We have used travel zoo 5 or 6 times now, and have enjoyed places we probably would have tried until we saw them on Travlezoo, We had the time and a good reason which was price, so we took advantage of there offers. We will continue to check offers. And tell people about the great deals.
Scam artistry at its finest. Stole $39 from me for a restaurant voucher, to a restaurant that wasn't even open, but was still taking online reservations. If that's not ripping people off for their hard earned money, I don't know what is. Customer service repeatedly told me they would do nothing for me, not even a travelzoo credit?! And why would they do anything, for me or anyone else as it appears? They don't, because then they get to keep all of that stolen money. With such poor ratings, bad reviews on scambook, scamadvisor, complaintsboard, key words "voucher fraud", I wish I would have researched before I purchased. They got me once, never again. Read these reviews before you buy, and think again!
I recently purchased a trip to Paris in October through travelzoo and this company has very bad business practices. Immediately after I asked a bout trip insurance I was charged for my trip then told they don't offer trip insurance nor do they allow for cancelation or changes to reservations. The airline gives a 24 hour cancelation for any reason and the hotel gives up until the day before arrival to cancel. So what gives. I'm a very honest reviewer. You can text me at *******115 I will give you all you need to avoid these people scamming you. Worst of all when I checked the same flight with the same hotel on the same days I would have saved over $400.00 and that's leaving in October! My reservation number is *******. If I can prevent one person from getting robed. Or at least full disclosure so your fully informed about your purchase it's all worth while. Grace a Dieu!
I will never revisit this third rate Spa. A total waste of money. I was woken up at 6am by loud noises that continued until I gave up and went to breakfast. My complaint was fobbed off at every stage and much later on when I finally got a response to my emails I received what I can only describe as a work of fiction from an unknown person who assumed the authority to ban me from future visits after evading the legitimate points that I raised. My companion also complained about this and a separate matter and received a similarly disgusting response. Dishonest and profiteering management. Wild horses would not get me to return even if they came saddled with cash as a sweetner.

In the summer of 2016, hubby and I went to Washington DC for a monument/museum vacation. We purchased a bus tour package (they had a special buy 1 get 1) and we were able to get transported to and from several monuments and museums in a day. The tour was great and also has a very cordial and informative bus driver... all for the low price of $29. Most recently, we had to stay in Boston for a long weekend for business at a convention center. I wanted to stay at the hotel across the street for convenience purposes and only Travelzoo had the best prices out of all the sites: expedia, hotwire, kayak, etc. Never count out Travelzoo!

Just wanted to say I booked a trip through Travelzoo and ended up having to cancel it to change dates. It was painless switching the date with re booking and cancelling the previous booking. I have used Travelzoo a few times now and find them very good!

Do not book with this company, they cancelled my holiday but would not give me a full refund only three quarters off the holiday value! Wot are the staff up to? I think they need a full investigation off ripping customers off!

Run. Stay away. Save your time and money. Booked trip to Asia (3 counties) with travel dates in Nov 2023. First deposit was in Oct 2022 and second in Nov 2022. Final payment should be in May 13,2023. On Feb 16 2023 I got email that I have to pay full amount by Feb 26, if I want to continue with booking and sign wavers (that in case of any problems with trip like Covid-it my responsibility (not company). I tried to call them but after an hours of waiting they hang up on me. Complete scam. I will call all federal agencies to get my money back. Stay away from Uto Vacation

They are not a reputable company. They do not honour their refund policies without a ridiculous amount of effort from the customers. I was one of the lucky few who got my money back, most were not so lucky!
I booked a two night stay at a resort in Colorado. Got confirmation number and e mail confirming the stay. Five days later my reservation got cancelled, I only noticed because my credit card had been refunded without my consent. Called Travel Zoo and no one could explain why. Tried to rebook and they said they kept getting an error with their 3rd party booking company Get a room. Meanwhile, I called my credit card company and all charges were approved and no issues on my side. I tried 2 other cards and the mysterious "error" kept coming up. I even called the hotel because Zoo told me they were the ones that cancelled it. I called the hotel and they had no record of cancelling the reservation but saw that indeed it was by the 3rd party. I took my business elsewhere, something smelled too fishy. I do not recommend trying to save a buck using this shady website. After 3 conversations with different agents, I gave up and so should you.

I understand when pandemic hits, we are in this together. What makes me write this review for today is I hope everyone learns from me. I booked a vacation package in early December prior to the pandemic. When this happened, I waited for a long time to have agent contacted me, practically passing our travel date. In the end result, if we asked for our refund, we will lose more than 60% of what we paid for our trip, and if we decided to get travel voucher, we still lose more than 40% of total amt we paid for. Pandemic is never anyone fault, but to see how travel agency treats its customer by robbing their customers money, I absolutely do not recommend anyone to book w them. Poor practice in principle and integrity of a business. Stay away!

TravelZoo has been sending me emails without my permission for years now. I have tried and tried to get them to stop but they won't. They have an unsubscribe at the bottom of the page but you have to make an account with them, including password, before you get into the site to unsubscribe. What kind of nonsense is this? I have blocked them time and time again but they keep getting into my inbox. Now I am getting emails almost every hour. Today, I did some research and found a phone number, I called to be told it will take time to remove my email since there are already many emails going into my inbox. I asked for a supervisor and their rep, Yamal, started arguing with me. Any company that has to keep someone hostage to keep up their numbers is a company you should never trust. Run from this nightmare. There are companies out there with good reputations.

I was planning to take my mother to China and my friend advised me to look at Travelzoo deals. I had been a Travelzoo member for several years, but never really opened their emails b/c I've heard rumors of customers running into booking issues with Travelzoo's partners and I haven't had the urge to travel in MANY years.
Anyhow, I found a great deal on Travelzoo from Sinorama Travel in February 2018. The price was ~$2400 for 2 ppl including hotel, airfare, and some "optional" activities, for visit to 4 cities in China over 10 days. Awesome deal, right?! I jumped on the deal and booked the trip for October 2018. Well...
Fast forward to August 2018 and I find out that Sinorama lost it's travel licence so turns out the trip was, indeed, too good to be true. Luckily, I purchased travel insurance...

After UTO vacations tried to rip me off on a China/Japan trip, I spoke to Travelzoo about it. Travelzoo could not care less and they also continued to advertise the same trip from UTO on their site! UTO said the trip was canceled and tried not to refund me. I must admit that in the end UTO did refund my money but it was not easy to get the refund. UTO will try to get YOU to cancel in anyway they could and if you don't they still try to not refund you. When I originally bought the trip I asked myself how they could sell these trips for so cheap and the answer was that they cannot.

Be very careful when buying vouchers from TravelZoo Canada (Toronto). I've been burned by two restaurants going out of business, and there aren't a lot of options to choose from when they give you a credit to compensate. And you may only find something at a lesser value. They were not sympathetic about the inconvenience - they would only credit the value of the voucher, and were very slow in responding. Consider other deal sites instead!

We had a horrible experience with Travelzoo after we booked an expensive charter boat advertised by Bridge Bay of Shasta Lake advertised on Travelzoo which unilaterally cancelled our trip one day before we planned to depart and Bridge Bay refused to provide us with any refund. Travelzoo only offered to provide a partial refund. This is not only an unfair business practice, it is entirely unscrupulous, misleading, and a breach of contract.

Travelzoo.com was the site I used to book my tour to China. When I found out I was unable to travel because their partner never booked me on the tour. They refused to help me. Their vice president of HR Lisa Oswald did nothing to help me. When I posted a negative review on their face book account they removed it. So when you read their reviews you don't see the tens of thousands of negative reviews because they remove them. All you see our positive reviews. Their platform on Facebook is a fake.

I booked a room at Holiday Inn Express in Orlando through TravelZoo and Hotel Planner. I prepaid one amount but when I checked out of the hotel, the hotel receipt was for a lower price! Hotel Planner was not willing to adjust the price -- they stated that I had agreed to the price and that was it. A second issue was my rewards account with IHG. Hotel Planner asked for my membership number and included it on my reservation -- making it seem like I would be getting reward points for my stay. Not true! Booking through them did not give me points.
So, I learned my lesson... book directly with the hotel for the best price and for the reward points.

I wrote my review after a very stressful day trying to cancel travel plans. Travel zoo reached out to me and when I explained the situation and reason for cancellations they actually gave me a full refund, which I was fine with a credit too. I still want to make the trip, but due to the health hazards with coronavirus, it puts my more fragile health in jeopardy. I want to say thank you for travel zoo for the special consideration.
To those booking, proceed with caution, but that's with everything these days and read ALL the fine print. Travel zoo completely redeemed themselves and I plan to use them in the future again.

When booking using the site, it says that reservations can be cancelled even claim "book now cancel later", what they dont tell you is that it is only if you cancel more than 30 days before your travel date. Anything closer to the reservation date is charged full price. I called 21 days prior to travel, and can not cancel, get a partial refund, change dates or anything. Will be charged full price for a hotel I can't go to. I will never use this site again.
