The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to poor customer service and escalating costs. While some users acknowledge stable service performance at times, many express frustration with frequent outages, billing inconsistencies, and unresponsive support. Common complaints include difficulties in service cancellations, lack of transparency regarding equipment ownership, and inadequate resolution of issues. The sentiment is largely negative, with customers feeling undervalued and misled. This feedback indicates a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service practices and address billing transparency to enhance customer satisfaction.

I pay a lot for my cable and every night around the same time it cuts out and you can hardly watch it. Very frustrating. Almost ready to dump it!
I have been with Spectrum for over 11 years, within that time spand, I am able to vouch for the faulty equipment and lousy customer service. The boxes they give you NEVER work right, In fact this last box that I personally brought back to their one store in the whole area of Glens Falls was so hot it could have started a fire. I immediately unhooked it and had to drive all the way over to their ONE store by aviation mall. Needless to say, I was upset. Upon arriving, I noticed 5 people ahead of me, 2 more people came in after me with appointments which went ahead of me and the whole time I was there, They Only had 2 people on the counter waiting on customers. Which took an hour and a half before they finally got to me. Seriously, only 7 people in an hour and a half. Needless to say, I'm fuming. There is no cause for lack of help when they charge so much for their service. I believe they have 7 counters but only 2 people were helping customers. I noticed 2 other people behind the counters but they were NOT helping anyone. I'm 68 years old and if I had ever worked this slow while on any job I would have been fired a very long time ago. Maybe its because there are so many Unions today and people feel empowered they can't get fired. What ever the reason, I will NEVER give spectrum a good review after today's frustrations. If you choose anyone else except Spectrum, You have made a good choice! Stay clear of the headaches and frustrations you will get should you go with Spectrum!
I had JUST WIFI with Spectrum for 2 years. It went from $49 to $80. So I called to cancel before my due date and was told I needed to cancel 5 days prior because that was actually my start date. So I owed them the full $80 and they don't prorate. So for 5days of wifi I had to pay $80. I will never recommend them!
I'm disabled. I requested service be disconnected at an address I no longer reside.
This request was never honored and billing continued. My bill was $64 and ballooned to over two hundred. And it continues… Although I called several times they would not disconnect and stop billing. I want to return my equipment because I'm just done with Spectrum! But they won't send return boxes to my new address, they can only send boxes to the old address that I no longer reside. How does that make any sense? It doesn't. Then an employee actually started a reconnect and my service was going to be reconnected at my old address even though I made clear I wanted it stopped. That's criminal fraud! Standard practice for Spectrum.
WTF? Why are you doing this Mr Rutledge Are you really that hard up for more money?
You're clearly one of corporate America's biggest piles of scum. I hope you go straight to hell for all the stress, grief and anxiety that your $#*!ty practices cause consumers.
I have been a customer of the bundle [Internet, TV, phone] services for 10 years. The price has been rising steadily. Their promotions are for new customers. There are no incentives for loyalty. If they spent less on TV commercials, they could lower pricing for existing customers. I was on a call with them for an hour--one agent lowered my price but another agent said I am not eligible for the promotion. There is absolutely no transparency in pricing or product packages.
Cable AND Internet always slow! So expensive! Giving new customers special offer rates but tell you they cant give these offers to the long time customers they already have! NEVER AGAIN
Simple switch of service promised and 2 days of staying here waiting only to have to techs come and had excuses before they even came inside or anything. One said had to. Make a call and left told his story to cover his $#*! couldn't access property i was there and talked to him so a LIE. Worst company ever
Worst service is there anything else here...? Very sad nothing to watch and I'm sure the bill is going
I don't know why anyone would willingly choose Spectrum as their provider for any service. Constant outages, dropped speeds, and general slowness make them a nightmare, not to mention making working from home almost impossible. The number of times I have to apologize for a bad connection on a video conference (even when nothing else is connected) is embarrassing. I get a better, more reliable connection with my Verizon mobile hotspot.
It also makes having a connected home more if a hassle than a benefit.
Beware... as a monthly customer after your contract ends you must pay for the whole month regardless of when you terminate your service. My billing cycle started on the 20th I am moving out to an area they do not service on the 7th... I have to pay the whole $94.99 monthly fee even though I will not be using the service for 2/3 the time. They do not prorate for your moving... also numerous issues with account being locked by mistake. Account closed on the day I called to cancel NOT the day I told them to cancel. I would go hotspot before using Spectrum again.
After having Spectrum for years, in different houses and even states... I feel I owe myself a punch in the gut for staying with them so long. Sure, their prices are (somewhat) okay... But there have been near weekly issues for as long as I can remember. So some of us stay up later than 10pm still (crazy, I know). Now not that I'm paying too much attention, but between the hours of 11pm and ~3am, Spectrum's router loses service about 3-4 days a week. It will usually reset itself and kick back online within 10 minutes (a bit excessive if you ask me). I understand they likely go through automatic updates, but I would assume this would be at a set time and not 11:52pm in the middle of All American. The most recent disconnection, I unplugged modem/router and waited 10 minutes. Nothing. Hit reset on both of them, wait another 10 minutes. Nothing. I finally hit reset on only the router 15 minutes later and it kicks itself back online.
If I'm paying the same amount for car insurance every month as I am for internet, why does the company continue to allow some of my service to be wasted and/or siphoned off multiple times a week? I've gotten new equipment twice at my current residence, so nothing is defective.
Just seems a little sus if you ask me.
We switched to Spectrum over 1 1/2 months ago and we haven't gotta a day were the Internet is so slow and when we call them they say the service is fine! Well I wish they can come work in this office with this internet service so they can see how frustrating there service really is! At that we work inside the old telephone company, we would've thought we would be getting some great service but instead since they claim they are not techs, they don't do much to help but tell us to turn off the modern for 20 seconds to reboot everything, we can't be rebooting the service all freaking day when we have 4 lines ringing with patients all day. Spectrum make it make sense!
WORST SERVICE EVER! They hound u like little diseased rats to get your astronomical amount due each month. It's funny when u try to pay them but they want to charge u to pay with an actual human. I mean, wtf else are employees for?! Then employees are dumb AF, omg! They all say different things and it all comes out of their asses. But then, it is a regular thing for the cable & On Demand to go out. Internet too. FIVE different times in the past 2 weeks I have been towards the end of a movie or show and the cable goes out. If ur watching On Demand you have to re-watch the whole movie cuz can't rewind or fast forward. I also couldn't get on a Zoom meeting for work the other day and got reprimanded for it. The owners /executives of this company should just make everyone's life better and off themselves. They're crooks. They give u a rebate of about $4 cuz prorate the monthly cost and the outages are no more than 1 day. But if ur late or pay with a Live Rep they charge u more than that. Fk ur $4! Nobody cares tho. I know. If you have ANY other options for cable or internet DO IT. Spectrum is so slimy and they give ZERO fks about their customers.
Long story short they have lied to me for over 3 months about paying me for destroying my great great grandmother's rose bush by a third party installer on a completely opposite side of my home then the actual cable. They have given me fake policy numbers, and even sent me to a third party company with prepaid cards claiming they have my money. When in fact that company has no record of my name or payment. Completely unprofessional and horrible customer service. It deserves a 0 out of 5 stars.
Spectrum has the worst ever customer service. They keep you on hold for hours, transfer your from one rep to another, and no one knows or cares to help. They promised to take care of my mobile lines, and nothin that I requested was done, even after holding for 3 hours! They are trash and worthless. Do not give them your money!
There is one consistent thing about Spectrum… be prepared for outages at least once a week. I work from home like 90% of America today and I can count of losing internet on a consistent basis. Customer service tells you the service should be back on at 1:30, it's almost 6:00 and I have gone all day with no service. Horrible. I would have terminated Spectrum months ago if there were other options. Outage happened 3 times in one week, for 4 hours; hilarious enough they don't reimburse you unless you have gone over 4 hours, coincidence? I think not. Definitely do not recommend.
I was overcharged for a defective phone after no service for 14days. Charges are deceiving they say no contract no extra charges. No person should be lied to. They cut off my service 2days later to charge me the a higher price. This company should be banded and closed down. Customer service is the worst ever. Don't return calls and prices are ridiculous I am wating for a call from customer service I need a resolution I will not send any money until treated fairly.
I need internet for working from home and was told my internet would cover my needs for work for conferences calls and receiving and sending files. However, I have to reboot my router at least 1 to 2 times a day and the speed is nowhere need what I was told. Sending a 10 mb file can take 5 minutes or longer which is practically dial up speed. For example, today, my speed was between 10 and 200 bytes per second. That is not high speed.
If you have a fetish for getting lied to and robbed financially, Spectrum is the company for you!
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
