I bought two 3 month subscriptions for two different addresses, one for my sister and one for my daughter. My sister got her three boxes, no problem. I got one month and then they stopped. Emails and phone calls followed and the problem was worked out. They offered to gift me 6 additional months after my original subscription ran out. In the mean time, I got hit with the auto renewal for my sister. Then in May, I received 3 boxes shipped to my house, 2 with the same content & 1 with different. Eric from customer service sent me tracking # for the 3 without mailing addresses. So, MORE emails and requested phone calls followed to find out what was going on. They blame it on shipping glitches. BTW- mine was flagged to be manually filled and shipped.
Due to monthly customer service correspondence, I requested a credit for the renewal for my sister's address and walked away from the free gift, They did credit my card and we parted. A pretty frustrating company to deal with if a customer walks away from free boxes.
Either, they have idiots in the shipping department or this company is having major internal issues.
Interesting fact, I found out from one of companies that I received a sample from that this company receives the samples free in return for advertising. The company didn't know how they got ahold of samples because they won't work with them. In closing, if you don't mind monthly phone calls, emails, or headaches sign up! If you want a well run subscription please choose another company.
I love ordering gift boxes for friends and family and have had very good experiences with Brotein Box and Allure Beauty Box to name a few. However, I ordered a Bestowed (now called UrthBox) 3-month gift box as a gift for a friend. Ordered in July and the first box was due to come in August. Had no idea if or when the gift was received because they do not send tracking. Upon contacting them (virtually impossible to reach by phone - they suggest emailing them and it takes 24-48 hours to respond!) they informed me I would need to contact them every month to get tracking. August box was finally received the end of the month. In September, I reached out to again request the tracking info. When they finally sent it - it was tracking info for August! I emailed several times last week and have heard NOTHING. In the meantime, as of October 1 they have conveniently charged me for ANOTHER 3 month subscription! Really?!?!?! I don't even know if my friend has received the SECOND box, much less when he will receive the THIRD one - and they are charging me for ANOTHER 3 months? Tried to call this morning, but can't get a live person. If you leave a message, you are told they will call you back within 24-48 hours. I've now left messages and sent multiple emails and am waiting to hear back. Also calling my bank to report the charges and have them removed. Don't waste your money on this one! A reputable company would have customer service available to respond in a timely fashion.
My son got me three months of urthbox for Christmas. After several attempts to register my son emailed the company and was told they were overwhelmed with orders and to just be patient.
We were finally able to register in February, but then did not received the first shipment until well into April. The shipment was lackluster to say the least. The snack selection was mediocre and most of the items tasted and looked like they had spent some time in a warehouse that was not climate controlled. I had to throw some of the chewier items away because I didn't want to risk breaking a tooth.
Unfortunately for me, there was a holiday special that provided an extra free box of snacks, but they didn't tack on an extra month. Instead they sent me two of the same mediocre heat tainted boxes with the exact same products in them. The following month brought different products, but of the same poor quality and just not very exciting or interesting. I could have gotten any of the products in a fresher state from any one of a hundred stores in my city.
Also, if you order this thinking the snacks are healthy you will be in for a rude awakening. Not especially healthy or even that tasty. My son tried to do something nice and different for me, but I feel bad that he wasted his money on such a poor experience and made sure he saw and sampled what I received.
Ordered a 3 month package as a gift for someone but they received 9 months worth. Deceptive practice of automatic renewal. They claim transparency of this practice but it is inherently deceptive.
The boxes themselves are a nice idea but I had an HORRIBLE experience with this company. They literally scammed me. To start I received a gift code from a friend which I was excited about. I input the code during my check out, weirdly they require you to put down your credit card information so I did because I couldn't redeem my code without that. I checked my bank account a few days later and THEY CHARGED ME $150! Even though I had used a gift code. I had to email back and forth and eventually got refunded. Too add, my shipment information was not recorded after I checked out. Which was not my fault at all because I was not allowed to even go to the next page without writing it down. I had to email back and forth about that as well and finally got it fixed. I was finally happy, UNTIL 6 months later I see a charge for $150 on my credit card. I had absolutely no idea that a gift code resulted in me being stuck in monthly subscriptions. They do not allow to you have a one time offer. I was literally scammed and they refused to refund me. Horrible service, not worth $150 just to get weird snacks I don't even eat.
After several email exchanges, UrthBox agreed to refund my annual fee. As others had mentioned, I didn't actually expect this to happen but, to my surprise, I received a credit on my CC statement.
If I could give a rating less than one star, I would. I received a 6-month subscription as a gift but was never told the subscription would automatically renew. Although their website says you can cancel at any time, this is false... if you don't cancel before the 1st of the month, your card is automatically charged. They will cite their policy and tell you this information is stated on their FAQ, terms of service and order receipt (which I never received and it's now obvious why). You can't reach anyone by phone and their customer service is a joke. Huge favor they did for me in cancelling for the next cycle, in 6 months and $162.00 later.
I ordered on December 9th for my son who is in the army and is a vegan, I thought it would be a nice Christmas present and as it is hard to find vegan snacks, I was excited as was he. The first box didn't arrive until the end of February, and it came to my address. Two of the snacks were tiny bags of unpopped popcorn kernals?! What should I do with this, spend 50.00 on a popcorn machine. I emailed them, and they said they corrected the address. They didn't, I received the second lame box as well (snacks are not the ones reflected on their website.) also came to me, despite the address correction. Customer service Eric needed proof that I did request an address change, and I forwarded him my email exchange with him confirming this. Much to my disappointment I was charged for a renewal, given my son didn'[t receive any boxes, I vigouously fought this. Unscrupulous practices. My son received a box 4 months after I ordered it, and was so disappointed. Others in his squadron receive huge care packages from home, and he received a phone size case worth of inedible snacks. To make matters worse, I notice the next package is being shipped once again to the wrong address. I just want my money back, my son said to donate to Wounded warriors and forget snacks. This is a terrible company
The boxes are always late. The snacks are tiny and most expire within a couple of months. I received some that expired within 10 days of receiving them. Some snacks didn't have expiration dates and smelled moldy. One month they sent nasal spray- is that a snack? No. Also the customer service is awful.
Do not expect to be helped with payment/subscription issues from support. Honestly would avoid at all costs.
One of these subscriptions makes my life happier and easier and provides excitement. Unlike other subscriptions, it does not accumulate.
Received 7 items in my first box and 4 of the items expire within 30 days of the shipment. I would never order again.
I love the variety of protein bars I get to try. My lunch is always on the go. At least now I have variety and I am eating clean.
I'm vegan, always thinking about where and what to snack on, the perfect option to always have tasty and healthy food on hand.
Canceling your subscription is very easy! All you need to do is log into your account and click the cancel button.
We found Urth unreliable: Not concerned w. Fulfilling cust. Orders.
Our experience maybe fraudulent.
If I could put no stars I would.
1-I am now working with my credit card company to get the refund UrthBox claimed they would give me, I will be reporting their fraud to the Canadian Better business Bureau as well as the FDA in the United States. I have been waiting 2 months for my refund. No product. No refund.
2-Boxes arrive 1.5 months late. I assumed the boxes that arrived between the 16-22nd of each month were the box for that month and not the previous. This causes confusion when a person wants to cancel an automatic renewal. My "June" box arrived on July 22nd, my "July" box arrived on August 16th.
3-An automatic renewal for a 3 month subscription showed up on my credit card before I had received my second box of the first subscription. This happened because they send out the boxes late. I was not expecting the automatic renewal to happen so fast!
4- I called to stop the subscription renewal and was told that they were following their own automatic renewal policy of renewing if I hadn't canceled 30 days before the last box on August 1st for the September box. By then I had just received the second box and the third box hadn't even been shipped yet! Yet somehow they were able to charge me for boxes 4-6. Fine. My mistake for not noticing that the boxes arriving were a month and a half late.
5-I agreed to buy the first of the three boxes on the automatic renewal because this was their policy but I HAD TO READ THEM WORD FOR WORD THEIR OWN POLICY TWICE from their website before they would agree to refund me for the two months (boxes 5 and 6).
6-I received an email stating that I would see the refund on my credit card in the next 5 business days. No payment was received.
7-I contacted them again to let them know that I had not yet received the payment. Again they said that I would receive the payment with in 72hrs. The payment never came.
Ordered a vegan box subscription for a friend, she was satisfied.
I often take this set. Thank you for such a great product!
Answer: It's a legit company, but their customer service practices are so shady I'd recommend you run in the other direction. Poor quality products, terrible customer service.
Answer: In my experience they do respond, but they don't really do anything to help remedy the situation. Avoid this company.
Answer: They were highly rated by professional shoppers and gift companies. I think they are getting their kinks worked out as what my kids have recieved are decent snacks and things we haven't heard of which was the idea for the gift. Shipping has been the biggest issue as we haven't known when to expect package.
