The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to poor customer service and escalating costs. While some users acknowledge stable service performance at times, many express frustration with frequent outages, billing inconsistencies, and unresponsive support. Common complaints include difficulties in service cancellations, lack of transparency regarding equipment ownership, and inadequate resolution of issues. The sentiment is largely negative, with customers feeling undervalued and misled. This feedback indicates a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service practices and address billing transparency to enhance customer satisfaction.

This company is such a major scam. AVOID USING THEIR SERVICES AT ALL COSTS. They charge you unnecessarily and destroy your credit.
The staff is extremely rude, avoid calling their customer care for any reason, they will not help. I cannot believe how this company has been running even after millions of negative reviews.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
The company is very fraudulent. I cancelled my service Aug 12, but my "bill" was dated for July 28th. They did NOT tell me my cable would be still be usable until August 27th. I was told to return my items immediately. So now I paid a full bill and don't have any services since my stuff was returned, yet I still could have had services until the 27th. You express this frustration to the company and they have no care in the world. Customer service is super poor.
Had Spectrum internet service in vacation home for years. Recently sold house and canceled service on 8/11. Received bill from 8/9 through 9/8. Called to ask for a refund for days after 8/11. I was told I would get novrefung even though the buyer signed up for service starting on 8/12. Essentially Spectrum is billing both of us for almost a month of the same service.
Do not get your service with them, horrible service provider overall. There is a reason they get a lot of 1 star reviews. My internet always went out, techs take forever to get out for on-site repairs. I moved out and I made sure to cancel my internet but there was some lead time for them to cancel it. I was charged entire month of service for being in my current billing cycle by 5 days! Meaning I was charged for 30 days for 5 days of "Service" I was not using which I had already cancelled before my billing cycle but since the lead time was so long I ended up getting burned. Customer Service was relentless on making sure they get that 1 month service charge to my account. They even locked my account from me having access and they had a collection agent call me to make a payment. Like I said horrible "Service". This company goes under, I won't be upset. Good Luck to you if you have to deal with Spectrum but if you don't have to you would be better off.
I am currently attempting to cancel service for my deceased parents. Nearly impossible! Seems that because I'm not an "authorized user", they won't let me cancel. The "authorized users" of the account are DEAD! I've already turned in the equipment.
A maddening do nothing hard to contact useless cable company. They ought to be outlawed even better burned at the stake.
Spectrum is the very worst organization that I deal with. The levels of incompetence run from top to bottom. There are likely worse organizations... but not in my experience. In comparison Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN... the best organization I deal with. Spectrum people often do not have information, do not do what they say they will do, at times obviously lie, and are technically incompetent. There is no competitive service option available at my location.
I was a loyal customer for over a year. I called spectrum to cancel my services as I decided to go with just internet with frontier to save money. I paid the $200 plus that I owed for my Apple devices and the representative that I spoke with assured me she could beat frontiers price. She put me on hold and then came back and apologized and said she was wrong and could not meet or beat their price. So I set my cancellation for 4 days later and she never said anything about having to pay for the full month or I would have either stayed with them for the remaining month or cancelled right then and there. Now they are charging me over $148 for the 4 days of service. This is so wrong that companies like them take full advantage of this especially when they never told me about this during our 20 minute conversation
Found out the hard way that they allow their employees to lie about waiving charges during an expensive upsell, and the managers refuse to listen to the allegedly record transcript. The employee John said that they'd waive a $50 fee when I upgraded- when I was billed for it, I called to have it corrected and spent 35 minutes with a 'manager', only to end up with a $20 credit in my next bill. I am sure that this is a lie as well. I am looking for another provider as this is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I should have checked their ratings before doing expensive business with them- to top it off, the wifi only works about 75% of the day- the upsell was entirely BS.
Spectrum has earned it's 1.3 star rating. Trying to do anything beyond expanding your portfolio of Spectrum products or services faces maddening roadblocks at every turn. Want a static IP address? $99 for a not-needed service call, and $20/month fee going forward. Want to dump the telephone service you've never used? "Well, sir, that might increase your billing because of the discounts you have. Some will go away...". "I want to do it anyway", I reply. "Have the technician that's scheduled to 'install' the static IP address remove the phone hardware when he's there." "No sir, we can't do that. You have to cancel the tech call and then we can remove the phone service." My advice: If it's the only ISP in town, get it "NAKED". No phone. No TV, no Mobile. Or, even better, get Space X's Starlink. $110 a month and that's it.
SEASONAL CUSTOMERS BEWARE! $53.25 per month for service while we aren't there with minimal internet access for video doorbell. Really? Also, beware of billing and charges. Cancelled service 4 days into billing period and was charged for whole month. It's on the bill in small print. NO to Spectrum! WOW! Alternative for much faster speed at 39.95
I have been a Spectrum Customer for over 6 years now and their customer service and price have become unacceptable. I constantly have issues with their advertised speeds, about half the time they don't come close. Every three to four months they have to send a tech to fix their dilapidated infrastructure and or have to replace my modem.
I have also been informed by a couple of different spectrum techs that have come to my house for work that have said spectrum has fiber all the way to the boxes outside my house but refuses to hook them up.
For Comparison... I pay $70 per month for an advertised 300 down and 10 up (and half the time this is not so). I also have another property in the same state but a different city, where I have Race Communication (a much smaller company). With Race i pay the Same ($70) but i get 1000 up and down with fiber internet.
Unfortunately, spectrum is the only internet provider in my area, so I am stuck paying their ridiculous prices for a service that is subpar at best! Please do yourself a favor and avoid moving into an area where spectrum has a virtual monopoly.
Spectrum is a Garbage Company! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
It's disgusting how Spectrum goes out five to six times a month. Takes six or so hours to fix. When they can't they have to schedule to come out to your house. Half the time they never show up. I've already lost one job due to their internet unreliability. I'm about to lose another. You just can't take off work and claim it's internet. Even when it is. You get FIRED.
If I was to type all of the problems I've had to deal with including customer service lies, activation for cell phone, paid the phone off and can't get it unlocked for 60 days. Home internet and land line phone, the just decided to add Spectrum TV to my bill with out my permission and I had to pay it, 60 days later still waiting for a credit. This company needs massive help in customer service. Let me add their return policy also sucks.
Since the pandemic ive been working from home mostly. The last 6 months my internet drops 1, 2, 3, times an hour. We have replaced my pc, we have replaced the modem 3 times, we have replaced the router, the line from the box coming into the house and we have replaced the drop twice. After all this still no better connectivity. Ive had my IT person here while spectrum was here. I had to schedule appts with neighbors so spectrum can get into their yards and spectrum no calls and no shows us. Apparently getting "MAINTENANCE" out is the key and boy are these guys guarded like a hawk. They were supposed to come by yesterday still havent heard from them. Getting to the point of being able to have "MAINTENANCE" come out in the first place is like winning a gold metal. This is ever other day of 45 minute calls to spectrum and being told one thing then the techs arrive late and say something completely different. 6 MONTHS LATER AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED NOR DO I HAVE AN APPT AS TO WHEN IT WILL BE... good luck. HURRY GOOGLE FIBER... ATT IS BETTER THAN SPECTRUM!

After having to argue to get an appointment for services that went out, the customer service staff and morning supervisor and lead person Michael has very poor customer service, I am complaining about the events that happen today and he interrupts me saying your service is working, I am talking about my issues with your customer service staff. I am so over this company, do not use the company if you dont have to, internet always goes down and the customer service is RUDE. I will say Randall in technical support was awesome. Just bad service
I wouldn't spectrums services to my ex-wife or my most despised enemy. Nothing but bad vibes and deceit from your company!
I cancelled my service with spectrum and turned in my equipment on 22 June 2022, moved to Las Vegas from Palm Bay Florida. Noticed today a charge of $269 on my August checking account and a charge of $ in July. Called billing at Spectrum and asked why am I being charged a $249 in July and $269 in August when I turned in my equipment and closed my account at a Spectrum Store on 22 June. My billing cycle started on the 21 of each month. Since I closed it a day later, the 22ed, I was being charged for a whole month for 1 day service. Their policy! What about August charge of $269 I asked. Told that I did not CALL in to cancel the account until July 22,2022. So I was charged for the month of August because it was after the start of the billing cycle of 21 July. I never called on the 22ed of July because I thought my account was already cancelled on the 22 of June when I turned in my equipment and told the person behind the counter to cancel my account. He said done and have a good trip. This whole situation rings of a scam they are pulling. End result I am out over $500 with no course of action. Decision was made by their supervision. Is this anyway to run a company?
Internet and tv app stink. Slow, buffers, fuzzy picture, poor quality, dropped calls, long hold times, unknowledgeable agents and techs, overpriced, sell packages not delivered or made right, can't fix anything, goes out constantly, and terrible customer service. Use someone else.
I leased office space a year ago with the understanding that I would have access to business high speed internet. I use telehealth for much of my work. I complained to management about the poor connectivity, as did other tenants. After MONTHS of dealing with this Spectrum sent a tech out and guess what... we did not have a dedicated line. We barely had enough bandwidth to meet the minimum threshold when there was nobody in the building! The original tech was too lazy to run the line and just tapped off of another existing line. Did I get any refund? Nope.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
