I bought a couple of items (paid £5 for delivery which I think is quite expensive already).
One of the items was cancelled (out of stock although I was able to place the order on the website). I called customer service so they could resend me a similar item ( I ordered a suitcase since I'm going away and I needed another one). They didn't offer me any solution - useless staff working there.
If I want another suitcase I have to re-order it and pay £5 for delivery again!
So I will end up paying £10 for both deliveries. ARE THEY CRAZY? What king of company does that. I will never use their online services again! Please avoid!
Heard from a fellow housemate who works in Sports Direct that due to their zero hour contract practice where the Manager will approach a particular staff whilst at work and tells that staff to go home if the shop is not busy inorder to cut back on labour cost.
Therefore there is zilch staff loyalty to the company which in turn breeds malpractice in order to improve their take home pay. One such practice is to maximise their sales of insoles which apparently the company gives a high bonus per sale of these items.
In order to get a customer to buy insoles for their new shoes purchase, the staff will purposely not offer the correct size asked by a customer, EVENTHOUGH if that size is in stock, but to advise the customer that they only have the next size up followed by a suggestion if the customer gets a pair of insoles, the shoes will fit perfectly!
Therefore next time you're told this porky pie in sports direct, laugh and move onto the next shoe shop!
Saw a pair of trainers in shop. Did not have enough cash. Went home saw them on website £10 cheaper. Thought it sounded good. Ordered them but had to pay £5 collection fee. Still waiting 5 days on. From shelf to counter. 5 days and£5. Mike Ashley robbing his customers to pay back the staff he robbed.
Asked for a pair of trainers for my son to try on, 25 mins later the guy hadn't come back so asked where he was... Finished for the day. Great. We left and won't be back!
Recently bought two jackets and socks online from New Zealand. Sizes of the jackets were so far out that I could not possibly wear it, and also do not know anyone large enough to give it to. The socks were so small that it was too tight for my wife wearing four sizes smaller than me in ladies measurement. When I tried to return it, I found that it would cost about the same as the refund I would receive. Their customer service also went quite after I confronted them with the misleading size information on their web page, and that I should not have to front up for the cost of returning the items. Best advice I can offer is to stay away from them.
I have ordered various items many times. Very often the size is not accurate but that can happen in any store. The quality can vary, some items are good and some not.the biggest problem is with shoes. The ABSOLUTE WORSE is the return policy. I had to return items that did not fit from Germany to UK, and i paid more that the cost of the items! There is no coverage for return of items! Unusual and unacceptable!
Trying to check 2 seperate stores aintree and speke for an item called both easily 30 times over 2 days and they will never answer the phone ansolutely ridiculous!
I love them very much. It is a serious site, I bought many times from them. Cheap and quality products. Emmy
Lost two weekends with this delivery service for a purchase from Sports Direct. First time, they left a note in the door (they must have waited less than a half a second for me to hear the doorbell, gone). Rescheduled the delivery and They simply DID NOT DELIVER. I sat in my doorway from 7.30am til 9.30pm. Nothing. Sportsdirect use this company and should not. By the way Yodel, if you want to see, the number is JD**************. I see that at 21.30 on the 7th May 2016 the status is still 'with the courier' - what's he doing with it? Wearing it, wrapping it for his kid?
Update: at 10pm: Yodel tracking says online 'We were unable to locate your property. Please chat to us' with no way of doing so.
So they came to my address last week and left something in the letterbox 'sorry we missed you' (even though I was there), but this week, they couldn't 'find' my address. Lets see what happens next week. You only get three tries with Yodel. SportsDirect are shameful.
Delay on dispatch, wrong size, delay on response and never admit fault!
Sizing of garments is way off, cant get refund, only credit note so have to buy something you don't really want! For fear of losing credit note! Will never shop there again!
I have been to sports direct Chancery Lane store, there is a lady name Michael or something like that, she was very rude, disrespectful, and was trying to be very cheeky, I would never ever shop there
If you have something going wrong with the product,,, then sports direct is the worst online site you will experiment,,,, if everything arrives ok,,, then they are ok. Since they took out the reviews from their site, it was when i stopped shopping in sports direct since the reviews would give me a clue if clothes or shoes were to large for my size, since people would say: i am 1.87 metres tall with 80 kilos and size M is somehow to large,,, then you would go for size small. Now its a point and miss situation and it looks like the owner doesn't really care about the business since its going down hill year by year and he still doesn't move a finger. For me they are gone and i used to buy so much stuff from them,,,, sometimes to much
I used to always buy trainers etc. I will never buy anything from them again. I bought 3 pairs of Donnay. The sole was so thin They wore through in less than a month. Got a full refund. Have another pair also the sole is thin. Had some No Fear Ski socks. Wore them twice and they holed. The quality now is unbelievably bad. Stuff is absolute rubbish
I have been regular customer of sports direct roundhay. Today we went to sports direct after tennis session. We purchased some cycle accessories. After leaving sports direct, 2 security guys followed us on and made us open our bags on suspicion that racquets were not billed... Made us open our bags on main road. After checking cams. They realised their mistake and said sorry. Does that sorry acceptable.? Their should be proper way of asking. Very disappointing for me and my friend... Only one message to sd... Grow up. Kids behind security. Seriously. God bless. I am giving 1... based on my earlier experience. Else 0 would have been better review. Is this we exect from company claiming no 1 sports company in uk...
This was first time Ordering from them
The First Coffee mug was Crushed
So was the Wind One they sent out
There's no don't in my Mind it was BROKEN BEFORE IT LEFT The UK,,,
My Friend Works for DHL and stocked the Truck himself
NEVER AGAIN!
The boxing shoes were awesome, they were a present for my girl.
They looked more than perfect.
Now I know why the manager of sport direct at Manchester fort working on 22-01-2016 was rude to me.,
It's simply because in this sportsdirect there's no organisational structure that runs the rules of the company in a proper order...
The named Alex manager of this rude manufactures shop was unable to even tell me his name for the complaint I am making now...
When I asked that manager why to have a displayed shoe that does not have a matching size pair!?! The Alex thing answered that they have ******* pairs of shoes and they can't make sure this doesn't happen...
I felt really sorry for this Alex and wanted to offer him to buy half of their stock to relief his brain from crowded shoes pressure...

Worst customer service I have ever received both in store and from the customer service team. Customer rights mean nothing to this company. No wonder Mike Ashley is a billionaire. Never use them again!
Here's my story. Bought a firetrap jacket it was writen L (large) and it was to small.Ok maybe its my mistake. Bought second one, this time XL you woun't believe how i was surprised that this one was even smaller on me. I suspect that they want to sell everything thats left so they stick any tags on leftovers whick no one bought. S if you want xl or l o xxl you gona get ir but it will me M.
Answer: Stores in the USA selling hiking boots usually have thick socks for customers to put on before trying boots. If this store does not, it would be wise to wear the socks you plan to use with the boots when trying them on. Caveat emptor
Answer: On the issue of not refunding the purchase price, is that common policy for retailers in the UK? I'm surprised there isn't a government agency for consumer protection that looks into / bans this.
