I have been a customer with Charter Communications in one way or another for over 30 years. I have no idea if the decline in service not to mention the abysmal products has anything to do with spectrum taking over. I've been at my current residence for less than 2 years. They came out and did complete new wire work, which I was charged for, and assured me that I had the latest technology available. After that I have had the best and most highest priced DVR boxes replaced many many times. Today is the last straw! Once again, my box freezes up and they could not fix it over the phone, which happens on a monthly basis. Most of the time, which is weekly, I can unplug the Box and reset it. Anyway, they sent a technician out with a knew Box today at 4:00 p.m. Literally, with in 45 minutes of his departure it goes out again. I called spectrum back and told them what a heavy burden it was for me, just a working man on a salary, to take off work this many times for their appointments, especially when they don't know what they're doing in resolving my issue. So, he had not been gone an hour before the junky equipment tears up again and spectrum tells me they can not get any body back out here. I am done, the next time this messes up, I will not be Calling spectrum again, it will be their competition! By the way, I have the most highest priced package they offer, my bill every month its over $200, there is no appreciation whatsoever. Not to mention, I don't know where they're getting their employees that answer the phone, it's definitely some 3rd world country where nobody has the ability to speak correct English.

Tried to add cable service to a New SMART TV. Called Customer Service - It took "Darrel" a LONG time to even find our account. He proceeded to advise we "had a balance due" on our account? & did I want to pay my bill? Seriously - The bill (due 9-25-20) just arrived 9-11-20. Got Nowhere with Darrell - called again (both times - held for 15-30 minutes). Set appointment for technician to come & hook up the new cable. We were told the technician would arrive between 8 - 9 a.m. -showed up at 9:30 & didn't have a CLUE as to what he was supposed to do - SERIOUSLY? Asked me where my "koaxa" cable was ( had NO idea what he was talking about). He said I needed to have a "koaxa" cable. Proceeded to tell me he needed to "look thru the entire house" to see where each TV was located - SERIOUSLY? Argued with me about where attic access was located - said he was going outside to "check things out" - NEVER RETURNED. The reason Spectrum Rates are so Low - THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS MUCH LOWER - as in NONE - than their rates! They are the only company who does not require technicians to keep to a schedule or CALL OR TEXT when they are on their way to service. BEWARE PEOPLE - WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - THUS THEIR LOW RATES! VERY SAD their advertising is EXTREMELY MISLEADING. We are BOth a personal & multi location business client - our IT Manger WARNED us AGAINST doing ANYTHING with Spectrum - lesson learned!
WORST SERVICE EVER! They hound u like little diseased rats to get your astronomical amount due each month. It's funny when u try to pay them but they want to charge u to pay with an actual human. I mean, wtf else are employees for?! Then employees are dumb AF, omg! They all say different things and it all comes out of their asses. But then, it is a regular thing for the cable & On Demand to go out. Internet too. FIVE different times in the past 2 weeks I have been towards the end of a movie or show and the cable goes out. If ur watching On Demand you have to re-watch the whole movie cuz can't rewind or fast forward. I also couldn't get on a Zoom meeting for work the other day and got reprimanded for it. The owners /executives of this company should just make everyone's life better and off themselves. They're crooks. They give u a rebate of about $4 cuz prorate the monthly cost and the outages are no more than 1 day. But if ur late or pay with a Live Rep they charge u more than that. Fk ur $4! Nobody cares tho. I know. If you have ANY other options for cable or internet DO IT. Spectrum is so slimy and they give ZERO fks about their customers.
Once AGAIN Spectrum is engaging in deceptive and injurious to their customers business practices with no government oversight at all protecting consumers. If you like constant rate hikes for minimalist services then they are the communication provider for you. One week ago, I get an email from them saying thank you for being a long term customer and they were now going to up my internet speed to 200 MBS at NO ADDITONAL COST to me. Today, I get my monthly statement and I see they are now charging me an additional 15 dollars a month for my internet service. Obviously this company has problems telling the TRUTH about their services. They have a monopoly in my City providing TV/Internet/phone service which is completely and utterly WRONG because communication services are vital in todays world and they should NOT be allowed to mistreat citizens with constant price gouging for minimalist services. By the way, this is NOT a one off for this company. Mistreating their customers IS their standard operating procedure.

I have had 6 solicitors come to my door late in the day around dinner each time. Each time I asked to be put on a do not contact list. Each time they said it'd be taken care of and 2 or 3 weeks later a solicitor would be back.
Some refused to leave the property and this us highly illegal and is considered trespassing. One tried coming into my door when they were told that I wasn't interested and was told to leave.
I called the national hotline. (Only number available.) They said they'd refer it to the supervisor and didn't know what could be done.
On top of this I've had 2 solicitors for spectrum harass me in store. One would not accept no thank you as an answer and started swearing at me for cutting her off twice because I was running late. Another blocked me in an aisle after cutting me off trying to sell service to someone and refused to move out of the way.
On top of that Ive had 2 occasions where contractors who worked for them were trespassing on my property and mouthed off and refused to leave while servicing my neighbor. A 10 ft allowance doesn't allow you to trample over 120 ft across my property stepping on anything you please. This is also trespassing.
On top of all this, I had 3 contractors try to hook up service that wasn't ordered. They had no identifying clothes and used a white unmarked van. They argued for 25 minutes only to realized they read the work order wrong. East and west are on opposite sides of town. After all that, a month later I received a bill for no service every month for 7 months. It took 7 visits to the local center to remedy it.
They hire criminals who take low wages abd have no respect for people or the law. Do not use. Legal action will be pursued.

Unreliable. Internet goes out frequently. It went out for 48+ hrs one time. They had a technician come out bc they thought it was a coaxial cable issue. Yeah okay bc a brand new coaxial cable that you provided just happened to go bad randomly. Tech came out and told me it was something structural, whatever that means. He said they will have people come at night to fix it and they dont need to come in my house. Well, it still wasnt fixed by 9pm that night. So i called them again and the lady said they will get to it tomorrow morning... and that i would need to be home. Wtf. 2 different stories. I asked wtf is wrong and she couldnt really tell me what it was. Said something along the lines of its old material and they need to do maintenance. Well okay why did you wait until my internet was completely down to do regular maintenance, like yall wouldnt have done it if i hadnt complained? Anyways internet still wasnt fixed in the morning... bc nobody came by. Then they sent another tech around 3pm and he just hard reset the router... wtf. Unreliable liars. They probably dont even know what was wrong in the first place. Idiots.

I just spoke with a representative from spectrum and they told me because I returned the equipment on the 1st of April I have to pay them a full price.i will NEVER EVER GO with you guys
I just switched to Spectrum for fiber internet and tv. Their service tech showed up on time on the 21st however, spectrum had not pre-burried the fiber line. The tech was respectful, called tech support in front of me and scheduled the fiber line to be buried and ran to my house. He even marked where the line should be installed with spectrum's flags and communicated that to tech support as I already had a different provider with a fiber line installed. Cool right. The line was installed while I was at work and they didn't follow the markings their own tech marked for them and they cut my current fiber line. Now I have no internet. I called spectrum and told them what happened, they told me a tech would be out the next day to install. Well nobody showed up. I had to take off work to be home, when I called spectrum back again they said there was no record of me having an appointment. I keep getting excuse after excuse why a tech cannot come install internet in my home. I had to purchase a Wi-Fi hot spot as my wife and I both work from home some throughout the week. We are coming up on a week now since spectrum cut my line and they don't seem to be in a hurry to correct their mistake. Spectrum was asking me to consider changing to their mobile phone service. The price is good compared to my current provider however, I visited my current provider and asked for a hotspot and I was on my way in 30 minutes with great service. It seemed like I was going to save money and I liked how spectrum let me choose the channels I wanted but as of right now, I can't recommend this service to anyone. Absolutely no accountability for their actions.

Spectrum open ghost account with my information and i asked for years and never be closed although every time they said they did!
Apil-2018 I got a letter the internet service will increase the price from $49.99 to $69.99 soon and not specify the date. It is a 40% price increasing, and i decided to cancel the service. Almost the same time, I saw my bill already increased to $69.99. I called in to cancel the only service of internet I purchased before and the customer offered me $59.99 and tried her best to keep me as a customer from July-2018. At the same time, my bill is $69.99 from the April-2018 and nobody responsible for it. I filed BBB complain and no solution! I wrote to the CEO and NO RESPONSE! I filed complain again to BBB and CEO again and finally some liars called in and offered solution: Adjust my charge and offer me one month free internet because the more than 20 hours i spend on the process. I closed the BBB case and i found they DID NOTHING AND STILL BILLED ME ON JULY and the ghost account under my name is still there! Shame for this CEO! They are stealing people's money without any management, create ghost account of customer to show wall street how good of their business! Stay away and ban the business of Spectrum!

I GAVE THEM THE RECEIPT NUMBER WERE I HAD RETURNED THE EQUIPMENT. THEN THEY SAID I OWE NOTHING. THEN I GET A BILL FOR OVER 81.00 AND I CALLED THE SAID THAT I OWED THAT AND THEY MADE A MISTAKE ON THE EARLER CALL. I WOULD NOT AND CAN NOT RECCOMMEND THIS COMPAY TO NO ONE. I WILL EVAN ASK ANYONE I KNOW THAT HAS THEM TO STOP USING THERE SERVICE.
4 to 5 weeks ago between 12 am and 1:30 am Spectrum pushed out a update that
Started their system to have the same issues that Time Warner was having. Time Warner had volume issues such as a large differents between the volume on different channels. You would go from one channel to another and it would either be so LOUD or so Quiet you had to change the setting to enjoy watching it. Also some commercials when they come on would BLAIR so loud that you had to watch tv with the remote in your hand to adjust the volume all the time. This issue did not happen on the spectrum network until they did the update. One of the loudest commecials is a SPECTRUM COMMERCIALS FOR INTERNET! Spectrum acts like they never hear complaints but I know others have the same issue. It is against the law since Dec of 2014 for them to make commercials louder than the program. We all need to do two things call Spectrum *******112 and file a service complaint about it with them. Second is to get on the internet and file a complaint against Spectrum with the FCC which regulate this issue.
It bad when you pay for a service and can not enjoy it without a remote in your hand to hit the mute button or change volume settings every time you change channels or certain commercials come on blaring at you and your family!

First off, the service is horrible - the internet bandwidth is a rip off, never able to handle the load of two devices let alone more. I relocated out of state and cancelled my service the first week of September. I was told by Spectrum to turn in my equipment either in my original state (Maine) or turn into a Spectrum store at my new state/destination (Colorado). So I did just that, on Sept 22,2017, I entered my Colorado Spectrum store and turned in my 2 DVR's and modem with remotes. I have a receipt for such return. On Sept 27, I receive a bill for outstanding equipment. So I call customer service and they say just wait until you receive your final bill and it should reflect. So I wait. On Oct 18, I receive a collections notice for $160! I enter my Colorado store and ask what happened. The CO store says they don't communicate with main Spectrum because my cancelled account was originally Time Warner (prior to being bought out). Really?
I try calling the customer service line and am on hold for an hour waiting for a supervisor. Once I get a supervisor, I'm on hold for another hour. So because this company is stuck in 1970's with their inability to communicate and inability to process a signed receipt by THEIR agent... I'm in collections. As of Nov 1, they say the equipment on the receipt is not the equipment they seek. There are 3 other pieces with different serial numbers. Sounds like one of their "stellar" installers forgot to return equipment after an upgrade or something. Why on earth would I have 6 pieces of equipment, and if for some bizarre reason I did, what benefit would I have keeping it when I'm only getting service for 3?
Do yourself a favor, and go ELSEWHERE for your entertainment needs. Reading other testimonies I can tell this company won't last long. I will NEVER return to this deceitful and corrupt company. I don't care if I have to pay an arm and a leg more, I will never do it. I have already preached the gospel about this so-called company and people are following suit by cancelling and going DirecTV.
On 10/7/2019, Monday, My wife and I were watching TV; the MLB AL Divisional playoff game 3 to be exact. At just before Midnight Spectrum decided to do "scheduled maintenance" to their TV, phone and internet service. This was the 8th inning of that game. A LIVE game... Not a recording. We called Spectrum and were told by a recording that it was a scheduled maintenance and we couldn't speak to a representative as they would have no other answers than what they have provided. How about answering the question as to who decided to do this maintenance while millions of people where watching this broadcast... Oh and Monday Night Football was also on. While all this may seem frivolous, the point is we are paying for a service, we are NEVER late on our payment and if we lose service when we are watching something LIVE, that we REALLY ENJOY... Too bad. Wouldn't it have made more sense to do this maintenance while most people are sleeping? 1am? 2am? 3 am? No, because in ST. Cloud, FL Spectrum as a virtual monopoly. The other options for service are dish (which in the State of Florida should be banned) and a weak fiber optic from Centurylink. So Spectrum can do as they please and never have to worry about satisfied customers. No one can hold their feet to the fire for their poor performance. This is Spectrum and if I can save just one person from this nonsense I am satisfied.

On Saturday June 11th at 3pm, the internet went out due to bad weather (which it always does with this provider anytime it rains "too hard").
The last time this happened the technician was negligent and didn't turn my Wi-Fi back on for my building's unit, so I went a WEEK without internet (as a work from home employee). Extremely unacceptable.
Today, Monday June 12th at 6:30am I called to see why my building still has no internet (again as a work from home employee) and no updates on what's going on are in the system. Technicians have supposedly been working nonstop since but I was told it's just my building without internet again and that they have no idea when the internet will be working again. Then at 7am today (Monday June 12) they sent me a text message saying if my internet is still out after 4 hours they will credit my account as if my internet hasn't been out since 3pm Sunday (June 11) while they have been "diligently working to restore my internet" for WELL over 4 hours…
I've literally never dealt with a provider that had as many issues with providing internet as Spectrum does. It makes no sense.then they try to push more services on you as if they are efficiently able to provide the one internet service you're forced to have with them if you live in an area like mine where they are the only provider.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
