Awful
April 7, 2020

This is literally the worst cable service I've ever had. Outages, removing/moving channels without notifying. We live in an area that is served by only one cable service or I'd switch so fast it'd be scary. Comcast is far superior.

Using this pandemic to up your rates by $30 a month! When I called I learned my promotion ended. I asked when I signed up did you state I had a 3 year promotion? Well no! I figure I'm just supposed to pay it, because we are in a pandemic and we need internet TV and our phones... Crappy way to do business.

I've had to call Spectrum twice since this virus lock down has begun. Waited on the phone for 20-25 minutes each time - p. Poor service - why don't you hire more people (heaven knows people need jobs!). They knew there would be a surge as people were working from home. Very poor vision - poor management. High rates and no service!

On 3/27/2020 I reached out to Charter Spectrum 2 move my elderly mothers phone service to my house as she would be staying with us for an undetermined amount of time with being released from the nursing home. I waited an hour on hold and talk to a nice young man me and Michael who said it in order to do that we needed the four-digit code off the top of her bill. I had to explain to him that she had not received a bill in years due to the fact that when she was starting to go blind she placed many things on auto pay so they just pull the money out of her bank account. So he said if I could access her phone that he would send me a code. My mother just lives around the corner from me so I drove right over there Michael sent a code and all was good until he realized I do not have phone service from Charter. So he was going to have to send me to sales but he notated account very well and assured me that I would not have a problem from there. Approximately 45 minutes on hold I got to speak to someone and sales. She told me that she could just Note my account but I had to go to customer retention two first shut her phone off but they should be able to handle everything from there. Get to customer retention another hour on hold and got told that we had to have the 4 digit code off the top of the bill. This is where all the arguing and Hassell started I told him that we'd already been verified it was like pulling teeth to get them to look in my account to see this. And when he did see the code in that I've been verified he said that code was no longer any good then it was only good for an hour and that I had to have the coat off the top of the bill. As my anger increased he decided to hang me off to a senior supervisor who was no more help then the representative but I've been talking too. So long story short 4 1/2 + hours on the phone and got absolutely nothing done. It is my opinion that these people are just there for a paycheck and do not care one bit about their customers. I now looking at other options for internet and telephone services! I would never recommend doing business with these people to anyone

Our family is thankful for your offer of free Showtime during the coronavirus pandemic. We have had charter spectrum for over 30 years and this has been a very welcomed free service during this time of our lives to stay at home. Thank you for your support to add this service. We thank you and know you are doing your part to support all during these trying days.

Spectrum raises my rate this month for no reason other than I have been a legacy customer for too long and they can raise it because people need the internet. I am not only elderly but a customer for 30 years and now that the covid19 conditions are here it is time for spectrum to raise my rates. Taking advantage of this serious time, my age and the fact that i have been with them for 30 years. Unlike the companies that are trying to help the elderly during this crisis, spectrum takes adavange

Spectrum has all these packages at great prices then poof somehow your bill for basic cable and basic internet is 190.00 a month? What the hell it's such a ripoff. Then your late on your payment for one month and they're charging you 600.00? Ridiculous and my service is about to be cancelled! They do what they want where they are the only services offered. So greedy.

They 'lose call logs' and then you spend 1,5 hours trying to provide that you closed this account and opened another one and even though the date match, they still billed you and unwilling to waive the fees for the second account that was supported to be closed as of two months ago.

Disgraceful
March 31, 2020

I am a small business owner who, like so many other small businesses, has had to temporarily close due to the Covid-19 virus. You can imagine my disbelief when I opened a letter from Spectrum today notifying me that my phone and internet service fees were going to increase by 45%! I called customer service' and explained to a very arrogant young lady how dire things are for my business right now and that I couldn't believe they were increasing my service fee by 45% at this time when so many other businesses, federal and local governments and others are pulling out all the stops to help each other. Her response, there's nothing we can do, it's already set-up in our system, have a nice day'. Really? That's it? I have filed an official complaint with the NCDOJ, and I would encourage others to do the same. Spectrum's advertising and marketing messages about help and understanding are pure bs. They could care less about anybody or anything other than the almighty dollar.

Support Wait Times
March 31, 2020

I have never contacted Spectrum support when it wasn't an extended wait time. Almost always more than 45 minutes. Spectrum has the very worst support of any entity with whom I do business. DO NOT USE CHARTER/SPECTRUM FOR ANYTHING.

Liars!
March 30, 2020

I received my April bill (which increased by $50 since my promotion ended). I was on hold for 1.5 hours (which I can't be too upset about right now), but I was LIED to when I originally called and was told they no longer have a resolution department, and there was nothing they could do to improve the cost of service. I called back to terminate my service and was immediately transferred to (you guessed it), a resolution specialist. This is how I also found out they DO NOT pro-rate bills any longer. If I terminate service today, I still owe for the two weeks left in my billing cycle! Ultimately, I was on the phone either waiting or talking for about an hour and 45 minutes and have to pay a bill for service that I won't be receiving. This after being a customer for about 20 years. No wonder they are averaging one star. How can they charge someone for service they don't receive!?

This is posted during the Corona virus crisis. Heard other companies were modifying what we owe so those of us who lost our jobs can survive, not only does Spectrum not help the woman said,,," you have the stimulus package coming, you can use that to pay the bill,"" Really! Apart from that being none of your business, when it comes through it will be to feed my kids, keep the lights on and put gas in the car... not give to a greedy company like you! Shame on you Spectrum... you promote yourself as the people's company. What a joke...

THIS IS A WORST COMPANY EVER, I HAVE A HUGE RECORD OF THE ADDING FEES, CALLING THEM, I CX SERVICE DURING
I had Receiver charges $7.99 for 9 years, around $860. I cx my service and got a bill 103$ for receiver which It should be fully amortized by now multiple times, when I ask how much receiver cost,-$103. So, you lease something that cost 103 dollars for 9 years paying $7.99 and you still own $103.,
I am requesting to pay my 9 years of lease back t o me and agreed to pay only 103$.

When I called in for free internet for student work, the representative told me that tv was also free for 30 days, so I ordered. When my bill arrived one week later and I was charged $80 I called in and asked to credit my bill. Supervisor Liz #******* told me they will not honor what the representative told me! I spent over an hour on the phone. So this company is lying to customers, getting them to order services at no charge then making them pay for it! Absurd to treat people like this in a crisis situation or any situation. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY FAST! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT LYING, MONEY HUNGRY GRUBS! IN NO WAY ARE THERE HERE TO HELP THE COMMUNITY! Now I have to wait another 24-48 hours for a manager to call me back. Liz told me I could not hold for her manager.

March 10 spectrum cut off my fully paid landline with no warning. On March 11 I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get the phone service back. Spectrum refused even though it was their mistake. Claimed that my phone number suddenly overnight became a business number.
I cannot create an account at my new address and expect that all cable will be cut off. The only account for me at Spectrum shows it is cancelled.
Impossible to get through to anyone. The lovely (sarcasm) online "chat" is not a chat. It is a semi-literate lookup for common problems. This is not a common problem so the "chat" is useless.
So, today I waited for 30 minutes to get through. Then they said they couldn't answer my question so they would transfer me. I got another recording telling me to call back.
But spectrum is a monopoly (paid for with $ gifts to the aldermen who approved the contract) so there is no alternative. They can do whatever they want.
Just like being in prison.

This morning got up a my internet service was turned off I am not working because of the Coronavirus taking unpaid time off trying to be responsible like we've been asked to do so I don't have a whole lot of extra money laying around we're all trying to do what we can for a country in the make things better here Eye Spectrum does not care about that Spectrum cares about getting their money and saying screw you to everyone out there that's not able to work right now they would rather us sit at home with no TV not knowing if things are getting better or what to do to keep yourself safe but they get their money so that's all that matters to them very poor decision on their part unacceptable I'm very disappointed I definitely hope they don't get a bailout cuz they
Sure don't deserve it and I hope people realize this and once they can get back to work find a company that cares about their customers unlike Spectrum, is this not the greedy fat cats that we've all been hating and despising and they're proving that they are nothing more than that oh, I really hope they feel the repercussions of their poor business practices

I got a free trial for Super Bowl and then tried to cancel. Not only does there recording say they have high volume of call and wait time is 2 hours then then they hang up. I've tried several times to cancel but they only let you cancel on phone but you will never get anyone so they keep charging you month after month. Crooks. We need to start a class action suit against this company!
