The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to poor customer service and escalating costs. While some users acknowledge stable service performance at times, many express frustration with frequent outages, billing inconsistencies, and unresponsive support. Common complaints include difficulties in service cancellations, lack of transparency regarding equipment ownership, and inadequate resolution of issues. The sentiment is largely negative, with customers feeling undervalued and misled. This feedback indicates a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service practices and address billing transparency to enhance customer satisfaction.

I had Spectrum in the Dallas area and had internet and cable. They kept jacking up my bill until I ended up paying well in excess of $200 a month. I finally got sick of it, cancelled the cable and lowered my internet speed. I then bought firestick and was much happier.
Later, I moved to Oklahoma and cancelled my remaining internet service on 04/05/20 and returned the router and modem via USP. Later, they attempted to bill me for not returning the equipment so thank goodness I had kept my receipt from UPS with the equipment ID. I was able to get them to remove the charges. Then I received another billing from them for the internet charge. They explained that since it was a contract, they bill for the full month of April, yet they advertise that they don't have contracts. I should have been billed pro forma and only paid for services through April 5th.
This company has very sticky fingers and they are always digging in your wallet! Bewarre!
I am a Spectrum Customer. Spectrum sent me an offer for TV+INTERNET+VOICE for $99.97 a month with the addition of up to $13.50 in taxes and fees per month (found in the small print). The printed advertisement said to call *******357.
I called and 4 persons from the Billing, Sales, and Retention areas refused to recognize the validity of the printed offer. They were righteous and wanted to continue to charge me an additional $30 per month in fees. BEWARE of ANY offer from SPECTRUM!
No contract., bills go up, have to cut channels, bill goes down 4$ next month it up 9$ Devine made monopolies illegal in Ohio, rememberers. Got through after 2 wks. For free internet. Waited on 2 boxes 3 days turn into 3 wks. Still no boxes, bill went for 109$ to 164$ with the free internet. People lined 10 -15 deep outside office. Wonder if they got free internet.
I have been having trouble with my iternet service for the last 2-3 months. I've made call after call, somtimes being told that it was an "Area Problem," sometimes a Remote "Technical Support Fix' that didn't last but a few hours and the list goes on and on. It was not until last night, April 29th, around 7:00pm, a Technician named "Lenny" physically appeared at my home to rectify the problem. He was the NICEST, most KNOWLEDGEABLE person, in my opinion Spectrum has! If there are more like him, I congratulate you-If they aren't, you need to HIRE SOME! Thanks Again, Lenny!
Spectrum policies suck! They convinced me to do a seasonal hold before moving and now I can't take advantage of any moving deals and/or your 30-day money-back guarantee. I should have cancelled months ago. Now I have to pay for months of unused service. I'm never going back. Don't ever let their retention department convince you to transfer service or put your account on a seasonal hold. Just cancel! You're just a number to them and their agents don't have any power to do anything. They don't care about your satisfaction at all. They can't go back and see that you didn't have any service (modem wasn't connected) and that you want to have service at the new location but don't want to be billed for when you didn't. You're just a decision tree for them. They're humans trained to act like robots.
I can not believe the poor treatment I just received. In all the insanity that is moving. They were not contacted until 4/1/20 to have the service disconnected. When I contacted them to find out why I received a bill for the full amount the representative stated that the service was not disconnected properly and because the service was not stopped on 3/31/20 I would have to pay for the full month. First of all I haven't been there since 3/24 and live in another state where there service is not available. Secondly the other members of the household have also moved to another state. So apparently they have absolutely no grace or customer service at ALL. They only care about the money that they are making. Total pond scum. If I EVER live anywhere again where they are the service provider, I will go without rather than give them a single penny!
I've had to call Spectrum many times since the virus lock down has begun. I've waited on the phone for 30-40 minutes each time... what a poor service - why don't you hire more people there are people that are working from home and student trying to do homework. Also wifi has been turning completely off every single day and all the workers say is to plug off the cable for about a min or switch the box to a new one (mind you this was many times and before the corona virus begun). I am paying to much for bad service!
Very poor vision - poor management. High rates and no service!
I prefer contracts because Spectrum continues to increase its prices several times per year, for different and sometimes the same reasons. At least with contracts, you'll definitely know what you'll be paying for the length of your contract. Not having a contract helps them more than the consumer. When I bring this to their representative's attention there's never a response. I've even asked for a contract, but you know the answer. Other than that, they have good customer service, so overall, in my opinion, they're decent.
After seeing a high bill, I see they added services I DID NOT WANT, like TV and phone (dont have tv and already pay Tmobile). You finally get to customer service and they can only sell you more services but do nothing about your current bill/ overcharging and removing added money sucking "services" randomly added. You wait forever on retention phone line because of course there is NO CALL BACK FEATURE. I AM LIVID. BEWARE OF SIGNING UP WITH THEM.
Super Spectrum service ever received
Ms; Julie Collins =located in Pennsylvania came to repair a Spectrum issue in our home in Vestak NY *******.
She was superb
Detected the problem
Corrected and repaired several issues
Spent sufficient time until the problem was over
Even informed the computer repair persons of their mistakes
Was exytremely kind and helpful
Unfortunately, if you cancel their service anytime during the month your are still responsible for the rest of the statement cycle whether you use them or not. Even, if you only used 7 days, you are still liable for the 23 other days that were not used in the month. They do not prorate in Texas as of 2020. Also AT&T is cheaper and fiber-tastic!
I used to have ATT internet, but when I moved I was forced to go with Spectrum due to some legal issue that prevents ATT from being in my area to prevent a monopoly. Spectrum is a horrible company to deal with. I set up on autopay, so I haven't logged into my account in probably over a year. I do not remember my login, and when I request a password change, the verification code that they send never works. When I call and enter the phone number associated with the account, I am told that there are two accounts linked to my phone number (no), and when it asks for the street address of the account I am calling about, it says that my address doesn't match their records. So, I have no access to my account. They call and harass me regularly at work to offer me TV service, even though I tell them every time that I am not interested. I have no other options for internet in my area (how is this protecting consumers?), so I have to deal with their $#*!, or not have internet. I hate Spectrum with a passion. They are so concerned with sending weekly letters telling me that I qualify for their TV bundle, their phone bundle, and whatever else, but they can't even maintain a working website that allows people to retrieve a forgotten password. They sent me a letter that my service is being upgraded for free to "up to 200Mps". For a couple weeks it was jacked up to close to 200, then it promptly dropped lower than it was before, and now hovers somewhere about the 50 mark all the time. Also, the router has decided to start dropping devices at random, which it never did in the previous two years. I am guessing it has something to do with one of their router updates. My phone, my computer, my wife's laptop, daughters laptop, Ipads, Netflix all just randomly disconnect at any given time (individually, other devices stay connected). The only way to fix this is to unplug the router to restart it, disconnecting everyone.
Do not enroll in autopay. Twice the payment "didn't go through," so they charged me a $25 dollar fee. I called my bank and they said no attempt was made from Spectrum. They'll bill you random fees if you don't pay close attention. Terrible customer service as well. No one wanted to help and said it was policy to charge a $25 fee... even if it's their fault. Not to mention you pay a $5 a month fee for the router, which I'm sure I've paid off by now. They nickel and dime you anyway they can. And on top of that, the internet is not reliable. You have good days, but mostly bad.
I recently received a letter from Spectrum that my services will be increasing by more than 35%. I can't believe this company would push through price increases when so many Americans are suffering including us. I sent emails to Spectrum management, but they showed zero empathy. I would recommend that you drop Spectrum the first chance you get. There is no company as uncaring as Spectrum. Why couldn't Spectrum suspend price increases for at least until the Pandemic has ended? I guess they think $$$ is more important than people.
Two years ago I started a new TV and internet account. At the time my price was at just about $100.00 per month. A short time later I added additional channels for an additional modest fee. After one year my bill went up 20.00. I questioned why and was told it was an introductory price only. One year following that it went up 39.00. Again I was told that it was a raise to the introduction price once more. There was no mention of an introductory rate at the time I started. What incentive is there to stay with Spectrum? Your prices are exorbitant! I'm being billed 180.00 a month for internet, one cable box and Silver bundle. All the channels show the same crumby movies and shows repeatedly. Why pay for cable and have to watch commercials?
This is a bad joke.
And to point out. Spectrum is the only company not working with it's customer during the Covid19 hardships.
The company sucks!
I pay for 100mgb and have all the necessary equipment for 100mgb internet. When I run a speedtest the best speed I get is 5mgb with only one device connected to the internet at the time (even though my computer is plugged into a Ethernet port) and wifi is even worse. Spectrum typically tries to give excuses when I call but these excuses are very bad excuses and never make sense, they just don't want to help to fix the problem. If you are able to use another cable internet provider 1. You are lucky 2. Use the other service.
I ordered 5 DVR cable boxes that took 2 weeks to receive. Once received, Spectrum sent be 4 regular boxes instead. I was transferred to numerous customer service reps that was rude, one in particular; told be there was nothing he could do and transferred me to another rep. After I was bounced around to several reps, I decided to go back to direct tv. I WILL NEVER attempt to purchase cable and internet from this company again. Extremely waste a time... they lost a new customer!
I had Spectrum Internet and Cable TV since 1/2020 and the service is horrible! The Internet drops connection multiple times a day up to 3 minutes before it re-connects. The TV picture breaks up on multiple channels making watching TV impossible. Every time I try to call for technical support I get a recording that "Due to high call volumes we cannot accept your call" and the call disconnects. For the price they are charging the company is a complete rip off!
By far the worst company out there, they simply do not care about customer service. As for the actual service, it goes down about 30 times a year. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would.
Never EVER use Spectrum Internet or Mobile. They do not pro-rate their bills, so they will charge you a full month for JUST ONE DAY. They even lied to me and told me it would be pro-rated before I travelled and did not honor their word on that. Misquoted a fee and never honored that. Very deceitful company. They don't have staff that even apologise for this. They all have zero empathy for their own mistakes. They will take whatever money they can get from you at ever angle. DIsgusting company. Only offering ways to make sure they rip you off any which was they can. Any company has to be better than Spectrum, Stay away you will regret it!
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
