR because there is no ZERO stars.

I made an account with them and then realized I was really ever going to actually use it and I immediately starting getting their emails for deals and this and that. I found it annoying and when I went to unsubscribe from the emails it takes me to some 404 error page and doesn't let me unsubscribe. So then I went to delete my account, and there is no option to do so on the site. So I looked into it and it turns out you actually have to contact customer support and they have to delete it for you? Already I was annoyed that I couldn't just simply delete it like any other site I've used. So I contact them and ask for my account to be deleted and to be taken off the email list. This was on April 1st. I've since had several email replies from them telling me my account will be deleted within 24hours of my confirmation reply which was on april 2nd, my account is still there, and I'm still getting spammy emails. And they "assured" me that my account was deleted, and it's not. I don't know if I'm emailing with the same person or not but one of the emails told me that they did in fact take me off the list, but that scheduled emails had already gone out right before that and that's why I got that email but I shouldn't get any more after that. I'm still getting them. It feels like a trap, and now I'm extremely frustrated because they won't actually let me leave?!
No installation instructions requires you to download a 4 gig file in browser before it can install do not buy large games from gog.
Got myself Kings Bounty on GOG. COM. Had every single bug possible, payed the same price at Steam.com.No issues what soever. Waste of money and time
