Very deceptive. They will charge you $24.99 every month even if you do not accept it. I clicked on the. 95 cent option for an address and was charged $24.99 plus the. 95 cents. The address that they gave me did not even exist. Do your self a big favor and do not use this scam of a company.

I had to call today because I had a 7-Day trial I had to look my name up and remove from my information off of this site because I do have stalkers and people are harassing I didn't even use the whole 7 day trial I used it for like an hour and then when I went under my account settings I canceled it apparently it didn't cancel appropriately I called today someone thought they were being slick taking a full $24 out of my bank account which overdrew me at 3 in the morning but honestly it was up at 3:00 in the morning watching their bank account anyway I had to call a customer service representative the woman said it's about a day Taft d 7 day trial but she will work with me and she gave me $9 back well I didn't even use a service and it wasn't even correct information like I thought it was so why can't you give me my full $20 back how dare you keep plus the $20 for information that wasn't correct and that I really canceled but apparently it didn't go through on their end I'm highly distraught and upset because that money needs to be put back into my bank account because my bank is a bunch of jerks and they charge $33 per overdraft

If I could give zero stars I would. Should have read these reviews before purchasing a single profile report. I purchased a single profile report for. 95 cents. I made double sure not to sign up for a monthly subscription. Guess was I was instantly signed up for? Yep, a monthly subscription. I caught the charge the day after it was taken out of my account. They were only able to issue a partial refund since half the month was over. The only good thing was that their customer service was quick to cancel it and issue some sort of refund.
They got me for that. 95 cent profile plus $14 but I'll never use them again.

I signed up with credit card got to experience the free trial which I really enjoyed and got me all the Detailed information I was looking for and when the free trial was over all I had to do was send a cancellation email to Spokeo asking to be removed from any payments and to cancel my subscription. The information provided is good, but not particularly better than some other sites. The reason for my low rating is there sleazy pricing where after you sign up for one search they ask you to try it for a full month but then do not send you a reminder that they are going to bill you month after month. I was successful in getting them to retract the charge yes I caught it the day that it happened. A more ethical Approach would've been to send you a reminder that they will be filling you in X number of days so you can have a heads up if you wish to cancel.
Please disregard the line, "And it is possible that you may have multiple accounts open with conccurent active subscriptions."
Unfortunately I used Spokeo in hopes of finding who was calling me. Spokeo was not able to provide me with anything other than the city and state where the call originated. Despite no identifying information provided, I was still charged a fee. If you don't gain any information, you shouldn't be charged.

When a friend suggested I use Spokeo to "investigate" a gentleman I was corresponding with, I was reluctant. My number one reason for hesitating was the cost. My friend explained that if I canceled a membership within a certain time period, membership would be free. I protested that this practice didn't seem fair to poor Spokeo and i wasn't in the practice of taking advantage of anyone. After a lot of soul searching, i decided to go forth with Spokeo. Well... SURPRISE! Although, i followed their rules for joining/canceling membership, i was charged more than the amount of the initial fee and was NOT provided any information (other than the basics--name, address, phone, etc.) about the person of interest. "Poor Spokeo" is not nice. I should have listened to my inner voice warnings, and remembered the adage, "If something seems to be too good to be true, it probably is!"

I am the historian for my dad's WWII squadron, and from 2016 to now November 2020 have used Spokeo to find phone numbers for descendants of the squadron members, using names from obituaries, e.g. "survived by Thomas Harding of Bristol, CT." I have great success with this product, amazed it has cell numbers, vs. most sites have only land lines. I estimate 70% of the cell numbers I call work, which is huge, vs. 30% I get a new person, or are disconnected. Landlines is maybe 30% get through, but this is not Spokeo's fault - many people I try to find are dead! I am so thankful it lists dead people, because Spokeo also has links to relatives. Just yesterday a man's number didn't work, but I clicked on his wife, and her number did work. I am THRILLED with this product, depend on it as the most vital resource I use, and have never been disappointed. I was shocked to see the low overall rating, and expect that is due to billing issues some people had, not due to the product. I have never had a billing issue. THE PRODUCT IS SUPERB. I LOVE IT.

I signed up for a Spokeo free trial which I cancelled after an additional two months, using their "Cancel any time" offer. They continued to bill me which I didn't catch right away. Two months later I did catch the billing. I called Spokeo and the nice lady said she would cancel it. I ate the two additional months - my mistake. It is now November and Spokeo has continued to Bill me - they cannot find out why. I have called and called. I have had my credit card block them. That, too, is not happening. I called Spokeo yesterday once again and they cannot find me in their billing list and do not see where I am being billed. I now have to complete a dispute set of papers from my credit card company for each month that Spokeo charges are being disputed! PLEASE DON'T GET INTO THE MESS I AM IN! Don't go with SPOKEO!

They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
