I was really skeptical about buying a used phone online. I did some research and ascertained that swappa is generally a safer place to buy then eBay or God forbid Craigslist. I made sure to go with a seller who was responsive and had already had reviews. Got a great deal on a good phone I was really got to call about buying a used phone online I did some research and ascertain that swapping is generally a safer place to buy them eBay or God forbid Craigslist I made sure to go with a seller who was responsive and had already had good reviews. Got a great deal on a good phone, and am almost 100% that this is the way I'll buy phones in the future.
I've bought several phones on swappa and never had a problem. The last phone I bought I was able to get for less than what the carrier wanted with no contract with a brand new phone, it just makes sense.
Dropped my iphone in the water and it died... swappa found me a great replacement phone from a wonderful verified seller. Nice being able to shop, get a great deal, and not be worried about being ripped off... thanks Swappa!
This is my second purchase through Swappa. I have a lot of confidence in how the guys / gals at Swappa run their site. You get the feeling that folks are on top of their game. For me, Swappa is the only place I will buy a used phone from.
I've been fine on Swappa for quite a while now one of the best place to buy a cell phone whether it's mint condition or just a phone on an emergency its just simply really nice and people are great there the fees are literally nothing thank you swappa
I used this site once to order a used phone. I received the item promptly and in great condition, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I misunderstood 1 thing so I emailed their contact page for help, they back to me quickly (I'd say within an hour) and got me back on track to complete my order. Positive experience all around, would use again.
I have purchased five phones for my family in last couple of years. This site always has a vast inventory, priced to sell. Since we are grandfathered in our unlimited data plan, we have to buy phones ourselves. Swappa has never let me down. Highly recommend.
I ordered on 2/23/16 and rec'd the iPhone 4 on 2/27/16. That's 4 business days later.
The phone is not in mint (which means uncirculated) condition as the seller has indicated but I would say it is in very good condition. Not a scratch anywhere on the body. Just some slight rubbing on the sides but the front and back are nearly pristine.
I have not yet activated w/ the carrier of my choice but carrier does indicate online that the ESN is clear, free, and ready to activate.
I would buy from Swappa user Hugo A. Again.
It could not have been better, joined, and a few days later got a mint condition phone for about 1/2 price compared to the cell provider. It was indeed in mint condition and works great. Activated and enjoying it. The manager at the Sprint wanted to know where I got it, thought it was brand new. I told him and he never heard of Swappa but went to the site while I was there and was very interested.
Thanks Swappa
Needed a new phone fast. Found exactly what I wanted on in about 5 seconds on Swappa. The seller was professional and prompt. İt took about 6 days from payment to having the phone in my hand. Would have been about 3 days sooner if it weren't for Christmas and a weekend. I've used Swappa three times and have been very impressed with their quality control, buyer-seller interface and the whole sale process. I saved $100 on the new Google pixel 2 and got it on perfect condition. 10/10 for Swappa. Thanks!
I've purchased two phones from Swappa, and had a great experience with both purchases. I found both sellers I bought from to be honest, trustworthy, and very helpful. In both cases, the phones arrived quickly and were in great condition, as was described in the listings. I actually had a hardware issue with one phone shortly after purchasing (no fault of the seller's, it was a Nexus 5X, which many people have reported boot loop issues with), and the seller worked with me to provide relevant information about the original purchase and warranty. With his help, I was able to get a new replacement phone from Google at no cost. I'd highly recommend Swappa to anyone who is interested in purchasing a used phone.
I got exactly what I ordered in a timely manner. The posted photos were an accurate representation of the product, and the product was as described by the seller. The item was shipped the day after I verified my address. The item then arrived just two days later. Overall a very positive experience. I'd say an even better experience than eBay!
I have had a total of 13 transactions (as buyer and seller) and have always had a great experience! I tell people all the time to look on Swappa if they are in need of a phone (or tablet, computer, etc). I just hope they don't "get too big" and start charging more for transactions. Keep up the great work Swappa!
My husband wanted to pay full price in store for a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6, $600. I found it on Swappa, mint condition, $294. Ordered it, and received it 2 days later! Item was as described, and I saved $300! Extremely satisfied, and always highly recommend SWAPPA to my friends!
I recently discovered Swappa and started selling some items there.
They have a support team that works 24/7 and make sure everything you post there is legitimate and exactly what you said it was.
They go thru the pictures to make sure you didn't add any sensitive information about your devices.
All chats are public on there which in some ways is good but it also has it down sides. I assume it is their business model and I respect that.
The only downside about public chats is that someone competitors(sellers) can come and encourage you to lower the price of your item as if they wanted to buy it and when you do it. They don't buy it and everyone else trying to buy won't pay more than what is public.
If you ever want to buy any electronic device, check on Swappa first.
You won't be disappointed.
1st time buyer in Swappa. Both the Swappa site and the seller were awesome. Bought a mint condition Pixel 3 XL and received just that. Bought Tuesday night, received the phone Friday afternoon. Will but from again in the future.
Swappa is a orderly yet easy process for making some money off of older electronics. Whoever at Swappa did the process design thought of all the little things to make sure that users feel the process both protects their interests as well as the other partys. Best of all, I never felt weighed down or burdened by the steps.
Good job, team.
Swappa protects it's sellers not buyers. I purchased an iPhone from Swappa, a site that is supposed to be a "safe" place to purchase used devices. I was unable to activate the phone I received and the seller did not resolve the issue. Swappa asked the seller to resolve the matter, and when he did not Swappa asked me to send the iPhone back to the seller and once received the seller would process a refund. This is the same seller/person who fraudulently sold me an iPhone that could not be activated. I have filed a claim with PayPal and I am still awaiting a refund.
I got my phones in a few days. They were packed really well. I wish the chargers were included or just had the phones charged enough for me to explore and make sure that my phone was operating well. Feedback from the seller was fast for me as well. Would purchase through Swappa again.
This site is very easy to use and their support team is insanely fast at helping resolve discrepancies and even staying on MY case to make sure I gave a review when I received my product. I was impressed by their prompt customer service and professionalism. Will definitely use this site in the future.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
Swappa has a rating of 3.6 stars from 3,176 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Swappa most frequently mention great experience, new phone and mint condition. Swappa ranks 5th among Marketplace sites.
Hi Joe, in uncommon cases like this, you are eligible for a full refund. We partner with PayPal for this reason - to protect our buyers and our sellers. Sometimes this process can take time, and our support team is there to help you with every step along the way.
