Stitch Fix claims to offer personal styling. You go online and complete a profile which is supposed to help the personal stylist assigned to you pick out the perfect items. I even took the time to attach a Pinterest Style Board with more ideas for her to look at. What you don't know is that these stylists have a quota they have to meet and often just default to what their computer determines for you. Their inventory of items they have is so low they can't give you what you are asking for. This info comes from the many ex-stylists who quit their styling jobs after being frustrated with their whole process. So in the meantime, you either buy items you don't want or like or give up your $20 styling fee for each box. It might not seem like a lot of money, but given the amount of people they are collecting this from it becomes a substantial amount.

Like many, I had high hopes going into this - I was interested in trying things that I might not pick out normally for myself. The clothing that arrived was over-priced and cheaply made, and only two items actually fit. Not worth it - returned everything and took the $20 loss.

Love Stitch Fix.
January 9, 2017

Been getting StitchFix for a year now. Have kept at least one item in each box. If you want cheap this isn't it, it's decent quality, stylish clothes at reasonable prices. I really enjoy getting a box of clothes delivered to my home - it's like Christmas. I have clothes now that I never would have tried on and feel that I am better dressed than I used to be.

Been using for over a year, bimonthly and monthly fixes, often had to return for damaged clothes or shoes coming apart, often you don't wear that item right away and months later when you wear it, you realize the seams are coming apart, or the clothes fade Few pairs of pants that I've had have come apart or had damage. Truly is cheap clothes and very overpriced, they price their clothing 300% over what it actually costs.

I was disappointed to learn that upon returning my box of clothes (all of which were the wrong size), I never got the $20 back.

I was saddened to know that every time you get a box, you're charged $20. You never see that money again. The least they can do is to refund you some, if not all. It doesn't cost $20 to ship back. I would have rather shipped it back on my own dime but to get the $20 initial cost back.

Other services out there are better!

I like many people who have reviewed Stitch Fix wanted it to work. I love the concept. I have given them several shots, redid my profile with specific feedback, and made specific requests. Still, the last box was a strike out. Who knew a pair of white linen pants was such a challenge. I received denim boyfriend shorts instead! I aired my concerns with Customer Service Rep. Jimmie who of course, refused to refund my style fee despite the fact that my request was totally blown off. Then, I was criticized for using the term "ugly" to describe my discontent with items. Sorry Jimmie but a shapeless royal blue cold shoulder tee shirt, and a heavy gauge cotton tank in a pink and brown-gray design are plain unattractive! Better word?

Don't waste your hope and styling fee on this company. They could care if you are satisfied. They are going to dress you in frumpy, over-priced clothes anyway.

Just recieved my first pick and it was almost completely opposite what one would expect based on what I answered to their questions in regards to color, style, and cut. I don't know why I'd pay a stylist to make worse choices than grabbing things randomly from a discount store. The fabrics were nasty high polyester blends that felt and looked cheap and low quality.

They used to send you brands that you would recognize. Problem for them was you can also easily price-check it elsewhere and realize they're charging you often double (or more) for the item. So now it's all their own branded stuff, this way you can't check and figure out you're being fleeced. This stuff is simply overpriced. I have had complete misses in my boxes, and even signed up for their Style Pass. On box 21 now, and they still get things mostly wrong. Charging me $68.50 (weird-price btw) for a t-shirt with a hoodie attached to it is just nuts. I am going to wait out my Style Pass and will not be renewing.

For a company that doesn't have to pay rent for physical locations in expensive commercial areas, the expectation was that they would be price competitive to brick & mortar. How wrong I was...

I have gotten probably 8 + boxes from stitch fix, all have been really bad. At first when I didn't keep anything, I thought I would be refunded the $20. Nope! I basically gave them sooo much money and never kept a single item.

It's frustrating, I never get what I request. I have changed "stylist" numerous times but still the styling and quality of clothes continue to be bad. I also get a box for my husband, which is perfect for him. For women's clothing, this is a bad box.

I highly recommend Nordstrom's Trunk Club, that is a top notch box. Especially since you can preview items and decide if you want your stylist to look for more items.

Well worth trying if you are undecided. The clothing is nice quality, and having someone select items for you is better than shopping with friends! Out of seven boxes so far, I've kept one item from only one box, 2 boxes where all 5 found a new home with me, and the other boxes, range 2-3 items. Al the clothing I've kept have become basic go-to items and are worn all the time. I am enjoying the free time formerly spend shopping on more productive or useful activities. Pricewise... maybe higher than TJ Maxx or Marshalls but not having to pick over the racks at those stores, looking at sad hanger worn pulled or ripped clothing is worth it to me.

Awful Customer Service
September 10, 2019

Took a couple 'Fixes' to get my style worked out, but as soon as I received a duplicate shirt (exact same shirt from a previous fix), it all went down hill fast.

Customer Service is extremely difficult to reach and after 5 days, they could offer NO resolution other than these things happen from 'time to time'.

Good luck if you ever have to deal with customer service. I've deactivated my account after 2 years. Way too many other options out there.

Disgusting - STAY AWAY!
September 18, 2022

It's clear that the business model of this scam company is to offload random crappy low quality clothes for extremely high prices on unsuspecting buyers. Everything from start to finish is a huge money grab and nothing else. Stitch fix and the owner are masquerading as this high end personalized company. It's just not. The quiz is fluff. At the end of the day, they just want to bill you $200+ for something that probably cost them $3 to obtain. The stylists are probably randoms working minimum wage with no qualifications just packing boxes. The clothes are hideous, prices are outrageous and you will forever be locked in subscription hell. STAY AWAY! You're better off purchasing clothing at shein.

So I like the idea of having your own stylist, pretty cool concept if you dont have any fashion sense. But the clothes offered are outdated and you can find them in the putlet store of the brand or at retail stores like Marshalls or T. J. Maxx for a lot less. Now on the flip side if you're willing to pay the mark up based on stylist's work, then its a loss but might be worth it to some. If you're smart you look at designer names and just shop the designers site and find the items cheaper. Overall i give the idea 5 stars but the clothing 2 stars for being out of date.

Don't do it.
September 8, 2017

This has to be a scam! They keep sending me clothing that was ugly, not my style at all! The worst part is that they keep $20 styling fee each time so you feel obligated on keeping something that was very expensive each time. I received a $300 gift certificate from my husband so it wasn't like I could just walk away. I kept one pair of jeans for myself but gave the rest to my mom just to get this over with. I feel like their clothing is for an older demographic. Over all this was entirely stressful, a scam, stylist that don't listen to you and over priced.

So I went to stitch fix to look for new clothes and clothes that fit. I'm not only really skinny but I'm really short for a guy as well so shopping for clothing can be really challenging especially clothing that's actually age appropriate. Stitch fix seems like their stylists take your size into consideration as it's the first thing you put into your website but my "Stylist" was 100% a robot or just plain braindead. I wear size 7 shoes, and small shirts, I got a size 11.5 shoe with only large and extra large shirts that absolutely did not fit any specifications that I wanted. Now I have to return them in 3 days or I get charged almost $300. Shop somewhere else.

Keep your money
July 21, 2017

What a waste. Spend all this time picking out styles. Tell them your preferences and what you would like to see in your order. Tell them you wear only silver. They send you, gold jewelry, mostly shirts and 1 overpriced pair of jeans. Twice. Done with them.

Don't bother
November 19, 2022

My first and only stitch fix was just disappointing. I received cheap looking/feeling items that didn't even match. There wasn't even a complete outfit. Gray pants and a gray sweater! And they overpriced. It's a waste of time because then you have to send them back. I don't think there are actual stylist or if there are they've picked the wrong jobs

I finally decided to sign up for stitchfix as I have little time to shop and thought it would be fun to receive customized pieces. I was very specific about my tastes (I wear a lot of pink and black and like retro/polka dots and whimsical stuff). And I'm 42. No offense to anyone here, but it looks like they raided the closet of a senior citizen and sent to me. Colors were awful (I don't care for purple and got lots of purple), heavy pants in the spring (really?), and just plain awful and overpriced. I was appalled that they picked these clothes out for me, after pinning and linking tons from pinterest. What a joke. I cancelled immediately and couldn't wait to send everything back. I still like the idea of it and my check out Gwynnie Bee. Don't waste your time on stitchfix.

Overview

The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers appreciating the quality and fit of the clothing, particularly for specific styles that resonate with their personal tastes. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, particularly the difficulty in canceling subscriptions, unresponsive support, and billing issues. Many customers express frustration over receiving items that do not align with their requests, leading to dissatisfaction with the overall shopping experience. This disconnect between customer expectations and service delivery suggests a need for improved communication and operational efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction.
