This service is a scam. Take a look at this screen shot of the search review of a phone number. Does it not give the impression that items with a green check box are available and all you have to do is pay $0.95 to view it? Wrong. The customer service rep. Stated the check boxes simply mean a search was performed on these items, not that they are actually available. I paid the fee thinking the data was available only to be given the same two pieces on info that are on the initial search screen (i. E. Minneapolis and Onvoy). Save your money, this company makes money by misleading you.
I read that others have likewise been charged $24.95 for a subscription that they did not want. When I notified Spokeo of that, I was told I would be refunded $9.95. I assume, based on their very poor ratings, that this is a common problem with this company.

I was in the process of signing up, email, password etc and hit the sign up button and it came up saying my account has been cancelled! WTF I didn't even get the chance to sign up and I was still charged.
I tried calling several times and it said call back on their normal business hours... It says all over the site 24/7 customer service, someone is always available. I just want to make sure my account really is cancelled because if they screw up this much in the beginning I want nothing to so with them. Not only was the information inaccurate, but I received a $14.95 charge from Bizshark. They claim I opted in their membership when I signed up for Spokeo. There is NO WAY I opted in for Bizshark. What a scam! They are supposed to refund my money. Hopefully this is the end of it.

Since many customers tend to mistake us for them, sometimes charges will be incurred. This service does require acceptance of their terms, which is stated on that advertisement page. I wish you could give them 0 stars. I used the service to search an e-mail address. It found the person and their e-mail, and stated that they had 9 social sites they were registered on and all that came up was 1 FB that had been deactivated. Where and what are the other 8? Was only supposed to charge me for one time usage and when I rec'd CC statement was $29.70 charge. I called and they did refund $24 of it.

I pay my credit card on-line and have paperless billing. I just happened to look at recent transactions this month and noticed Spokeo has been charging me, not once, but TWICE a month for at least a year and half. One time for $9.97 and a few days later for $19.97. EVERY MONTH! I never agreed to this subscription or agreement or whatever it is and have never used it.

I have had to called customer service multiple times because I can't get any search results out of the info I put in and for $29.95 a month I am not happy. I've been a member for 1 year but have had nothing but problems the entire time and very if any results from searches. Customer service says "what's the number im trying to get info on and they will look. Isn't that what I'm paying a fee for so I can do that? Overall not a good experience. I originally went for spokeo because of the ability to do a reverse phone number look up. After looking up the information, which I paid a one time offer for a limited time, i was disappointed. The information I received made literally no sense and was old. I felt that a lot of the information is obtainable without spokeo, however having a large bit of it available in one location is nice. But the biggest thing was that a lot of MISINFORMATION is posted as well as old information. For example, it says that I was possibly married which is so far from the truth. It also has my last known address from 2015 when I have lived at 2 other addresses. It also had very very old emails as well as social media sites and nothing new. In conclusion, I terminated my membership and will use the free resources or another site like spokeo that provides a lot more prevalent and sought after information for the same price, if not cheaper.

So I didn't realize that they had charged me $24.95 today, after a 7 day free trial. Which is my fault, because I thought I canceled it and didn't. But I called them to get a refund, after not searching for anybody and being the same day that I was charged, and they only gave me a $9.98 refund. I could not find any information on their website at all and anything that I wanted to know about, I had to pay extra for. Also the $24.95 is supposedly for only a 100 searches it's not even for a month. HORRIBLE.

I signed up with Spokeo to specifically find out who is calling me to determine if I should call back... I get less than 2% of my searches providing a result... And when I do get some information usually only the provider and whether it's a landline or other they have the audacity to offer to sell me a PDF of what I viewed on my monitor... I am in the service and was looking for a trusted site for work related information. I signed up for a free 30 day trial to see if it was what I wanted/needed. I had 1 more day to cancel if I wanted to but on September 11th They took $9.85 out of my account and there is another $19.95 pending. What?! I sent them an email and got nothing in return. I don't understand why is this a scam? I want my money back. Both of the amount's. I still had 1 day to cancel before they started taking unauthorized amount's out of my account. Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.

Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit.
