Total Ripoff

After their takeover of Time Warner the plan on was on expired and my bill went up $60.00. Over the course of the past year it's gone up another $20 so now i'm paying $200 a month for cable and internet. I have no complaints about the service, just the outrageous pricing. Even going to their lowest tier channel lineup only reduces my bill $20. Time to cut the cord. For internet speeds i'd recommend, but if you can get cable from another provider i'd recommend it. They just keep gouging customers.

Half of the time nothing is working I really don't understand what I'm paying for, and to have one of the representatives explain it to you is mind-numbing! Not only are they rude, talk down to you like your stupid, but everything that one representative told me a few months ago the one I spoke with today told me that that was all wrong. 95% of the time my guide and cable are not working correctly, my Wi-Fi sucks even though I have the"upgraded" version. I truly don't understand what the hell I'm paying for, so not worth it at all and the worst customer service I've probably ever dealt with not just once, not twice, but three times I've spoken with people.If I could give a lower review I would.

Almost 100% negative comments. Went in to cancel my cable tv service but keep internet. Customer service rep treated me like crap and talked down to me. Does she not realize i am still a customer? Do some customer service training please. You are very lucky that you don't have more competition or else you would have zero customers.

Bait and Switch

Like many companies nowadays, this company is dishonest and they don't treat their customer's well at all It's all about how they can trick and squeeze you for every penny. They rope you into thinking one thing, then spike your rates the longer you stay with them. Be prepared to deal with this trick and a lot of bait and switch tactics. If you can get another service provider, do it!

Company is a liar

I switched from direct t. V. to spectrum a year ago, did it and was told about how they cover the early buy put. It's been a year now and they still did not do my buy out claim how they are backed up then say how I never submitted the forms which I did 3 time and once took it to one of their stores, they claimed to have called me but they keep getting my personal Information wrong, tell me how they will call me back but never do. Over charged me $600 and when I asked them to return the difference they instead returned the full among weeks later without me knowing and now turned off my services saying I own over $700 now. My cable and Internet are very basic. My bill went higher every month. So yo save my credit score I had to pay the buy out myself and all spectrum has to say is they sent up a ticket, no idea what that means but it's been sent every week for a year. Now I get to sit in a quite house with no services

Waste of money
September 4, 2018

Every time we use our on demand service or rent a movie it glitches or kicks us off saying it's currently unavailable try again later and when we go into the movie or show again we can't get into it it just pops up with the same thing. It's a shame for a company that was supposed to be such a big deal is just over priced and doesn't put out quality in any way I hope they get kicked out of NY

Prices jump steady-AVOID
November 11, 2019

Charter was decent for years. Now the prices go up and up. I only subscribe to internet. About every 10 days I receive a "savings promotion". I had been getting them for a year. Bundle Internet with Cable for $44.99 each. $90 month plus tax fees = over $100 per month. My internet was $44.99 May. Its now November and its now $79.99 and raising steady. Time to say goodbye to Spectrum. After 15 years I am so done. Just not worth it for what I use. Other companies much cheaper and rated better!

This company is as about as bad as it can get. They are obviously paying minimum wages, because anybody you talk to rather push you off the phone than actually help you. I can see why though, because they literally can't help. It's an awful service that you will regret purchasing immediately. Service people you talk to are just warm body's that will tell you theres a "service outage in your area" or "your modem is bad". There is no solutions besides "let's try restarting you router" and let me save you the time, it won't work. They string you on as long as they can and Mike you money until you finally had enough.
This company is a scam!

The worst
March 24, 2022

Spectrum has the worst ever customer service. They keep you on hold for hours, transfer your from one rep to another, and no one knows or cares to help. They promised to take care of my mobile lines, and nothin that I requested was done, even after holding for 3 hours! They are trash and worthless. Do not give them your money!

We did not have the channels August 31 thru September 11 which was 12 days. I received a credit of $5.43, which means that I got 45¢ credit a day. This is a huge insult. This really tells me what Spectrum thinks about their customers and customer satisfaction.

We have to reboot our two new spectrum cable boxes at least twice a day.
The most common problem that makes us have to reboot is that after a couple of hours of viewing we suddenly can't change TV channels.
Reboot takes about 8 minutes, which really ruins the experience of what we were watching.
Spectrum service always responds by saying "you most likely have a bad cable, connector, or termination problem".
But it was spectrum who provided/installed/terminated everything!
Including new cable from outside our house to their new cable boxes, new cables to our TVs, and programmed the remotes.
We won't except this poor performance.
We are now pursuing someone/something other than spectrum.

Wanted to cancel my service, but was told they do not pro-rate fees. This is not written on the their monthly invoice, then the customer service person told me I should have been told this when I signed up for service, which was with Time Warner over 20 years ago. Paying $250.00 for Cable, phone and internet. That does not include any premium channels. Was then told I should have read their policies on line as they are updated often. Now after reading their invoice, their rates are going up again next month. So if you want to go with Spectrum for their low introductory rate, wait until that rate expires and see what you will be paying.

Time Warner/Spectrum has always sucked, but now since the merge/buy out, they're even more horrible. Bought new Home recently. Online it searched by my home address and said internet service was available. $44/month for 12 months. Ordered it online. Even set date and time. Gave me a confirmation number. Then said to call to finish order. I called. A customer service representative who sounded like he was asleep took my call, asked for my confirmation number, my address and then mumbled "I'm sorry ma'am, we don't service your area. Have a nice day". Then hung up. End of story. Seriously? I can understand no service in my area. I'll even try to understand that the online check where I was told I could get service, when in fact I could not. But to provide that kind of non-caring personality to possible future customers? Horrible! Worse than Time Warner agents ever had time to be.

They're terrible

The price was okay and I had them for years, but despite the lies they told me they were definitely throttling my internet and at night it would constantly cut out. Which I had several calls with them on and almost always had to wait on hold. There was never another option until a competitor put in a fiber optic line and I switched. Competitor has been way easier and better to deal with. I'm writing this review 2 months after the fact because they called wanting me to return the motem but would not come out and get it themselves I had to bring it to them or they would continue charging me every month. I was told I could just go to there store and do a quick drop off. Well 2 hours later and I'm still waiting. Apparently I cannot just hand it over these are the slowest store workers I've ever seen and when I called to complain because this is not what I had been told I got that round about customer service way of telling you to go fluff yourself

Epic failure
August 19, 2022

Spectrum cable is constantly jacking up the price. Recently they upgraded the box, remote ect. Total bust. Box doesn't display time. The guide format is terrible. The other way was just fine. They made it worse. Someone there wanted to justify their salary and stick out their chest. I can't believe how bad it got.

Spectrum is terrible

Internet is expensive and only fair on reliability. TV is the worst experience I have had in the last 40 years of cable. VERY expensive, program menu is terrible on accuracy and time, DVR recording will typically only go out 5 days, sometimes 7 on a few channels. Power or cable outage - takes about 5 days to repopulate menu. Just raised our rates again. We're going a different route. Soon

Can I give this service a zero?

Absolutely the worst decision you can make is to get Spectrum. They entice you with a low offer and then quickly bump up your rates, without even telling you. The service is mediocre and the customer service reps are nice, but incompetent. Then when you try to disconnect, they screw that up also. It's a horror story.
Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Customer service rep didn't address the issues i was having but his kept rambling on his sales pitch to purchase a new phone when i only had mine for 6 months. The service sucks to say the least. Decided to go back to TMobile. Would never recommend Spectrum for anything. Only heard other customers complaining about service issues while there and lack of help from store reps.

I have been working on getting a number ported with Spectrum from a competitor in the Tampa area for 45 days now. I am paying both bills and waiting to have my phone number ported. NO ONE seems to be able to help and will not forward my case with notes documented the account to a supervisor.

They sent the installer over and switched everything to their equipment without having the work order completed at the road. I was left with no working internet, phone nor cable for 36 hours. I still have no phone and the internet is spotty. I cannot get ahold of anyone that can fix or cancel the service. I will never use this company in the future and will let everyone in the community I have lived in for 21 years know how horrible Spectrum has been. Just pay the extra for the competitor its worth it!

Horrible service
August 26, 2022

I manage rental properties and needed to contact spectrum to see if they provide service for a specific address to let my new tenants know who to contact for cable and internet services. The automated system that answers the call is not helpful. So I had to speak with someone and they ended up being in the sales department. Once he realized that I only need information to see if they serviced the address he was very short with me and basically hung up on me without being helpful at all. If Spectrum as a company isn't going to have representatives to answer simple questions than maybe you should train your sales people to be friendlier to customers.
