If you've waited until after 24 hours to cancel your order, like most people after a month of waiting for their FIRST box to arrive, then you're stuck with the full subscription which you paid for. It costs $600 to order the cheapest version, 12 months with the most amount of treats, but if you want to cancel after 24 hours of ordering, you can't. You're better off canceling through your bank than through the company.
Don't use Urthbox. I placed an order in the evening, realized in the am that my computer had auto inputted my previous address. I called Urthbox the next morning, but they don't open til 9am!, so I sent a chat message to have them cancel the order and the message replied they would get back to me - right! Over the weekend (they are closed) I checked Saturday and Sunday and my order was unfulfilled. Got to work Monday morning and I checked and the order said filled. I had to wait for them to open zzzzz... leave my work to call them again. They said too late, we never got your message and too late. Sa basically I spend $60 on my first box, sent to my previous address, and was told even if they reject the order, Urthbox says they cannot accept the food back. I get it, but please all of this happened because you have banker hours and your employees are not checking chat messages. I promise I am letting everyone know about why NOT to use Urthbox and that is going to cost them more than $60. I recommend Imperfect Foods. We have a good few years with them before we moved. I was just going to try something different, but guess I'll head back to Imperfect Foods! BOO Urthbox!
I ordered the $80ish gift certificate for my parent. The urthbox website sent her the gift certificate code to use, but then still charged her- she had to put her credit card info in in order to proceed (why she put her credit card info in, I don't know lol). So not only did they get my money but they got hers as well. This is one big scam. You can not contact anyone from the site. DO NOT buy from urthbox.
We plan to refute the charges on our cards.
Agree with the negative reviews of Urthbox. I have yet to receive my September box and I ordered it on August 16th. Eric in customer service has blamed it on Covid protocols and said the order had been processed and would send a tracking number. There is NO tracking number because they haven't shipped the product. When I said I wanted an refund, they are deducting $40 off the 6 month subscription! They do not answer the customer service line and they do not respond when you leave a message. Absolutely horrible experience and now I am out $165.
I opted for the "healthy"/"diet" version of the box with a gift certificate from my daughter last Christmas. The first box did not come until mid-February. I can honestly say I did not even LIKE anything in ANY of the boxes. The taste was not palatable or appealing in any way. It became a joke each month and then it got auto-renewed after the initial 6 month gift ran out. I promptly cancelled the 6 month renewal and got 5 months credit back. Not a good practice to auto-renew. Customer servcies responsed promptly.
They have extremely poor customer service. They have a auto mated message system, you can never get to a representative if you try calling them every day of the week. They charge you without letting you know. Overall poor customer satisfaction
I have been trying to get a hold of the for 4 DAYS. Emails and phone and NOTHING. The boxes are so small and the snacks ALL suck. You either get a single tea bag or a disgusting sweet pork bar with apricot in it... I wasted so much money on this company and they will not do a thing! DO NOT RECOMMEND. No wonder then have a 1 star rating...
Disappointed. I gave one star for the concept and an extra star for the food, which I hope is edible but not sure because it was a subscription for a holiday gift. Small box for 3 months. It took 2 months after holiday for 1st box to arrive, which is not great but I was patient. Auto-renewal billed to my credit card, and then told "it's too late to cancel" is the great disappointment. Auto-renewal in general is unethical, especially not honoring customer cancellation requests for arbitrary reason, ESPECIALLY during COVID when people's finances are so fragile. Even essential services like my car insurance isn't auto renewed.
This website is a scam. Theres only 1 person that runs it and they autorenew your subscription without telling you and force you into a 1 year contract. They make up a lot of excuses for their bad business pratices. Take a look and decide for yourself.

Dont make the same mistake I did of giving your credit card details to this money thieving company.
I ordered 3 months of the Keto box. I wish I had started with one. More than half the items in the box are not Keto or low carb friendly so I couldn't even eat them. Waste of money. When I emailed Urthbox to cancel I explained that many items in their the Keto box were not low carb they did not respond to that and just canceled my subscription.
In my opinion, this is the worst company I have encountered and had to deal with in my 24 years of living. I purchased a 6-month subscription through Groupon (this is where many UrthBox horror stories begin) and received multiple boxes with damaged products, including one in which the drink had leaked onto the contents. I did not pursue replacement boxes due to the fact my subscription would be ending eventually... boy was I wrong! Of course, I was later charged the full price ($125) for another 6-month subscription in late 2015/early 2016 without my approval. I argued with them over email and disputed the charges with my bank. My bank decided to credit the amount back to me and I eventually won the dispute. However, it must be clear that UrthBox did NOT refund me and blatantly refused to. They denied any record of my calls to customer service (which I did place many times). I have concluded that it is safe to say that the very late arrival of these monthly boxes (and damaged boxes) are the least of your worries when it comes to this company. Years later, I still remember the stress that UrthBox put me through.
I ordered a gift certificate for a friend who had surgery, she ordered a large Urthbox and still has not received it. Multiple attempts have been made to contact the company but they do not respond.
They sneakily auto subscribe you and send an email subscription notice AFTER they charge you only to tell you that you need to cancel BEFORE they sent the email and there is no cancel button on the account settings. They care more about scamming people out the money than getting real customers, notice they have an F from the Better Business Bureau. Also, THE PRODUCTS SUCK and went into the garbage can every time!

A good idea in theory, but not in practice. I ordered the gluten free box subscription, and half the items were labeled "processed in a facility that also processes wheat, etc." That is NOT gluten-free! After going round and round with them, I was finally able to cancel my subscription. When I outed them on social media, named their owner (Behnam Behrouzi) and mentioned his other failed businesses and general lack of ethics, they flat out THREATENED ME.

I received a 6 month subscription as a gift and a few red flags went up when I went to "cash it in" because on the site you are forced to also give your credit card info. I didn't want to but it wouldn't allow me to use the pre-paid gift card if I didn't. Once the 6-month gift expired I was still receiving boxes and didn't know why - UNTIL I looked back at my credit card statements and found that the company, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, went ahead and charged me $161.94 for ANOTHER 6 months of snacks. I'm trying to get a full refund and may never see all of it (they've offered a partial refund) but I can at least warn others. This company is not worth it and they are taking advantage of people. They have lots of complaints on them and the San Francisco branch has an F rating from the BBB.

These boxes are expensive for what you get and the customer service is terrible. I was unsatisfied with a box I received and the customer service was horrible. All they would do for me was "allow" me not to pay for and receive 3 out of the 6 boxes I had left in my subscription. I still need to pay for 3 more. I didn't get any compensation for the product I was unsatisfied with. They automatically re-subscribe you without warning and then will not, under any circumstances, offer a refund or get out of a subscription you didn't mean to sign-up for (or rather that you forgot to cancel). It's shady business practices and this company should be avoided.
Also, the products they give you just aren't great. In my most recent box almost all the products were repeats. I got two 5 Hour Energy shots (not really a vegan snack...) and caffeinated mints (again, not a vegan snack). Last year I received Ginger Chews so many times in a row I think I have 5 bags sitting in my pantry- more ginger chews than I will probably ever consume. I paid around $30 for the box and there's about $5 worth of product I'll actually consume.

I received a three month gift certificate from my son. I got the vegan boxes.
The first months box was exciting and fun. I love to try new things. Over the months, the quality and usefulness of the food varied. On while I would say while the food likely wasn't worth the purchase price, it was a nice way to give a thoughtful gift to someone like me.
What happened next though is NOT cool. My son bought a three month gift. At the end of the three months, they charged him again for another three months for me! Boxes kept coming and I wasn't particularly paying attention to the three months being up, I mostly just noticed I was accumulating a back up of weird food I wouldn't get to (like two pouches of sugar free brownie mix and a lot of lollipops).
Come to find out that even when you buy a three month gift for someone and pay in advance, there is fine print that they will charge you all over again for the three months. That is not honest, it is deliberately deceptive to see what they can get away with.
I do not recommend.
I used a gift card for a 3-month subscription. I was then charged for another 3-month subscription as they required my credit card to use the gift card. Lizel in customer service refused to refund me. Even though, per Lizel in customer service, there were options to cancel, I was not aware. The checkout site interface is not user friendly. I couldn't even use my original gift card without contacting customer support. Also, the snacks were repetitive (applesauce in multiple boxes), were things I could easily pick up at the grocery store, and/or were super boring (roasted pecans, applesauce).
Most unethical company ever!- It takes almost 2 months to get your order- A negative review was made on several review boards and when Urthbox found out, they sent a cease and desist letter to remove the comments. The two names from Urthbox were totally made up and the people didn't actually exist.- Urthbox bought stock from a company *Try the World) who went bankrupt. They bought it at a discount, and then sent it to their companies. The small family-owned producers were never paid for their stock and it affected their whole company. Some of the items that Urthbox sent out in their "monthly box" was expired.- Urthbox sent an email stating they had nothing to do with Try The Workd)the bankrupt company, yet they both have the same mailing address.DO NOT BUY FROM URTHBOX! THEY ARE UNSCRUPULOUS, UNETHICAL, AND LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!
Extremely bad experience!
1) I started the subscription early August (August 8th) and the first box was received on 25th Sept --> after 1.5 months. That is way too long a waiting period
2) They automatically renew your subscription without any e-mail or any notification. This makes you feel that they are desperate for customers and will go to any means to extract money from them. Now a days, almost all subscription based companies send you an e-mail a couple of days before the renewal period to notify you or the least they do is drop you a note when they have renewed
3) The only positive thing was that they agreed to return my money when I disputed. However, they could not even see that through. After multiple attempts to send across a check to me (how difficult can that be, right?), they failed (sent it to wrong address the first time and did not correctly process it the second time). Now they have told me that they can't do anything about it and I need to put it up for dispute with my financial institution... Pathetic!
Opt for other services out there. This is not worth it.
Answer: It's a legit company, but their customer service practices are so shady I'd recommend you run in the other direction. Poor quality products, terrible customer service.
Answer: In my experience they do respond, but they don't really do anything to help remedy the situation. Avoid this company.
Answer: They were highly rated by professional shoppers and gift companies. I think they are getting their kinks worked out as what my kids have recieved are decent snacks and things we haven't heard of which was the idea for the gift. Shipping has been the biggest issue as we haven't known when to expect package.
UrthBox has a rating of 2.6 stars from 84 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with UrthBox most frequently mention customer service, credit card and month subscription. UrthBox ranks 7th among Meal Delivery sites.
