So we book to France and Travelocity changes one leg, does not ask, throws off connecting flights in Europe so we cannot print new tickets so we cancel everything, Travelocity deducts $300 and tortures us with hours spent chatting with 'agents' who simply disappear because the problem is too involved for
Them to solve (metrics, you know). Then they keep $300, no refund, just a credit on UAL which (good luck with this) we can supposedly use to book another flight. Have not even looked at restrictions on that. Moral: these guys are great at bundling, adding cars and hotels but they run from help, offer no phone numbers, leaving you to (not) chat all night with agents who cannot solve problems of their own making. So if there are any changes in your travel plans, regardless of who makes them, Travelocity cannot help. Book your own flights, hotels, car and tours direct. We made pages and pages and pages of screen grabs of our 'chats' but there is no place to submit them. One star is one star too many. They loused up our once in a life time travel to Europe and no second chances.
We booked a trip to Mexico with a layover in Dallas at 11:40am our flight was to leave at 6am from STL. We arrived 1.5 hours early to the airport our flight on the board was on time. We made our way to the gate and by the time we got there our flight was "pushed back" to 3pm, and then ultimately cancelled. We had purchased the Trip Insurance for the whole trip, and have been able to get our flight refund -- HOWEVER even though the hotel was advertised as refundable Travelocity has refused to refund the hotel charges EVEN with the Trip Insurance and the flight being refunded. Lesson learned, with Travelocity the Insurance means nothing and they will not work with you.
I booked a package trip 2 months in advanced. Arrived late to my hotel after delayed flights. When I got to the hotel, they told me my reservation had been canceled over a month ago. So I payed out of pocket for a room so I could get some sleep. The rate I got through travelocity was $247 for the hotel total, the rate at the hotel was $568. I called travelocity the next morning. After being on hold for 2 hours. They told me they didn't know why the reservation was canceled but they showed it was canceled by Expedia and they couldn't help me, since I paid out of pocket for the room. They refunded my $247 after a half hour of arguing. I paid for the package protection plan with this trip and it did me no good. Don't waste your time with these jokers, their customer service is absolutely terrible and they're not willing to offer any help. SAVE YOUR MONEY AVOID TRAVELOCITY!
BOOK THROUGH LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE. Travelocity is horrendous. My mother booked a round trip flight and had an unexpected death in the family. The funeral ended up being the day after her initial return flight was scheduled, so she needed to move her return flight. No change fees, should be easy right? WRONG. After their system told us we needed to contact customer service to change the reservation, it took more than 6 HOURS to finally speak to someone. We each were continually hung up on, redirected, etc. The agent I finally connected with ensured me that he would rebook her flight and charge the difference of the new flight to her card ($275). She agreed and he then said the system was down so she would have to contact the airline directly to change it. She called the airline and they were going to charge an insane fee for not going through Travelocity to change the flight. Upon hearing this, I started a new marathon of trying to get back in contact with an agent at Travelocity. The new agent said the new flight would now cost almost $400 (the same one that was $275 initially). He said the prices fluctuate and we should have booked it when it was $275 despite explaining that the system was down. We then learned that the initial agent CANCELLED HER FLIGHT WITHOUT HER PERMISSION. Knowing the system was down, he still decided to cancel her flight without informing her. After several more hours on the phone, the airline informed me that her flight was cancelled by Travelocity. Travelocity is now requiring a death certificate to get a refund for the flight that THEY CANCELLED WITHOUT PERMISSION. Book through the airline directly or any other travel site. Travelocity is a JOKE. Her sister passed and now she's out almost $800 due to their errors. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. If you have any issues, you will continually be hung up on, redirected, or disconnected. DO NOT USE TRAVELOCITY.
They are a joke! We paid for extra insurance and due to Covid couldn't keep our reservation. They made it IMPOSSIBLE to claim our deposit
So we realized well within the allowed timeframe to make changes to your flight, and also had the flight cancellation protection on the trip. So long story short, the flight was for the wrong day for the return flight. I went in to change the reservation which told me to click here to change my flight. I did that and it literally ran me back through the whole
Process again and charged me for another flight. I called customer service and he told me I would receive a credit for the first flight. I never got an email and I never received a credit. I called Travelocity and went theough 4-5 people and finally asked to speak to a supervisor. Advertised send that there was not a supervisor to take my call. They put me on hold again. Disconnected me and I called back. Now we are at the 2 hour mark! I'm still on hold and when I tell you, do not EVER book through Travelocity I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Imagine, I typed all this and I'm still waiting for a supervisor for a s one time. They're calls are outsourced to another they country and I can barely understand them. So, with all that said, after two hours I'm just going to chalk this up to a lesson learned and the app is being deleted from my phone as we speak. Again, "DO NOT BOOK WITH TRAVELOCITY"! Screw these people!
Do not use Travelocity!
Instead find your flights on Travelocity and then book directly with the airline.
My wife and I have $1361 worth of flight credits on Travelocity that they will not let us use because they say American Airlines controls them. When we call American Airlines, they say Travelocity is in control of the flight credits and we can't use them. We have spent numerous calls asking Travelocity to resolve this issue to no avail. Our most recent experience they hung up on us. Our money is trapped in Travelocity and we have no recourse. This is stealing! Deal directly with the airline and don't let your money pass through Travelocity.
When booked 2 nights at Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront IHG Hotel it was not a minimum 2 nights package mandatory specified. We asked to cancel a night but they refused saying that there is a minimum 2 nights booking. We canceled both nights and they charged us $233.
I booked a rental car through Travelocity. They never transferred my payment to the rental car company, so I was charged by both companies for the same car. I called on 10/1/21 after noticing the double charge. It took me 4 calls that day to speak with someone who was able to figure out what happenend. I was told it would take up to 10 business days to get my refund. 12 days later and nothing, so I made another call, had to explain again what had happened only to be told they are working on it. And I still don't have my $820 refund. Will never use Travelocity again.
Do not use them! Save yourself the headache and book directly with the airline. I had 2 flights booked with them that I had to cancel due to the pandemic and the airline will say. We are happy to give you a refund, but you have to do it thru Travelocity And then Travelocity says they follow the airlines guidelines but they don't have the capability to process refunds or the airlines had different rules then. It's complete bs and I've been bounces around with the blame game wasting countless hours and lost hundreds of dollars
I ordered a car paid through Travelocity. The company was closed and the car not available and Travelocity refused to give me a refund. I will NEVER use this again. Nor expedia, their parent company.
Don't buy the $120 car rental insurance. It's a non-refundable option. We reserved a vehicle online through Travelocity and bought the extra coverage. When we went to pick up the vehicle the rental company didn't have what we needed so we had to cancel our reservation and they wouldn't return our $120 insurance deposit. It's a very bad policy and another scam put on by big business to take from the hard working people of this country.
We booked a room for the weekend and we were cancelled the night before due to hurricane by the hotel but since it was after the cancellation hour we were denied a refund. We in no way wanted to cancel our reservation but the hotel was closed and yet Travelocity still kept our payment. Will never book with them again!
Used Travelocity only because a friend recommended them to me. Will NEVER use again.
Bought two flights with them. Needed to cancel and hoped to get a voucher. Ended up calling and talking to three separate travel agents over the course of about three months. Here's what happened:
Life happens, needed to cancel flights. Called Travelocity agent. Told me I would get vouchers for both flights.
A month later, I call Travelocity again, hoping to redeem my vouchers. They tell me first agent was wrong! I don't get vouchers. After speaking with manager, they decide to give me the vouchers since first travel agent misinformed me, but the voucher would only be for one flight. I decide not to use the voucher at this time and they make notes in my file that I get a voucher!
Call third agent about two months later. She informs me that agents one, two, and their manager were all wrong! And that she can't give me a voucher. I ask for her manager. She has me on hold for 30 minutes and then tells me her manager will call me back within an hour. I NEVER received a call back.
Travelocity is TERRIBLE. Never buy tickets from a 'middle-man' like them. Buy directly from the airlines themselves. I would leave zero stars if I could. Awful company.
Atrocious customer service and complete unwillingness to assist. Covid-19 lockdown resulted in an inability to travel and have been waiting over 6 weeks for my refund. They say they have been unable to contact the hotel, however the hotel dispute and have in fact emailed direct, with me included as a CC. The refund policy states 24 hours for a Covid refund, however this is clearly a blatant falsehood.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Travelocity is a scam, they sell one thing and the companies deliver something different and they don't care. All our American airlines flights were changed despite booking months in advance. We booked a car rental through Travelocity using Easirent in Tampa Florida, we payed insurance and set up a pickup time using Travelocity and Easirent charged us again for insurance and we had to wait 1.5 hours for our rental car pickup. We booked a bay view hotel through Travelocity for the Hilton resort and Spa in Clearwater Florida based upon pictures of rooms from the website only to receive a parking lot view with only a tiny view of the ocean. We called Travelocity to complain and they did nothing to help.
Their customer service and policies do not connect. Travelocity is a terrible company to work with they have no human contact and their automated system doesn't work. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TRAVELOCITY.
Planned a trip and made reservation months ahead of, had to cancel and Travelocity said no refund but the hotel had a no cancellation fee. I'm being ripped of by Travelocity for $700+. I've talked to multiple agent and got no response from most of was told hotel did not do refunds.
I booked a flight to Bozeman through Travelocity with a layover in Chicago. About two weeks later they canceled that flight. I was rebooked to Philadelphia. That's it! No connection to Bozeman. I called Travelocity three times and sat on hold for over an hour each time. I opted to have a call back from them only to get no call. The WORST service ever. Don't know how I'm going to get to Bizeman now. Or get my money back.
Do NOT book with this company, it's a scam! I've purchased a flights from them with the flight protection to find out that not only I'm not going to receive a refund ( $2700) but they are not going to issue a credit either! I can't fly because of the Coronavirus restrictions! This is after being on hold for 4 - 7 hours every day, using their messenger on FB and virtual assistant! They stole $2700, they are CRIMINALS!
Answer: They tell you that you can use the credit within 12 months. When you try to book the flight, there is no way to apply the credit yourself, so you have to speak with a rep to do it. They place you on hold for hours! When you finally do speak with someone who can help you, you are told there is a re-booking fee added to be able to use the credit, making it cost more than if you just purchase a new ticket without adding the "credit"! Bottom line is that they say there is no penalty and that you get the credit, but you do not. They are liars and unethical, at best.
Answer: Bridgett, It is simply because this company has terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE customer service! It seems like the people who gave positive reviews have not had to make any changes in their arrangements--if they needed to change something, I believe their experience would have been negative. Who wants to do business with a company that is only a fair weather friend? Not me! This was by far the WORST experience I have had in dealing with a company. I will never use them again and I tell everyone I can to avoid them.
Answer: I don't know that. All I know is that I will not use them ever. They basically let me go after I had payed for the tickets. They are not an honest company. Good luck I hope you find your answers.
Answer: I totally disagree, you will never understand if you don't like to understand. If you try tonipen your ears and listen carefully without so much objections in mind, i bet you will understand. If you are a frequent flyer, you will know that these travel agencies has no control of the policies of the tickets, as they are implemented by airlines. And when you book a trip online, either from travel agencies or airlines websites, you will be informed of the policies. I bet you know how to read and understands simple english word, like non refundable right?
