My new neighbor just got Spectrum for 4999 and I'm paying $75. I called Spectrum to see if I could get a better rate since I've been with them for many years. They left me on hold for 55 minutes, and never came back to the line. So that's what you get with spectrum. No Customer Service. Zero.
Spectrum has continued to contact me and harass me for an account that should have never been made, equipment was never used and returned and yet bills and phone calls are still happening. I would not recommend them to anyone nor will I ever consider using their services in the future.
I signed on with Spectrum for internet, cable and mobile services in June 2020. They have increased my internet and cable bill annually twice for a total of now $85/year. They promise another $14 increase next year. They said this is because they discount the first year of service and annually increase it until you are paying retail rates. I have been a loyal customer and pay timely. The thanks I get are increased bills. The only way to decrease the bill is to cut services. It's a huge, expensive slap in the face. I am disgusted and will be finding another provider. Beware.
With so many negative reviews, one would think spectrum would take some sort of corrective action. The fact that they have not (and my "service" is as bad as ever) tells us a lot about the character, or lack thereof, of the company!
I recently moved from San Diego to Oregon. My house closed escrow on 6/23, unfortunately Spectrum billed me for the entire month into July and they argued that this is part of the contract and referred me to the legal language that no one reads. This is monopoly behavior as they were the only provider in my zip code. It would have been easy to issue a credit given that I no longer used their service; instead, they were rigid and lost a customer for $79.99...
Never thats when. Our internet went out this past saturday along with my neighbors. So no internet, phone or t. V. for neighbor and no internet for me. No service was available in our area till Tuesday! What? I own a business and if a customer called me with an issue it is our job to fix it within 8 hrs, next day the very latest. Weekend or not. So we have to wait till the fourth day for someone to get this fixed. Wow! I would be out of business without s doubt. So now you know, when you are the only game in town. For internet at least, you can do whatever the hell you please.
Nine times out of ten the guide and dvr doesn't work. Price went up after a year with worse service. I can never watch my recordings when I want to because the tv just goes black and never works. Cannot wait to switch.
At beginning of hurricane Harvey, Spectrum went out and didn't come back on til Monday after the storm. Relative has Dish and it was operating during all of the storm with only a few blips during heavy wind and/or rain. Will probably switch.
Spectrum bought out all providers around me just to provide horrible service. The internet not only at my house but my mom house goes out every 29 mins for about 2 mins. I'm currently working for home and this is a big inconvenience
Parents are trying to figure out why spectrum show commercials with two men/ women kissing, holding hands etc. Who are you all trying to reach...not us, but our children and grandchildren. We as parents/grandparents are sick and tired of this. You all have taken this too far. Parents can't sit down and watch television with their kids anymore. This is sick and unnatural, something has to be done. You all need to stop airing these commercials. By the way, what does medication has to do with your sexual preference/ orientation?
The mystery was cleared up by the technician Spectrum sent to my apartment because they got tired of dealing with me. After he checked my connections and broke an antique glass dish without telling me, I learned that Spectrum did not offer local channels in that 15-channel package, but that if we wanted them we had to purchase the higher priced package for $64 a month. With the hidden "broadcast fee," whatever that is, the "big savings" I was promised by the landlord amounts to $3 a month.
My apartment complex's management entered into an agreement with Spectrum to change up our free cable service to streaming, and to offer a discount for an add-on package that would provide us with local channels and a selection of 15 basic cable channels. I was interested in this because it would be much less to pay every month than the $76 I pay for streaming and internet alone. So I called Spectrum. Two days, 6 phone calls and over 3 hours talking to customer service reps, sales reps, supervisors and supervisors' supervisor, and it was finally revealed that oh gee whiz, Spectrum came up with the add-on package but for some weird reason, it will not load, so there are hundreds of us waiting for a "resolution." Meanwhile, I await a "callback" from Spectrum, and I wish there were another provider other than a company that has such incompetence as its normal standard of operations.
My 82 yr old mom who's on social security was moving from one "senior" apartment to another. Her "billing" cycle began 1/23. I turned her equipment in on 1/26, but the STILL deducted from her checking account $207 on 2/11. I called to get her reimbursed, but they said they bill monthly, not daily. I spoke with "management", and specifically asked if they were charging my 82 yr old $307 for 3 days of cable, and her response was "that's the policy". I can't believe they can get away from "ripping off" our seniors!
Basically you are paying 100 per month and receive no wifi connection, also suddenly disconnects you under whatever occasions. The customer contact is another joke and i wonder why this company still exists at this point. The whole spectrum is a $#*! and should go suck $#*!
All I want to know is why my bill went up for no reason! So I called. Which was great, a real person answered. Turns out she's worst than a robot. Asking me for a security code and refused to help me locate that. It was on my monthly bill statement. How hard is it to just where it is located? That's one count. Then I asked the price for a service in my area with voice and Internet. Which she doesn't know how much it was. Has she been through training at all? Second count. Okay, then I asked her to transfer me to the sales department so I can ask about promotions. She did! Hooray, except she transfer me to a totally irrelevant department. Third count. I mean, I know Bright House was infamous. Changing the name to Spectrum without changing how you assist the customer. What good does it do? This is why spectrum last half of its market cap! Lol, short this crap because it will eventually go out of business.
When I got the service, I specifically said, "no introductory rate". I did not want my bill going up after a bit. Guess what? Bill goes up as a result of a introductory rate. I called and was told under no circumstances would they lower it back. This is just another example of poor business practices. Spectrum is as big a joke as Time Warner was. Just change the name every few years and consumers will think somethings changed.
On hold 12 minutes to resolve a loss of service (EVERY time it rains) and then was told I would be transferred to someone else who could help. Another 5 minutes on hold before he hung up. No call back. Problem not resolved. I can NOT recommend.
They suck! My cable, wifi, everything has been cut off for over 5 hours and they just like to send messages saying it's gonna be a later time. It's so quiet in here gives me the creeps. I've stayed in this apartment almost a year thank the lord I'm leaving in a week. But this has literally happened like 8 times. For 1 we pay to much to live, for 2 we pay you guys and can never have wifi or cable……
There's always something wrong with their service. For no reason, the cable box shuts off, and the screen goes black. That happened 4-5 times while watching a show. At night, when I click on the guide, it says, 'please wait.' What in the hell are we waiting for? I called them, and he said it was probably the cable box. If there was another cable company near me, I'd change! Their bill keeps going up, and the service keeps going down.
Complete crooks. They upped my bill this month by over 30% and when I called, after being a customer for over 12 years at this location, they basically told me tough sh*t. Now, I've to to cancel them and start all over. What a bunch of total A**holes.
I'm looking into it. I cannot let them get away with this.
So many biased opinions in the ticker across the bottom of the screen. As a former journalism major at Texas A&M University, I was under the impression that to be a reporter you disclose facts... not opinions. If I wanted an opinion, I'd listen to a radio talk show or a tv "hosted" show. Why can't the news be factual and not opinionated? Shame on you for not strictly reporting and allowing individual bias to color your reports. I will NOT be subscribing to spectrum anytime soon.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
