Liars and cheats!

Service is okay. VERY expensive. I called concerning a "special Offer:" they supposedly had that would cut my bill "in half". I called and was immediately put through to an India call center. Yak, yak, yak. "We will charge only $46.00 per month." To do this we must have you pay ten months up front." When I was approached by a rep in a Walmart, I was told there was a program for retired people over 65 years of age. All of this is an out and out lie. Don't trust a single thing they say. How do you know they lie? They open their mouths. If I had a single other good choice (already been through the only other provider in the area and they were the same bunch of liars.

Customer Service

Worst customer service I have EVER experienced. After spending 30 minutes on the phone yesterday...I finally hung up. Went to the local office to get my concerns addressed...was completely dismissed by a young man who should not be a customer service person. Finally got my bill today {March 5th} for a bill that is due March 11th. Obviously the checks I've written to Spectrum {Time-Warner} for the past 30 years or so mean nothing.I cannot hardly wait to find anyone else who wants my check.

I'm being charged monthly for an item they say I received, but I don't have any Spectrum equipment in my household. They say it's Spectrum mobile, I have Verizon as my carrier. So here they are taking money out of my checking account for something I don't have. So I am not disconnecting my TV service, I don't want nothing to do with Rip off of a company.

I'm trying to cancel a portion of my services. Called and was hold Forever! Finally got thru to someone who told me SHE COULDNT HELP ME, THAT I HAD TO TALK WITH THE RETENTION TEAM. I called the number and after being on hold for an eternity I was cut off. It appears that Spectrum retains customers by not talking with them!

No prorate credit given!

I put our triple play plan on vacation hold about one week into it's monthly cycle plan and planned on resuming service back from our winter vacation also about three weeks before the cycle ended. Our lease went from the 1st of month to end of second month with billing cycle ending on the 20th. Found out they don't prorate credit on either end. So I paid for full service the entire billing cycle when I left early and was charged again full service for the entire cycle when I returned. No credit either way. Going to cancel service and if I ever go back, it will be on the 1st of a month!

Having been a customer for 37 years now, I am treated so rudely and my fees steadily increase. Bills are always paid on time, have been a loyal customer and they SCAM me at every opportunity. It is outrageous that a company is allowed to operate as Spectrum does. The bill has increased by $36 in the past two months for zero reason except that they think they can get away with it. Calling the company takes hours of time and going to the store in Newtown is an exercise in incompetence. Save yourself the rip off, manipulation, scam techniques and non-stop aggravation by avoiding Spectrum!

Price gouging
February 21, 2024

Started paying four years ago at $50. They've been increasing their Internet prices. I now pay $100 for that same service with no upgrades or new hardware. They take advantage of existing customers. My opinion of them is as bad as NYSEG with this obvious robbery. Lack of competition gives them a wallet stiffy, and we are the ones getting violated.

Rude scammers!

If i could i would give them 0/5 stars, super rude and non helpful and the worst thing: liars. Me and my roommate were promised student discounts but what they failed to tell us was that we had to apply for it ourselves. The guy that sold it to us definitely did not mention that so when we got the bill we were shocked and the "help" we got after that was terrible. The woman on the phone said that if we paid we would get the promised price next month, but no we got the promised price times 4 yet again :') so when we refused to pay they also forgot to mention that we ourselves had to pause/cancel in the app even though we had told them we didn't want to pay a price higher than promised again. In our minds we thought that we no longer had to pay until we got the student proof they apparently needed; we didn't have any wifi so why should we have to pay for nothing, well they very conveniently left out a lot of info and facts including that bills would indeed still come our way. We are nineteen and just moved to USA from Europe and the guy selling us spectrum 100% took advantage of that (and the rude people on spectrum's customer service). Safe to say we will never recommend spectrum! Unless you wanna pay 600 dollars for 2 months of wi-fi.

Really great connections and speeds. However after you start with the Introductory Price expect a 5 dollar increase every few months until maxed out on their plan. If you have one of their routers, after they max you out with their service plan, you will get a gradual increase for the router service as well. They will argue that you have the lowest service offered when you try to negotiate a lower plan in slwhich they have to refer you to service agent to see if you qualify for service lowered for Section 8 or Disabled people. Then offer to cut off your service when expressing you discern for the rate increases without notice. You will be so bombarded with Spam Ads to add extra services or plans, that if they are mailing updates you don't know since it's always an Advertisement that you receive in the mail. It doesn't show in their App that there are going to be rate increases, it just appears on the bill. They also don't Volunteer Information and leave their customers in the dark cause we aren't asking. Some very poor customer services in most cases and half the time you do talk to someone that understands. Even if you get your own WiFi Box they make it difficult to even cancel the service plan for their WiFi Router even to keep charging customers after they turned in the Equipment. Their place is Price Gouging Customers and don't think that the customers communicate about the way this company gains it's extra money against customer knowledge and consent, or even consulting with their customers.

These people lie, falsify records on the customer's behalf in the tickets, cook their books, etc. Although I escalated situations and they are supposed to call me back (yada yada) they'll simply close a ticket without even reaching out to the customer at all, or in a recent even they called on the wrong day, and not only that, on that wrong day, they still didn't even call at the right time. And without any follow up, or another attempt to reach me (even if they thought they called at the right time), they simply just closed the ticket – and that's happened before with this illusion of a company. And then in talking to a supervisor of a supervisor in the department that's above this other department (yada yada) they said, "well we don't even promise that we'll call at a certain time." Except, that's exactly what they did, and their phone agents will also say one thing one day, then you talk to someone else, and it's like you're talking to a different company. And have also falsified other information like when a bill is due not just escalated matter, you know, basic stuff they lie about. Hands down the worst customer service ever, and in fact, it simply does not exist or gets an F- if I'm being generous. Their phone agents don't have the information they need to tell the customer because Spectrum's system doesn't provide them with that information. I have heard more lies from this company than any other company that I can recall. And I've taken notes and recorded conversations. This is not some "I'm annoyed rant" off of one tiny thing. I have very clear, black and white facts showing these people lie. And in asking them to escalate things further than simply the billing department, they can't provide that info, or give me contact to their legal counsel. And their departments are structured in a way that all of them basically do the same thing (which is only help you if there's an outage or to pay the bill) just to give the illusion that the customer is going up the ladder. But in fact, no matter who you talk to there, be it the first person that picks up, or several supervisors up in different departments - you are talking to the same exact person, with the same exact abilities. They will do absolutely nothing for you, even when it's their fault.

And with all of that, and they still don't provide good service. The Internet (which is all I have from them) is... fine. It's not total crap, it, you know, it exists. But that's about it. And in my area, for Internet alone it's $90/mo. Which is ludicrous obviously.

If you can avoid this scam of a company, and even go with something more expensive, or with slower Internet - I would highly highly suggest you go with that other company and avoid Spectrum at all costs.

I would leave a zero start rating but it won't let me. A 1-star rating for Spectrum is maybe something they can hope to achieve one day.

I ordered the iphone 15 in exchange for my iPhone 12! They told me how much they would give me for my phone, what my bill would be until i sent them the iPhone 12 then my bill would be adjusted! After waiting two weeks for them to email me the return label I called to inquire about it and they said I didn't do an exchange and there is nothing they can do about it!

I called to set up an account. And the rep set up my account. After it's done. I asked for my account number. The rep refused and said I cannot give you your account number. Because it's against our company policy. You cannot get your account number that I just set up for you. Utter idiocy. These people should not have their jobs. Unbelievable.

I pay extra to be able to save to cloud extra storage. ALL basketball games (about 2 a week)I scheduled that I wanted to watch in the last 2 months stop at and cannot resume at about half time. When I called to find out what l was doing wrong l was told it was their fault and they were working on fixing it. Period. End of discussion. When l said l'd expect a refund on the extra storage, l was told they wouldn't and when l made a stink the best they would do is $10. What a bunch of crooks!
I am actually surprised they can get away with the thievery. Doesn't the government protect us from such blatant and agressive rip offs?

We counted 16 to 19 commercials every time and it is infuriating. I know spectrum wants to make money but you know what maybe they should care more about their viewers I don't wanna sit here through 16 to 19 darn commercials.

Do not use Spectrum!

Every few months my bill gets increased and every time I call to see if I can get a discount since the price is outrageous. The company is willing to provide internet for a lower cost for new clients but not loyal clients who have been paying for years. Extremely disappointed in this company. The internet is not even that great. Save your money and go through a different company.

Horrible customer service and phone connection! Also they charge you for the whole month if you switch service. I didn't know it but I switched to t-mobile and I learned after that even though I only had spectrum mobile for a few days of the month, they charged me for the whole month! Total scam! Avoid Spectrum mobile at all cost!

Horrible

Was lied to for 2 weeks saying there was service available at the new place
Was told a tech would be out so wasted time and gas going to new place for no one to show up
Then after chatting with spectrum for the rest of thev2 weeks I'm finally told there is no service available in that area and $#*! off my services at my home where I'm still at
And now I'm being told they have to run new service and I have to pay fees to get it up and going again and they have to run a credit check
Their fault
Incompetent company
Goes out for hours days when it rains
Just another company over charging for crap service and horrible customer service
If there is another company in your area go with them and save yourself all the headaches
