Swap.com has friendly personnel, timely correspondence, and lots of nice clothes at affordable prices. I buy and sell and typically check the site daily!
Great items an awesome amount of variety and great prices on name brand merchandise. I couldn't be happier andI am a customer for life! Thanks swap.com!
You have been warned... this site is a total scam! I've sold many items in last few months yet my balance is still at 0.00. Wtf? Class action lawsuit please!
Jen@ Swap.com, SHE FORGOT, HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY GAVE MY $$$ TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER AND WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK IT UP... KEPT MY CLOTHES FOR SALE AND SENT ME LESS THAN 2.00. AND STILL PUT IT IN SOMEONE ELSES ACCOUNT... LOW DOWN AND DIRTY PEOPLE... YVONNE SUKS THE WORST, BUT JEN IS DELUSIONAL!
I was thinking about sending some brand new items to swap. At the time the website said that after a period of time they would buy unsold items from you at 30% of retail. I sent an email asking for more details and was told that they only pay $7 max. I felt like this was deceptive on their part. Why didn't they state this figure directly?
I did end up sending in two boxes, but most of what I sold were cheap used clothes. They did accept a blazer but reject the matching dress (the reason given made it clear they did not realize it was a set). I also had a brand new Trina Turk skirt which they listed as like new (without tags). I made some money, so I can't complain, but I have since decided to stop selling because of a complete overhaul of their system.
First, they will be using their very own special heavily researched practically perfect algorithm to price your items. I am sorry, but no system can consider all the variables. I have seen pricing guidelines on other sites and they are wildly inaccurate. I could understand if they wanted to price your items after a month or two. But right up front?
Also, they are now adding a surcharge to your shipping label cost if they reject 40% or more of your items. Given the potential shipping surcharge, and the fact that they now price items for you, I would probably end up owing money to swap! In my opinion it is not worth the risk. I will just donate to charity!
I've been a customer for a few years. My negative experiences involved receiving filthy, smelly sneakers and buying a pair of primo Nike running shoes with a 1" hunk of canvas missing from top of the shoe (not shown in ad so I didn't know). Swap customer service agents were good about my returns - only negative was it took too long for the refund. Once I emailed them, they refunded it to my cc. Another disappointment was a black women's cardigan and when I received it, it was a stretched out, enormous mess. I returned it with no problem. The biggest problem I see is clothing is mislabeled. For example, I was looking at rompers, liked the price of one but the photo was of cute ripped jeans. If I buy the "romper," will I receive the jeans? The multiple shoes I've bought- with exception mentioned above - have been incredible! My suggestion would be to include more photos of clothes/shoes labeled "fair" or "good" condition.
Overall, my experience with Swap has been good and I completely understand others' frustration! I can see the changes they've put in place and yes, they have problems which could be resolved with attentive management who are ultimately responsible for a company's success or failure.
I've been ordering clothing for a couple of years and overall this company provides nice gently used clothing items and shoes. For the past few months, the deliveries have been delayed and it takes a couple of weeks to get the items through their FED-EX smart post. At the beginning of June, I ordered two items for a vacation (a light jacket and a bathing suit) The items never arrived, but FED-EX showed them as delivered to my house. I was here waiting for the delivery, and we have cameras. NO DELIVERY. It took 2 months and several telephone calls for Swap.com to Credit my account for the items. Fed-Ex smart post provides terrible service... it seems everyone else these days provides photographic proof of delivery. Swap.com follow-up was terrible. The service is going downhill fast. If you have extra time and money go ahead and order from here... but don't be surprised if they send you the wrong item and it takes two weeks to get the package. They do not refund money even if they send the wrong item, they just credit your account. Funny how return shipping only takes about 4 days!
Hello,
We sincerely apologize you have recently had difficulty in receiving your orders. We apologize for the delay in receiving the trace results from the carrier on this order.
Our goal is to make shopping easy, and we apologize you never received the order.
Regarding our return policy, we provide store credit or credit back to the original form of payment based on the reason for return. I've included a link to our return policy here for review:

Again, we apologize for any delays and frustrations.
Sincerely,
Jen -Swap.com
Received email May 12,2022 to expect refund in 10 business days. June 8th, STILL NO CREDIT AVAILABLE after contacting support! Time frame to receive credit back on returns is ridiculous! I just want to use up my credit and be done with this company, never to return.
At first, I found swap.com a good value and easy to use. Free shipping and returns with a refund back to your original payment method. All good EXCEPT they often "lost" returned items and/or just failed to issue the refunds. If you don't watch them like a hawk, they steal your money. Also, on April 28,2016 they secretly changed their terms (in the fine print buried in their website with no notification sent to their existing clients) such that instead of refunding to your original payment method they only offer store credit unless they were at fault (sent you the wrong item or item was inaccurately listed). This enabled them to capture and hold their customers' money instead of refunding it. In my case, this added up to more than $600 as I tended to place an order every week or two before I found out what they were doing. When I asked them to refund they wouldn't. Honestly, I think this is a class action lawsuit kind of a situation. In the meantime, I would say avoid this creepy company.
I send them a lot of boxes. Although the cheapest clothes they put on sale, the rest of the clothes they steal from me. Shipping to them, plus return guarantees is expensive. The only thing they pay is 20% of sales or so. In other words, consignors are the people who pay Swap's costs for Swap's operation. In contrast, there is no way for a consignor who also covers the cost of shipping, etc. make a profit. Or just as you give away your product for free, plus you pay for its shipping. So, when I realized this myself, I sent them the most valuable clothing as well to see if I could fix the problem I found by signing up to sell with them. Mostly winter jackets with tags, a few hundred dollars the leather Harley-Davidson jacket, and boots were stolen inside of Swap. All of this was bought legally and was intended for my children's father, who never received these clothes because he was shipped off to wartime Africa and was missing in action for two decades. Now, after a long time, I want to sell his clothes as I only have one income and no penny from him being exploited elsewhere. I have no family or friends as I myself ended up in the US "unplanned". So if you get my message, what do people who really don't belong here go through because of people like in Swap? Your business hinges on outsmarting others. Swap ruined my life. They are thieves, rude, and disrespect me because of the thieving nature of some of their employees. Also, any complaint you make means little because the law is on their side. Because such monopolies want high expectations from them and don't care about the victims if it was something wrong with us, or other flaws in the laws. Therefore, they sweep victims under the rug, especially with last names like mine.
I am very satisfied with swap.com. Sizes were exact, clothes were in perfect condition. Ordering was easy and delivery was prompt. I will recommend this site to my friends.
I recently purchased several items for my granddaughter. I was skeptical, but thought what the heck, when the clothing items arrived they were like new. This place rocks. :)
swap.com has been wonderful. They have always deliver everything on time. And the quality of service has been great. Its wonderful to know that still companies like this around.
I have ordered from Swap now about five times. We just moved to a rural area that is a summer hotspot for tourists. This means few consignment stores and the kids clothing stores we do have are high end and overpriced. I prefer shopping thrift and consignment, so I started looking around online and found Swap. It's worked fabulous for my family of five. Usually, I order a size up for my kids' clothes to plan for slight shrinkage from the previous user. The clothing shows up as represented. Prices are awesome. I love the option to order $50 and get free shipping: totally worth it! We look forward to our box of clothes which comes quickly, all neatly stored in individual plastic casings. Our clothing budget goes a lot farther by using Swap and I have found fun unique items for myself, my husband and my three kiddos. I've started recommending it online because whenever I find something that works awesome for me, I like to share about it with others. It's even fun together time on the computer when we "Go Shopping" because my kids and I will sit down together to pick out their clothes. I love it. Department stores have lost me forever. :) Keep on being awesome, Swap.
Recently made my first purchase. When it arrived I hade the excitement of not knowing what to expect. Well, it was all better than I expected. Perfect fit and looks new. I am beyond happy!
I used to love this site. It was helpful and reliable. But after my current and ongoing experience, I don't see anything that would make me use or recommend them again. I purchased a number of items in April and had them sent to storage. I was able to ship some to me after they moved in June, putting all shipping on hold for a month at the height of Covid. There were still 5 items that were listed as unavailable. I was told it would take another 30-45 days for those to be available. I waited that time and then checked again in the beginning of October (more than 6 months from my initial purchase when my card was charged" to see if they were able to be shipped and now there is only 1 thing in there. They tell me they are working to "expand capabilities" and the items will not show up "temporarily." That was 2 weeks ago and no one has since reached out to me, No one has offered a refund for my inconvenience let alone to cover the cost for shipping. I am shocked that this company thinks it is acceptable to treat customers like this.
I have 26 high quality items (they passed their stringent acceptance rules, which seem to only apply when you sell items but not when you buy them!) This includes jeans, button up shirts, maybe NWT. They're "generously" offering me $10.71 credit for ALL 26 items! Or I can donate them, or I can have them shipped back to me for $23? Absolutely ridiculous, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH!
I bought LL Bean, Croft & Barrow, Merona, Van Heusen, Covington, Club Room, Eddie Bauer, and MMA Elite. They were better condition than I even thought. My husband is happy with his polo shirts and I am happy with getting a good deal.
Thanks, Swap.com!
I wasn't sure what to expect purchasing from Swap.Com for my first time. I was pleasantly surprised that everything came packed well & the clothes all looked brand new. Will order again for sure.
Ok Swap is changing things again. I have been getting a small check the first week of the month from swap, well I've gotten two and now I get an email that says my payout has been turned into a bill and will be submitted for approval. I have no idea what that means. This is a new thing and the email didn't even come from swap. They are outsourcing their payout is all I can figure out. My account says I have a payout coming of $97 for the last month. I am curious as to what I'll actually get as I'm sure that is before all their fees. My last box I sent in had %57 rejection so I will be penalized for that. I also had my last rejections sent back to me and promptly listed them on ebay and poshmark and several have sold. There was nothing wrong with any of them that I could see. Anyway, don't bother with swap. I just started with poshmark. It's far easier than ebay to list. I don't think I'll ever make a 6 figure income like a lot of youtubbers claim but it is worth my (and your) time. Swap is a total waste of time for reselling. Shoppers probably do ok.
Hello Sharon,
We sincerely apologize for any recent frustrations you've had. Regarding our payout, we have always utilized a third party for payouts. Originally we utilized PayPal to process our payouts, but a little over a year ago we started using Bill.com. To get set up on Bill.com, you will receive an email asking you to set up your payout method. Your payouts can be set up with Bill.com to be an electronic payout to your desired bank account, or it can be a check mailed to you. If you would rather have store credit as your method of payment for items set, that is an option as well.
Anytime a box is sent in, we will deduct the inbound fee from your sales proceeds. This allows you to not have to pay up front to send items in. As we review items for acceptance, we closely follow our Acceptance Criteria to ensure we place the best items on our site for our sellers.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and if you would still like to sell with us, our customer service team would provide you any support and guidance as you pack your box. Our team can be reached at assistance@swap.com or 630-296-0146.
Sincerely,
Jen - Swap.com
I read all the reviews and the comments on a fb page but sent in boxes anyway. I got zero out of the first box because they said I owed for past labels. I sent in another box and received $12 for 32 items. I sent in a couple more before I saw what I got out of the second one. That was dumb as they rejected most of the third and still waiting to see on the fourth. I will have to say that they processed my boxes immediately which NEVER happens. Makes me wonder if anyone is sending anything in. I'm done. I've sold on here too since the beginning. They had a ton of inventory that wasn't selling, I get that so said nothing when i got a few pennies for 300 items. I don't know if what other sellers are saying is true or not, that they are criminals. All I know is I gave them a chance and it's not worth the trouble.
Answer: I have only placed one order so far. I ordered 10 blouses. I returned 5, due to size issues. All 10 blouses were nice, but 5 did not fit quite right due to different manufacturer's. You need to get an RMA # for returns. I was promptly refunded my money for the 5 blouses. I would order again in the future. I am not aware of any return quantity restrictions. Hope this helps.
Answer: If you want to sell clothes, all the information is on their website. Basically, they get a percentage and then they pay you thru an existing PayPal account that you set up.
Answer: Hi Patricia, We are on about a 55-60 day delay in processing inbound shipments. When your items are processed, you will be notified via email that they are ready to be priced. Have you sent an email to our support team at assistance@swap.com yet? A member of our team can look up your account information and give you a better idea of exact when you can expect to see your items. Thank you, Lauren Swap.com Support Manager
Answer: Same here, I sent a box in June and have received nothing nothing saying it was accepted or rejected absolutely nothing. I've sent 5 emails and nothing. I will be contacting the better business bureau as well.
Answer: I don't think so. I've sold and from my experience it varies. The things that I thought would sell first, haven't sold yet. It varies by what people are looking for at the time. I've bought all different seasons at random times. I buy by what's a great deal. When selling, group like items together. I've noticed multiple things sell first.
Answer: Hi Jo, That is correct. You can return items that do not fit as long as you request the return within 30 days. We will send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label to send back your return free of charge. Once the return is received, we will refund your card within five (5) business days. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at assistance@swap.com. We are happy to help! Best, Matt
Answer: There's no way for them to go over prices. They have to see the items and determine from going over it, if it's acceptable, once it's accepted, then you have to determine the price you want to sell it for. You could try searching on their site for similar items and see what they are priced at. I did notice when pricing my items that I'd get a little notice with recommended prices, which was very helpful. I didn't have a good experience selling but many others have. Make sure you take pictures of your items, that's very important. I appreciated that their site is set up to allow you to take back your items if you changed your mind about selling them. I'm in the process of getting back my items. Hopefully it works out well and I get all my items back.

Hello Denise,
We would love to review your account and provide you specific details. When you order a label, there is an $11.90 fee, and it is $14.90 if you order a label and box. These fees are deducted from your sales proceeds, and once the fees are paid off, then you begin to make money. Please contact our customer service team so we may further review your account specifics. This will allow us to provide you specific details on where you are at with your sales and fees.
