Swappa

I purchased a nexus 4 on Swappa as a replacement for my previous budget device (a $20 Moto E from Wal-Mart). The first phone I bought was defective (missing touch on the right cm of screen). Both the seller and Swappa staff couldn't have been more courteous. Swappa staff walked me and the seller through the return and refund process via an open chat discussion.

My second time around, I purchased yet another nexus 4 from a different seller, for the same price. The second nexus 4 is flawless, and works perfectly (it even came with some cool accessories).

I've never sold on Swappa before, but if it's anything like buying on Swappa, I'm in!

First time buying a used phone online and was pleased how easy Swappa made the communication and transaction. All questions posed to the seller were visible to potential buyers and Swappa makes sellers meet a minimum level of completeness (different angle pictures of the phone, checking the IMEI, etc) before they are allowed to list their phone. Their policies made me feel confident that if I received a phone and it wasn't as described they would have my back and help make things right. Thankfully, the phone I purchased was great, so I recommend you check out Swappa if you need to buy or sell a phone!

My recommendation to the Swappa team is to increase the number of filters available to potential buyers. I can sort by carrier and operating system, but beyond that there is no ability to filter on phone manufacturer, model, or (most importantly) price.

I got a gently used Asus Zenwatch 2 from a seller on Swappa. I felt safer buying from there than ebay or amazon because they require photos, descriptions, and look over listings before they're posted. I feel like sellers are also less likely to get screwed over with swappa than other sites as well because they provide documentation of the condition of what they're selling as well. My transaction went smoothly and quickly and I'm now a happy zenwatch 2 owner!

I've bought my last three cell phones on swappa. Before that I bought nearly every cell phone on ebay. The experience on swappa is great: the whole site is geared for this particular kind of sale:

1) It's very easy to tell what you're bidding on. There aren't the "fine print" tricks around non-working cell phones, Chinese knock-offs or other scams. They insist on a photo.

2) Communication with the seller is easier.

3) The Swappa site staff are conscientious in following up on every issue.

Swappa is my go-to site for all used cell phone purchases.

A co worker told me about Swappa while I was tossing around the idea of a new phone, though I didn't need one desperately, just yet. I bought a new phone with a contract, but didn't like it the way I love my droid mini. A couple of weeks later my droid took a dive from all the abuse I've put it through. Now desperate, I searched on Swappa but was a little late in buying one I saw that matched what I wanted, so I set up an alert to notify me when another was available. Within 48 hrs, I was notified of several, picked one, paid the low price, and less than 48 hours after that I was actually using it! I love it when a plan comes together!

I have used them 2 times. On both occasions I received a defective phone that was advertised in good condition and in all working order. This last time I requested that a comparable phone be sent out to me before I return the one I have with the busted camera. This way I wouldn't have to go without a phone throughout the process. The seller (savegadget) said no. I wish they would increase their quality testing on these phones, or at the very least, take care of the customer when they send out junk. Ended up giving back market.com my business. Won't be back.
