About three days ago, spectrum changed the Roku app. I dont' know if my version of the Roku player doesn't work, or if its just bad code, but I can't seem to select any channels. I called the help desk and they had no idea of what I was talking about or even if they had an application on ROKU. I'm getting really close to cancelling my TV service and just stick to internet.

Spectrum internet

They always have an outage but are only allowed to credit you back if it lasts longer than 4 hours. The phone service is usually okay but the internet is always down. The agents that helps you with chat are polite but can't do anymore more due to this company's policy. Like any other big companies, their survey is based on how the problem was heard, not if it was solved.

A charge for TV service was added to my Internet only invoice. No help with the chat support to correct the issue. I spent one hour and 37 minutes to correct the issue and get a credit. Next billing rolls around and the erroneous charges are still there and no credit. I have now been on the phone 45 minutes and have been transferred 3 times.

Beware when speaking to a Spectrum Rep regarding services. All you will hear is about "special promos" that you probably won't need but will end up getting because the rep will tell you your monthly bill will be lower. Don't fall for this as you will discover that the monthly bill will indeed be more. When calling in to correct/change the service, it will take forever. By then you will need to pay the first month "new fees" regardless as they will not give you a credit. Beware of this practice... better yet... scam!

We switched from AT&T to Spectrum at the beginning of 2022. We took a package that was supposed to include landline phone, internet and Television. The price on the ad was around $50.00. In fact, the charged around $120.00 per month. The phone is fine. We have no complaints about the landline. But their claim that they are 20 x faster than AT&T's internet are false. There's an internet upload speed and a download speed. Their download speed might be faster under ideal conditions, but not by much, and certainly not 20x faster. But you don't get to compare that because the internet service is inconsistent, often fails and must be restarted regularly. The internet slows from 350 mps down to under 1 mps regularly. If you are using a hard wire, you get decent download speed, but pathetic upload speed (under 10 mps,) The WiFi speed never exceeds 20 mps, and the upload speed is less than 1. Add to the slow speed, the fact that it goes out regularly.

The television is the worst part of their package. AT&T provides TIVO, Spectrum does not. You can't record shows and watch them later. Big difference. AT&T uses a single channel changer, Spectrum uses a terrible system for making remote channel changes. The worst part of the Spectrum TV services is that it goes out constantly. You get a few minutes of programming, then you get a few minutes of "buffering." If you have the patience and you want to watch something, you could have equal parts buffering and show. It is beyond annoying.

So, bottom line, Spectrum doesn't deliver an evening of television. It delivers half an evening of television shows and half an evening of "buffering."

A few weeks ago, we got a strange method and no television at all. Apparently, the entire East Coast was shut down for several days. If you don't deliver a television signal, you really aren't in the television business. You are in the business of sending signals part-time.

It's not the agents so much (although have you ever tried to remove a service? They make it extremely difficult and time consuming) as the the companie's policies. Nothing geared toward helping the customer. I wish they didn't have a monopoly.

The worst internet provider very expensive and they will increase your bill every year with no reason at all. I got a new service from AT&T fiber which is way faster as it is fiber connection and much cheaper than spectrum. I regret every penny I paid to them. Even after I asked them to stop the service they didn't stop the service immediately to get more month bill and they did it.

2weeks ago I had the best service from Nick Shobe a sales specialist at spectrum mobile store on East Bay he went over and above his performance taking care of my husband and I. His co-worker Jacob was also helpful. I would recommend them and Spectrum for any internet, phone, service. Thanks again Nick and Jacob

Bad customer service, the agents are useless and will tell you anything to get you off the phone. I.am now in the process of trying to get a refund back due to the incompetence of the a customer service rep not keying in the correct information. My accident was debited almost $500 when it should have been about $68. I was told anything over a certain amount must be handled by a a rep on a level 3. I now will have to pay an overdraft fee from my bank in addition to having my account in the negative. I will no longer keep my card on file and will not trust any agent you speak with over the phone.

Spectrum: Greedy and NOT Customer Focused

Spectrum is charging me $49.99 for ONE day of service! I had a move overlap and was actually paying for Spectrum at 2 locations. This should have made me a very valued customer. By mistake I neglected to disconnect at my old house the day before my service cycle started. Of course, the nice service rep that took my disconnect order did not point out that this would happen nor suggest that I cancel one day sooner. As soon as I realized what had happened, I begged their customer service to please wave this ridiculous charge to no avail. This is their billing policy - no exceptions. How is that good customer service? The worst part is that I am still a customer at my new house. Customer Service made it very obvious that they don't care if I replace them. It's no surprise that the service lost over 70K customer in 4Q 2022.

Unbelievable

I have been a customer of Charter Spectrum 20+ years. Internet went out tonight and after 1 hour of holding then trouble shooting it was determined that we need a service technician to come to restore our internet. Next available appointment it one week! My husband and I both work from home. This is totally unacceptable.

Horrible

Horrible. I wish they didn't have a monopoly over Montana but they do, and I'm forced to go with their terrible service. Outages all the time. I work from home and game heavily, and frequently experience drops in performance, complete outages, and don't even get me started on the throttling. There's an outage right now and the app tries to outright LIE and say there's maintenance (no notice even if that was the case) and yet I call and the rep admits it's an unexpected outage. Spectrum is robbing us blind and there's nothing we can do. If you see anything online that has Spectrum rated over 2/5 stars then it's a false paid review. Absolute crooks, their prices should be half of what they are for their $#*!ty spotty coverage. No back up line? Can't even squeeze out 1/10th of what I pay for to maintain a higher up rate? If a strong competitor comes in who has decent speeds and better uptime, then that's the day Spectrum dies (or give it a few months while they refuse to cancel peoples plans and charge them every last penny that they can)

Afyer trying to switch service to different address Charter would set up times for them to come out and then never show up.
Then when I decided to cancel service they are saying for 2 days service I would owe for the whole month.
Such bad customer service

Problems from first call to today. Had to pay $2400 for in ground cables and then couldn't get anyone to actually correctly install inside our house. Terrible customer service. Only go with Spectrum as your last resort.

I'm being charged for service I didn't receive. I disconnected my service on 5-5-22. I am now being informed that Spectrum does not prorate the last bill. Because the date of service on my last bill is May 1 to May 31,2022, Spectrum is requiring me to pay the whole month even though they agree I only received 4 days of service. I have been told if I don't pay for services I didn't receive, the final bill will be sent to collections and will show up on my credit report. I have an 816 credit score. This is tantamount to blackmail.

To be fair, their internet/tv service worked as it should but this policy of not prorating the final bill speaks volumes about the people at the top. I have never in my life been forced into paying for something I will never receive. This should be criminal.

Spectrum update their menu for cable boxes and tv streaming over the internet. This update destroyed my DVR recording. Made setup harder. The apps don't work. Cannot select the channel you want to be on when the cable box is turn on. Destroyed my favorite list and to make a new favorites list is an impossible task and it really is very bad. Call tech support and they don't care and state they have not made any menu changes, which is a lie. Service is terrible. So, I cancelled my internet and phone service. Once I find a replacement for cable TV, I will cancel that service.

I love my Spectrum service. Internet Ultra (400mbps) is superfast and handles all my house wifi needs. TV is great and mobile cell is the best deal. I switched our 5 phones, Apple watches and iPads to my account and couldn't be happier! Saved a ton over t-mobile who sucked. They even gave me an iPhone 13 for free!

Fix what you broke
June 15, 2022

Spectrum was messing with the cable box on the side of my apartment building and I don't have cable in 1 room. Went and exchanged the receiver and Spectrum can't get a signal to the receiver, now I have to wait 4 days for someone to come fix. I pay way too much money for Spectrum to treat its customers this way. If you messed it up you should immediately fix the problem.

This has got to be the worst cable TV and internet service in the last year I have ever seen in my life. Outages all the time. Internet speeds that are never steady and it goes out often as well as cable tv it goes down at least once every day sometimes it comes right back other times I have to re boot everything. I don't know what's changed over the last year but Charter Spectrum really sucks. If you have another option I would strongly urge you to check them out. If I had another option where I live I definitely wouldn't have Charter Spectrum. Sick of it.

Applying for work

I'm not sure what's the issue but I have applied for over 15 jobs since the beginning of this year. Not once have I recieved a call or email in regards to those applications. Just told from the applicant center I'm no longer under consideration. Which is ironic since these positions ARE STILL AVAILABLE!
Equal opportunity doesn't seem to play a factor here.
