Not worth the effort. It used to be a convenient service but now they charge you fees at every turn. They beg your for items then arbitrarily price your items (not fairly) and charge random fees - netting almost zero dollars for your items and time. Asking for my items back would yield a massive loss so I'm stuck with them until my last items sell. Use the other websites such as bag borrow steal.
It was pretty okay! I just wish the return process could be a little easier, faster and cheaper for international customers. However, it must be said that all correspondence with customer service was very polite and helpful.
I have been waiting on a dress for A MONTH now, I have reached out to customer support and still no update on my dress (Its been over 3 days). I'm not to sure what is going on in the warehouse for this company, but its been one order after the other. Something always goes wrong with my delivery. The only thing that keeps me here are the actual products themselves. I'm very disappointed in the way shipping and delivery is handles for the amount of money we are paying for items... this is not okay.
Despite responding with all requested shipping information, customer service decided to just refund my purchase instead of sending it to me. I'm still waiting on any refund, and haven't received my order.
Description can be vague and not always accurate. Don't like to wonder why "moderate" wear means. Also, ALL of the imperfections should photographed. Care instructions should be included for all applicable items.
The quality of the product is amazing. My Vera Wang dress looked amazing on me - arrived early enough that "if" I had a problem with fit, indeed I could do something about it. The dress quality was excellent. I'm wondering why would I ever buy a designer brand new! I am excited and look forward to purchasing from the Real Real in the future!

I purchased two bags over a week ago, one of which was sent and already delivered. The other bag, which i was already charged for in full has not even been shipped yet. I reached out to their customer service 3 days ago asking for an update for which they told me that they needed to get in touch with their warehouse and I would be updated within 48 hours. Still no update, I've reached out to them 3 more times and have yet to get a response from them. I've asked for a refund and to cancel the order and still nothing. I had to call my credit card company to open a dispute since they clearly lack in customer service. You should have never charged me in full for that large amount of money without having sent the item in question.
The Real Real took my items. My wife died and I thought it would be good to sell her purses. Many of them we bought overseas on vacations and spent a lot of money. They said they were unable to authenticate so because i complained they sent back the least expensive items keeping the expensive stuff for themselves. Telling me i need a receipt to get them back. They are mine not theirs. Scam Artist! Stay far away from them. They are evil...
The Real Real has a fantastic range but their quality control is terrible. Items more often than not arrive and are either not as described (wrong size/ colour etc) or in a poor condition compared to what they are advertised as. The customer service is very good - they promptly reply and help you return the item which is great but the whole process takes ages and is frustrating when you've needed an item for an event or trip.
I have been working with Alex for the last 3 weeks trying to purchase an item ( where so many issues occurred)she has been great! Always ready to help really professional, really patient with all my questions, she was always available when I called and returned my calls if I left a message on her days off. She is an amazing person, your company is very fortunate to have such a great employee to represent and work with you.

Terrible experience. I ordered sunglasses and they were not in the box that shipped to me. Customer service said he had to raise to his manager but no response after over a week despite reminders. I like the idea of the site but will delete the app if they can't resolve soon.
This is my go to place for shoes. I wear 11 or 11.5 depending on the shoe and i can always find a style I like. If it doesn't fit, returns are a no hassle. I do find chanel clothes not true to the measurements and I have had to return some of those items. Customer service is great as well.
Received my purchase, earlier than expected, it exceeded my expectations. The bag is in great condition, doesn't look as if it has been used., it also came with a dust bag and box., I have ordered several items from this site have never been disappointed.
I contacted TheRealReal about an issue and got an automated response. I responded that it did not address my issue, but then never heard back. Instead I keep getting multiple requests to rate my customer service experience. It's getting a bit bizarre at this point
Had to wait at least 25 minutes to speak to a representative in customer service. She was very gracious and listened carefully to me ~~~ both that thee packaging can be assembled better, that UPS is reckless with boxes Etc but thee end result was beyond my expectations ~~~ the real Real has excellent customer service! The quality of your selection, website, filters, prices, range is just sensational. Living all the way here in Australia, I would like to have a cheaper postage option. I honestly don't mind waiting an extra week or two if it means a cheaper postage. I find $75 for postage to be prohibitive. That's an extra item I can't buy! So I would like you to explore cheaper alternatives for international shipping. Also, your customer service is non-existent. These are the two weak links in an otherwise strong chain.
My last order arrived in a timely manner. All items were beautiful, except one item that was not described truthfully. A Carolina Herrera linen top was missing a belt. This was obvious as there were two holes in the side seams were the belt should have been.
My previous orders have been great. The only exception is that they all came separately, and the charges that UPS apply on top of the government duties are suspect.
I would be more inclined to order if the duties were included.

Ordered final sale item, received not as described. First rep offered $10 site credit, assuring me it had been applied to my account. Days later, I went to make purchase and it was not there. Had to email AGAIN before finally receiving the promised credit.
I received 48% of the listing price. They sold my boots at a discount after being on the site for a few days. They said this improves sales, but it's not like they were sitting there for months before they sold - They are Rag & Bone boots that would have sold anyway.
Seems like a stupid business decision on their part, and infuriating for me because the boots were priced so low to begin with. When asked, they claimed they priced high to make up for it, but they were listed $120 cheaper on The Real Real versus eBay... so I'm not sure what that's about. I should have just sold them myself. Huge rip off.
Also they sent back a Burberry coat for having a tear, and it took a month to get it back. Just a terrible company.
I find beautiful designer goods that are usually up to par, there have been a few times where I have received items with holes or shoes with minor dirt on them (but nothing major or gross). The customer service is pretty good, however, I do not like the charges that they take out for returns, that is a bit unsettling. Other than that, I give a thumbs up for this site, they have done a lot better at advertising flaws than they have in the past!
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
