Dishonest company

Spectrum is a terrible company. Because of the lack of support at our residence (with a business account!) we decided to move to fiber. Calling to cancel is a problem. It takes forever and most of the times the line goes dead after waiting for a long time. After I finally got someone to cancel I went to return the modem to their location. Found that the main location closed... then checked online. Had to go to another location. After arriving was told to check in on one of the devices that have at the entrance. None was working, other clients tried to log in... the workers didn't even know the devices weren't working. I asked what to do to return the modem... only reply was that I needed to login. I got upset and suddenly was told that modem returns are at UPS. So now I had to go to UPS! Imagine if they tell us that we need to return the modems in Raleigh? I went to UPS and had to wait due to lots of people ahead of me and lots of people returning modems. Was told that they were receiving hundreds of returns, more than ever. Not surprised. Because of all the issues to cancel the service by phone I got delayed 4 days (because of them) because it takes never less than 1 hour to have anyone do something. They still decided to bill us for next month and said there is nothing I can do about it. They bill from the 12th of each month... looks like they do on purpose to lock people. They have a very well laid out game. So people, be careful, it isn't TimeWarner! It is Spectrum and not a good company anymore. They will find a way to use the subscription to take more of your money. Here is not the extra month that hurts me but will hurt some people. So my recommendation is to stay away from Spectrum. They don't care about you. And I have to live with the guilt of having moved so many clients to Spectrum... Now, starting to move them all away from Spectrum.

RIPOFF

THANKS SPECTRUM FOR RAISING OUR BILL AGAIN. WE WERE PAYING TIME WARNER $130. NOW, WHEN SPECTRUM TOOK OVER THEY RAISED OUR BILL TO $160. NOW ANOTHER RAISE TO $183. WILL BE CANCELLING OUR SERVICE.

Spectrum's internet is a JOKE! Unfortunately zero stars isn't an option!
I have had people at my house more than four times in over six months! Not to mention I've had spectrum for 4+ years now and my Wi-Fi is always gone in and out in and out and I just dealt with it. I'm at a breaking point. And I refuse to deal with it any longer.

The first time someone comes out, they wiggle some wires in the back of my house and say the l wires were loose! 20 minutes later internets not working!
Also, when I first got spectrum, they refused to run a cable down to my basement for the TV because ""my house is too old" my house is not that old they're lazy.

The technicians are lazy. Not to mention the third time I had someone sent out. He was so nice and great but smelled awful. It was disgusting. My house smelled for at least over 25 minutes not to mention, lighting every candle in my house, and every spray I could find.
The fourth time they switched out my boxes even him admitting I can't find anything wrong. I don't know what the problem is.!
I've had nothing but issues since I've had spectrum!
Your Internet could be out for days and they only compensate you a dollar plus a day!
Not to mention, they can't normally get anybody out that day or days after!
Customer service people are always polite and nice but honestly there's nothing they can do they offer to send someone out!
Rebooting daily is a joke it shouldn't need to be done daily!
They supposedly send out updates yet I'm told over the phone. My router modem update doesn't go through and I need to call to have it updated.
Why should I have to call you to update my system and inconvenience myself?
140+ dollars for $#*!!
I literally feel like spectrum does not care about their customers whatsoever!
Beware, if you do get spectrum, you will deal with issues not to mention them upping your bill without any communication that they're raising prices for crappy, crappy, crappy Internet! The audacity to raise prices when you're not even getting the service that you're already paying for! Hmmm!
I will never ever use spectrum again. I don't care if it was free I would never ever use spectrum!
So I suggest you use caution, while even thinking about using spectrum for anything!

Worse ever

Spectrum is easily the worse service I've ever signed up. I deal with buffering daily and now Disney GREED has removed espn and sec network.

I would not even give this one star. Tv goes off, channels freeze up, takes time to load, with Time Warner we NEVER had any of these problems

Thief lying to the customer very rude

I got a service for Internet from spectrum for $44.99 after two months They raise the price for $59 tree month after $81 for bad service since I have a automatic payment they charge my debit card without my permission when I noticed that in my bank account I called and I canceled the service and they asked me to return the equipment I Went to the spectrum store And return the equipment Three days after I cancel my service and return the equipment I get Receipt for zero balance, 2 months after I receive a bill for $337 when I called them they said you never called to cancel the service He told me it showed that you returned the equipment but you still have the service, to cancel you have to pay $337 They are Not on us this company is a trash don't do business with spectrum Unprofessional and thief They stealing people money and time and the service is Disconnect after 12 AM I have a very bad experience I don't wish anyone to have this experience again please work with Frontier or wow it's better for you to lose your money Spectrum and the employee are rude and garbage

We signed up with Spectrum and were told we would receive internet and phone for $34.98 for two years. After I placed my order with them, I was asked by the representative if I would like to have cable for free for three months. I said no and the rep said I could try it for three months and if I didn't want to continue with cable service I could cancel with no contract and my bill would be 34.98 for internet and phone service. Three months (January 18,2021) I call to cancel cable because I did not want the expense. I was told that the price I was given was not a "package" they offer and if I want to cancel cable my bill will be $99 for internet and phone... Just a side note: my bill currently, with cable, is $99. I gave the manager the date and name of the rep (in Retention department) I spoke to when I set up service and when she looked through the notes on my account she said the notes were there, showing the special offer of $34.98 for cable and phone package given to me on November 13,2020, but there was nothing she could do because "Sales" had given me the price. She transferred me to sales and sales said they could not give me the special package offer I had gotten three months ago because I was a current customer. The sales rep said on the retention department could make a price change. So 8 reps later and going around and around with the Retention and Sales department I got no where. NO ONE I spoke to seemed to care and had NO compassion for the lie I was fed. This is a Racket! Spectrum is very dishonest! I am currently looking for a different internet service provider and will NEVER use Spectrum services again.

Poor Customer Service
November 1, 2018

I called to get GENERAL information in regards to the package deals, and pricing. The first time I called the gentlemen was so pushy. He would give me information about one package deal, and then say "Ok, I'm going to sign you up for that package". I explained to him several times that I did NOT call to sign up for anything right now, I just want to get some basic information in regards to the packages & pricing. He continued to be persistent on signing me up for a package, so I told him that I will have to call back. He stated that "he will call me back in 10-15 mins". I told him not to call me back, I will call back when or if I wanted to start new service with their company. He caught an attitude, and hung up the phone.(this occurred on Sun. 10/28/18). I called back today hoping to speak with another Customer service rep that could explain things to me in a better manner, and not be so pushy. Well let's just say that today was NO BETTER. The young lady that I had spoken with stated that "she could not discuss any package deals, or pricing with me unless I provide her with my name & service address". I explained to her that I had the website pulled up as we spoke with the package deals, and pricing, but had a few questions in regards to what premium channels were included, if any in what packages. She explained to me that " the pricing on the website was NOT CORRECT, that the pricing was off by about $20". Umm, excuse me I'm not sure about anyone else, but $20 is sort of a big deal, and if the prices online are not correct, when will they be corrected. 2 bad phone calls to this company just to get some basic information prior to starting service with this company just put a bad taste in my mouth. So with that being said, Spectrum will NOT be a service of my choice, and also after reading ALL of the BAD reviews. I'm completely satisfied with my choice.

Hideous Crank Callers
January 3, 2018

Spectrum placed calls to an unauthorized number and was told two months ago to delete this number from contacts. The caller refused to answer questions and read off a list of queries replying himself that the customer wouldn't answer his questions. He would not stop his run once he began, although I interrupted him about this on several occasions. Spectrum refused to remove my number from their data base and kept asking for the number I was calling on, despite my informing them that they had a digital display right in front of them. This occurred with every call to their business. They continued to seek more information, including driver ID numbers to enter into their data base. Spectrum continued to place calls to this unauthorized cell that day, including an obvious crank call with a blocked caller ID. This was a purported customer survey, automated.

There is absolutely nothing legitimate about a business placing any call with a blocked phone number, and this is a telecommunications - internet company. I was basically cranked by the phone company. I called corporate headquarters in Conneticut and it took too many calls to get a person on the line, and then the switchboard would not transfer calls and repeatedly declined to identify their own business unit. The worker eventually admitted she was on the switchboard. She transferred the call to Legacy Escalation Services, and this customer service unit refused to acknowledge that it was customer service -- at every turn. His name is Mark. Mark wants the crap to roll down hill and told me to contact Spectrum in my resident state. He, too, claimed he did not have my phone number. What?

And no, no one can talk to corporate relations, public relations, or whatever absurd unit actually manages corporate communications in this hideous company.

I give this company one star, as this is a rating system. A star is supposed to indicate that you did something well, but this was contemptible behavior on the part of everyone I had to deal with.

This company needs to be under investigation. Is the CEO listening?

Company is a Joke!

Called Spectrum to see what kind of deal I could get on cable TV. Offered me a introductory offer on Cable, internet, land line and cell phone for $83.00 a month. Was told that the Cable did come with the local channels. Get the self install kit, hooked it all up and there were no local channels! Called them up and asked where are the local channels and they said the package I ordered DOES NOT come with locals! Told them about the guy that I talked to said that there WERE locals with this package and the woman on the phone basically said that I'm a lier! She said that I could get locals with a "pick 15" plan that I had to pick 15 Cable channels, but it was 10 bucks a month more! So she emailed me a list of channels to pick from. I called them back and spoke to a guy this time, told him I chose 15 channels and wanted him to hook them up for me, gave him my 15 channels and mentioned the locals also, in which he replied- you can't get locals with the pick 15, but could with a pick 30 package! And these upgrades would have been $140.00 a month! Now I'm pissed! I told him to come and get there equipment! He says "But you haven't even been with us for 24 hours yet!" So he transferred me to a "retention department" and I told her what happened and that I have smoke rolling out of my ears I'm so pissed off! She tried to get me to take the 140 a month package, and this time I yelled at her saying that if you don't come and get your equipment I'm going to throw it out of my front door! She said that she would send a box to put it in and to drop it off at a place that ships UPS. Then I told her that I want a full refund of 130 bucks, in which she said that I have to pay 40 bucks for the activation! That's when I started screaming at the woman! She finally said that I will get a complete refund within 3 to 5 working days! That BETTER happen or one of there reps will be seen in small claims court!

We had accounts through Spectrum in two different households. Before they changed their name, we had Charter Communications at our main household for over 8-years. The worst thing about Spectrum is the constant rate hikes. In one household we had cable and internet service that began in July 2017 at $110.00 per month. In August 2018 it jumped to $144.00 per month. In September 2019 it jumped to $157.00 per month. In September 2020 it jumped to $165.00 per month. In September of 2021 it jumped to $175.00 per month. In May 2022 it jumped to $190.00 per month. That's a 75% rate increase in only 5-years! Each time I called to complain they said there's nothing they could do for me -UNLESS- I would be willing to bundle our internet, cable and add 3 phone lines. The entire bundle would then cost $285.00 per month which is more than we pay for everything now! They obviously care very little about their existing customers. Then Metronet came into our neighborhood and I called to cancel BOTH of our Spectrum accounts. OMG, then it was on. Them: "But, but, but...why would you leave us?" Me: "Because you're too expensive." Them: "But we can get you some discounts and bundle your service to save you money". Me: "Imagine being on a very, very long train ride. At first it isn't too bad, it's actually kind of fun. But along the way you've encountered some annoyances and costs that makes the train ride unbearably miserable". Them: "Um...Okay". Me: "But eventually the ride comes to an end. Are you going to get off?" Them: "I suppose...". Me: "Well I'm getting the hell off!". But here's the amazingly ballsy part. About two weeks after we cancelled BOTH our accounts I get a call from Spectrum to inform me that if we come back to Spectrum within 90 days we could get NEW CUSTOMER PRICING!
