I overall had a great experience selling on Swappa. Customer support was excellent and very prompt with emails, and I was easily able to communicate with my buyer. I wish there were shipping options within the site like eBay has, instead of me having to ship through PayPal instead. Otherwise, excellent site and I love that they have less seller fees than eBay.
Swappa is designed to instill confidence, and the prices are better than what you'll find on Ebay or Amazon, so why risk getting a blacklisted or damaged phone from those places when you can safely buy a phone vetted by Swappa? The process of buying, selling, and communicating is clear and easy, so transactions are fast and without hassle. Highly recommend using Swappa!
They have a lot of regular sellers there so as long as you are a little careful I'm sure you'll have a fine experience there. Don't go looking for a dirt cheap deal- do your homework, find out what the phone you want is worth on the aftermarket, and choose a reputable dealer. There are guys on there that sell constantly. I got a pristine Samsung S7 for a couple hundred dollars off of new.
After all still not certain when or how my product will arrive as everything seems to be in limbo as the language indicated not to mark the sale complete until delivered. The sale receipt did not indicate any shipping info so I marked it complete even without product in hand = "Delivered"? You said You got paid ok.
Waiting to see whats next.
Seller did fantastic job of mailing quickly. Going thru PayPal was seamless. Swappa does a great job of sorting and listing the myriad of sellers and items. It is with a small bit of trepidation that we poise our finger over the "enter" button trying to decide whether to send our money out into the unknown, thankfully there are brokers like Amazon and Swappa to lessen the risk.
I paid $355 for a black s6 edge. The company then emailed me stating they have sold out of phone and sent me a gold one. From order to delivery date was way too long and paying for something that I did not order upfront was nerve wrecking.
This was my first transaction with Swappa and it went super smooth. Seller had good communication, answered all my questions without hesitation. I felt at ease buying a new to me phone. If I was in the market again for a new phone, I'd definitely look on Swappa
I purchased my first phone using Swappa. It was a Samsung S7 edge. I received a phone in mint condition for hundreds under what Verizon would have charged me. Item arrived as described, seller shipped fast, and I saved money. Will definitely buy my next phone on Swappa.
Avoid using this site at all cost. The marketplace is not what it use to be where swappa employees actually monitored the marketplace and listings. Swappa employees will verify anyone and any listing because they it a cut of the commission on every sale. They don't care if you get a product or not. I have attempted to purchase an item and it never shipped, because the seller is a fraud. Customer service states go complain to PayPal to get your money back. The website use to be good when it was smaller and more manageable but now its filled with a bunch of scams. Avoid and go to eBay to purchase products.
I bought many phones on swappa and never had troubles. I was however a bit hesitant about buying Samsung because of all the clones going around. I was burned once before on ebay. Needless to say this transaction went just as they all should and I was confident swappa would have been a good intermediary in case something went sour.
Buyer received my LG V10 on 4/10/17(USPS Tracking), and didn't report the status of the phone upon receiving. 13 days later on 4/23/17 he reports he was using the phone and now it quit working. Swappa requires me to refund the money and receive back the broken phone that I'm sure nothing happened to in almost 2 weeks in the buyers possession. Still currently in this wonderful process! Thanks Swappa!
My purchase experience from Swappa was perfect. Clear and thorough descriptions, a history of similar products and sales, reviews of sellers, help on the purchase, security screening and good management gave me the confidence to expect no trouble. I would return to this site to buy or sell a used phone and will recommend it to others.
There are many options on handling an online transaction with a private seller. However, Swappa makes the buying/selling experience much more secure. The moderators ensure that the photos fit their criteria and I am grateful for that. I recommend Swappa to all my friends that are looking to sell or purchased their next tablet/phone.
Swappa does the leg work for you! Their quality control requirements and guarantees made me feel comfortable and safe. My merchandise was received in a timely manner, the seller was easy to deal with and responded very quickly to questions I had. I will use Swappa again and have already recommended it to friends!
Awesome experience on Swappa, Excellent seller item better then described, I would purchase from this seller again... Swappa has the best devices you won't be disappointed great prices, excellent customer care another satisfied buyer from swappa.com
To date I have purchased 4 phones from Swappa and every experience has been positive. Each item arrived in condition that was stated by the seller and the prices have always been reasonable for my purchase.
Got myself an iPhone X for a good price. Very nice community on there willing to answer your questions and there are always listings for a phone/tablet/laptop you might want. Would highly recommend buying from there!
Hi Mohamed, thanks for using Swappa!
I purchased a used iPhone from a stranger who was located in the opposite end of the country. I was reasonably confident that should the seller try to deceive me, the process Swappa has in place would protect me. As it turned out, the item was exactly as described by the seller. I've purchased three used phones from strangers using Swappa, and each time the phone has been exactly as described.
I was looking for a new phone, did my research and figured that I could get a used one cheaper to fit my needs. I looked for the best condition one on swappa and bam 2 days later its here and works great. 10$ fee between seller and buyer apparently. So $10 to save me craigslist troubles.
I have purchased about 5 phones from Swappa already and all transactions were smooth. People are very cooperative and are willing to communicate with you. It is really the best site to buy new/used phones online.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
Swappa has a rating of 3.6 stars from 3,176 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Swappa most frequently mention great experience, new phone and mint condition. Swappa ranks 5th among Marketplace sites.
At Swappa, we review ALL listings carefully to make sure no broken or "junk devices" are sold in our marketplace. Everything from requiring verification photos from our sellers, performing ESN checks to ensure devices aren’t carrier blacklisted, as well as providing a seller’s full sales history. We use PayPal to protect our buyers and sellers in the small chance that something goes wrong - and it sounds like you got your money back via PayPal which is exactly why we use it.
