StackSocial "use" to be responsive and honest with it's customers, but in the last year+ they've become deplorable. Besides reviews across the web, all you need to do is look them up on Better Business Bureau to see how many advertising infractions they have.
PREFACE: BBB complaints really don't do anything, so file complaints with your state's (and their state's) Attorney General's Office. The AG can't represent you, but they will contact the business, and if there becomes a number of complaints, the agency WILL take action against them.
THEN, the same applies to The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) So be sure to file a complaint with them. They have a specific area for the type of infraction I'm going to describe.
I attempted to purchase an online training course, offered at a very special, low price for one day only. When I went to my cart the price jumped from $29 to $39. Still a good price, but not the advertised.
Further complications caused a secondary issue. For no reason, for no infraction - I also got a message saying my account had been suspended. However, I could still access my account, and all my other downloadable purchases. Further insult to injury - I still get their crappy email subscriptions!
I contacted SocialStack (SocialCommerce) for both issues, during which the original deal@ $29 went to something like $600!
I received only one response to my initial support request that asked for info I had ALREADY JUST provided in my 1st message! (STUPID) Since then - it's been ZERO communications! Don't take this abuse. This type of action is completely illegal! It's known as, in layman's terms - "Bait and Switch."
So this began 2 months ago, SEVERAL emails, a complaint filed with The BBB (which has received no response from Social) and a case filed with my state's AG's office. I only now, JUST received a response today. However, the message was vague, made NO acknowledgement of the issues, and a lame $10 offer as a resolution. I believe the response was due to my AG's office recently contacting them.
SUMMARY:
This company has ZERO support, ZERO ethics, and aren't afraid to practice illegal sales tactics. Any possible good looking deals are too expensive in lack of support and ethics you'll never receive. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH STACKSOCIAL. I purchased an ExoMount Touch phone holder for my car and it does not work. They told me they would reach out to the vendor to send me a new one and they never did. This was a complete waste of time and money and customer support does not stand behind the products they sell. They do however let you know that there are NO REFUNDS.
Here is my dialogue with stacksocial.com support:

Hi Serena,
Can you please tell me the status of my ExoMount Touch?
Thank you.

Hi Again,
Thanks for the email!
I'm so sorry to hear your ExoMount Touch isn't working as intended. I've reached out to the vendor of this product to look into this and to send a replacement if there's no troubleshooting they can provide.
We look forward to your response and exceeding expectations next time around!

Hi Serena,
I'm sorry to say that this ExoMount Touch phone holder does not work as advertised. I tried it in both of my vehicles (Mercedes Benz and Toyota Rav4) without success. The problem is with the seal that should be created with the suction cup incorporated with the advertised, "Worlds Best Suction Technology." After viewing the online video I was convinced that this would work and purchased it. Initially, the suction would work, but wouldn't last very long causing my iPhone to drop off the top of the dashboard and hit the floor (yes, I peeled off the plastic protective coating from the sticky material). I even tried washing the base as instructed to make sure there wasn't any debris that would compromise the integrity of the suction, but I was still unsuccessful in every attempt.
Is it possible that I received a defective one where the suction may have a slow leak? I'm not sure, but I am very disappointed and will not be using it in fear that it could damage my expensive iPhone.
Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding the product.
Thank you.
Serena

Hi There,
Thanks for reaching out!
I'm so sorry to hear your ExoMount Touchisn't working as intended. If possible, could you give me more information about what is wrong with your item so I can do my best to look into this further? Also, if you could also share any pictures or video that demonstrates what is wrong with your item, that would be helpful.
Typically, our partners require physical evidence so that they can provide a better product or service to the customer in the future.

This item does not work as described.
Back in 2014 I purchased some registration codes for development tutorials through this website, the codes would then be applied to Udemy. I purchased it thinking that I would need these skills in the future, and, now as my job demands these skills, I was looking to leverage these tutorials.
I logged onto the website and in attempting to access the materials, all the registration codes are no longer valid. I contacted customer support, they told me there is nothing they can do. Here is a copy of the full conversation:

I purchased a developer bundle (pay what you want: learn to code bundle), Order ******* and none of the redemption links work.
I click the link on the course (e.g., become a web developer from scratch!), then after being redirected to udemy I click "take the course" and then it gives me an error that my coupon has expired.
I never redeemed these and now in a position where I can start taking these courses.
Thank you in helping me get this resolved!

Hey [name]!
This looks like these were purchased about 2 years ago?
[name]
Correct
Wade W
We, unfortunately, do not have any codes or redemptions from 2 years ago.
You may need to contact *******@udemy.com to find your account.
[name]
I know my account and have logged into it, I do not see any of these courses there other than a programming for beginners (java) course
Looking at this stacksocial site, it indicates "You're all set. You're now subscribed to your course and can access it forever at Udemy.com."
But I cannot seem to redeem these, that I purchased from your organization
Wade W
They do last forever as long as they've been redeemed and have not been taken off of Udemy for old technology
We're unable to give new codes or access from 2014. You most likely have redeemed some courses and Udemy should be able to help you find them
[name]
These courses have not been removed from Udemy and the links from "redemption link" take me there (using my coupon code in GET rather than POST as well...)
Wade W
I understand but Udemy will have your account information
It will show bad coupon code if the code has already been redeemed.
[name]
But I never redeemed these
And verified I am using the correct account
StackSocial has sold me products that they are not delivering, I either want the codes so I can access what I paid for, or a refund
Wade W
I'm sorry, there is nothing more that we can do.
This is from a purchase from 2014.
[name]
I am failing to understand what the time of my purchase has to do with it. This would be like if I bought a game on steam, then all of the sudden steam deleted my game and told me, sorry this is from 2014
I bought registration codes from your website that do not work
It's that simple
Moreover, there is nothing on the receipt indicating a redeem by date
And the website indicates that they are good for "forever"
Wade W
I'm sorry [name], we have no way of determining if these were already viewed or redeemed since this is from 2 years ago.
You will need to contact udemy to find your account and use your courses
There is nothing more we can do here
