I've made 2 purchases through StackSocial. The first (VPN Unlimited, 3-year subscription) went well, so I felt good about the second... until now.
I purchased a lifetime subscription to Livedrive (automated cloud backup) in May of 2015. Everything seemed to work well until about 10 days ago when, without any warning, I received an "Account Suspended" notice when trying to connect to my account. Using the contact form on their web site, I asked what happened. I've yet to receive a response.
Since I purchased the subscription through StackSocial, I contacted their customer support, also. I got a speedy response saying that they'd reached out to Livedrive and were told there was a technical issue and it would be fixed in 4-7 business days.
Today, instead of the "Account Suspended" notice, I got a password error. Another attempt at logging in gave the same results so I clicked the "Forgot Password" link, entered my email address, and got "No account found."
I contacted StackSocial again, asking for a refund, but haven't received a response.
UPDATE: StackSocial contacted me, saying Livedrive was unable to resolve the technical problem, and referred me to another one of their business affiliates. I was promised a new lifetime account and the ability to get to my backups at Livedrive (which seemed unlikely since Livedrive wasn't able to do that). A contact email address was provided (suspicious since it is a GMail address rather than a dedicated domain name for the company) so I could get instructions for logging in to my new account. It's been several days since I used that email address to attempt to make contact -- there's been no response.
I asked for a refund from StackSocial, but there's been no response to that, either.
Many of the offers made by StackSocial are too goo to be true. I suggest you avoid those.
There are a few things to note with this organization. Firstly, I bought a bundled course; when I went to redeem it, I was told it had already been redeemed. After being told by StackSkills that I was being dishonest, I contacted the 3rd party broker (Popular Mechanics) where I initiated the transaction and was told "this happens more than it should" and I was only able to get access to my course once they were involved directly with the publisher, so be careful of that.
The second problem with the course itself is that it's difficult to understand--not the material, the instructors. One of the instructors clearly knows the subject matter, but she has a heavy accent and frequently mispronounces words; the other instructor is equally as difficult to understand, but doesn't seem to have a grasp on the actual material--it's painful to listen to.
The third problem with the course is that the information contained in it is incorrect. In the C curriculum, ASCII is mispronounced repeatedly (asskye instead of asskey) the information about data types is invalid. The module regarding If-then-else is called "Decisions Galore!". In short the courses are unpolished, unprofessional and not worth the money.
I got an extremely discounted deal on this course: regular price is $2499, yet I payed 10% of that. It still wouldn't be a bargain at $24.99
Had a sligh issue, which they rectified in no time. Very polite, and i even asked for further help which they served up beautifully.
I got gazillion emails at once spamming big time. I will block and report elsewhere. I'm not sure what they were thinking.
Not happy. No communication and waiting over month. Already beyond promise date. Say no refunds but no equity. Want account credited.
Great support, the person that provided support seem to know my problem with only a brief explanation from my part.
Thanks
Quick delivery of great products and when I ordered the wrong items they very quickly cancelled the order and refunded me.
BlackFriday PromoCode Fail Paid Full PRICE. StackSocial won't refund back to Visa payment
I placed the order and enter the promotion code listed but It didn't work and when click apply then all of sudden it ORDERED for me automatically and pay FULL Price! Yes it didn't ask me payment methods page at all! Took Visa payment that was recorded on a previous payment.
Item: "The complete DevOps certificates courses & practice test bundle" Original $39 dollar after black Friday week discount code is $12. They charged $39 to my Visa and would not refund me. They said they can give me $39 credits back. HOWEVER, store credit can not use Black Friday code AT THE SAME TIME.
So I cost me $39/each credits to pay the same course instead of $12/each!
I am here to tell you YOU GUYS ARE BEING warned. Black Friday WEEK Discount CODE will not work and it will automatically take your PREVIOUS VISA PAYMENT information and charge to the same VISA card.
Furthermore. THey WON"T call you back nor they have a phone number to call. StackCommerce Support is worst. Takes two days to reply anything
And their email called themself "Support Heroes"?
I sent the support ticket 1 minute right away I saw they charged my Visa. It took them days to reply to me back. Then I provided Screen Capture to proof and they wait 2 days to email me back. This is ongoing for 1 week+ already. I am not get their HELP!
I ordered plugs and didn't get all product, until after the help. Now I am satisfied with my order. I do get emails from you and they are interesting
The support tech went out of his way to help me sort out the problem and find the best possible solution.
Amazing customer service,
Thanks
I thought it was buying a new product in VPN Unlimited but they failed to advise that it would cut my internet speed and when I wanted my money back they refused to refund it
I had to reset my password and support was super fast and very smooth.
Great site, great deals, highly recommended.
I think everyone should use their service and see for themselves. I quite liked them, therefore can recommend for you
I had some issues after I made my purchase but the support was fast and simple! Everything solved quite fast!
The Support Heroes are very prompt in resolving the issues. I wasn't expecting any response from them over the weekend but surprised me.
My purchase of ear Bud and my follow up to check the tracking of my delivery.
I have received the required info for which im very grateful.
When I received my product, it was not what was ordered. One email sorted it.
Very friendly help service.
Toby Run Kenobi solved the Problem with my license within half an hour after my sentemail! Thank you!
I had trouble signing into my account. My inquiry was answered almost immediately and a resolution was successfully implemented.
Answer: It took a long time and the intervention of PayPal, but I got a refund--finally--for an item that was never delivered (because it was never sent.) The range of scores for this business makes me wonder why some people get good service and others are ignored--even defrauded.
Answer: They don't want to interact with anyone. You'll get these ridiculous emails from their "Support Heroes" team. They are all cut and paste nonsense, and they deny any responsibility for their vendors. I was only able to get action by working with my credit card company to reverse the charges because of the scam they pulled (item they advertised was not what they actually sold). As a precaution, I also advised my credit card company to automatically deny charges from them. My advice is to NEVER risk buying from them. It's like your mama always told you: "If it sounds too good to be true, it isn't."
Answer: Hi Humberto, We would love to help you on this. Please contact us at https://support.stackcommerce.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Answer: I responded to an ad. Very stupid of me, and i will never do that again!
Answer: They have no customer service, just form letters. No matter how often you email them, you will get no response that makes sense. They have no way of contacting them except emails.
Answer: Clearly playing numbers game. Probably making their own positive reviews. No one stopping them. Internet scammers.
