Service literally... LITERALLY goes out at least 5 times a day. It's by far the worst service I've ever had. But they monopolize my area, so I'm stuck with this poor excuse for an internet provider. Ridiculous. Criminal!

When you want to cancel the service, they will put you on hold and no one will answer it.
When I download on Xbox can be just 50KB, even my mobile provider has better speed than spectrum.
Whenever you complain about the speed issue, they will increase when you complain it. But will go back to low speed if you don't keep complain it.

Poor service

Within 5 years (from 2016 to 2021) the price has gone up from $60 to $75 (a 4.5% increase, which is well above the inflation rate), while the Internet speed dropped. At times, there was no Internet connection. The cancellation of their service is a nightmare. They need you to call them, then you will be put on hold for an hour. Then they will try to upsell their service, simply put - "pay more if you need a better Internet connection." Then they will almost immediately charge you for unreturned equipment. You will spend hours proving that you have returned it. There is only one phone number on their website www.spectrum.net/contact-us/, which you do not want to call again anyway. The other option is to "chat." When you do so, guess what? You will spend another hour waiting. Another hour reading their responses, and only at the end, will they tell you that you need to open a dispute with their customer care team and call some other number. You get the picture. Absolutely stay away from Spectrum.

INCREASE ON BILL

I just got off the phone with Spectrum and asked why the $10 increase. It is to pay their increases for for broadcast charges. I informed Spectrum this is part of business so why is there an increase when my rate is guaranteed to 12/18/2021. There response we don't have contracts. I told her that we just came out of a pandemic and why is Spectrum insensitive to their viewers. Spectrum could not answer me. My warning to all viewers Spectrum can always increase their billing and who knows if this will be the last.

Spectrum service was very inconsistent and below the stated spead. I upgraded to AT&T fiber with significant better speed and consistency. I will never get Spectrum again. Spectrum claimed they dont have a contract but attempts to blackmailed you into paying a full final month contract even if you turn your equipment in one day into the next billing cycle.

Liars & Cheats

I called Spectrum because they raised the price on my one year agreement prior to the agreement period ending. The rep talked me into buying 2 Apple TV's saying it would save me a lot of money. She lied and said that they came with Hulu Live and Netfix free. I asked her about my box with the DVR. She said this came with cloud which held more space and would save me $12.99/month, lied and never told me it's $10/monthly. Never informed me that 2 boxes aren't necessary. You can have 1 box and watch on the APP on the other TV. I asked her what if I did not like it and she NEVER informed me that once you opened the box you are stuck paying it in full. How do you know if you like something without trying it?
I spoke to 3 different supervisors who all lied as well. I was told that you cannot return opened Apple products. I called Apple and they said you can return within 14 days but I can't return it to them since I did not buy it there, but Spectrum can! The 1st 2 supervisors said that they could not listen back to the call which was a lie. They also mentioned about me signing electronically which is a lie because I did not. The 3rd listened and twisted my words and said that even if the rep misrepresented what it did and came with that I agreed to it because they sent an email and because inside the box it had a note that said if wanting to return, which I did not read since I did not know I wanted to return until I tried it and disliked it after seeing everything I was told was a lie.
The email has a spot to sign the agreement, which I NEVER did sign. The way this entire thing was sold was unethical and based on lies and fraud.
I would like my money returned for both of these boxes so I can be done with this completely unethical, deceitful company. I could just refuse to pay my bills but I do not want to ruin my exceptional credit rating due to a horrible company that practices unethical tactics to rip off their customers. I would also like to note that I have been a customer since 1999 and this is how they treat customers of over 20+ years!

If I could give a-5 stars I would. Switching to Spectrum mobile from my previous provider was the biggest mistake I have done from the business perspective. The salesperson lied to me in regards to the GB I was getting monthly (unlimited) I am only getting 1GB, Also they sent me the wrong phone ( I phone 12 instead of an I phone 12 pro max). And now there is nothing they can do to fix their lies and mistakes. Stay with your provider and don't make a mistake. This company will soon go out of business, bad practices will catch up to them soon enough.

Just got spectrum TV today. The pause button is a joke. Not enough time to use the restroom, answer the phone for a very short conversation or smoke a cigarette. Totally worthless!

This is the most horrible company out there! Their prices are ridiculous. My Dad died last year and Mom tried to cancel his sports channels. They said she had to come in person with a copy of his death certificate. She is in her 80's and no longer drives and we were in the middle of a pandemic. She asked if she could mail it in and they said no. She paid extra for an entire year. They would not allow me to bring it and Mom is also not well. They also won't let her cancel because the account is in Dad's name. The internet connectivity stinks and she gets kicked off at least 20 times a day. She had them come out and after 3 hours of working on it, it's worse than it was before. And on a personal note, every time you turn on the tv, there's a Spectrum ad (99% connectivity - that's a joke). But now their ads are bashing other companies which I find very off-putting. This company is a nightmare! I wish I could give it a big fat ZERO!

I've had spectrum for almost 2 years in Rural Nebraska. Spectrum, at first worked great, $80 for 100mbps was just what I needed. Flash forward a year and my bill went from $80 to $90 (with a $10 off promotion still active) I didn't mind it going up just $10... so I just thought 'whatever'. A few months ago I noticed my speeds were awfully slow, so I did a speed test and it said my speeds were only at 5mbps, I contacted them and they said it was my router or modem and they would send me new equipment. GREAT! No problem. Did it fix my issue? NO! I have contacted spectrum numerous times to get this issue fixed and they finally said okay, you might need to upgrade your speeds. The following day I contact them to upgrade my speeds since it was only going to be an extra $20 a month, right? WRONG! $199.99 just to upgrade my internet speeds... Now they want to send a tech out to my house to fix the problem in about ohhhhhh a week. *insert eyeroll*

If you work from home or need to have reliable high speed internet (or you just don't want to get ripped off) then Spectrum is not the company for you!

Back in 1974, TelePrompTer wired cable television to Wst Duluth, Minnesota! Their SERVICE was GREAT FOR $3.99 MONTHLY! Now, "wonderful, awesome, "great" SPECTRUM charges BLOOD MONEY TO GIVE HORRIBLE SERVICE!

Spectrum is the absolute worst mess in broadband. The top executives should be imprisoned just for allowing that automated phone tree to exist and for their abusive billing practices. Use anything but #spectrum unless you want to be ripped off and driven insane.

They kept routing me to a wireless mobile phone number that I don't use. Reaching a human was next to impossible and when I finally almost got there, they said it would cost me an additional $5. They charged me for an extra month of service when I ended service and in a word, they suck.

Spectrum has always have been the worst internet providers! I couldn't get my router to turn back to it's normal blue color, they lie and ignore to our complaints, bad customer service, haves the nerves to rip people off even though they got the bundle, and also raised our prices up without being notified or being able to get an answer out of them even though we told them why they done it! We have a the TV, the internet, and the phone but this is how we all get when spectrum doesn't realize that they aren't doing their job!

A month ago a spectrum sales representative came to my house and offered me internet at a price of 54.99 and said that I would have a free month of trial, and recommended that I also try the cable. After this month of testing I spoke to the tuenda and I told them that if I want the service, only without cable, (the pure Internet). And they gave the same price 54.99 and today I received an invoice for $ 82.17. I called them and they told me that they couldn't give me that price, why are they lying? In my opinion that is a robbery, I had to pay them that amount and cancel the account

I was living in Houston in early April and was relocating to the Dallas area in early May so I called the toll free number. I got ahold of some scatter-brain with horrible listening skills. He was so busy trying to get me to buy a bunch of junk that I didn't want, he didn't even listen to me. I told him repeatedly that I would not be in Dallas until early May and I needed a technician to do an installation at this time. This airhead decides to federal express a self-installation kit the same day and no one was there to sign for it because I was still living in Houston. I called them back and set up another account and was promised the other would get deleted. Fast forward, 2 months later, I get a letter from a collection agency telling me that I owed them money on the account that I thought was closed. Now, I'm worried about my credit taking a hit and I have to take time out of my work schedule to resolve this mess. Get it together, Spectrum and stop hiring scammers and incompetence.

My parents have had cable since 1975. I called to have cable wires removed from the exteriors walls of the home. The installation of new cable was 10 years ago and the techs should have gone through the attic for placing the cables. Instead the wires run along the ceiling of one room and on the baseboard of another room. My elderly parents hid the cable wires with furniture. Looking more closely, it's a complete eye soar. There are double cable wires on two sides of the exterior walls of the home. All of this was improperly installed. After being treated so shabbily, we decided to go with ROKU. Spectrum will install cable, but will not remove wires. Ever. It's a horrible way to end a long time relationship. My parents were very loyal. I will never, ever have anything to do with Spectrum. Run for the hills. Get ROKU. Better service.
