We, unfortunately, had Spectrum for 2 years when living in Angier, NC. Spectrum has a policy where AFTER you return equipment that you ALSO have to say, "Hey, cancel my reoccurring bill". This is insane. I've returned your equipment, cancel my order AND I have to say, "Don't bill me anymore." This is semantics and shady practices. How are they still in business?

Discover would not refund me based on their policy, despite that I could show that we had returned the equipment and the last charge was AFTER we left the state. I can also provide proof that they raised our rates as we had a recurring charge.

They also lied and said we'd have a lifetime rate but then raised it within the first year. They are deceptive.

3 months in and I HAVE my Spectrum service! They keep tacking on HBO and such channels and just putting it on my bill. I guess they think most people do "Auto-pay" so they won't notice? I asked to block these channels from being added and they said any person on any device can add services and that's how it stays. You can't block that on the account. All I can do is go on every single tv tablet phone computer etc and block it individually. Yeah, because that's realistic?!? Every device on the internet can access the tv shows. Oh, and they can't tell what device added the charges so you don't even know who to have a talk with or if they're even IS someone adding things. They also looked about the included channels when we signed up. One channel, FREE SPEECH TV (FSTV), isn't even offered by their company on any rate plan. Neither is LINK. They offer NOTHING thought provoking, just kind numbing garbage. Their on demand selection is a joke. I seriously find myself watching shows on FREE apps like Pluto, Tubi, Peacock, etc because they have better selection! And Lifetime network? They want another $30 a month to watch that one channel, even though they said it was included when I signed up. Oh, and the EBB $50 benefit? 3 months and I'm still not getting the discount I've been approved for since before I switched. Are they getting the money and not passing it down to customers or what? Idk but I'm so close to cancelling service. Calling them again now so we'll see...

Atrocious At Best!

Without... providing a lengthy narrative of my many terrible experiences that wouldn't be a surprise to the masses... The core question is why hasn't the FCC addressed the omnipresent atrocities? We're aware of the abhorent incompetencies with Spectrum, but we can't and shouldn't allow for two neglectful acts if the FCC continues on the current path of do-si-doing around these consistent issues.

Spectrum is so bad. I disconnected my service due to a move, because it was turned off 1 day after my billing cycle ended, I am being billed for a full month. As a bonus my promotional period ended at the same time so my bill went up $28 as well. They are forcing me to pay $189.07 for 24 hours of service. Spoke to two employees that both essentially said tough luck, it's in the fine print on all of our bills. I guess that makes it fair... unbelievably bad.

Government Monopoly

Spectrum is the end result of anti-trust laws & FCC policy. A monopoly, despite what you think you know, is the result of government edicts. "A right granted by a government giving exclusive control over a specified commercial activity to a single party." This is to what our forefathers fought re: the Boston Tea Party. King George ordered us colonialist to buy tea from him (he being the end recipient of any purchasers of East India Tea). That utilities & now cable companies demand the same, backed by the gov't, Dem or Repub, only speaks to a fascism you have all come to accept. Spectrum is $#*! $#*!ing cowards of poor productivity... and so are any companies that demand you accept them per the government's edict. READ Ayn Rand.

Horrible

We moved and decided to go with Spectrum services as we had them prior with little issues. Well that was a big mistake. We signed up for the Spectrum TV and Internet bundle. Instead of Spectrum TV boxes, they sent us Apple TV boxes. We called them to report this error, and they said no problem just drop off the Apple TV's unopened to the nearest UPS store. So we did. UPS opened the box to scan the serial numbers of the devises for return. One of the devises is being returned to us because UPS opened the package. Spectrum refused to do anything for us because they said they couldn't prove who opened the package. So I called UPS. UPS verified that the package was brought to them unopened. They said that a Spectrum representative needs to contact them due to their contract with them. So I called back Spectrum who told me they don't do that and I'm basically out of luck. Most of them were very rude over the phone and before letting me explain kept raising their voices over me to tell me I opened the package and there is nothing they can do. I have asked them to go back through the recorded phone calls to hear that we never requested or purchased Apple TV's multiple times. They continue to say they will but I have heard nothing. They also included Spectrum TV on our bill even thought we never even had the service and I have had to make multiple calls to try to correct this. They also left the internet cable across our driveway for over a week which was a safety hazard. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT using Spectrum if possible. They will send you things you don't order and charge you for them. Their customer service department (with the exception of a few who did not have the authority to help) are rude and sarcastic and do not even let you speak.

Ever since this broadband program started where spectrum pays a portion of your bill, I have had nothing but problems with my internet! I dont know if it's because they are paying and have slowed the speeds, or are just getting over! They have funding, so if they pay $50 on my bill, how do I know if my speed is still the same as when I was paying? They can easily slow speed, make a bill be 25$ but say they are paying $50 "pocketing" the difference because I cannot even watch a show entirely through! Every 5 minutes the internet disconnects. They keep saying it's the equipment but this is our 3rd set of it in less than 3 got dang months! I'd rather just pay my original billing of $60 with the original speed because there weren't ANY ISSUES OR DISCONNECTS PERIOD! SPECTRUM YOU SUCK!

Stay far far away!

STAY FAR AWAY! Get anything else if you can!

Terrible customer service with no thought of the consumer. Things are not spelled out clearly on bills and are not communicated on the phone. We called for clarity and were not given that because "it is written on your bill every month." They knew we were moving and took full advantage of that to get $$ for a month of service WE DID NOT USE. We called WELL before the new billing cycle for clarity on canceling. During a VERY emotional time spectrum was of absolutely no help to us but instead took full advantage. Beyond frustrated and will be telling everyone we know NOT to go with Spectrum as the consumer is not their focus. They are greedy thieves with sneaky billing practices.

I'm paying for tv service not 5 commercial every 5 min. And they want more thats 20 comercial a hour and thats 280 a day and thats 8440 a week so I'm getting 40 min. Every hour and paying for it and they dontvtell new customers that low price is only for s and them better than double 8t

I moved across the country from NJ to Los Angeles for my job, and had everything setup so that I'd have internet ready to go when I arrived. The experience went as follows:

1st Technician: Spent 2 hours, replaced the Spectrum modem which he said was "a piece of crap" but ultimately decided that the coax cable needed to be redone
2nd Technician: Said the 1st technician was wrong and replaced the router instead. One minute after he left, Wifi went down.
3rd Technician: Agreed with the 1st technician and called to have the construction department replace the cable.
4th Technician: Replaced the cable--but said the router was bad.
5th Technician: Said everything was up and running fine, but that the internet might be "slower than promised." After he left, the router went from blue to red, and yes, the internet went down.

Thanks to Spectrum, I was without internet for ONE WEEK.

All of the above is not a joke or an exaggeration. So, I decided to go with Starry instead--Internet was up and running in under an hour.

Under no circumstances should you EVER use Spectrum. I moved all my belongings and my life across the country, and yet, Spectrum ended up being the most stressful and worst part of the experience.

Poor service poor customer service. Side note their billing department is always always current! If you have interrupted service. Live with it. Just know that spectacular billing department will always be on top of it charging you each moment of the day. Isn't that comforting? Do Not subscribe to this service! Lots of BS

My equipment was returned, after 2 months of disputing my bill I was forced to pay $120 for "unreturned " equipment or it would go to collections. One customer service rep even stated that equipment gets lost between store and warehouse, yet they still charged me for equipment I turned in. I would not recommend this internet provider to anyone for any reason, they have been nothing but painful to deal with. Every time I talk to them they need more time, even after 2 months of issues and phone calls.

Horrible

Local cable bought by spectrum. Their service sounded good but -
1 - app doesnt work with Roku tv so have to buy Roku device for each tv!
2 - Remote, guide, menu so non intuitive and complicated that after 9 months I only watch 1 channel because if change channels it's hsrd to get back!
When i find another source for CNN I'm dumping this dog!

I used to really like having high speed internet from Spectrum. The party ended though just after I went and turned in my equipment. I got a bill about a week AFTER I turned in all my equipment. I was PAID up and in Full the Day I cancelled. I asked the Counter person, now we are good right? He said, Yes, you cancelled just before your next Service Month date, so you owe nothing. Then I figured this new Bill for a Future Month is a mistake. Long story short. They sent me to Collections! For a Future Month of Service AFTER I was paid in full and turned my equipment in! I called the 800 number. She said there is nothing I can do! Not Cool Spectrum! That is no way to do business!

When you have service, it's good! When you don't though, and need a local technician, it can be a nightmare. Spectrum's processes here are awful. When you call customer service, the only two things they can tell you are if you have a ticket open for the local dispatch team, and when it's scheduled to be resolved. It is NOT at all guaranteed to be resolved the date that's listed on the ticket. And then after that, all they can do is 'escalate' the ticket to the local dispatch team, who then only calls you to tell you the same information (yes, they have an open ticket and this is the date listed for the work to be completed). 9 times out of 10, that date does not happen and all you can do is call again to see what the new date is associated with the open ticket. This can take many days to get resolved with little to no help from Spectrum customer service or the local dispatch. It is very frustrating and disappointing. Based on the service/support alone, I would not recommend Spectrum.

Terrible customer service. If you try to figure out a problem using their chat you will never get an answer. You will wait for the next agent for 15 to 45 minutes and then he will tell you that you need to call the customer service. And there you have to wait even longer until they connect you. I canceled my TV service and left only the internet. Then I had to call and cancel a few more times because no one even thought to cancel it there. So I still get invoices to pay for TV. And every time they promise to cancel it. Completely unprofessional agents. They never know the answer to a question. They keep you on the line for an hour or more and do nothing to resolve your problem.

Bad outage service

I've been out of service for 2 days because of a lightening strike. Since it happened outside my house, you would think that they would send someone right out. Instead, I had to make an appointment for a service tech to come out? I work from home so this is VERY inconvenient.

Piss-poor service.

A bunch of crooks

Spectrum is a bunch of crooks. Yes everyone needs to be paid. But the cost is too much. Every 6 months to a year they raise the price on services which is still crappy.

After $45 promotion for a year internet went to $60 then $65 then $74 and now they have raised phone by 3 dollars. For what? And the customer is the worst.

Noone who works here has a heart they just see $$$$. It's a pandemic and people are short on hours or unemployed or even suffering from covid but nobody Spectrum only cares about their pocket. After this payment I'll surely just do without phone and take a slower internet service. Screw Spectrum and the bunch of thieves that work there.

I don't understand how they go out several times a day, for hours at a time. I have the worse time working from home. They always want me to rent their equipment but I seriously did for the first 4 months and had problems, thus why I decided to just buy my own modem. The thing that gets me is they call me all the time to add more things to their service that already struggles. Do not recommend.
